This review is based on the video game aspect of the store, not the board game or comic portion.I have been to a lot of retro and regular video game stores, and this stores prices are, comparatively, very high (in my opinion, so much so that it is not worth a stop). I hate recommending shopping online vs. local, but if it is between this store or shopping online, it is just not economically realistic to spend 2 or 3 times more here than you could easily find on eBay or at another store.

Large variety of comics, board games, trading cards, and video games. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended.

Not impressed with trade in offer. I understand they have to make money, but I took in appx. $200 (Ebay going rates) worth of Warhammer 40k manuals, and he offered me $4.00!!!

Normally have amazing experiences here, but I bought a Super Nintendo from here recently and when I got it home I had to carefully dig several lodged chunks of hardened food out of the cartridge slot in order to get it to read a game. Fairly certain that if the console had been tested before the store themselves had bought it they would have caught this. They’re claiming they test all consoles before buying and selling them, but there’s literally no way they tested this before putting it out on the shelf. I got lucky and the console worked as soon as I got it cleaned out, but I won’t be going back anytime soon until quality control standards are raised.

Just yikes. This place is price gouging pokemon product and marking it up over 100% as if they are an online re-seller like Ebay. This is completely unacceptable as they are a RETAIL store. They should be going by the MSRP. Go somewhere else if you want a fair deal on anything. Their owner Cody does not know how to run a legit business.

Game On always has a wide variety of gaming options. From board games to video games, models like Gunpla, and even card games. Variety wise, no other specialty store in town can compare.However, that being said the store lacks some organization that holds it back and prices can be (as you might expect from a specialist store, pricey.) You also need to be savvy when buying and selling at Game On. Know what the value of a product is before you buy or sell and youll feel much better about any transaction. (This mostly is in reference to older/used games and cards but generally a good rule regardless.)Update: As the owners promised, the organization of the store has gotten much better. Its not nearly as cluttered as it once was. Therefore, Ive altered the score to reflect the improvements in store.Edit: For owners. Thanks for taking the time to respond, its always great to see owners that care. As to your point, I dont begrudge your price points typically. You /are/ running a business in a tough field that requires a little bit of inflation and its impossible to compete with places like Amazon. However, the warning reflects a few problematic cases in the past. Do they still happen? I cant say for certain so instead, Ive left it to the safe rule of thumb. As long as both the buyer and seller are happy, thats what matters to me.And Im interested in seeing what you do with the place in the future. Ill try to keep this review updated.

I had been away from the comic book world for a few years, then I decided to get back into it, and since I dont do anything normally, I decided not only was I going to pick up all the titles I used to read, I needed to have all the comics I missed during my 8+ year hiatus. With the help of three of the four stores (Kearney, Grand Island and North Platte) I was able to piece together nearly all of the Batman comics I had missed. I also randomly met with the owner/manager of the chain at the three mentioned locations and he helped me complete my obsessive task while also getting into my head and learning my personal tastes for comics in general and recommended one of the best comic stories Ive read in a long time. A knowledgeable staff is a fantastic asset and really makes your visit to a place all the more enjoyable and productive! While Im not a local by any means, Game On will retain a special place in my heart and I will definitely stop by whenever Im in the area. And dont worry, even though my Batman collection is now complete Ill likely have a new obsessive list of comics I need to find, lol.For the general public, minus my personal story, this place has a great selection of comic books, cards, collectibles and games. Plus they have a great staff! Definitely a fun place to shop at and see the things they have. Highly recommended!

When I make it to town I always loved to stop here. You can find old games that have been out of circulation for a long time. They have games for almost every console you can think of. Very reasonable prices! So much better than the competition across the street!

For a retro gaming store they have a pretty limited selection. Prices are pretty ridiculous always on the high end. High priced comics that are non graded and just sitting in bags warping. Staff for the most part are pretty unhelpful.

They easily engage in conversation, specially if its about comics and new releases.Price: I have to say that it is a little pricey since they offer mostly everything for the normal retail price (unless they have a sale or deals going on). In other words, you can find a lot of the games, comics, graphic novels, toys, cards, etc. for a cheaper price online.Selection of comics, etc: most of the time they have the comics that youre looking for, if they dont, most of the time they can back order it for you. They also have a huge selection of older comics to choose from. They also specialize in card and board games and even offer to teach you how to play. As far as videogames, they have a decent selection and you can also pre-order.Overall: its always been a pleasure to shop there.

A great local game store qwith a fantastic selection of Board, roll-playing, tabletop and video games. The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. and there has been more than one occasion where Ive been late getting somewhere because I was having fun chatting with the folks in there about game recommendations. They often will demo games for you and have a nice area for trying out games from thier library or getting together for gaming events. They do board game nights as well as Magic and Pokemon card tournaments (along with events for other games). The prices are generally a little higher than what you might find online but they more than make up for it in service and product availability.

They handle some games you cant get anywhere else. They also have an active gaming group.

Had a focus on war games and magic, good selection of other games. My issue is the atmosphere of the store. It didnt have that feel of a game store. It felt commercial. The cashier didnt really speak to us other then can I help you.

A pretty good little game store featuring tabletop, card and video games. Game On hosts numerous events throughout the week including a boardgame night and various card and game tournaments. Thier employees are very friendly and knowledgable and are happy to demo games or make a suggestion.

Its a good place to buy games of any kind, large and sometimes unique selection, but its not a good place to host your game night. Kinda has a depressing atmosphere.

The place has a wide selection of games. Some of the friendliest employees Ive ever met. I learned how to play Magic, heroclix, warmachine, and a lot of other games from the people here at Gameon. Theres no other place like it in kearney. The atmosphere is great, the people are nice and everybody is welcome to learn and play any game. This is by far my favorite store that Ive ever been too!!! :)

They had the expansions I was looking for and the employee that was there was very informational as far as the other games that had a similar style of gameplay when asked.

Staff was awesome only complaint was the lack of knowledge about the N64. Took it in there tested it at home worked fine took it there they thought the reset button was broken because they left the system on and put a game in and thought if I press the reset button the game will work so I didnt get any money.
