Very friendly, honest and doesnt sell you on work not really needing to be done

I have mixed feelings. My mower came back very clean and is running and cutting well. The self-propel handle is much much stiffer and I have to really wrench it to get it to activate.I decided to get my mower repaired because it stopped running out of nowhere and I figured it would be cheaper than buying a new one. I ended playing about 1.5 times as much as I spent on the mower! Granted it was used, but by no means a piece of junk. Even some of the lower-end brand-new mowers dont cost this much...When looking at the bill and based on what was briefly explained to me, they replaced a belt that had broken (the reason it stopped working) and they ran the typical tune up that is recommended to get once a year.The labor and belt price were in the price range I was expecting, but the labor and parts for the tune up quadrupled the price.If they had called me with an estimate, I would have just junked the thing and bought a new one.But for what its worth it seems to be running very well - self propulsion unbearable stiffness aside. And the people I spoke to seemed friendly and eager to help.

In my opinion maybe they were super busy, maybe this type of saw isnt worth fixing (Husqvarna), maybe I had unrealistic expectations who knows, but when your told that now it will run like new and it didnt even last more than 5 minutes after being fixed twice is very disappointing. I want to support local but situations like this make it tough to do especially when servicing the customers does not seem priority. But in the end your probably better off learning to fix it yourself, in my case this company was zero help and my wallet is lighter.

After being told by another local small engine repair shop that I would need to wait almost 30 days to get my lawnmower back I found B.C. The other shop also quoted me a quite higher price for the work than B.C. did. Initially I was told that the work I was having done would take 4 to 6 days which I was happy with after being told 30 days by the other shop. 2 days later they called and said they were done. I went to pick up my mower and almost didnt recognize it, it looked brand new. Not only did B.C. fix my lawnmower in half the time they said they would, they also tuned it up and pressure washed it for me. They also came in at a much lower price for the work than the other shop had quoted. Its a little farther to travel to get to B.C. for me but from now on Ill happily make the drive. I cant recommend them enough for any small engine repair and maintenance work.

Just moved to the area and was very happy to find a friendly and helpful shop close by. I have now been in a couple times and my blower they just serviced was done timely and running better than I can ever remember. This will definitely be my go to place when needing to service my engines.

Ive been in a couple times and will continue to go back every time I need some help. I had previously used a different service and they were so slow to get my machine back to me. Its obvious that BC Small Engine Repair does not lack business- they are quite busy- but they are able to do my repairs in a timely manner and help me with small things on the spot. They dont make me feel stupid because I dont know what Im doing or talking about and they are kind and considerate. I really appreciate them.

Everyone at BC Small Engine is so experienced & knowledgeable that you wont worry about the answer youre given for any question, or the service youre given either. They do quality work, and they know what they are doing. You should know that any question or repair brought here will be addressed appropriately and correctly. They dont do half-way work. Im glad I have stuck with them for the last many years.

The team at BC Small Engine Repair has always done a great job tuning my mower up and getting it running. It starts on the first pull every time. This year, I took my mower home after a tune-up and it ran great for a week. The second time I used it, the mower was dying after five seconds. I called BC and they had me bring the mower in again. They fixed the issue within 18 hours and didnt charge me anything. I take my equipment to them for maintenance and repair, and thats what they deliver. And they do it for a fair price. Id recommend them to anyone.

These guys are awesome. They are friendly, professional, and skilled. They completed the work quickly and for a fair price.My only criticism as others have mentioned, is that its very difficult to find. At first I thought Google Maps had sent me to the wrong address. (This business is operated out of a large separate garage, back behind a house.) As a first time customer, I was about to give up and head somewhere else when I finally noticed the small B C sign out front. I then realized that you have to use the main driveway to drive behind the house to the garage.My only suggestion would be investing in a larger sign that mentions pulling around the back of the house. Now that I know where to go though, I will be coming here every time.

Great place with great service. Took care of our in the amount of time they said they would. We didnt know what the problem was and they diagnosed it and fixed it for a very fair price. The young man who we spoke to when we dropped it off and picked it up was courteous and helpful. I am very happy with them and will be using them again for all my small engine needs. I will also be recommending them to anyone who needs small engine work.

Excellent everything!They are a little hard to find, but worth the search!I dropped my snow blower off on a Saturday, right at closing. They were slammed, but got me checked in and out of the in about 10 minutes. I have not been able to start my blower in over 3 years, and I havent been to kind to it either. 😯They stated to me that they would have it running like new when it was done in 6 to 9 days.6 days later they called, said it was done (I rusted out the carburetor, fuel lines were gummed up, skid plates gone, and needed new fluids and a tune up) and I could come pick it up.Ive never seen this machine start as well as it does now! They have this bad boy tuned in so perfect that I dont need the electric start! First pull, every time!Thanks for the excellent, professional service!

