I went in window shopping, and i was amazed at how much they carried for being a small town store. I had several come up and ask if they could help me . I asked questions about the peeps they had in stock and the salesperson was knowledgeable, pointed me to what i would need to start off and even thou they were all females they still showed me how to sex them, how to handle, and even how to pick the correct peeps for me on their temperament. I felt i could really trust their word and so far i have very happy chickens. THANK YOU.

What a great place to shop for our feed, garden needs, They sell ducks, chicks etc. They are very courteous, Helpful and they help you put your purchases In your vehicle.

Do not use this place!! I was referred under a warranty company for my pressure washer and the store indicated the repair would be covered under my warranty. They did not call me to tell me that they found out it was not covered under warranty and then proceeded to charge me over $80 for the repair. They never called to tell me that I would be charged and when I came to the store I was told that in order to get my $250 power washer back I need to pay them $80 on the spot. Tim said It is their policy to only notify a customer if the amount exceeds 50% of the equipment however this is not written anywhere and Tim says “ Its a long standing policy of ours”. Tim then stated its the “policy” thats been in place since they opened in 1940. I informed him it was now 2021 and they should inform the customer if not in writing then at least by phone to expect a bill. Tim did not feel 80 dollars was a big deal and stood with his arms crossed over his chest stating pay the bill or you dont get the machine. I will find out via my lawyer if this is acceptable practice legally but i will say morally it is not. I encourage everyone not to have any machine fixed here, they will con you and say it is covered under a warranty and then bill you with no follow up. Good thing i have everything on video for the lawyers to review. If i could give them a negative number i would, they dont even deserve a 1. Tim said only 2 customers a year would complain about this so called “ policy” so he felt that was not a bad percentage. Unbelievable, i cant believe people are just handing over money to this place. Extremely poor tactics and customer services.

Convenient, quick hardware/feed store. Parking can be a little tricky, but recommend for most things needed to maintain your yard/garden/animals. The guys are great for offering advice. They will carry stuff to your car for you too.

Walked in on 7/8/17 looking for a weed eater and was impressed with the service I received. They sold me on an Echo unit and even filled out and filed the warranty information for me. Before I left they filled the weed eater with fuel and made sure it ran before I got home to use it. I would definitely come back for all my outdoor power product needs.

Was waiting for someone to get my order. There was a man at a computer that looked like he was not so busy doing something on that computer. He kept glancing at me but never asked if I needed help. There was other men but they were busy with other customers. Will only go there if it were the VERY last store I could find.

I loved the staff except, they were very friendly. I did not have the best experience working with T.J.. I had called at one point about having my push mower worked on, when I talked to the staff on the sales floor they were very kind but not as direct as they needed to be. I tried to clarify that Id prefer if someone could call me before they worked on the mower if there would be repairs needed beyond what the warranty covers and they insisted that wouldnt be a problem. About 2 weeks later I get a call from T.J. explaining that after looking at the mower it seems like I just neglected to raise the wheels high enough to cut our grass properly. Honest mistake on my part! I totally get it. But then, he told me the bill for looking at the mower would be about $40! After talking on the phone the only reasoning I could get from him is that he needed to be paid for his time.Fast forward to the next day, I went into the store to sort this out. I talked to the guy who initially told me I would get a call about any costs on my part before anything was done to the mower. All he told me was he was sorry he did not clarify, and that it wouldnt happen next time. Finally I just outright say that I was not comfortable with paying for something I did not agree to pay for in the first place and had I been told there would be a $40 bill for just looking at the mower I wouldnt have dropped it off there.He was very polite and just told me he would get the manager to sort this out. The manager apologized for the entire ordeal and told me that I actually was supposed to be charged $10 up front for looking at a push mower, and the reason for that is to pay the repairman for his time looking at the mower, or it would be reimbursed to me if my warranty covered repairs to me.I thought this was fair; and although I was annoyed that the whole mistake happened and had I not disagreed to paying $40 I likely would have paid $30 more than needed, I was happy there was resolution.

I took my mower in to get one thing fixed. They found 3 other things wrong and fixed them. Did not call to tell me or ask before replacing the other items. So I walk in there expecting to pay a certain amount and it more than double that. So be careful when taking things in there to be worked on. They will screw you over and then say the work has been already performed!!This place sucks!!!!!!

Buddy of mine took his riding lawn mower with deck vibration issue. Thinking the warranty will cover. found out a gumball got stuck in the pulley This store Charged too much! $185+tax is too much to pay for a gumball stuck in the pulley. All it take is a screwdriver to poke it out. They charged $185 this is a ripoff. They also keep all the mowers outside in the rain and sun. This ended up getting water in the fuel system. Without thinking my Buddy paid for that also. Cannot shop here anymore

I took some equipment for repairs and was immediately consumed with cigarette smoke when I entered the building. The smoke got worse as I approached the counter. There was a woman working at the counter and she was smoking like a chimney. I thought it was obnoxious and rude.

It is sort of mom and pops place. They have all sorts of hardware and supplies. I needed some chemicals to take care of bugs around the house and they were very helpful and accommodating to my need.It would be very helpful if you could bring your own parking space with you. I think the whole town uses their parking lot since there was only couple of customers and a peaking lot full of cars. Welcome to Hopewell, va. And by the way dont go to dmv. There computers are not working which seems to be a permanent situation. 😀

Brought a chainsaw in for service. After picking up noticed that the oiler was not oiling the bar and chain. Took it back at which point they said they adjusted it. It still was not oiling chain. Took bar and chain off and saw no oil coming out of oil line. Took clutch off and noticed oil pump leaking oil all over shaft, bearing, and clutch. Oil pump was not functioning and leaking oil and not pumping oil through line. Hopewell Feed and Seed said they test the oiler which is a complete lie bc oil pump was not operational. Replaced oiler pump myself and now chainsaw functions properly.

Sent a mower in for warranty repair they called me 11 days later and said my mower was ready I ask how much they said 163 it wasnt a warranty issue but if it wasnt covered under warranty I should have been notified they are shady people after arguing with them for 15 minutes they finally adjusted the price I still wasnt happy but had to pay something or I would not get my mower back
