Great friendly caring staff. I was shocked they gave warranty on a used appliance. The prices were really reasonable and affordable. I just wish they were open on sundays 😪. I love my refrigerator pretty cheap for the quality.

Ill be fair the refrigerators are okay. If were talking long term like more than a year I suggest buying a brand new refrigerator. Customer service is unprofessional and trashy.I would buy in the future if I get desperate. Look at the sarcastic employee who responded. Folks work hard for there money ! I got a used refrigerator from here a few weeks ago and it stop working and all my food went bad. The warranty says 60 days but the owner jerry is refusing to send another. To make it any worst the business phone is now disconnected and he keep trying to send service guys to fix it. I’m tired of wasting money on take out. So please find another place to buy from.

Staff was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Was given a time quote of 2pm for fridge delivery, did not recieve fridge until well after 6pm. Was continuously lied to about arrival time when I called, and was spoken to very rudely when confirming delivery.Will never do business with this place again. Even in a emergency, as this was. Lesson learned. Stay away!

THIS PLACE IS FULL OF INCONSISTENT UNPROFESSIONAL PEOPLE I WISH I COULD GIVE THEM 0 STARS💯 I got a fridge from them for my first apartment and it was great at first and less than a month it started acting up. I called once and walked into the store another day to get it fixed and both times they made a date to come and they NEVER came and didn’t even call to let me know that they weren’t coming. And on top of that, when you call them, they slur on the phone to where you could barely understand them and they give out wrong numbers. I had to throw everything in my fridge and freezer away not even a week after i got it. The fridge is now sitting in my kitchen unplugged and has been for a week and a half because of this terrible customer service! I had a two month warranty and now that I’m calling to ask for my money back they can’t give it to me and now they want to come and check our fridge after we’ve practically been hunting them down to come! It’s just very aggravating because I have been nothing but respectful and patient and it’s like a slap in the face. It sucks but life goes on i just want to save the next person from making a mistake.

I recently brought a refrigerator from this business last week Monday. I went food shopping Wednesday and filled my fridge up with groceries. The food and refrigerator were both fine as far as i noticed. I had a busy week and was not home until friday evening, early saturday morning. Saturday i went out again and got more groceries. When i returned homed to put the groceries away i noticed the ice pops and ice cream i brought earlier in the week were all melted. At that point i checked the knobs to see what setting the refrigerator and freezer were on. They both were already set to the coldest temperatures. Sunday as a holiday for me due to my religion being muslim. This day marked the ending of a 30 day fast. I awoke his morning to a horrible smell coming from my food spoiling. I proceeded to call the store and spoke with the receptionist who transferred me to the business owner. The owner was not only rude and disrespectful but he also proceeded to lie and give me a brush off type of demeanor. A service technician was sent out to look at and service my refrigerator about an hour later and he had to replace/ repair 3 things. He stated to me that he could have done so before my appliance left the store. I could tell he felt bad as he serviced my appliance and apologized for the inconvenience. About 45 after he arrived i could feel the difference inside of the fridge as he packed up to leave.He told me things should begin to freeze after 5-6 hours. It was around 3 pm. I proceeded to call the business back. The receptionist answered again and said the owner was out making deliveries and i could call back at 5 pm. We shared our views on the situation and she agreed that with the pandemic going on, he should accomodate me somewhat for my food. It is especially hard right now and also i am a single mother of a 7 year old who is out of school. I told her i would call back at 5 and thanked her for her concern and politeness. I patiently waited to call back at 5. When i did the same familiar voice picked up and asked me to hold after we exchanged hellos and re introductions. I could hear the owner in the background yelling rudely at the workers. He picked up the phone continuing to yell for a bit then said hello. i greeted him back with a warm hello and told him who i was and where i lived. he said hello and asked what he could do for me. i began to tell him i called earlier about the service call for my fridge and he cut me off saying hold on. i paused my conversation and he passed the phone to the service technician that had already attended to me. once i recognized his voice i politely told him he had already serviced my fridge and i never asked to speak to him. he gave the phone back to the owner letting him know that the issue needed to be addressed by him. The owner came to the phone again yelling rudely to the workers. After he finished he began telling me to hurry and tell him what my problem was because he had to go. Again he was disrespectful and even told me he didnt care that i would be taking my time to write him this horrible review and or call the mayors office, and that he was going to hang up on me if i didnt soon because again he wasnt replacing my food or anything. He stated that he hadnt replaced anyones food ever in 30 years of work. I paid a lot of money for that refrigerator and all the groceries to restock it after my old one went out and everything inside spoiled. I am truly heartbroken right now and in distress. I am not racist and i believe all lives matter. to see someone of your own race do things like this to their own kind and really not care is sickening.

