I dropped off a pole chain saw to have the fuel system cleaned, trigger replaced, and paid a standard deposit of $60. I received a call the next day informing me that the entire motor had been disassembled to check the compression which was not an issue with the tool and was not requested. The quote for work from them was $229, when a brand new saw costs $220. I complained, asked to have the initial requested repair done-something that typically costs $60-$90 on the high end-and they quoted me a new price at $170. I refused to pay that amount, and my tool was returned to me completely disassembled in a box. I asked if they planned on putting it back together, and they refused. They then kept the deposit. I asked to speak to the owner, and he mumbled incoherently(he was visibly drunk) as he walked away and refused to make eye contact. The manager womans eyes were also bloodshotwhen she verbally attacked me for complaining about the service, and told me in broken english I have you arrested, you trespassing. The problem originated with their repair shop man, a short and disheveled dwarf looking character named Nathan who considered what he had done(disassembling the entire machine to diagnose a clogged carburetor) to be proper procedure. Essentially, they were trying to hold my equipment hostage and gouge me. I will never shop at this place again, and I hope this doesnt happen to anyone else. I have written to stop payment on the card. I pressure wash for a living, and I guarantee satisfaction with my work. Ive never made someones home or business dirtier than when I found it, then demanded money. I would expect to be laughed at, if not sued. I feel bad for the woman who works the cash register, she was very nice and helpful to the extent she was able to be.-Matt Fleming
Great bunch of guys, helpful and friendly. Always get the job done.
Buyer beware! Bought a $3500 generator from them. Arrived completely damaged! They refuse to do anything!
Such a pleasure to work with the sales staff at Causeway mowers. Just purchased a Like new Kubota Kommander Z121S with a 48 inch deck and 21HP kohler engine for just over 4 grand. Ive been very happy with the staff for years. Kudos to Tom. Thank you all
I am 100% levelled Buy the poor customer service that I received at causeway mowers. My son and wife tried to do something nice and buy me a chainsaw For Christmas from a local company which we prefer to use. But the people at causeway mowers have turned something nice into a stressful Situation. My son set up the chainsaw for me and I used it and it worked great for about 45 minutes. After the last time of it shutting it off it would not start again So like any normal person would do since it was brand new take it back to the person that sold it to you and ask them if they could help you with the issue. The mechanic took the saw and tried to start it and felt that there was some issue with it and since it was under warranty took it in the back to work on it. I came back After a couple daysTo see if all was good and it was ready to go.The mechanic was not working that day and no one had Any answers for me. So they took my number and said they would call When the mechanic was back in. Fast forward 2 weeks when I finally had a chance to stop in. I sit and wait to be helped and then give someone my information asking them about the saw and am told that the only thing wrong with the saw was it was flooded and needed a new spark plug. Reminder the saw has only been ran for 45 minutes of its life and needed a new spark plug because the spark plug was fouled? Because it was flooded it was not covered under warranty supposably My question was how does something flood why it is running if theres not something wrong with it? At this point I am shown how to use it properly in about 2 seconds flip this turn this pull this And then it doesnt work for him on the 2nd try. At this point I am told that I owe $32.09 For labour and a new spark plug. Mind you this is a $400 saw that has worked for 45 minutes purchased from them by my son for a gift And Ive had to take it in for service already ! I dont know how most people would handle this but if this was my business I would definitely handle it a little different ! Since the customer is already having issue with a product I sold .That is a supposed to be the top of the line. I reached out for solutions and was told I have to pay my mechanic. I also asked if there was a way for me To trade this product for a more user friendly one And was told they could sell it on consignment for me at a 20% commission and then we could put that money towards the more user friendly item. That is causeway mowers customer service at its finest!Trying to keep customers And gain new ones Wow Im Blown AwayAnd thanks again for ruining my Christmas Present.
Quick turn around getting my moms mower working and a reasonable price.
