These guys are great. Just got to the island and was surprised to find this hometown kind of shop near me.They gave me a great deal on a used, like new yamaha acoustic.I later went back to get a setup done on a guitar that played like a log.About 5 hrs. later, they called me and it was done, and now plays like butter. Time flies but when you go back to your roots, it feels like yesterday you walked through the doors. Gary and Bob were awesome as always and it felt good talking to them and hearing from them that they remember me, but I look more different cause of my beard now. I am a repeat customer and always enjoyed the friendly service. I have bought several baritone ukuleles of various value and was always satisfied. However, today I spoke with Chris? And confirmed that I wanted to purchase the cheaper of the two that he said they have. At 4:30 pm I called him to let him know that I was on my way. He stated that they were filming inside the store but he would meet me outside and said I got you I thanked him. When I got there he informed me that he sold the ukulele!!! I was visibly bummed. He said that the customer had the ukulele in his hand and he didnt want to tell him no. I asked if they still had the more expensive one ($500) nah was ($200) for real. He said yup, so I told him I would purchase it. I went to the ATM and even paid the additional fee because he said would be more convenient so I said sure. I got back just as he was coming from the back. Ukulele in hand, no case or box or receipt. He even threw in a tuner. I was stocked. In my excitement I tried to tune it as soon as i got to my car. Was having difficulties from the very start. Eventually even with the tuner. Really bummed. I ripped the strings right off the uke. Even burned the tuner with my altered torch. Luckily it was enough to destroy the tuner. If I am not able to get a replacement one, even if its cheaper one then I will be handling this matter between Chris and myself(Scott T Kurosu). 👊🏽 I was very impressed by Chriss quick response. I was able to go down the very next day and after hearing my feeliepairedengs about the situation he offered to replace my uke. However I would have to wait for the next delivery. I asked him if he could repair my uke, nothing fancy just as long as it works. He repaired it and also gave me $100 out of his own pocket. I am very grateful and happy. True to their name they are good guys. As a novice they were very friendly and helpful immediately identifying my needs. They answered every question I had with understanding and joy. From what I could tell they knew their stuff, adapting to any level of guitar or ukulele player. Would recommend!

If you plan on selling them a guitar understand they will only give you 50% of used retail price. Which means they will make 25% profit off you. While you lose 50% profit. Sell your own gear. 50% lose is too much

They are so nice, and have very great selection of guitars, basses, and ukuleles. From entry level to some very nice vtg pieces. Excellent service. Very fair pricing. If I lived on Oahu, this would be my go to shop. Thanks guys.

These guys really are good. Hiko helped me find the perfect ukulele at half the price of Waikki shops, and we had lots of fun looking at the great collection of old and new instruments and amps for sale. Its a comfortable old-style music store and they really know their stuff. Even gave us good advice about which bus to take to our next adventure. Really nice and friendly guys.

I was interested in buying a more Hawaiian-style ukulele on my visit here and wanted to go to a store not completely geared toward tourists, and goodguys was the best find! They were so kind and helpful, seriously knew their stuff, had an awesome selection, and even had a used case available to take my new uku home in! Would absolutely recommend!

Tiny shop thats jam packed with instruments and gear. Although rather cramped, the people there are cool and the atmosphere is relaxed. I like it there.

Got my first uke from them a couple days ago. Really fair prices on decent instruments! Staff was really warm and Welcoming. When I asked about accesories he made some reccomendations but he told me honestly what I would and wouldnt need at my budget range. Might come by and pick up some new toys soon just /because/ he didnt try to upsell me. Dont go to waikiki and get touristy junk and/or overpriced items, come here, keep your money local! you guys are true to your name, mahalo! 🤙

Bought a pedal there while holidaying in Hawaii, it occurred to me the next day I should buy a good ol American pedal, instead of a Chinese pedal, ecspecially while in the states. The staff didnt feel the same, and seemed that it was a big deal to make an exchange. I wouldnt go back.

A lot of instruments in a small shop. Is this the cheapest ukulele such as Kamaka or Koaroha?

When I went there, there was a Japanese clerk clerk who taught me very kindly to find souvenirs for my band members.There seems to be a restaurant where Japanese people gather, and some regular customers can speak Japanese.I couldnt take my guitar home, so I had to suggest until I was convinced that I could buy an effector to buy as a souvenir, and I could buy a bargain effector that I couldnt buy in Japan (at a very low price).If you have a chance to travel to Honolulu, this is a place you should definitely visit.

Searching for a bargain is recommended.There are various products at various prices.However, I cant see the price ... Its just a line on the ceiling and a sticker on the base of the neck, so I have to pull it down one by one.Most of the Akogi are found in Takamine, and the inside is very different.Several parking lots can be parked in front of the adjacent pizzeria.Its available till late, so its recommended to postpone it.Akogi is not a very good lineup, but it is cheap and can be dug up.If you dont care about US ...

It takes courage to open the door where you cant see the inside of the store, but when you enter, its surprisingly deep, the number of items is reasonable, and the clerk is friendly and keeps a good sense of distance. There is also an original pick at this store, so it is perfect for souvenirs (25 cents per sheet!)

A Japanese (Japanese-American?) Clerk will be willing to help you in any way.He asked me how to bring the electric guitar home, but gave up because it was different depending on the airline (JAL asked). Nevertheless, he tried to play multiple guitars without a bad face.

Buy a Suzuki guitar, used to play the streets of Hawaii. Po 100 greens, a great goal. I asked them for a cover and they were 40, which didnt make sense. So I asked them if they had any bag ... and they brought me an old guitar case and all fluffy !! They fixed it with scissors and a rope and they gave it to me for free !! Very kind! Really GOOOOOOD GUYS !! These people appreciated music and musicians !!