Got a stove from them 3 years ago and its still works well. Great customer service. Delivered the stove in a timely manner. Did not have a problem.

The appliance I bought stopped working in one month, it took two weeks for the repair man to come and fix it. After fixing it, it lasted only two weeks then it stopped working again, after repeatedly calling and showing up to the business to get it fixed I finally gave up. Neither the owner or the repair man helped. I definitely will NEVER recommend J&L to anyone .

If I was able to give a rating of negative zero I would!!! This place is the absolute bottom of the barrel!!! My daughter purchased a used fridge from them, when it was delivered the delivery people asked for a tip before bringtthe refrigerator to her apartment. It was INFESTED with roaches, beyond disgusting!!!!!! We had to call them five time in two days to come and get it. They gave us a problem saying no refunds, just replacement. My daughter told them she all she wanted was for them to get that infestation roach coach out of her house!!! And the unprofessional people had the gall to ask for another tip, I WENT OFF!!!!!

This is the worst place to deal with. I have never dealt with such an unprofessional establishment in my life. If they come out to work on your appliance, they offer you a warranty but if something happens during that time, they will ignore your calls because they don’t want to honor the warranty. I even spoke to Red and I asked for a manager and I wasn’t granted to speak with one. She said Jerome is one of the managers. If this is so, this place needs to be put out of business. Jerome is the one who did the work originally and once he found out that it was under warranty, he ignored my calls, text messages, etc etc. He never showed up for our appointments scheduled. I hate to say this but stay out of that neighborhood and have a refrigeration place in areas such as south orange, etc. I only used them because of a referral and I will not be referring them to my many friends and family who are home owners. Save your money and time and please don’t ever buy anything from them nor get anything fixed from them because it’s a ghetto establishment with the worst customer service available. I hate that I had to even give one star because they deserve no stars. I’m a homeowner with several properties so I’m used to dealing with professional people so this is an utter shock but I will tell you I’m not surprised for reasons better left unsaid. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE. THESE ARE UNPROFESSIONAL PEOPLE AT THIS PLACE AND YOU WILL GET BELOW PAR SERVICE AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. STAY AWAY. THE WORST PLACE EVER!!!!

My Landlord bought a stove from these people and a couple of months later the oven just wouldnt work. I called the store about it and they charged me $80.00 to come and fix it, then the guy had the nerve to ask me do I use the oven a lot and Im like yeah to cook its a oven, Duh!.Now here I am again and the oven doesnt work again and so I had to call these people and the lady who answered the phone sounded drunk and then she said $80.00, which I already knew that its the fact that she asked me did I drive because the guy who fixes the stoves dont have a car and I would have to pick him up, i was like thats not my problem.DONT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE, IT SHOULD BE CONDEMNED. JUST BECAUSE THEY CLEAN A STOVE UP NICE DOESNT MEAN THAT IT WILL WORK.

Worst experience I ever had, at first I wanted to support a black owned business. Support a business with in the community. customer service is really bad and they did a no call no show. When they finally delivered the refrigerator, the workers was crackheads off the street. Damage my living room door, instead of removing it to bring the refrigerator in. The refrigerator stopped working within a week, someone came out three times, work for one week then broke down. Then replace it with another refrigerator that broke down a week later. And did another no call no show for repairing. Its hard to understand how someone stay in business that long with that type of work ethic. Its a shame I wish I could give a -5 star

I recieved my fridge in a timely manor but within 2 days of buying it I noticed the freezer did not work good i called right away and it has been 3 months and still they uave not come to service my fridge now the whole fridge is hot and all my good is bad i DO NO RECOMMEND this company

If google allowed me to give a ZERO STARS RATING i would. Trust me, DO NOT let them service you. I called for a stove repair, first time the didnt show up until 6 hour after the alloted time. I didnt learn my lesson. The 2nd time, I gave the benefit of the doubt. I spoke to Jerome who basically runs the place. He didnt show up for days!! My tenant never got her stove fixed. I WILL NEVER CALL HERE AGAIN!!! I hope no one has to go to this place. Very Very unprofessional!! Please I urge you. DO NOT GO HERE. Only thing worst than not having someone who knows how to do a job, is a company that wont even show.

This place is very unprofessional and likes to give you the run around...I paid for my fridge Sept 1st it was delivered on Wednesday, had to call them Thursday to get it replaced because the fridge has a roach infestation...it’s now Wednesday and they still haven’t given me my replacement...Lesson Well learned...poorly ran black business...would not recommend to anyone
