I would have given this place a full 5 stars, but just one, slight small issue. Starting off, the atmosphere was amazing, gave off a west/east coast vibe of being there in a diner. The food was from scratch that made it even better and authentic, the pic i have is from the creme de la crepe which was amazing, light and filling. Their options are amazing as well! Now for the slight problem; i got a apple juice that cost 6.75 for no refill. I didnt know that the fountain drinks in general cost that much like a bar drink of a small glass of whiskey, lol. Overall, the place was amazing and a great find, but need to go easy on the drinks a few dollars.
This is another branch of bigger Beacon cafe near Hicks airport. We wanted to visit the main oke. But wasn’t aware of 2 locations and ended up here. This one didn’t disappoint. Very colourful inside. We were made aware of breakfast buffet by our server. We went to take a look, and decided to order from menu as I wanted to stay vegetarian that day. Buffet had bacon, scrambled eggs, gravy, biscuits, cut fruit, grits (i might be missing a thing or two). Pancakes are also included in the buffet but would be made if you order them. Also buffet, included a free beverage. We ordered eggs florentine and coffee. Eggs florentine was severed with fresh cut fruit and potatoes … it was decent. Coffee was not hot, so when i told our server she refilled it with hot coffee.Ample of parking in the area, and on Saturday morning around 10 am it wasn’t hugely crowded… we got table right away.
First off my over easy eggs were over cooked the yolk was solid and cooked all the way, I dont even think they have seasoning in the kitchen my chicken fried steak and the gravy were both very bland. My wife got the breakfast tacos and if you like cheese youll like these because they put about 2 pounds of cheese in these things. My son got the breakfast burrito and this was actually pretty good and the salsa was really good. The service was very lackluster the waitress seemed confused when I didnt leave a tip over ten percent. Its safe to say I will not be returning to the beacon cafe and will not offer good reviews to anyone that asks me my opinion of it.
First time eating here, no one at front to greet or talk toAsking a waitress she sounded annoyed i was even asking about my pickup order or where to go for itNo one proceeded to ask if i was helped for about 3 minutes. Not wanting this to go to 5 or 10 minutes, i decided to ask cause bad service is nothing i havent seen before and having to be your own managerFood wasnt ready on time through ordering app and other waitress i spoke to didnt have much confidence in telling me if or when it would beWere well after early breakfast crowd and this doesnt look like a church rushI could tell even more i needed to be a manager and not a customer when they didnt realize i had ordered a drink with my mealThey should be paying me for keeping track, sarcasmThe mocha frappewasnt worth $5 or at all... The mocha frappe was a chocolate shake at bestThe majority of the food was okThe Belgian waffle dish didnt come with scrambled eggs, which were supposed to be for our toddlerThe Belgian waffle tasted like a donut/funnel cake mixThe overall food is about a 3/10
This place was a Nice surprise. My husband & I have been driving by this place for years! We finally decided to stop by last Saturday & when we walked in it was nothing like we expected. It was such a cute, CLEAN & friendly place! The food... oh the food... it was Amazing! Huge portions & tasty. I really recommend this place to anyone! I know my husband & I found our new Saturday breakfast spot! 😊
Food was awesome. Restaurant was clean. Friendly staff.
This place is always a treat. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. Food was good.
Food was tasty, but the service very lacking. Waitress kept disappearing. Only 1 refill on a 2.99 cup of coffee. Never got extra napkins, just the one silverware wrapped in. Had to ask for ticket to be split up, waitress never asked although we ordered that way. One waitress only, but kitchen even delivered food. Keep in mind for the 1.5 hours there was never more than a very slow 4 tables. Had to ask for boxes. Saw waitress at order, at delivery, at check placement...period. this place was not busy. No excuses for poor service. Service was a one if that. Lattes $5 and not worth it. Meh....
No wait...Good food, good service. Its not fancy, but ill take it over a 45 minute wait to get a table on the weekend. We will be back.
