I would recommend going elsewhereI have no complaints about purchasing a unit from here. They appear to have same pricing as other competitors. They also price matched when I asked.Do not, however, get your units serviced here.Overpriced labor for how long it takes to accomplish what needs to be done.Im fine with the hourly rate for someone who knows what theyre doing, And can do a oil change in a standard amount of time especially if youre doing it on a daily basis. But apparently that is not the case here.The whole reason for sending my youth ATV off to get serviced is because someone knows how to do it faster than myself.

After working with three other dealerships and trying to sell my bike on Cycle Trader, I submitted a trade evaluation, and Rod got right back to me. I was AMAZED with their offer and accepted it immediately with no need for negotiation. I trailered my trade-in from out of town, and about an hour and change later (and a welcome test ride on a bike I wasnt purchasing) I was off with my new ride! By far the easiest and most satisfying dealership experience ever. NO sales pressure. I highly recommend Rod Star! Everyone else I met was friendly, helpful and conversational. Asked them about an inner helmet sound system that they ordered because they were out of stock. Well order it and can you when it gets in. No call back. Had them order a rear tire for my bike to replace mine. No call back. Called them again a week later, yes we have it here for you. Wasnt actually there. Asked them to call to let me know when they were on the way to pick up my bike. They did not.Their customer service is empty promises but theyre nice and friendly.

I just needed some battery terminal screws and nuts for my marine battery. I was welcomed as soon as I walked in, and helped within a timely manner. Best of all, I asked how much I owed and they said just take them. Will definitely be buying our first motorcycle here when we are ready.

Rob was very low pressure salesman which fits me just fine. Was easy to talk to and knew his stuff. If I did ask something he didn’t know the answer to, he looked it up fir me. I’d say he’s the perfect guy to deal with.Paige took care of the financing and paper work for me. She was very knowledgeable about the options offered and didn’t push anything on me I didn’t want. She made it very easy and actually enjoyable. It was easy to talk with her and she was pleasant the whole time.Now the best part. The Yamaha Star Eluder is an amazing ride. I could ride this thing all day, actually did the first two days. Has plenty of spunk and comfort to make for a great ride. I’d buy it again in a heartbeat.Overall it was well worth the trip to IC. Didn’t go in looking for anything remotely close to this bike, but fell in love at first sight.

I used to buy my BMW bikes from this dealership when it was Ginas, I tried buying a couple since the sale but felt like I was dealing with a used car salesman (they lost 5 sales). The good news is with some staff changes they appear to have righted the ship, Jared in service is the bomb with your BMW, they priced matched a header for my 2020 XR and installation was perfect, Jared also went above and beyond with some tweeks I had him make as well as digging into some recalls. I will probably start buying bikes here again, just need to decide what to get next!

They have many styles of on road and off roadThe store ordered a special part for me that I needed on my old Yamaha, but they were unfortunately out of those at the time. Nice employees working there so I dont mind going back in to pick it up when it arrives.

I have been going here for years and it has always been a great experience. I had Honda Shadow 750cc that I had brought in to have work done on it and the guys in their service department have always taken care of me. They were very professional and informed. The work was always done in a timely manner and I had great communication with the service department. I had bought a Yamaha Zuma 50cc moped here and worked with Rod and the process went amazing! Their sales staff is well informed on the product lines that they carry and are great at answering any questions I had. I love my Zuma moped! It’s a great moped and it runs really well! Along with my purchase of service and of a moped I had times where I have come in and worked with their parts and accessories staff and I have always had great interactions with all of them. I have mostly worked with Curt and he has always helped me out tremendously. I was looking to get a new helmet and Curt had taken me over to their selection and had walked me through the helmets that they had. He checked to make sure that the helmet I had picked out had fit correctly. It turns out that it didn’t fit the way it should, so luckily Curt had made sure the fit was correct to make sure I was a safe as I could be. They had run out of the size I needed so Curt had gotten a helmet ordered for me and it was there by the end of the week.Overall, the staff here is amazing to work with! They are very friendly, professional, and they go the extra mile to make sure you’re taken care of. Thank you guys for the amazing service!

My twenty year old BMW R1100RT’s starter gave out 250 miles from home this past May. Sun and Fun Motorsports treated me like family from the moment I called to the moment I picked up the bike. They took in my bike for repair mere minutes before closing and even gave me a ride to the Greyhound station so I could make it home that night. Their repair work was quick, thorough, and reasonably priced. In addition, they were quite accommodating of me taking a little over a month to return to Iowa City to pick the bike up. I would not hesitate to do business with Sun and Fun again—even under less fraught circumstances.