Awesome! I went to Causeway Mowers to drop off my Zero turn Mower that would not start. While dropping off, I explained to them that I had previous warranty work done at another company and the problem did not appear to be fixed, but only worse. A few days later Kevin called me and explained to me what the problem was. Not only was Kevin professional and extremely nice, he kept open communication throughout the whole process. It ended up I needed a new engine due to the other companies poor work. I picked up my mower yesterday, bought other things as needed. Great place, Great Customer Service. I will return to Causeway Mowers for anything I need. Thank You Kevin and everyone at Causeway Mowers.
Wouldnt go back! Brought my edger there for a gas leak. Brought it home, still a gas leak. Brought it back, they charged me more $ to repair their first mess up, and wrote on the ticket no warranty. Brought it home, still leaking gas. Clearly they are clueless and dont back up their shoddy workmanship. I need more equipment too. Not buying there, ever.
These guys are always on point and respectful and always most of the time ALWAYS have what I’m looking for.
Not at all happy with their service. Brought a newly bought used Troybuilt with a bad deck belt. When I picked it up, the costs was considerably higher than the estimate. Sure, things happen. Then, written on the invoice was bad blades. What they didnt do is call me to tell me that so I could authorize the replacement. Next, after spending about $250, they couldnt, as sort off a routine matter, simply pull and check the plug and the air filter, both of which I come to find were in terrible shape. Did they have to do that? No. But by their failure, it shows they dont have your back as a repair facility. Ill go somewhere else next time.
This is the worst place ever when it comes to rigid repairs. They had my tools for over two months and did not repair it. Evelyn is rude and very unprofessional. She bad talks rigid and and treat people like trash. Do not take your tools here to be repaired. You will be disappointed
I purchased my Toro Timemaster from Causeway Mowers and had a few potential warranty issues involving excess noise and a torn deflector after the first mow. Cody and Evelyn repaired it under warranty even though the torn deflector could have been my fault. I doubt a big box store would have provided that level of service. I believe you get better service and information when you shop at an authorized service center.
Bought a new Honda mower here. Very friendly.Fair prices and they had everything I needed. Even received a Christmas card from them. Excellent service.
Great store for yard equipment and Great Hospetality and Well help You find what you need Thanks Causeway Mowers.
Brought in a Power Washer for repair. They informed me that repair would take over a month because they were busy. I agreed to this. Six weeks later I was informed that my unit had been repaired and was available for pickup. When I went to pick up my washer it was BADLY CORRODED. The unit was left with them in excellent condition but needed some carburetor work. They had stored my unit exposed to the weather elements for over a month. They claimed that their storage area is under a tarp. DONT BELIEVE IT. I will never use them again for any equipment that I value.
In the past 25 years as a homeowner, I have purchased 3 Toro mowers, 1 Honda generator, and the parts to maintain them from Causeway Mowers. In every case they have been there for me with the sale and the follow up maintenance. Their prices are very fair and competitive. Evelyn has always been exceptionally helpful and pleasant.
Have gone here for over 20 years. Best place in Melbourne/Palm Bay! Staff is always friendly and ready to help and they are very reasonable on their prices.
Knowledgeable and a very helpful staff located at this location. I drove all the way from St Cloud to do business with them.
Guys were awesome. Helped select a great zero turn mower. Delivered same day. Couldnt ask for nicer guys to work with or better service. If your thinking about checking them out, do it. They are very professional and super helpful. Answered all my question and concerns... will be using these guys for the foreseeable future...AR.
Always good . Thats how family should treat each other!
I used to be a Causeway Mowers customer a while back, but stopped doing business with them. A few years ago I ran into Doug the Sales Manager at Causeway Mowers who convinced me to do business with them again. I have been satisfied with their customer service and the attention I have received from the Owner Kevin Shelton. They have the best mechanic Keith with 30 years of experience and he works in all my equipment and I am a very satisfied with his work. Kevin Shelton is a great person to do business with and I will continue to visit the store for all my landscaping equipment.PS if you want anything done at Causeway Mowers, go see Evelyn.
If you need a part for Stihl anything they probably have it. Great service and staff. If Im beach side thats where Im goin!
Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Went in with a general idea of what I needed, Sebastion filled in the blanks and I purchased a quality product that met; if not exceeded, my needs. Ill deal with the business in the future.