On 06/02/2018 I ran into a problem with my lawn mower. It started smoking and I immediately shut it down. Much to my amazement it started leaking oil. I called up B C Small Engine Repair because they have serviced my snow blower and weed eater in the past They always do excellent work. Very pleased with the service.I spoke to Brian on the phone and explained exactly what I did with the lawn mower prior to it smoking. He was able to diagnose the problem over the phone and told me what I needed to do. Once I fixed the problem I was on my way again to finish mowing the lawn. I was so excited the mower was working again. So I called up Brian again to thank him to tell him the advice worked and very much appreciated the time and advice.Ill refer these guys any time!

Took my snow blower into have some work done on it. I was immediately impressed by the personalized and attentive service that I received when I arrived. I expected to wait at least a week to have it back but Brian had it up and running within a day. The price was half of what I was quoted at another repair shop and the turn around time was unbelievable. The blower runs better than it ever has. I will definitely take all of my future small engine business to BC Small Engine Repair.

Great and honest service

The owner here was great. I took in my riding mower today and he realized what was wrong before it was even off the truck! He fixed it quickly and easily and didnt charge me anything. I for sure will be using him in the future! Definitely recommend.

Emailed BC Smaller Engine Repair after they were closed and received a response within a half hour. I was able to stop by the next day and get the parts that I needed. He remembered what I needed and I was out the door in 7 minutes. Super nice and knowledgeable guy when it comes to snowblowers. I wish I would have found out about him years ago.

Awesome work on our mower !! We had an older mower we thought we were going to have to retire, infact, we have had a landscaper for the last two years because our mower was in such bad shape. Saw B C Small Engine Repair ad and decided to give them a call, glad I did...our mower is like brand new. We recd compliments from our neighbors on how good our lawn looks, we never got compliments with the landscaper. I called in on the phone to ask a question about an edger I had that needed work. I decided not to take it in because Brian acted unprofessional, treated me like I didnt know anything, and generally had a rude attitude.

We brought a lawn mower over for a tune up and parts replacement. After the service was complete we brought the lawn mower home and it died within minutes. Very frustrated I called up B C Small Engine Repair and expressed my annoyance with their suggestion to get the lawn mower fixed. They were confident that it was a quality lawn mower and paying to get it fixed was completely worth it. Well they asked me to bring the mower back in. After taking a look there was some serious problems with the mower; however, they offered to give me a totally separate used mower in exchange. They did not charge me any extra! The mower they gave us is used but it works great. It was so refreshing to have a company not shirk their responsibility in taking ownership of their bad suggestion. We highly recommend them.

I have been going to BC Engine for years. They have always gone above and beyond normal service. He even meet me after hours so i could pick up late once, when I was on a crazy work schedule.I love how they are honest with me and he tells it like it is. They have helped me with my old machines.

Location is behind a residential home, which threw us off a little bit. However, they did a great job on our mower and had it returned back to us quickly. Cost was reasonable for the repairs.

Ive been going to BC Small Engine for 8+ years. Every power tool that I own (mowers, snow and air blowers, tillers, edger, trimmer, hedger, chain saw, etc.) has been serviced by BC Small Engine at least once. Today when I picked up my edger, I noticed a neon sign as I was leaving asking patrons to review BC on Google. So I decided to go home and add my review to Google for BC.Before leaving my review, I wanted to know what others thought of BC, so I read all 12 Google reviews. No big surprises, 11 of the 12 reviews gave BC 5 star reviews. I always find it odd when everybody but one has a 5-star experience. Im suspicious of the one.That said, the only experience(s) that matter to me are mine. Ive found Brian and his team to be exceptionally accommodating over the years. Ive thrown just about everything you can imagine at Brian - Im not the most brilliant power tool user :( Without exception, BC has satisfactorily repaired my equipment. On the rare occasion a problem (usually unrelated to the original problem) persisted, Brian has always made it right. Brian is brilliant and blunt when it comes to his business of small engines. I appreciate his frank coaching and instruction to help me avoid my brainless blunders in the future.I could write pages about my positive experiences at BC, but one example will suffice. I use an old lawn mower with a snow blade to clear my driveway and walks and those of many neighbors (I love pushing snow). The first time the old mower broke down, Brian charged me only the amount of the parts to repair it and said “I’m throwing in my labor as my contribution to your neighborhood service.” That is who Brian and BC Small Engine are. 5 STARS!

I had an issue with an old, 1970s, John Deere, snowblower and needed a spring that was no longer produced. I struggled with finding the spring and struggled with where it connected. I took it here and the owner had the spring and even took the time to help me install it. I was charged for the spring only. A great company, fair price, and great customer service. I have found a place Ill be back to many times in the future. Thank you!