I called them on March 4th at 9:05 AM to ask some info about the BMW S1000XR 2016 they have for sale before I go there as I live in Chicago. I dont remember the name of the person from sales who answered my call, but I believe it was Rob or Bob?! So this guy wasnt helpful at all. Even though I filled out the finance application through their website. At 12:30 PM when I was at my lunch time I called them again to ask if they get it. One women from the finance told me that she got my APR already but I should wait until another person from the finance gets to the office to let me know more precisely everything related about finance options etc. So at 4:30 PM I called them again and the same women told me they sold the motorcycle! This is totally unethical and disrespectful. I just wasted my time trying to buy a motorcycle from them.

Pretty nice selection of bikes and ATVs. Went there to pick up some light weight riding gloves and found a good pair for a bit more than I wanted to pay. Staff is very busy and almost impossible to get any customer service. All in all I think I will continue to pick up my motorcycle supplies for oil changes there but will probably shop online for better selection and prices.

I have been going to this store for over 9 years for parts, some service and sales. Under both Iowa City Motorsports ownership and Sun and Fun Motorsports I have always been treated fairly, professionally and received what I have asked for at a reasonable price. I normally do most of my own service work, maintenance and repairs and Kurt takes great care of me. Even when I have had to ask for some service/repair advice, they have been willing to help me out. Rod has treated me fairly on sales, and always has a wave and a hello when Im there. Bottom line for me is, I do business where Im treated with respect and as a valued customer, and for me its Sun and Fun Motorsports.

If youre looking for motorcycles or atvs it might not be that bad, but between the lack of products that had been advertised on their site, and the overall sketchy nature of one of the salesmen, it wasnt worth the drive.

After adding BMW, they are too busy to cate about the individual client. I took my bike in for service, and after 2 days I had to call them to find out what was going on. At that time they told me that it would cost me $1600 to take care of items that were never mentioned. The service representative argued about the work, indicating that they had already done the work without permission. Three days in and they still have not contacted me regarding my oil change and plug replacement. This company has lost my trust completely.

I will never have service work done there again. At first they told me it was a bad injector by the time we were done they put a new motor in and it still doesn’t run right. Plus it took 2 months to get it done. I still need to take it to get it running right.

Great crew with Bennie and Gerard. They were fast, efficient and helped me out a great deal while traveling thru Iowa. However I was shocked and disappointed in the cost of having a small weld done. It was not critical and had I know the cost up front I would have waited until I got home.

Before they became Sun and Fun Motorsports, it was Iowa City Motorsports, and I felt a better connection when I went in there before. We bought 1 moped, and 2 motorcycles from them. I walked in a couple months ago to get a small part for my Ninja, and while it took awhile to get one of the guys to wait on me, once he did, they apparently had spare parts and he gave me the bolt I needed for the battery for free. Its a 90 minute drive, but we were in town anyway. Now I need a new nut for one of the battery grounds, I hope they have that part. They do have a great inventory of bikes and parts.

I have been there 6 times for parts and its always as if Im bothering them on their lunch break... the same guy is unfriendly as hell, and in the end they never have the parts. I wont ever be back...

Staff was helpful and courteous. Inquired about motorcycle tire mounting. 50 bucks for a carry in rim and an extra 25 if you have your own tire. Thats almost as much as the new tire. Think ill deal with the hassle and change it myself.

My advice is to stay away from them for bike service unless you have a lot of money in your wallet. I wanted to have new tires put on my bike and it was going to cost me $145! That includes $95/hour shop rate plus an extra $25/tire because I didnt buy my tires there. Ill be looking for someone else to do my servicing. But I might be back if Im in the market for another motorcycle. They have a great inventory.

Terrible service! I went there trying to test ride a bike. Told them I have a license and told them to check my credit and was left in the showroom for 45 mins with no one telling me what was going on bike never moved credit never run. Ill take my business elsewhere

We had a flat tire on our was home from Colorado and searched for the nearest Honda dealership. We found Sun and Fun Motorsports and sent them an email on Sunday letting them know we would be there in the morning. We arrived and they were ready for us and we were back on the road an hour later. The guys there were great to work with and they were a real lifesaver for us in a moment of need. The dealership itself was fun to browse while we waited.

Nice facility and a lot of great bikes but they never returned my emails and even after I dropped in twicethey wont call or email. The bike I test rode haff a burned up clutch sho only made it 20 yards before turning around. Feels like they dont want to sell or maybe someone is doing something shady there. Maybe they sold the bike but someone could at least respond to an email.

