Not new to fishing but new to bass fishing...I went to another tackle store not going to mention the name (don’t believe in bad mouthing anyone) had a bad experience so one of my buddies referered me to this spot...GRANT aka G-money! In the tackle department not only specializes in rods reels and baits but he is a one man show!! I used to be in retail, sales and customer service (15years experience) it is VERY challenging working with the public day in and day out ...I was VERY impressed how he maintains professionalism and treats EVERY person that walks in the store with kindness and service! In a fast paced retail environment ..have to admit I was intimidated walking in there because it’s the go to spot for many serious anglers and pros in Texas, but everyone treats you like one of the fellas!..listen to grant when it comes to selection of baits and rods the dude won’t steer you wrong!, because of him when I’m in the market for a boat, rod and reel set up or anything I REFUSE to go anywhere else..LOVE this place!!!...buy the way sense going to fun n sun and talking to grant I’ve SMASHED my Pb from a 3lbs to an 8!
I loved the service I got from Fun N Sun! These guys treated me really good. I bought a 24 year old Gambler and they treated me like I’d purchased a $50,000 bass boat! Brian is a super nice guy and not pushy like most people who sell to the public. The service Dept. was also very good as they answered my many questions and again treated my boat like a brand new one in my opinion. This is my first purchase of a boat at the age of 48 but I promise you some day when I get ready to upgrade...(if you can upgrade from a classic like the Gambler)...I’ll be back here at Fun N Sun! When I entered the store I was greeted by a gentleman in the bait and tackle was very nice and showed me what I was looking for. The boats sales guy was very disrespectfulHe just pointed towards the pontoon boats. With out asking any questions. Being the only Hispanic in the building it felt very disrespectful, and was discriminated against. The salesman dashed over to help another customer which was white. I guess people of colordont get treated the same.

Fane came through. I appreciate these guys and their effort to make sure youre happy. Bought a used Triton 06 and there was a few issues after my first times out. They fixed every thing you could expect and more to make sure I was on the water safely. Glad I did not buy from a private sale, look forward to buying my next boat with them. A friend recommended me to them and I can see why.
I purchased a new 1985 Skeeter, new from them. I purchased a new 96 Champion from the Cleburne store. I DID NOT end up purchasing a new Phoenix boat from them. I gave them every opportunity to come and play ball with the other quotes on the same boat, apple to apple bells and whistles on the boat I was wanting to purchase. One salesman told me they werent apples to apples, he was right. There humminbird was a orange and a cheaper model. The other quotes had the Lowrance Live. Much better unit. All in all, they were 3500 to 4000 dollars MORE with their out the door quote. You can buy these same boats in Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi. I didnt try Arkansas, maybe you can. Do your homework and reward your pocketbook. They told me they were the largest. Oh well, I probably bought from the smallest.Well I finally found a Phoenix 721xpro. I found it at Toho Marine in St. Cloud Florida. Its a 2017, 100 hours on the mercury 250 with warranty till 2023. 9 year warranty on the hull. Fully loaded with 12 inch lowrance hds live on console, 9 on bow, Minn Kota 112 spot lock, blade power poles, am/Fm stereo, remotes for blades & Minn Kota trolling. Tandem axles with brakes. And a custom Phoenix boat cover. Why buy in Florida? Because its a narrow state with water on all sides, and tons of freshwater lakes on the inside of the state. Ive never seen so many boat dealers, so close together, in every city of the state. I thought Texas had some boats. We dont even come close to the number of new and used boats that are in Florida.Good luck, there are better deals out there if your willing to look and save a few thousand dollars. I ended up saving, literally 6000.00 on my used boat compared to what I saw while shopping.
Today is Friday 8/28/20. Came in and walked the entire showroom looking to buy a boat and was never greeted or asked if I needed help. Now I understand why there are the negative reviews I’ve seen here. Won’t be back and I suggest you consider another dealer.
Buying the boat was an easy experience. Since weve had the boat weve had numerous problems, including bad batteries, and now Im writing this review sitting in the middle of lake Ray Hubbard stranded after the motor crapped out and wont turn over. This is after having an entirely new lower unit installed about 2 weeks ago. I havent been very impressed with the experience thus far. Theyre difficult to get ahold of and with the exception of maybe 2 people, arent very customer service oriented. With the problems Ive had and the money wasted taking this thing back and forth from Rockwall to Hurst, its not an exaggeration to say were considering exploring a lemon law claim.