My husband has been giving Causeway Mowers his business for many years in part to support this small business…at least until today. Our 5 year old mower we purchased from Causeway Mowers started having issues so a week ago, my husband decided to purchase a new mower from Causeway Mowers and have them put the old mower on consignment. The gentleman behind the counter told my husband that even though our paperwork showed the mower was no longer under warranty, this gentleman assured my husband that the manufacturer of the mower would indeed cover the repair even though the warranty had expired. So decision was made to go thru with a no cost repair. A week later, my husband contacted the store to see if the mower was ready. Causeway Mowers said it was but that the mower was NOT under warranty, our mower was ready to pick up for a cost of $123! No one ever called to say the repairs would not be covered and to inquire if we wanted to have it repaired. But it only gets worse. My husband went down to discuss this situation and was told Causeway Mowers needed to recoup their costs due to the mower not being under warranty…so either pay up or we couldn’t get our mower back. To settle the dispute, my husband decided to purchase a brand new mower, and let the vendor recoup what they could on the old. When he got home and we took it out of the box, we discovered the front wheels were not aligned correctly and the front of the mower looked bent. So we packaged it back up and took it back today. My husband was talking to a very nice lady behind the counter to get this situation resolved. Causeway Mowers agreed to accept the return of the new mower; however, while frustrated, but calmly discussing the issue of payment regarding the old/NOT under warranty mower, the owner, Kevin, got involved. Kevin told the nice lady to contact their lawyer, that my husband and I would have to pay court costs on top of losing the mower then looked at my husband said “I’m going have to ask you to leave the store”! The nice lady told my husband to stay and they worked at reducing the cost of the mower repair by a small amount. In the discussions behind the counter between the woman and the mechanic, my husband discerned that the 2 of them, who were not responsible in any way for these circumstances, would have to pay out of their own pocket - NOT the owner of the store! Due to Kevin’s “Customer- NOT- first” attitude, we will NEVER again give our business to Causeway Mowers. Hopefully there’s another small business that deserves our business (or it will go to the big box stores).
Causeway Mowers is the best mower shop, by far!!!! Kevin, Doug, Evelyn, and everyone on staff do their BEST to meet your needs. Bought mower 1 year ago and it was the easiest process I have ever experienced. I have delt with at least 10 companies and they are the best. Big company, small company, homeowners, it dont matter. Also, did i mention, they work on ANY equipment no matter what the brand is and they DONT hold against you if you didnt purchase said equipment at their place. Enough said, they build customers for life!!
Ive been going to Causeway Mowers for years. Kevin (the owner) works hard to make sure that his customers are happy. If there is ever an issue, they will do their best to make it right. Ive bought all of my lawn equipment from them and they do all of my repairs and whenever Ive been in a jam Kevin has tried his best to help me out. I highly recommend them.
All in all this was a terrible experience. There is something very wrong with the inner workings of this repair shop. They seemed unorganized, and extremely reluctant to do the right thing. The repair was mishandled every step of the way. When things went wrong they took the path of least resistance. Which happened to be billing me and holding my property hostage. I’m fairly certain that this is their go-to tactic, as the girl on the phone seemed very comfortable slipping into the role of the sleazy pawn shop owner. There is one more thing that needs to be mentioned in this review. There are a lot of 5-star reviews for this company. That is due to a sign that is placed on the cash register to the right. They will give a $10 discount on a purchase of $50 or more if you leave a review. This is not illegal, but it is certainly shady. Nothing that Causeway Mowers did to me was illegal, but it was certainly shady.Due to Google only allowing 4000 characters for reviews I could not post the entire story of what happened. If you would like to know more about my experience look it up on Yelp.Edit: Im typing this to refute the claims the owner made below. 1) Evelyn called to tell my father that she would be refunding the money for our repair, and he agreed to drop by your shop to get it. Which he did. He never did nor would he have agreed to bring that pressure washer back to you.2) Whether or not the machine was covered under warranty your shop claimed that they repaired the faulty pump, and tried to charge me accordingly. The pump was in fact in worse shape after I got it back. In the attached picture you can see the oil that was leaking from it after a short test run. 3) The pressure washer was a Husqvarna not a Husky. If you dont want to repair or service warrantys on items from big box stores then dont. But that needs to be dealt with on the front end of business. 4) I dont quite understand what this sentence means. I assume you tried to doxx my business, and are trying to bash the type of business that I run. That is completely irrelevant in regards to this situation. Your shop completely bungled the repair of my machine. That has nothing to do with the type of business I run.
