I love Uloha so much!! I was on vacation in Hawaii for a week and somehow ended up at the store 3 different times. The staff were so helpful and fun to talk to. They helped me pick out the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever worn and walked me through picking an osprey backpack and other hiking supplies. As a total beginner at hiking, I really appreciated the way they explained everything so clearly; I never felt lost or out of my depth. Thank you Uloha!!

Really enjoy this place, coming from what have generally been really positive experiences mainland with the large REI stores.Bought something here for the first time 2 weeks ago and ran into a couple of issues with the product (which happens sometimes) and received absolutely fantastic service from a manager named Matt. Pretty sure the store ended up losing some money on the transaction in order to provide great customer service and thats all I could ever ask for in figuring out where to spend my money next time.Also, if you need to find prepackaged food for backpacking trips, the stuff they sell there is absolutely fantastic.Glad I have my go-to backpacker and trail running store on Oahu now.

Uloha was great! I went there on multiple separate occasions to prepare for my hike while I was in Hawaii and the staff were always helpful and knowledgeable. They helped me to gear up and also helped recommend hikes to go on! 10/10 would go on vacation just to go to Uloha!!!

The staff went above and beyond to help me find exactly the hiking shoe that I didnt know I was looking for. In the end, the floor was littered with 20 shoe boxes. I appreciate the effort, Yoshi! Sorry about the mess.

Located conveniently down the street from hi climb and staffed by some really chill people. It looks like it had everything you would need from lead to bouldering, indoor and outdoor. They also rent crash pads for a fair price.

Great selection, would rather go here than a chain store

So disappointed with the customer service here. I bought a pair of spikes for my brothers girlfriend for her birthday and they are too small for her so she tried to exchange them and the staff told her she could not even though she had the receipt and they are brand new. Never used. I could have bought these from REI but we wanted to support local through the Pandemic. Never again.

Visited on a Saturday. Didnt have my size. Asked if it could be ordered, it couldnt be ordered, but a shipment was coming in. I called on Tuesday and the shipment just came in. They couldnt hold my boots for more than 24 hours. The person on the phone said she would make an exception because I had been waiting for them. Today is Wednesday: I dedicated my afternoon to rent a car and buy the boots that were held for me. When I got there, the man behind the counter looked around and there were no boots held for me. In the back, they did have the boots in my size but not my color. Maybe thats a lot to ask for, but thats a big part of the reason I waited for the boots in the first place. I left empty-handed. Poor communication on Ulohas side, both internally and with me. My time in HI is limited and hiking boots are all but necessary. The staff were nice (particularly M, with the pup) but ultimately that got me nowhere. Make it easy for customers to shop local, especially when youre the only brand-agnostic hiking gear game in town. Disappointing.

Very nice to have a store with such helpful staff! Local knowledge of hiking trails and conditions is very valuable. Low-pressure, high service. If it costs a few dollars more than online, its well worth it. And if you find something online that they dont have, they can probably get it for you.

Went to look at hammocks and tents. All they sold were double hammocks, none with bug nets or rain flys. Had one 1 person and one 4 person to choose from and thats it for tent models. Very extensive climbing section in the back.

You know, Uloha is a real jem for Hawaii. Uloha and Climb Aloha represent true outdoor gear and climbing stores here in the middle of the Pacific. Were incredibly lucky to have these stores, and as outdoor enthusiasts I think we should be getting off the online retailers and getting in out cars, or our bikes, or our own two feet to take our outdoor dollars down to these two stores and make them super profitable! Im selfish, I want good gear in local shops so i have a great selection when I do need something. Stuff that I can hold in my hand and check out, instead of pictures and reviews by random folks! Help me do it!

Super knowledgeable and friendly staff. Large selection of hiking, climbing and camping gear. Took the time to sit down and talk about hiking shoe styles and fits with me so I could make an informed decision on what I need to conquer one of over 300 trails here on Oahu! Can’t recommend them enough!

Ive been on this island for a year now and everywhere I looked they never had any fuel for jetboils let alone the amount of goods that I need. 10/10 would go again.

What an amazing group of people that run this gear shop. My wife and I came to Oahu to backpack our way around the island. Because we couldn’t fly with our stove fuel (for jetboil) we were desperately looking for it. We left the shop with more than stove fuel, they gave us insider tips on places to visit and things to watch out for. The conversation was awesome and my wife and I won’t forget the Aloha we felt here!

My wife and I love outdoor adventures. We arrived in Oahu with minimal gear and so found ourselves in Uloha to grab essentials we left. They had a wide variety of items, sale items all around and a great selection of foot traction devices to get us up those steep muddy (but awesome) trails. I would definitely go back.

I find everything I needed at Uloha for my hiking adventures plan. The staff here are very informative, helpful and friendly. The store is small but they were able to stock a lot of outdoor gears for hiking, camping, and climbing.

The store is great for the items you need for trail running, camping, climbing, hiking etc. I picked up a pair of salomons and they had a deal on shorts so I grabbed a pair of those as well. Justin, the owner, is a great guy that walks the floor of his business to ensure the customers are taken care of. He has a real passion for the outdoors and wilderness professionals. Definitely your one stop shop for outdoor recreation and professional needs.

Huge selection of climbing gear, and good hiking shoe selection. While there are lots of running shops on the island, there is actually not that many hiking shoe shops! Glad I was able to track this place down.

Like a small version of REI, only place to buy high quality hiking and camping gear like Kelly, Marmot, Jetboil, MSR, etc. Has a good selection of packs, bags, pads, food and both books and maps for local trails.

I don’t usually do reviews for anything really, but the customer service is absolutely amazing, so genuine, on top of their staff being so knowledgeable, and helping me to explain what i need more in depth and not just letting me buy the wrong thing, we will definitely be coming back.
