Nice staff, but complete waist of time. We waited 6 months for appliances. One wasnt going to get here before the store closed, so we cancelled it. The other finally arrived, but was damaged. Bummer.
So sad to hear that Sears is closing. They had great merchandise and the staff was helpful and friendly. The store has been here in Hawaii for many years. Having to go thru this corona virus pandemic is so stressful. A lot of people will be out of jobs once the store closes its doors. Goodbye Sears! 👋
I only looked around to buy certain items there pretty good place to shop for items that comes with warranty and they fix what ever you purchased from there store.its kinda pricey but its worth to purchase the items.
Terrible. We walked in 10am 14th of Jan. 2021 to be greeted by the appliance sales man “We have nothing in stock everything is special ordered” basically told us to leave. If it was up to me I’d get rid of him. Then he went on to tell us how all the main landers were moving to Hilo to flee Trump. Said everyone was afraid of him. Don’t bring me down, keep your political views to yourself. Store was clean. Salesman was terrible.

Not much to say here. The closing of the stores discounts are minimum compared to the very high retail.
When we originally placed our order here, we were very satisfied. Our rep. Faule was awesome and very nice and i would give his service a five star rating if I could.That being said, We were told our gas range and dryer would be delivered in a week.No one confirmed so we went into the storeA week later, and were told the stove needed burners ordered and they were delayed a week out in Honolulu.They said they would wait and deliver everything at once when it all came in.While we were there, we updated the type of dryer prongs we needed, from a 3 to a 4 prong.Now its the third week.(Delivery confirmation call didnt come until almost 7pm. The night before)Not only did the delivery workers damage my door and frame (and quite frankly, were very unprofessional) but they arrived without the stove top burners, and the wrong prong size.Ontop of that, the stove itself was warped, damaged and essentially un-usable, most of said damages were not pointed out to us before sale. Then had to waste my time and gas expenses driving back to SEARS to replace the wrong prong and was given no solution as to why my order wasnt complete upon delivery. ADDITIONALLY they gave me the WRONG replacement part.We have been in the store regarding this order FOUR times, at that point Idk how there could be any room for error.All they have for sale on floor right now is audacity.

I bought a $30 pair of Scotts sandals at the Hilo store. Scotts last forever, usually. These though, started coming apart soon as l wore them. A week after purchasing them l went back and they said l couldnt return them with out the sales tag. I had the receipt, but why would anyone keep the price tag??? This is idiotic. This is fraud. This is theft.
The good: Most of the employees at this Sears are friendly and helpful, making for a pleasant shopping experience. The not so good: The store itself is not in the best of shape and I find many items unavailable locally. Another issue is the air conditioner could be a little cooler for the consumers shopping in the store; Im sure its more green but I doubt thats why its that warm in a department store.
For starters.i needed a battery for my old 1992 Silverado truck. The diehard battery literally died hard. Having started for a record nine years. 6 years past its expiration date. With this pandemic it was odd going in there. Everything is different. But the auto center people were nice and helpful. The only snag..was that they dont take American Express. Had to go back home and get another source of revenue and go back to the store to reimburse the kind gentleman Henry. He took his own sears card and finished the transaction for me. And trusted that I would return. So yes sears has its problems but we in Hilo couldnt live without them. A big thank you to Henry for being so kind.
As you walk in you quickly realize Sears is dying.
Its just like I remembered it. Crazy high quote and old school sales. Didnt purchase. 3 employees walked by without even saying hi or doing anything but death stares. Low class.

Five stars for the peeps in the appliance department. They are awesome!I wish I could give no stars for today’s transaction. But the cashier today in the men’s department needs to be trained better. When you send your husband to pay his credit card bill with your check, then the cashier thinks it’s ok to run the check through at a higher amount then give cash back to my husband and say oops can you just deposit this into your checking account. Since when is Sears a cash checking location.I got ahold of the supervisor, and she wanted me to put a stop payment on my check. Why should I pay to put a stop payment on my check when your cashier did the mistake.In my eyes isn’t that transaction just wrong.Maybe next time instead of me going to the bank, I will go to Sears instead, one stop shop and banking.
I have been shopping at Sears for the past 30 years and have bought all my appliances from them. Done with them! I bought a power washer from them and it is a Craftsman and was about $400.00. I followed the instructions and after one use couldn’t get it started. I had bought an extended warranty for $124.00. I went to return it and since it was passed the 30 days they would not give me my money back. They instructed me to call the warranty folks. I spent 45 minutes on the phone being passed to4 different people. Finally, they said that we could have some one come to our house, but we would have to pay for it, even though we had paid for the extended warranty. Then we explained after talking to the Hilo Sears employee that Sears does not have a repair place anymore and it is not due to covid. The warranty people gave us a phone and address to take the pressure washer to in Hilo. When we called him, he told us that he was not set up and wondered why Sears was sending folks to him. So bottom line is Sears is terrible and I recommend that you stay far away or get ripped off. I used to think when they would say that they might have to shut down that it would be a loss No more!
Went in with my family the other day. And this lovely young lady with braids helped us in tools find exactly what my husband was looking for. We also bought some close on the way out (so many great deals) and the regular register was closed so we had to go to men’s which had a long line the called for help and she came. She was so sweet and my daughter loved her. She really was so helpful and kind. She is a great addition to sears. I think her name was Sophie or Sophia or something. Great store I’d recommend going over to tools Best customer in Hawaii.