I have been doing business with Causeway Mowers for years. They always have a big selection. They answer all my questions.Need a gift for a guy? You are at the right place, this is like shoes/ clothes for women. Fathers Day is coming up, Great place to shop for Dad.The are very friendly and knowledgeable.
Good Fast Service
Friendly staff with fair prices. Never had a bad experience here plus there a toro dealer!
Good, knowledgeable people, (without being condescending to beginners). Prices are not cheap, but are fair. Quality is seldom cheap, but buying inferior merchandise can be very expensive, as the item generally never does what it was advertised to do. Being partial to Stihl products, this is my go-to place. Worth checking them out.
Bent over backwards to find a part that I needed in an emergency. Plus very pleasant staff. Beautiful, well-equipped store.
Great deal on a used mower. Top of the line.
Over the last 10+ years, Ive always been able to get what I need at Causeway Mowers particularly when it comes to trimmers and associated parts. The best advice ever offered was use the ethanol free gas, the tools will always fire up. Yup, ever since that day, Ive used ethanol-free fuel in my mower and trimmer and never have an issue.
Has always been able to solve any lawn equipment problem. Complete range of choices and parts. Very good staff and will talk with you on the problem before spending $ to fix something that is not worth fixing. Will return for future needs.Recommend highly!-Harris
Owner, Kevin is very professional and has a well trained friendly staff. Always able to repair all my equipment. Tony, the repairman stands behind everything he repairs and shows you how to properly work the equipment. In summary, great customer service!!!
Fast, affordable and friendly service! AND, they’re smart enough to be open on Saturday. 💪🏼👏🏼 Needed a mower tire replaced. Waited for me to arrive and had it done in 15 mins or less.
Large selection of quality landscaping tools. I have purchase new equipment here and returned for service. Technicians are helpful and let you know how to maintain your tools. Friendly, helpful counter staff.
Sebastian Meacham was very helpful & provided excellent service- we will be back to purchase more
Found what I needed, easy peasy
They gave back my zero turn and my zero turn did not work. I gave it to them in working condition. They did not do anything for me. Unbelievable bad service. I always thought it was if you break it you pay for it.
Everything you need for working on the yard! Personally or professionally
The place to go for homeowners or business owners. Great Staff! Always courteous and helpful. Great Inventory.
Great service. Satisfied every time Ive been in there. Returned a blower that I was unhappy with the next day after I purchased it . Kevin let me upgrade to another blower. Extremely happy with the experience.
This shop is full of excuses. They’ve had my pressure washer sitting in their shop for over a month and haven’t even had a technician LOOK at it. Every week I call and get a song and dance, mostly rude customer service, and no resolution. Won’t be using this shop ever again, for anything. East side mowers or A-1 can have my business. They blamed the long extended time of sitting because of our “hurricane” we never had, that took place 3 weeks ago lol.
Causeway Mowers & Lawn Supplies is amazing! The customer service is wonderful! They always make sure to put the customer first. The people are so friendly and do whatever they can to make up for mistakes they make or any problems that occur. I will definitely go back!
Good service... And they have nice selection of tree climbing and rigging gear...
Great customer service and always a quick turnaround. The lawnmower we purchased was well priced. Always friendly!
Special Thanks to Kevin, and everyone at Causeway Mowers. I bought my New Bad boy Mower from them Last year and its has been a wonderful experience every since. They are Great people and they will Treat you Right.Thank you guys for everything.. Rick O.
I have always received quick and thoughtful attention with any of my repairs or purchases. The repair work has always been complete and unnecessary repairs were never recommended. My family has come to depend on there service and products.