Once that happens I will update the review to state that.------ Update ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Started working with Curtis on May 6th and as of.today they have made things partially right so I am going to change the review to 3 stars_______________________________________________________________First of all I have two different experiences here so I am going this is going to be rather lengthy.About a year ago I went to Fun N Sun to get a used boat. This experience was great. They gave me a great trade in for my old boat. The salesperson was very responsive and they worked with me with financing and I got out the door with the boat that I wanted. That was when the great experience ended. The experience might be different when people buy a new boat, but I am guessing those that buy used boats are not considered to be in the same class, but that is just an assumption of mine.Right after I bought the boat I wanted to get a new engine cover from their parts department (my neighbor had a new Skeeter and they gave him one for free). For me to get one It was going to cost 150 dollars which was their cost. That was fine and I told them to go ahead and get it. I was a little put out because I was advertising for them, but whatever. I waited about a week and contacted the salesperson again and they still hadnt come in (Apparently they outsourced it), but he would call me when they got it in. 2 weeks later and I still had not gotten the item that I needed so I called back and he said he would check on it. I never did receive a call back or anything so i just gave up. I will be replacing it with one that doesnt have their name on it in the near future.Fast forward to 2 weeks ago. I got a flat tire on my trailer and I sent a request to them using their contact form to the parts department seeing if they carry the tires with the rims so that I can have something that matches. I wait a week without hearing back from them so decide to call the store. I called and the secretary transfers me to the parts department and I leave a detailed message about what I am looking for and as of now I still have not heard anything back from them.And lastly I had to take my trailer in this last week to fix some minor issues I was seeing. I got the call today with what was wrong with the trailer. I had 1100 dollars worth of damages that need to be repaired because the previous owner has run the trailer into the ground (the owner of the trailer shops words not mine). This wouldnt bother me as much if they would have told me the trailer needed to be looked at and repaired before I took it. With the issues that I am having to get fixed on the trailer I could have wrecked at any time and hurt myself or killed someone as big as that boat is. This is something that all boat dealers should look at before they let someone else buy their used boats.I know this is a rather long review, but I think people need to know before they go to this dealership.If you are looking for a new boat they might be alright, but personally this is the last time I will be giving them any of my business.Thanks for reading.Kyle

This is the second time in a row that a repair was done incorrectly, this time, their installation failed and will cost me over $1100 to fix even though it is their fault. About 3 months ago I had my Talons fixed through Fun N Sun. After only three trips to local lakes, all four bolts that hold the Talons to the Jack Plate came loose, with one coming out completely. When this happened, the Talon swung forward and put 3 dents and 1 hole in the boat. They deny that it is possible they didnt install them correctly, yet when the shop that corrected the problem looked at it, they showed me that not only did they not install it correctly, they didnt use the proper nuts to secure the Talons. They put two regular, non locking steel nuts back to back on each of the 4 bolts. The marine shop that fixed it uses 8 bolts with nylon and steel locking nuts and then torques them down. The managers explanation at Fun N Sun is, and I kid you not, that if you leave there and it doesnt fall off after the first use, then it is installed properly. He then went on to say it was my fault for not tightening down all the nuts and screws after every use as he says he does. I find this arrogance incredibly condescending since they cant admit they didnt install them correctly, and I couldnt find one person that I know, or one guide of the several I asked after this happened that told me that my expectation should be that those Talons should come loose and fall off after 3 uses in 3 months. Almost everyone said they check their stuff once a year. What is more aggravating is that the only item that had loose nuts anywhere on or near the Talons were the ones they installed, no other nuts on the Jack Plate, Talons, Motor or anywhere else was loose, so why werent any other bolts/nuts loose other than the ones they installed?. Then Montes reaction was to hide behind the owners manual telling me that it says to tighten everything after every use. Dont know if it says that and doesnt matter; when everything else is fine and the one thing that should be on tighter than any other item on that boat due to it being worked on 3 months ago, well anyone can put two and two together. Montes offer for the $1100 worth of damage was a $200 credit to, as he said get rid of the problem and make it go away. I declined the offer. Over that last 16 months we have almost exclusively used Fun N Sun for repairs costing thousands of dollars. Their basic response was that theyve done this repair before so they could not have done it wrong. I think logic says the only thing that went wrong was their repair and it will now cost over $1100 to repair the effects from their last repair. He also acknowledged at this time after questioning him that dont need my business anymore. What a way to treat customers!

This is a friendly knowledgeable group .I purchased the new Riptide trolling motor with auto deploy on Amazon and had their service department install it along with batterys and a 3 bank charger.Normally I can do just about anything but was not up to drilling holes into my new hurricane fundeck. They did a great job at a fare price.they have a great selection of plastic baits too.Highly recommended! 5 ☆☆☆☆☆

My experience with the Hurst location was two thumbs down. I dont have it in me to type the two-page story and to be honest I still cannot figure out what really happened. The entire store except one young lady is clueless about using Yamaha Finance. I guess they didnt need my measly $2,000 sale.

Sales staff is top notch, hard to beat great guys and finance was easy, sadly the warranty repair side of this company lacks alot with long turn around times on simple things, not to mention not installing all accessories that come with add ons (shock absorber on trolling motor for example) buy your boat here if ya like take it else where for work.
Parts manager was a complete dick, and smartass wouldnt work on my 96 skeeter bass boat said it was to old to put a hydraulic steer system on and he wouldnt even let his guys touch the boat.. worst customer service manager i have ever dealt with and will not be back...

Customer service here is very poor! Called to buy a boat and got the run around every time I called. They were either to busy or already out for the day. Left my number and still never got a call back. If your looking for a boat go elsewhere!

Very bad experience bought a boat from them last year had problems with it from day one took back to them several times they kept telling me everything was ok took it to someone else after spending thousands more trying to get it running right they found a crack in the block took it back and told them there was a crack they did a thousand dollars worth of work on and told me to pick up when a asked about the crack they didnt look for it after all that i got stuck with a 25,000 dollar lemon that they left the plug in whaen it rain had to drain in lot before I could leave for 15 min soaking all electronics