The associate was very helpful with my exchange. I got what I needed and was happy.
One Sales lady from another Dept. asked if we had questions. Suggested we look online for other portable dishwashers. Sears had one only on display and left. When needing more help, the other sales people were standing around in the appliance dept. 15-20 away talking among themselves.
It brought back old memories of the part Sears has had in my life. Little sad to see it lose its status some. Still good place to shop, even though there are better prices elsewhere.
WORST STORE ON THE ISLAND!!! when you purchase an appliance they send an email telling you it’s ready but they don’t tell you they close completely for lunch! If you love driving 2 hours for nothing then this is the store for you! At this point I’m glad they’re going out of business. No mystery why. Might be nice if they post correct hours on Google Maps.
They do not answer their phones. No matter the department you select it rings once and disconnects. I am never ordering anything from them again.

Tried to do an even exchange today on 2 pair of Levis 505 jeans that I bought for my son for Christmas. Unfortunately, the cashier told me it was past the 30 day return policy. I understand if it were a seasonal Christmas item, but they carry these jeans year round. I am so disappointed especially since we are NOT a family that goes to the mall daily, weekly or even monthly and these jeans are flippin $40/pair.
I cannot believe all the good reviews. I have had nothing but problems with my order from Sears. Ordered outdoor furniture in October..now there is no trace of that order...but my account is charged....and I cannot speak to someone in the United States.... .Un fun in believable. 0 stars!

Customer Service is terrible. When you go in to the Store to look around personally prior to buying while dressed decent the salesmen are all over you and pressing you to see if they can make a sale. But when you actually go back when you are ready to purchase and you are not dressed like you have the money to spend you can never seem to get anyone to help you. Even if you were to ask for help, the salesmen would say that they were either busy or supposedly helping another customer in a customer empty store.Even if you know that the big ticket item you would like to buy is available in-stock either within the stores warehouse or secondary standalone warehouse and none of the salesmen are willing to help you. You cannot just go to the regular cashiers at the registers to cash you out. You must wait for a salesmen in one of those specified departments that you are buying from.Also to get a hold of the store by phone is really a pain. Good luck cause youll never reach the store by phone. The only way to reach them is in person. Which is hard especially when you arent near by or able to stop by. No matter what department number you try to call they wont answer the phone. Ive even tried the manager and left messages for anyone to call back, with still no luck.The other thing that I dislike about the Sears store in general is the Extended Warranty pricing and policy which dosent make sense.For example you buy an item that has a warranty already specified on it. You are given the option to buy an extended warranty on that item, but the warranty doesnt start after the initial warranty finishes. It starts from the day the item is purchased. And on top of that the price that they are expecting you to pay for that warranty is outrageous. It can be as much as 75 to 125 percent the price of the item. Compared to buying a similar item at any other big box store, which in those cases the warranty pricing is fixed by the items cost/price and the warranty begins after the manufacturers warranty ends.The only reason that I am giving this rating 2 stars is because the store itself had what I wanted/needed in-stock. Other than that I would have givin it a 0-1 star rating for sure.
Ordered a dryer online over a month ago and didn’t get notice if it was in, so I called the appliance center and first guy said they couldn’t look up my order with the confirmation code but only sales check number. So I called back and another guy tells me only a manager can look up sales check numbers as I will have to wait like 20 minutes because there is no manager around. He then puts me on hold and I wait 3 minutes then he hangs up. I call back and Raysha answers and asks if she can help. I giver her my sales check number and she pulls it right up. I don’t think she even worked in appliances but still helped me. Guys in appliances need customer service training.

We had a hard time online getting the price we wanted for the lawn mower we wanted, so we headed in to Hilo to deal with someone in person. The staff in the tool department was great. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and the women helped us figure out the right mower for our situation and arranged delivery. Very pleased with the process so far.Also had some keys cut here. The gentleman at the counter was very fast and friendly, and after visiting three other places, we managed to find the right blanks here. Definitely recommend the key cutting services inside this Sears.
I was exchanging a weedeater that broke down. The clerk looked up my warranty information and told me I was entitled to a new one. He was so polite and understanding that it totally relaxed me, and took away the stigma of returning something. Sears has been a part of my family since my first memories. I am 67. Went to pick up stuff and told me the items is in the warehouse on the other street and I cant even find that place on google map. If the item is in the other place, how come the address on the invoice is the actual store? Why you do still offer in vehicle pick up?

They still have a helpful staff even if the company gave the old staff the shaft. Sears catalog could have been Amazon if they were better managed. But they may go away and be like Woolworth, Kress, Sure Save, Foodfair, or others if they dont watch out.

I wouldnt recommend ordering appliances online because the representative lied about arranging a gas conversion for a dryer. And had me order a gas conversion kit that I wouldnt need. After a two week wait the dryer had to be sent back. I was told by Sears employees to not ever use online services!!!! Now waiting again to have it corrected...beyond frustrated.

I unfortunately always get great service at Sears! I say this, because I spend all my money there. 😜 I am 65 years old and have shopped at Sears since I was a child. My parents were Sears shoppers and it kinda stuck. I keep hearing rumors about us losing our Sears in Hilo. I hope that isnt true. Where will I shop? Not Wal-Mart, that is for sure! Silistino in appliances and Candy the Store Manager are top notch on my list. Customer Service in the Hilo Hawaii Sears is outstanding and hard to beat.

I ordered tires on Amazon. the site said the tires matched so I just ordered them and install would be at sears.when tires arrive they are the wrong size. What a waste of time. I had to ship tires back and that was a Hassel as well. The guy at Sears thought it was funny.