Do not go to Causeway Mowers. I took my mower in for a tune up and had to bring it back twice before it would work right. The blade is still not balanced but Im not taking it back again. The manager (Cory) and who ever answered the phone the first time both repeatedly asked me if I had unloaded the mower alone. I told both of them that each time Ive brought my mower to CM one of their employees always loaded and unloaded my mower alone. The last time I brought my mower there the tipping of the mower by the One person loading and unloading flooded the motor with oil. CM repeatedly asked me if I was the one who messed up my mower. Dont waste your time or money on Causeway Mowers.
They stock parts for large generators made by Honda
Excellent service and help!!!
Helpful Staff! Carry’s w/e equipment you need and willing to order if not.
Third time in for different repairs; always very responsive and ensure I know what was going on. Big help.
Hel. pful staff, good service & fair prices
Very fast service for repairs. Lots of knowledgeable help. Very friendly. Highly recommend them.
Best mower/outdoor equipment in the state. Fair prices and friendly service. Make sure to ask for Kevin!!
Fast repairs. Good prices vary nice people. Top brands tools
Warning - Be aware that when you take equipment in for repair, and you choose not to go with the estimate, they will return your equipment dissassembled (thats right, in pieces). Imagine my surprise when I went to pick up my edger and was handed a box of parts. The manager explained I should have read the contract for the estimate closer. So after $27.50 for the estimate, Im handed a box of parts. Nice. But not to worry, I was offered a discount on a new edger (not in pieces). Wow.
They have a very extensive parts department and are open with convenient hours.
Ansolute worst customer service! 5 weeks they held my tool and did not diagnose it! but always had an excuse why they have not looked at it! finally i took my tool somewhere else and it was diagnosed the same day! they dont care at causway mowers!
Ive been coming to Causeway Mowers for ~35 years now. Kevin has been very helpful from the sales & parts side to the service side of the business as well. Well continue purchasing our mowers/lawn equipment from Causeway Mowers & highly recommend them to others. Thanks!
Had a bad experience here about a year and a half ago but Kevin went out of his way to regain my trust. This is the only place I will take my mower. Its nice going into a place where the staff go out of their way to take care of the customers. Big thanks to Kev and his team!!!!!!
They take good care to get me mowing again! Also, they are very caring and donate towards benefits ( such as Ride for a Breast ) when asked!
Excellent service! Very knowledgeable and friendly! Highly recommended! I will definitely be back! A+++
3 Visits and $170 later, My 4 cycle grass trimmer had the same problem as it did when I first brought it in for repairs, plastic pieces on the flywheel that engage the starter rope pulley kept breaking, I was told Troy Bilt produced cheap equipment and I now needed to pay more money to replace the flywheel. This would put it above the cost I paid 2 1/2 years ago. I called several times a couple of days latter to request reimbursement of money beyond the estimate charge cost, since the trimmer was in the same condition as when I first brought it in, no one with this authority would come to the phone and talk to me. After hours and days we were finally called and offered a discount on a more expensive trimmer. Instead I ordered a $10 bit starter from Amazon and trimmer works great.
It is nice to work with professional people who are honest and care about their customers! We take great pride in our equipment that we have purchased from Kevin and his staff!
We here at CMS tree services a division of Cornerstone Management Solutions Inc.have been doing business with many small engine and Chainsaw shops in Brevard and find Causeway Mowers staff to helpful and prompt to take steps to satisfy a customer and would recommend them to my business partners and Associates
This place is an absolute joke. I bought a brand new honda mower from them and it shook from the moment I bought it and they wouldnt honor the warranty or return it. I tried to do the right thing and buy from a local place and now Im paying the price. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. Read through the reviews and your will see many many unhappy customers.
I’m happy with their a advices and got good offer.Friendly service from Experts.
Brought my Toro mower in for repairs, as it required a new carburetor because it was sitting for a year. I informed them, I had just replaced the filter and spark plug, cleaned the lines out, but needed a new carburetor. When they called me and explained what they did, they tried charging me for a bunch of addition crap I did not require or requested. They even told me before dropping off the mower, anything over $100 requires my approval... $180 later, I told them to pound sand! I ended up paying $90.Essentially, they are trying to take advantage of people and over charging them. I do not recommend this company.
Best mower shop around, always take care of me and treats me fair.
They have amazing customer service. They are so friendly and professional. I love that store. I would definitely go back.
