I called about a broken piece from my Lazy Boy recliner. Sarah, Herb Hays Service Dept, was very helpful. I sent her a picture of the piece. John, the repair tech, who came right over and replaced the broken piece. I was amazed at the quick response. We have been buying furniture from Herb Hays since we moved to Hopkinsville in 2004. This repair is one of the many reasons we deal with them👍

My husband and I went in today to buy a sofa and love seat, cash in hand. We found one we liked and was ready to pay. The sales person left and came back and said he was sorry it had to be ordered. Bought a couch that didnt last two years. Tried to use warranty we purchased then pandemic hit. We understand a delay with the pandemic but this was the first excuse, then we were told there was a backlog of claims, we were then told a different insurance company was handling our claim. Each time we had to contact the store owner. My wife tried to follow up with the store owner who then said she had not spoken to me. We tried to follow-up again today and the store told us they did not handle claims. In short, poor quality, poor customer service, and businesses like this are why local owners struggle.

I have very mixed reviews. We went to Herb Hays on Saturday. We were looking to purchase 2 couches and a recliner. The sales persons name was Sarah. When thinking about new living room furniture, a typical person puts a lot of thought into what they want. Everything I picked out couch wise, wasnt in stock. So I modified my want list and decided on two chairs. After a long search and being told they wont sell off the floor. Found a couch, found 2 chairs, now the search for a recliner... Of course the one we wanted wasnt in stock. We settled on a recliner. Sarah went to write us up. She comes back and one of my chairs was sold and I couldnt have the floor model. I was upset, but what upset me the most and made me walk out of the store was when Sarah said, customers do this to us all of the time (in the context of get upset). Well. I was DONE! Sorry Sarah, for trying to shop local and spend $4000+ at your place of employment. We left.We went somewhere else and both 2 couches. But we could not find a recliner that we liked. We decided to go back to Herb Hays on Tuesday afternoon. The recliner we picked out on Saturday was no longer in stock, but we could buy the FLOOR MODEL! (Shocked because we were told all day Saturday that the floor models were NOT an option). I told our new salesperson, Brandon, that the recliner my husband really wanted was a different one. And guess what. They had it! And it was on clearance!Strange how things work out. I got my living room furniture that I set out for. And even though we wasted an entire day on Saturday, Herb Hays came through on a Tuesday. Thank you Brandon. Because of your knowledge, we will return again.

Easy! Mandy asked what we were looking for, pointed out the options, and (the best part) didnt hassle us. Instead, she said, i will leave you alone to browse and i will be right over here. Didnt take us long to find our new furniture after that. We called her back over and then she explained all options. This is how sales should be. No hassle, no gimmicks, no problems. We spent a total, including paying, of a half hour in the store. So easy! Way to go, Mandy!!

I have to say the folks at Herb Hays are pretty amazing, from the free delivery for prior service and current military to arriving early for delivery. Also when assembling furniture the crew put down moving pads so they wouldnt scuff the floor. I will definitely be doing business with them again.