The owner is the kindest person. He noticed I was exasperated trying to get everything to start - lawnmower, blower, edger, weed wacker. They were all having little issues constantly and it seemed I couldnt get anything done. He insisted on coming to my house to look at them so I didnt have to load them up once again. He taught me which gas will cause starting problems, which oil will cause starting problems, how to start each machine easily (a little different from instructions) (yes I took notes), then watched as I successfully got each one to start cold, then hot. He did this at no charge. I AM SO HAPPY to have them close by and so helpful. He saved me from having to buy a new lawnmower. My 15-year old lawnmower is now starting on the first pull cold AND hot, now that I am using the right gas and starting method (and since he cleaned the fuel line / lubed the engine). Its like having a dad close by.

Very good company. I’ve been there three times now and they always have what I need, and get my Lawnmower up and running again.

I took my chainsaw into BC and they lied and took my money. They charged me 90.00 an hour to misdiagnose what was wrong with my chainsaw. They did not tell me there would be a diagnostic charge. I also took it to another place and they told me that it was a bad bar break which is an easy fix. BC told me it was a bad exhaust pipe and they said the clutch was burnt up which was not even close to correct. I would not take anything there ever again. They also said they are a certified steel dealer and they are not.

Great place to get parts for virtually any small engine or outdoor power tool. Ive never had anything repaired by them, but Im sure theyd do a great job

Great service. They sharpen my mower blades every year, and helped me understand what was broken in my edger, and the best way to replace it.

I brought my weed whacker in and w/in minutes and he had it fixed, replaced the line and handed it back to me with no charge. Ill come here with all of my future needs.July 2013 excellent work on my lawn mower, trimmer and snowblower. Friendly employees.

I dont know how this company has any good reviews. Both times I was in to talk about my chainsaw I was treated like somebody that didnt know anything. Brian was pretty condescending and didnt listen to anything I had to say about what was going on with the machine. When ever I tried to talk he was quick to talk over me. I picked up the chainsaw to find one of the same issue as when I dropped it off (carrying case full of oil, not just a few drops coming off the chain but at least 1/2 a cup of oil). I asked Brian about the carrying case full of oil and he said that it must have been that way when I dropped it off. Ya, because I put a chainsaw case in my car that is full of lose oil so that it can get all over my car. Anyways I paid $38ish for me to bring a chainsaw home that still continues to leak all of the oil out of the chain bar oil tank.

Not a good experience so far. I took the mower in as it wasnt starting and for a tune up. 2 weeks later, they called stating it was done. I used it the next day and put it in the shed. Next time, I tried to use it, the same issue as original. Well see what happens after I take it back in. Hopefully they dont need it for another 2 weeks.

I cannot say enough good things about BC Small Engine repair. I had taken my snowblower to a different small engine company and they told me that the carburetor needed to be replaced. I was suspicious of their diagnosis (and their price!) as the snowblower was only a couple of years old. I took the snowblower to BC and they cleaned the carburetor for a very fair price and had it running like new. Their customer service was amazing and I felt like they were very open and honest.

Came in substantially lower than they bid me and what I had agreed to pay. I appreciate their integrity and will continue to use them for all my small engine repairs.

Do not use this companys services under any circumstances. I took my lawn mower and string trimmer for an annual tune-up this year. To start with they did a complete rebuild on my trimmer without discussing it with me prior to. For what they charged me for services i didnt request i couldve just purchased a new trimmer. I certainly wish i had because even after taking it back to them 3 times now my trimmer still wont work for more than 5 feet at a time without making me spend another 5 minutes trying to get it going again.His only response seems to be it must be the gas, but its the gas he put in there. At this point Im done trying to get the thing going, and Im done with BC Small Engine. They clearly dont have the knowledge to fix their own mistakes.

I am in the process of rebuilding my snow blower and needed some parts. Many of business wanted to service the equipment but would not sell me parts because they did not have many parts on hand. The question that kept coming to mind was why is this a part store if they will not sell me parts but will service my equipment.I turned to the internet to find the parts I found BC Small Engine Repair. Super friendly and helpful people.

I was rebuilding the carburetor on my motor and was unable to get it running. I took it to them and it took about 5 minutes for them to get it started and running perfect.

When you say you have a part, make sure you have the part before a possible customer drives 20 minutes to get it. Its super annoying when someone doesnt have a part youre told you did.

Ive been going to him for about 3 years and it seems like he started overcharging me a little at a time and then I started looking at the product online that I was purchasing from him and he was charging me double sometimes triple four tires for my lawn mower so I decided Id just better move on with my service somewhere else its not fair to anyone Im a small business owner as well thank you no hard feelings just the truth facts