Started going to Causeway three years ago and they have always done their best to take care of all my lawn service needs. Thanks to the whole crew there for always being knowledgeable and courteous.
This is my wifes email address for the record but my name is Mark Mills and I have had excellent service with Kevin at this mower / power equipment shop ( :P.S. Kevin is very knowledgeable - friendly and fair and thats all I can expect.
Good place for all gardeners lots of machines. & tools GOOD service
Causeway has decent quality new equipment. But their repair and after sale customer service is horrible. They broke three of my devices during repairs for simple gummed carburetors. Each time they said it wasnt their fault. The owner, Kevin, apparently teaches his employees to lie when they break customers equipment.
On 8/11/2018 My husband and I purchased a 48” ride on Bab Boy mower right off the floor. I spent $7,256.94 (technically $10,000 with financing and interest) on this mower. We mentioned we would possibly be back to have another mower get a tune up.On 9/1/18 My husband and I dropped off our 36” SCAG walk behind mower (with our sulky attached). This mower was left with the employees at causeway mowers in WORKING RUNNING OPERABLE CONDITION. (you could cut a lawn with it no problem) The ONLY issue was it needed a tune up and we asked them to look at the pistol grips because we weren’t sure if they needed work or not (they were just really tight). When we were dropping our mower off, we paid (then and there) for a $79 tune up which included all the usual stuff, oil, filters, spark plugs, etc. Then we asked them just to look at the pistol grips and then to call us with what the cost would be IF they even needed any work (they only needed to be adjusted (loosened, I believe, but ill get back to this in a moment). We were EXTREMELY vocal/clear and ADAMANT not to do any work other than the tune up without calling first and having it authorized, (because we know how these things go, we’ve been burned before). Sebastian called me and my husband and left two separate voicemails, The only time I actually spoke to Sebastian was to give him my husbands phone number, he never mentioned anything to me or my husband about anything other than the tune up we had already paid for and just said they we’re taking a look at the grips to see what was wrong. When my husband got home from work he said the same thing but that no one had called to give him an estimate or tell him if anything was wrong with the pistol grips. It was too late to call and check up because by this time they were closed. The next day the sales guy that sold us the Bad Boy (cant remember his name, I want to say it started with a D, but I could be wrong and it doesn’t matter anyway) he called me and said the mower was all done and it was a “brand new mower”, I said “oh great whatever happened with the pistol grips we never heard anything was there anything wrong with them?” to which he responded “uh the mower runs perfectly now, everything is perfect and you can pick her up whenever youre ready”. At first I just kind of took it as, ok it must have been something super easy or nothing was wrong with it. But I had a bad feeling so I started looking through their reviews and wouldn’t you know, there was a similar pattern with all the 1 star reviews. And all the good reviews they get because they offer a discount at the register. But I decided not to jump to conclusions because we had been so adamant about having all work cleared first. When we went to pick up the mower it was close to closing, and they told me I owed over $500!!! The shock was obvious on my face and The sales guy had the most FAKE surprised look on his face when I told him. (just a tip guy, take acting classes if youre going to regularly run a scam!) I said I will absolutely not pay as I did not authorize anything other than the tune up, and that I am not leaving the store without my mower, and if they didn’t give me what I paid for along with my property I was going to call the police. so he tells the guy to put the mower back and calls the owner Kevin who cant be bothered because hes at a volleyball game, nevermind I have a business to run, and he tells his employees to call the police on me, mind you I have my 3 children with me, and I was not loud or rude I was only convicted and standing my ground and letting them know Im well aware of the scam they are trying to run and that I would not be a victim, the only time I had to yell was when their Spanish employee (a woman, like myself) started making nasty comments under her breath at me and then started telling her fellow employees “im holding back” as if she were going to say or do something to me, not sure if that was supposed to intimidate me, but I told her I wish she would give me a reason because I had been nothing but respectful up until that point
Guys are awesome. Expert help. Fair prices. Great inventory.