Im literally sitting here in the restaurant as I type this waiting on the food. The service is impeccable thus far! Weve had about 4 different people ask us if we needed anything, if we were all set, etc; its Mothers Day and its busy in here but they are handling it well. Will finish this review once the food arrives and we see and taste it.The food was delicious! We shared a big boy cinnamon roll that was very tasty and not too sweet. Large enough for 2 people (or 1 hungry person) I had the San Antonio omelette and my girlfriend had the traditional eggs benedict. Both very tasty although the hollandaise sauce was missing from the meal and when it was brought out to us it lacked flavor. The home-fries were amazingly delicious! So was the orange juice. All in all I would give this cafe 5 stars and would recommend to others and I will also return if in the area again
Pretty good. Nice atmosphere and the cook was willing to duplicate a dish only served at the original Beacon. Thank you for having us!
Food was good, My brother said his burger was really good, And my mom said her breakfast meal was good, My meatloaf was good and my mash potatoes were really good, But it said it came with a roll and I never got my roll
Poor service. 32min waiting for a coffee. Place had about 3 other costumers who were already eating when we got there. A different person approached us and asked us if we wanted anything. I said Im waiting on a coffee she then went on to do other things n I never saw them Making the coffee till I got up to leave.
Great service and food. The food could have been trash and I would still come for the service. Luckily the food is amazing and true hidden Gem! Small and family friendly. I will be back and can’t wait to try more of the menu.
We went on a Sunday for breakfast and they werent too busy. Our food took a while to come out, then we had to ask for silverware, and our waitress never came back for refills or anything. The food was good but the dining experience was lacking.
Breakfast is always delicious and the pancakes are huge and portions are generous. But that being said, you might consider a different brand/blend of coffee...very weak and bland.
Food is always awesome! The blueberry pancakes are great. Great serving sizes. Miranda is a breath of fresh air, shes so sweet.
Friendly staff. Delicious sandwiches.
Great food. Just moved to the neighborhood and my wife and I loved it!
Went in for cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate for 2. The other person didnt want to complain but all they said they were sorry but didnt say we wont charge you or did she want another one, very disappointed
This little bistro is very cozy and friendly. The owner comes around and treats every customer like family. The food is tasty and plentiful. I am a picky coffee drinker. That being said, their coffee is tasty.
Very attentive great service very friendly and smiles thank you Miranda and Michelle awesome crew
Service is outstanding and food is really good!
So disappointing after our experience. It was moderately busy when we arrived around 10:30 a.m. on a Sunday morning. We waited about an hour and a half for our food. Our waitress never checked on us or came to see if we needed anything. I was about to leave because I was hungry and would rather just hit a McDonalds, but my wife had to find our waitress to ask about our food. Within 2 minutes of us telling her we were going to go somewhere else, our food arrived, and cold. The taste of the food was good, but the wait and lack of initiative from our waitress just made the entire experience bad. We enjoyed the Haslet location at the airport because the service was always good and our food was fresh and hot.
The food is cooked fresh and it is delicious. Always full and satisfied
The food here was my mom like they coffee.there clean the table she for the are people they work togther.great helpers
The cinnamon rolls here are absolutely massive, well worth the price, and the serving size for the build your own skillet are also huge, and tastes just as good
It’s ok, nothing spectacular. There are other diners in the area that have better food, but for the price this place works out well. My wife and I had the biscuits and gravy, followed by a cinnamon roll. The biscuits were lacking in flavor and richness, but the sausage gravy made up for it. The cinnamon roll was cooked through but still had an unusual lack of browning on the surface. The cream cheese topping was more of a glaze than a frosting. Wife and I will probably be back here sometime, but hard to say when.
Waitress was wearing slippers and kept dragging her feet. Food was over cooked and tasted disgusting. Food was so bland, I had to over season everything. Eggs weren’t even cooked all the way. The only thing they managed to pull off was heating up the corned beef hash from what ever can it came out of. I will never eat here again.
We went for breakfast on New Years Day. There were only 2 servers. We were there for 2 hours. The food was really good as well as the specialty coffee. Will probably give it another chance.
