This is a very good shop in my opinion. I got a squire p-bass for a very good price as well as a mountain dulcimer a few months ago.

Bought my first acoustic guitar here in December and was very happy with the results. Good price, good trade in value, nice sounding guitar. They were totally transparent in showing me how they estimated the value of the trade in and how they calculated it to maintain their profit. When the guitar warped from dryness a couple months later, they provided all of the adjustments for free. Only think that would have made it better is if they told me to use the humidifier before instead of after the warp. That is the one recommendation I have, is that especially for new guitar buyers they remember to provide little bit more help and advice on how to care for the guitar.

Cool place. I have no musical talent, so a lot of it was lost on me. The place was nice and well kept though. Would recommend checking it out if you’re in the area, especially if you play guitar!

House of treasure! One of our road worn p.a. speakers died suddenly at a gig so we called Jeff to see if he might be able to save us in time before our next immediate show. He stayed open late to give us an amazing deal on some beautiful Klipsch fronts that make us sound good. Can’t imagine a cooler store or owner!

Retro Music is one of Keenes most important hidden gems. Jeff and his staff are extremely knowledgeable about anything and everything sold here and the prices are hard to match. If youre a musician in the market, Retro Music should be your first stop.

Great staff, full of knowledge, and never pushy. They know their stuff, and can lend a hand, but let you make up your own mind. Its a funky throwback to a time when music stores were as welcoming as the pub. You can find anything from beginner instruments to legendary vintage pieces, as well as instruments from local builders and luthiers. A great spot!

I have done business with Jeff Firestone for 10 years. He errs on the side of treating customers too well.He has never cheated anyone on a deal.I would buy anything, at anytime from Jeff(and plan to do so) with complete confidence.I traded in a VOX AC15 amp cab(being used as a speaker cab) the other day. It was a hard item to put a number on for a trade. He just asked me what I though was a fair number to put on it for the trade.Do business with Jeff and retro Music, all day, every day!!

Been looking for an early Martin 0-16ny, all over the world, found it at Jeffs intimate & unique music store, Retro Music! Communicated by Email, got an unhurried, personal service. No case? No problem! Sorted, and will be ready to ship to London, England, on Tuesday.Jeff has really pulled out all the stops to fulfill my dream guitar. I have bought guitars online from all over the world, but the kind of Service I received from this small store, beats anything else from anywhere, plus learned some useful info on vintage Martins. After checking the store out on Google street view, I almost feel I was a there myself. A truly inspiring human experience! And I havent even received the guitar yet, must be Christmas! Thanks again Jeff, all the best.Dave Garland. London U.K.

The best music store I have ever visited. Ive bought many guitars and a few older amps there over the years. I still have all of them except one Les Paul that I just couldnt connect with. Traded that one in a few years later for a nice Strat. Jeff has always been very helpful and fair on prices.I just bought a ES-339 and they set it up perfectly. It plays and feels just like my SG but has that unique hollow body sound. One more thing to mention about this place. Its like stepping back into the 1960s. You cant top that anywhere.

One of the coolest guitar stores ever. Like a funky guitar museum, with wide range of models and prices. I bought a used 1960s Eko acoustic there for $150.00, and used it for 20 years as my school guitar. If I had the money I would go there first to find a good deal on the coolest vintage guitars.

Love Retro Music! Great service, knowledge, selection, and personality! I had already looked at over 50 acoustic guitars but did not connect with any of them. I walked in to see Jeff at Retro Music and said I want to fall in love with a guitar today, what can you show me? After a few hours and 2 dozen guitars, I walked out with exactly what I wanted to find. The price was more than fair, there was no sales pressure, and they genuinely wanted me to find a guitar that would make me happy, not just make a quick sale. Highly recommend Retro Music and Jeff.

They tried to give me 500 bucks for a brand new guitar that goes for $700-$800. I ended up selling it for $830. They also tried to give me $125 for a guitar that I went elsewhere and got $280 for. These guys will do you dirty so I wouldnt advise selling your gear here.

This is a place for buying instruments and gear.Good selection of strings but wanted $25-30 for a pack of Normal gauge bass strings. Dont pay more than $20 for a pack, replacing strings on a bass isnt cheap and that extra $5-10 adds up. Id buy flats online for cheap if this store was my only option.I brought my bass in to get a saddle or two adjusted, not knowing at the time that it was as simple as turning them really quick with a $1 Allen wrench.... (I thought you needed a specific tool, they did not clarify that it was an Allen wrench when asked)Maybe a 1 minute job, they charged me $5, dont care too much about that, they are a business, but I was a little disappointed the guy didnt think to mention how simple It was to DIY. you go to these kind of places to learn more about your instrument, not just to be made a quick buck off of.I still get my instrument setup on a yearly basis but I dont use Retro after that experience. I dont think I can afford a proper setup from them if a 30 second job costed $5.However aside from that its important to support local music stores like this, they seem like good guys and know more than anybody working at Guitar Center. So go in, ask lots of questions and get your moneys worth.