I had a great experience!!!! I had a chain saw i dropped off at Up and running and they are freaking scam artists. They had my chainsaw for over a week and didnt do a thing to fix it what so ever!!!! They did on the other hand messed with it and sabotage it they took Parts out of it they were rude and just horrible experience. I came to Causeway mowers and Doug and his team took great care of me and fixed my chainsaw for decent price!!! I appreciate you guys and glad i found a place I can go to and no im not going to be scammed!!!
AVOID THIS BUSINESS!!BE ADVISED: This business solicits positive reviews from customers by offering a $10 coupon off a $50 repair. Sign clearly posted on cash register in lobby.Causeway Mowers operates under D & K Enterprises USA, Inc.Highly unprofessional, extremely aggressive, belligerent, condescending, insulting, and generally unfriendly staff. Kevin, the VP of the company is one of the worst small business owners I have ever encountered.I brought my Honda generator for repairs because they are listed as a Honda Premier Service Center but the service I received was anything but premier. First they misdiagnosed the generator and charged me $440.63 to “repair” it. Once they had installed that part, which I did not need, they informed me the real cause of the problem was another part that had failed. Roughly $600 for a new one but they had a used one in stock for $300. I declined repairs and questioned why they hadn’t diagnosed that as the actual problem in the first place. It was then that Kevin began to become highly defensive, rude, and arrogant. He resorted to personal attacks of my character and refused to talk to me about the issue. After some time he did agree to repair to generator by installing the used part, which was $300, for $150 but insisted I must pre-pay for the repair. When I questioned him why Id have to pre-pay for a repair he once again became aggressive and stated that I didn’t have a right to question him and his judgement. He went on to say that this was his business and he can make up the rules as he goes along and the customer must follow those rules. He continued to be very defensive and unpleasant. Finally we had reached an agreement to have the 2nd repair paid for upon completion and it was then that I mentioned the missing screws/bolts that they had lost during the 1st repair. When I asked the generator be returned to me with all the screws/bolts the repair tech Ed became belligerent and began insulting me, insisting that I had no right to ask for the original screws/bolts to be returned. Ultimately they refused to repair the generator, asked me to leave the premises and threatened to call the police on me. Rather than provide good customer service they just lie and scam customers out of money for unnecessary repairs, only partially reassemble your equipment, and then resort to bullying tactics when you ask simple questions. In short, Causeway Mowers (D & K Enterprises USA, Inc.) and their staff are not capable of properly diagnosing equipment, they are incompetent at repairing equipment, they are unable to re-assemble equipment without losing parts/pieces, they have an extreme absence of professionalism, and a total disregard for customer satisfaction.AVOID THIS BUSINESS!!!
In summary, I will never set foot in this place again. I notice most of the good reviews are from men. When I walked in, I asked if they repair mowers. Kevin laughed and said they have a clothing line. I just wanted to clarify, before wasting everyones time. Good start on customer service. I explained that I bought a mower online and it broke the first time I used it (lawnboy, great ratings). He asked if I submitted the registration. I explained, again, that it broke the first time I used it and probably did not think to register it, but I still had all the paperwork. His associate went to the car with me and unloaded the mower from the trunk. Kevin talked to my 16 year old son as though he was the customer and not (female) me. When checking for registration he stated this was what he was “trying” to explain to me earlier, as if I did not understand the first time. He further explained that the registration is how “we mom and pop shops” get paid, as if I would not pay him if it was not under warranty. He clearly has a sore spot with people purchasing from online because he further went on to point out that buying from online sources loses the customer service of explaining why it is important to register your item. I am an adult, I register my products. Again, it broke the first time I used it and I was a little more focused on the refund aspect. I honestly would have left at this point if they had not already taken the mower. Margi took three minutes to register my mower and it was still under warranty (I was able to find the purchase date in 60 seconds BECAUSE I ordered it online and could look at my purchase history). Kevin missed the opportunity that I may have bought it online, but here I was today providing an opportunity for service and income to his mom and pop shop. I gave a $60 deposit, which I was told would be refunded after the warranty was applied. I received a call that it was complete and I sent my 16 year old son over to pick it up. My son called me to tell me there was a balance. I called the store to understand why. After talking to Margi, who tried to help but had difficulty answering my