Food was good and the staff was friendly
This was a truly homemade dish for my husband. We went there because they have a GF menu and options of bread. We will definitely be going back many times. The workers were very attentive so we never were out of coffee.
The waitress was accommodating some food was missing on my kids plates and she got the missing items fast. The food was okay.
Great breakfast hole in the wall type of place. Their pancakes are very tasty and they even have gluten free pancakes that are actually good! Best deal is the Beacon breakfast: pancakes or toast, 2 eggs any style, bacon or sausage and hash potatoes or grits for $10 . Love this place!
The best fish and chips Ive had in a long time. Theyre steak and eggs is fantastic too.
After a rough start with the staff it ended up being an awesome experience because of the owner. Ill be back the food was amazing.
The food here is awful pass it up!
I had the breakfast burrito and hash browns. The hash browns were a little undercooked but they were replaced with fried potatoes. But the staff was very friendly.
One of my Wworst dining experiences, avoid unless you are willing to deal with poor quality food
OMG. Should have known better when the parking lot was nearly empty. There was no church crowd We were one of five tables and it took over 30 minutes to get our food, after waiting 10 minutes to place our order. The food was medellin at best. I got biscuits and sausage gravy, lumpy gravy. The waitress was too busy eating her lunch to bother with us. We were charged for coffee refills. Three of us had hash browns, one was not cooked in the middle. The famous pancake was raw in the middle and definitely not up to the standard of the original Beacon. A poor showing for a great restaurant in Haslet.
My wifes Migas Mexican scramble with potatoes and salsa was good. My Eggs Benedict was cooked too long so it wasnt runny but still tasty and our sons Cinnamon roll later became hard like it was microwaved. We may go back and give it another try but order something else.
Food is very tasty, coffee tastes good. I especially like the crispy potatoes they serve with the breakfast dishes. Nice staff. Reasonably priced. Would go back if in Ft. Worth again.
This has been the least COVID conscious restaurant I’ve been to in Texas. Tables close together, masks not required to enter (despite the sign), we waited 45 minutes for our breakfast (we had to ask what was taking so long and they had lost our order). After all of that, the food was mediocre. Overall frustrating experience!!!
The Sunday buffet was not available, and they didnt know when it would be. Yet they had a sign in the window for it. I ordered the Eggs Benedict Alexander, and it did not disappoint. I would say it was perfect. The potatoes were fresh cooked, didnt seem like prepared potatoes under a heat lamp, really good. The meal was $12.99, coffee was $2.99, that is for regular coffee. They have an assortment of specialty coffees averaging $4.99. For the prices alone I take off a star. Quality was really good. People were friendly.
Have Been Enjoying Breakfast and Dinner For 2 Years Here.
It’s not bad, but it’s not great either. The staff is friendly but the food is only so so.
All I can say about this place is that it was really neither good nor bad. It was moderately priced and the food was moderate. Their Hot chocolate, however, was quite stellar.
I only picked up for doordash. Not one person in the entire kitchen had a mask on. I will NEVER eat there!
Love, Love this food. Breakfast is my most favorite meal of the day everyday. The Beacon Cafe` has great breakfast!
Was okay. I had the corn beef hash. My sister ordered the breakfast chicken fried steak and honestly it looked good was a decent sized portion I thought. Then underneath the gravy laid two frozen paper thin patties. Was disappointed for her and then after tasting it I was even more sad. Bland with a processed texture.
This has become my go to breakfast spot. The people are friendly and coffee is awesome. Low sodium it is not, but the skinny bikini omelette is filled with yummy, and is probably the best option in that arena. My daughter is in love with their pancakes and tries a different kind every time we go. The owner (or manager) ALWAYS greets us and thanks you for coming in. Its awesome to get that old school service these days. Give it a try I bet youll love it.
Enjoyed the breakfast, portion size will not disappoint (wife couldn’t finish her plate) and it is certainly fresh home cooking. Watching the manager greet each table and interact with customers was refreshing. No corporate hustle and bustle here. Relaxing and cozy atmosphere, not to mention the coffee is amazing. Lastly, CLEAN restrooms, as in I did not hesitate to take my 4 year old daughter to use the men’s restroom.