Dont bother going. We drove over an hour to shop here. Was prepared to drive a bike home. The place was so crowded, could barely look around. Had to flag someone down and ask for help. They waved us over to the back corner. Couldnt answer one single question about the bike.

Went to get some gloves, barely any choices and all ridiculously expensive. So crowded i had to literally climb over fourwheelers just to get around. All utility quads and side by sides, nothing sporty. I thought Iowa City would have something better than this.

Do NOT go here for service!!! Repair estimate included lots of unneeded work. My husbands bike was not ridden last year and would not start. We took it in and asked for an estimate of the least amount of work that could be done to get it running as we were planning to sell the bike. They charged us $86.66 for the estimate and quoted us $1175.80 to get it running, including a new battery, carb repair kit, carb insulator, etc. No way were we putting that much money into a bike we were planning on selling. Picked it up and found someone who worked on bikes independently. He drained the carburetor and ran fresh gas thru it x3, charged the battery, and it runs great now. Did they even check the battery to see if it needed replacing??? It held a charge and started fine for the 10 days after we got it running before we sold it. Did not need all the parts or major work that Sun and Fun wanted to charge us for. Extremely disappointed, will take my business elsewhere to someplace that does not add unnecessary repairs to the bill.

On August 7, 2013 I was returning from Sturgis SD and stayed overnight in Iowa City. On arriving at the motel that night, I discovered my right saddlebag lock was jammed. As I needed some meds that were in that bag and had no tools to work on the problem, I Googled Yamaha dealers and headed straight for Iowa City Motorsports the next morning. Helpful tech Oliver dropped whatever chores he had lined up for a Thursday morning and got straight to work on the bag for about an hour, got access to its contents and re-secured the hinge. No charge! You guys are champions to this Canadian rider! Many thanks.

Never again.The service department charged full book rates (manufacturer time estimates * $109/hr) for over a dozen repairs - double-dipping on shop time for things like removing/replacing the fuel tank, fairing, plastics, etc…, telling me that if they didn’t use that time for the repair, they’d be using it for diagnosis. Adding insult to injury, after waiting 2 weeks for the repairs and then paying the > $2,500 bill, the bike wouldn’t start. As if that weren’t enough, my cramp-buster is missing, along with the contents of one of my fairing pockets (including my registration, proof of insurance and a pair clear Oakley’s for night riding).I’ve owned my Triumph for almost 2 decades and it’s been in a shop for > 1 week only twice – both times w/Sun&Fun, and I’ve been shocked by a repair bill only twice – both times w/Sun&Fun. After the first bad experience, the owner encouraged us to give them another try because they’d changed location and staff, but I was fooled twice (shame on me).Sun&Fun’s service department just used my bike to take me for a ride (and I don’t like to be taken), so there’s no doubt that it’s worth the drive to Des Moines or Dubuque for better and faster service at a fraction of the price.

Do not ignore the negative reviews! I gave these guys benefit of the doubt, big mistake! Never again, at least for their service dept.The sales staff is friendly but they are trying to push a sale after all.

AVOID SHOP AT ALL COSTS!!!! I helped my brother in law take his bike here to get looked at. We had actually already replaced the clutch and were having a difficult time getting the clutch cover back on. Once they called us about what was wrong, (which took a couple weeks), they told us the transmission was shot and it would cost over $4,000 to fix. After that piece of news they then proceeded to tell us that we could give them the bike and they would call it square. We went to pick up the bike as soon as we could. When we showed up to get the bike we were told that they would need to get the fork lift to get the bike down from the second floor (pretty shady as the service center is on the ground floor). After getting it home and the bIke back together we found that they cut coolant lines and switched the rear tire out. From now on we will drive to Des Moines were you can actually trust the mechanics.

Went to this shop With an appointment had a oil leak had been going there for like 5 years but when sun and fun took over the service sucked cause they told me the oil leak couldnt be fixxed and they kept my bike longer the young guy in the service dept rather talk to his girl freind and one of the parts guys is really rude to avoid cause they told me it could be fixxed and i took to another place they fixxed it and it took them a hour to do very unhappy id give them a Negative 5 if they had that on their deal What a joke

I come here all the time to buy parts for my moped. i drive an aprillia and they are the only place in iowa that works on them. They have gotten so expensive that ive taken to buying parts online and watching youtube to do my own moped work.

Was told pick up was free and was then charged when going to the shop to pay for the repair, also careless in their work and did not properly reattach a battery cover which fell off dring a drive. This part is not produced now and is not possible to replace. DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE

Went for an event and my fiancé rode his bike. His battery died while he was there and they helped him jump start it and were very kind!

They can fix it. Rebuild my CT70 engine and trans before it was stolen..