questions, put Kevin on the phone. He was defensive from the start. He explained there were parts missing from the mower which he charged me for because they were not covered under the warranty. I explained I had these parts and a telephone call to ask if ordering these parts and charging me was okay would have resulted in me providing the parts. He laughed and stated it “is not rocket science that if I drop off a mower for service, they need all of the parts.” I told him he was condescending the first time I stepped in his store and he was being condescending again. I explained the parts were in my trunk with my mower and his employee didn’t take them with the mower, I didn’t think they needed the parts if his employee didn’t think they were needed. Again, a simple call to consent to additional charges would have cleared all of this up. He stated I was “questioning his work,” therefore validating his condescension. Never an apology or even an acknowledgement of lack of communication. I explained I was questioning a bill I was being provided without any prior conversation. He stated he called two days prior but I did not have a missed call nor a voicemail message. He ended the call reminding me that they took the time to register my mower, which they are not required to do. I sent my son back to pick it up; I could not step foot in that store. Setting aside the misogyny and condescension, if you take your car in to the shop and they find something else wrong, they call you and get consent on the further work and cost. Communication. I needed a carburetor flush because I left it idle for over a year. Fair. Call me. Talk to me like I am a person, a customer. For someone who is clearly sore about mom and pop shops losing out, better customer service would be recommended. My four page bill encouraged a google review for $10 off, if anyone else wants it, you are welcome to it. I hope this helps in your decision.
Been coming here since I was a kid and my dad has his own business now i have my own.
Kevin, Doug, Evelyn, Keith, and all the staff at Causeway Mowers are always looking and asking who they can help next. Theyre the most well stocked, organized, and informative of all the mower shops in Brevard county. I started my business in late 2012, and by early 2013 purchased my Dixie Chopper after my used toro walk behind belt drive wasnt cutting it anymore. They sold me the Dixie with 0% interest, and sold my Toro on consignment in three days! Ive bought hundreds of products from them, and have had an equal number of questions answered by their very knowledgeable staff. Everyone there is into their job, knowledgeable, and happy! Which says a lot about the management. Happy employees = happy customers, and Ive never been anything but impressed, and happy shopping here! Theyre invaluable to the success Ive had in my lawn care and landscaping business. Going on four years now!!
This is the worse company I have ever dealt with. There service department is Larry, Daryl and his other brother Daryl. THEY ABSOLUTELY DONT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER.. AND WILL TREAT YOU LIKE DIRT..WELL ACTUALLY WORSE..THEY WILL SIMPLY IGNORE YOU IN HOPES YOU WILL GO AWAY.
Awesome customer service and great products.

Owner treats employees and customers like garbage also there only good reviews because owner offers 10percent off his 150 percent mark up to give a good review. Sad but true
I purchased two Toro mowers from this shop a few months back to get me started in the lawn business. I was told by the sales guy I wouldnt have any problems out of them and if I did they would fix them. One mower had pretty low hours and the other had twice the hours. They told me I would have a 30 day warranty on the z-master and the grandstand still had 1 year of the manufacturers warranty. Well it didnt take long before the grandstand started to give me problems with tracking so I took it in for repair. They had it for about a week and I was told they replaced the cables that control movement of the mower and I was not charged because it was covered under warranty. I was pleased that it didnt cost me anything for the repairs and went on with my day. Well comes the very next day I needed that mower it would not start so I took it back and one of the mechanics readjusted the control arm and it started up and back to work I went. This was my first time mowing with it after it had been worked on and it still did not track properly so I made a call and the secretary told me to bring it back when I had the time. This time they kept it for two weeks and after numerous phone calls they finally said I could pick it up only this time I had a bill. The reason I had a bill they say is because a spring popped off and they had to adjust the tracking. I asked them why that was my fault when they are the ones who changed the cables which control the tracking. Their response was they can change the cables without messing with the tracking. This had me puzzled so I called Toro and spoke with them and they confirmed it isnt possible to change those cables without adjusting the tracking. Toro asked me for the serial number of my mower and also told me that the mower hasnt had a warranty for a couple years. So I would have to agree that these people are crooks and advise others to stay away. I was asked to fax my copy of receipt to Toro so that they can investigate this warranty repair.