1st time coming here and the last time that i will visit, when we 1st arrived we had to find our own seats because all the staff members were surrounding the bar in the back which is understandable but no greetings at all. When it came time to order everything was great but the turnaround time is terrible, it took a hour and seventeen minutes to get our food out and their reasoning was they had a big group which is understanding but we had gotten there before they did (and ordered before the group did) I was highly dissatisfied with the food. Not only was it cold but alot of the potatoes tastes old, i insisted the waitress to take my plate back since i did not want to eat anymore. The waitress then went back with my food and decided to bring out more food that i havent ordered at this point. All in all when it came time to pay i had to pay for 3 plates (including the one i didnt eat and sent back) and charged me for a extra drink.
Not wowed with the new ownership. Lots of items no longer offered.
Excellent service and food
Great place for breakfast. Comfortable, nice decor - not cramped feeling like a lot of breakfast places are. Food was excellent. Service a tad slow but very nice people. Will eat here again.
Huevos Rancheros was not impressive wife had the migas was not good at all but the service was excellent.
Awesome food
Great breakfast hole in the wall type of place. Their pancakes are very tasty and they even have gluten free pancakes that are actually good! Best deal is the Beacon breakfast: pancakes or toast, 2 eggs any style, bacon or sausage and hash potatoes or grits for $10 . Love this place!
Great food and great customer service
Is this place is phenomenal!!! I waitressed Heidi was absolutely amazing and my coffee cup never wet dry. And if youre lucky enough to be able to talk with you owner hell definitely talk your ear off!! He was absolutely friendly and made us feel just at home!!
I love the food, staff and the environment.. the owner of takes the time to talk to you and make sure you are satisfied with everything and he’s very friendly and approachable. All the staff seem happy and genuinely seem to care. Love this place.
My husband and I ate breakfast here and it was such a wonderful experience. The wait staff was friendly and the owner/manager came by twice to check on us and mingle!! They have an amazing coffee bar! I had the Sea Turtle Latte and my husband had the Mexican Spiced Latte and we both were impressed by the flavors! Our food came out quickly and was delicious! Looking forward to making this a Sunday morning ritual!
Food was good, unfortunately their coffee is not. Also they overcharged my card, so now I have to go up there & dispute it & I live no where near there! Very irritating!
Food was awesome!!!
Absolutely disgusting. Will not be going back.Orders were not made correctly; left things out, didnt give us what we ordered, and undercooked food. Also, the service was EXTREMELY SLOW and the waitress was nonchalant about everything. Some of us didnt get our food, but they still charged us for it.This isnt my first bad experience either. The last time we were in there, they messed up our order. The owner came out to fix it, bit ended up getting mad at us for not just accepting his kitchens screw ups.I have a lot of not nice things to say about this place, and I wont be surprised if they close down soon. I almost hope they do so no one else has to witness this atrocity.Dont waste your time...
I ordered the Eggs Benedict Alexander, and it did not disappoint. I would say it was perfect. The potatoes were fresh cooked, didnt seem like prepared potatoes under a heat lamp, really good. The meal was $12.99, coffee was $2.99, that is for regular coffee.Sausage is really good also the hash browns cooked right. liked the dry wheat toast. Seating is not real comfortable. Not an uppty uppty place. Just good food
Well done.
Service was really slow. Bacon was undercooked. I also think our order was over looked because our food took way too long.
Not sure if this is a habit of this place or not but when we order our food, and then two people come in and order theirs well after we order, I expect to get my food before them. Sitting here for 30 minutes for our food so far and I’m pretty sure we got bumped down because the older waitress with Red hair knows them personally, they’ve got their food a good 8-10 minutes before us as I sit here typing this. Ordered at 10:47(I know because I sent a text as my wife ordered) and our plates hit the table at 11:15, I wouldn’t have an issue if it didn’t feel like you get special treatment simply because your known by an employee, hopefully next time will be better...if there is a next time that is. Customer service/treatment is key and it didn’t feel professional. Hopefully the food is good.
