Would get 5 star if they accepted card payments, but it is cash only.The food is great and plenty of it (especially the breakfast) lots of seating and plenty of parking.Staff very friendly and service is nice and quick.They have a good menu with lots of choices, but we always stick with the breakfast
First time visiting, always heard great things about the lighthouse.Lots of choices on the menu, went for the Mega breakfast, which is as you can imagine big! Very reasonable price at £9.60 (22.10.2021).Order food and drinks at counter with a table number, then sit and wait. It was busy so had a little wait. Tables are a little cramped and we were unfortunately sat near the door which was often open and as its now getting cooler we were getting cold.Food was good, large portions, nice thick cut bread, local butcher sausages.Coffee is from a automatic machine unfortunately.Overall, nice breakfast, ok coffee, a little cramped but would go again.
The food here is and has always been delicious! If you want a really good breakfast...look no further!The reason for the low score is the fact thats its still cash only??? Burger vans have card machines, market stalls have card machines, taxis have card machines! What is going on?

This place gets busy but i only think its avg to be honest. When you have a bacon roll u get a long roll with 2 pieces of bacon inside so i always have to ask for 2 pieces extra because if not it just tastes of roll! Ill be finding some other places to try
Ive been twice not good. Sausages deep fried and very pink in the middle! Coffee tasteless. Mushrooms served whole and not fried fully and old looking.Its a lovely location but they need to get a chef not hire school kids.
The food is always top notch, never been anything shy of perfect. The service is somewhat less pleasant at times depending on which staff are working.

Awful experience rude kitchen staff and I ordered a large bacon and egg baguette come with 2 bits of bacon and 1 egg literally did not even half fill it then they charge 80p per bit of bacon if you want more absolute joke will not go back.
Havent been for a while but really enjoyed full breakfast will be going back again

Sat outside in the sunshine in the garden, had scrambled egg on 2 pieces of gorgeous doorstep toast soaked in melted butter - delicious. Tea, coffee with it. Excellent prices, friendly service. One-way system in force for Covid. Love this place.

A lovely cafe with quick service. Open till 2pm.Food was filling (even made a sandwich out of our leftovers for lunch!)Helpful and friendly staff. Its a hidden gem.And the tables were spaced nicely as well.
There was so many options to pick, all different sizes of brunch! One of us got the 3rd biggest brunch and it was massive! So much food and great value for money! Sausages were local and tasted delicious! Highly recommend!

This cafe has definitely got COVID protection, it was clean and shields up indoors, and trays attached to the tables outside, the staff were very nice and helpful, the food was excellent quality, and well cooked, black puddings were very good!

Not a bad breakfast, but you will receive almost as much food with the small breakfast, as you will for the large. Currently they only take cash, which I find a little annoying, given the pandemic. It doesnt take much to get a card reader. The average person can purchase one of these for under £20, so it seems a little stingy...

Always a fantastic breakfast, cant fault it.
Just about perfect, have been coming here for breakfast for years! It has become increasingly rare (especially in Norfolk and Suffolk) that you find a eatery who actually seems to take pride in their product, but the Lighthouse is definitely One! Not just your standard café pumping out the same old catering supplies rubbish the Lighthouse does it right. For Breakfast Inch thick bloomer bread for the Toast, decent Local Sausages & Bacon and hash browns which arent the standard supermarket type etc etc etc. Decent sized portions and not too expensive. We once tallied up that it was cheaper for example to eat here than at McDonalds, so we do, every week! I always give a balanced review and so bad points, not many, the Coffees ok, not awesome but is a decent cup (the Tea is good though). The Sausages can be a little peppery on a rare occasion (but they are from a local butcher) but these are very minor points. They have the COVID arrangements sorted at the moment (another rarity!). I would (and do) recommend to all looking for a decent breakfast! Of course its just occurred to me that they are open all day and not just for breakfast, their food for the rest of the day maybe complete pigswill for all I know but Im guessing with confidence that if they put as much attention into the rest of their menu as they do their breakfast menu then you will equally not be disappointed! 5 Stars! *****

Love it here. The toast makes it a unique place to have your breakfast and wins over all local restaurants serving a full English. However one quibble the staff were doing an extensive clean whilst we were eating on a Saturday morning which was a bit off putting and should have been done when store was closed.

There is nowhere I could see that says No dogs so I went in and stood waiting to order, happy to order, then eat outside. Indeed, there is a sign saying that dogs should be kept on a lead. Youll have to leave your dog outside Im told. How is a person on their own supposed to order from outside?Anyhow, theyve lost my custom. I went to Martello s instead. Better food and friendly staff.And they wonder why Lowestoft doesnt attract tourists any more.

This is my favorite spot in Lowestoft for breakfast. Always good food and a lot of it for a decent price. Can be a little slow but it’s always busy so you must have some patience if you don’t like waiting.

We had another lovely breakfast today at the Lighthouse Diner. I needed to make some changes to the standard midi and between the lovely lady behind the counter and myself we eventually came to an agreement as to what I wanted it was not easy but the whole thing was handled with patience and a smile so thankyou
Great breakfast options, and very popular with locals so often packed! Veggie and kids meals available, specials board always offers plenty of choices. Mega breakfast is HUGE 😋 and most options have toast or bread & butter accompanying them. Plenty of choices, a great little cafe with great food.