Awesome currently they have a 10.99 breakfast that is all you can eat. We had hot cakes they where the best I have ever had. My son had pecan and I had pineapple upside down amazing. Great place good atmosphere for kids. They have lots if aviation memorabilia. Thanks for the great breakfast.
Family owned and operated. Food is good. Coffee is great!
My wife found this cafe this morning. Super friendly staff. Today, Sunday, they have a little breakfast buffet which was great because I got to try a little of everything. Their Migias were terrific!Decorations are part coastal vibe with lighthouses and beach pics and in the back lots of military plane pics.Definitely a place that welcomes Veterans!!!!Im really looking forward to our next breakfast here before church!!!
Loved their food.
Ok peeps.... Y’all have to try this place!! It’s simply the best. All food made from scratch not frozen. The coffee I drank BLACK. Y’all I don’t do that. The manager came by and met us, and gave the girls rings. Even did a magic trick for them. Please please try this place!!
This place is the best. I love their coffee, and their breakfast is amazing. You need to also try the meatloaf. It may be better than mine! Owners really care about all the details. I drive from downtown Fort Worth because there is no place like it. Love it!
My family and I have been here a few times and it never disappoints. The food a awesome, the coffee is to die for, and the staff is a dream. They instantly make you feel like family. The owner makes it a point to come by and visit for a bit with each table. He really seems to care about the customers unlike some of the other places we have eaten at. He also brings a little toy to our kiddos every time. What a great family restaurant with awesome food and amazing coffee!
Something has changed; website says new owner so...Good but it wasn’t as good. That lead me to look at the website and reviews. We felt like the quality of the food preparation had changed and not for the better. Seemed like the person cooking the food doesn’t eat or didn’t grow up eating the good O’l American fare. I cannot recommend the grits cooked al dente. The gravy tasted like a mix verses from scratch.Hopefully, the new owner will talk to the old owner and bring back the old ways. Also noticed the “The house wasn’t packed” on a Saturday morning when it usually was.
The slowest pisspoor service I have ever experienced. Waited 45 minutes without receiving my food. The waitress act liked she could careless.
Good breakfastSausage is really good also the hash browns cooked right. liked the dry wheat toast. Seating is not real comfortable. Not an uppty uppty place. Just good food
Our first time here for breakfast. And it was phenomenal. Great food, friendly and prompt service. Looks like we have found our favorite dine-out spot. Thank you Beacon Cafe. :-)
We were early for an appointment in the area so we decided to have a quick breakfast. The service was exceptional, the food was brilliant. Id definitely recommend this place.
Went to this place for the first time a month or so ago. It was good and service was decent. We went again this morning and it was horrible. We were there for 2 hours. It took an hour to get our food, at which point it was cold and some of the orders were wrong/incomplete. We ordered more pancakes because the first batch was wrong. They didnt come out until after everyone else was done eating. The kitchen got the order wrong for my pregnant sister, made her wait, and the manager/owner had the nerve to give her attitude when she asked for a to-go box for her pancakes. Then we waited another 30 minutes just to get the checks. They were wrong. Waited another 15 and we were finally out of there. Wont be going back due to this experience.
Holy cow, 2 strips of bacon. $4.002 eggs. 2.501 cup coffee 2.99.Plus tip 13.00 for senior mini mealDixie house. Better food plus toast and hashbrown 5.99Out the door with tip 9.00
Great crepes and coffee!
Usually good. Great breakfasts, but this evening visit was beyond dissatisfaction. Undercooked beef AZ nd weak gravy on the mashed potatoes was hard to take. The dinner salad was verygood.
Great food, reasonably priced and super nice people work there!! We go often for a super breakfast and the best blueberry pancakes EVER!!!! Always a treat to go to The Beacon on Beach and see the owners Rich and Espie! 💗💗💗
Very good !
I had biscuits gravy and scrambled eggs was very good and fresh coffee
