Mainely Murders Bookstore was a fantastic find on my recent trip to Kennebunkport. The shop is organized with a huge selection of books to choose from. If you’re interested in a particular author, the owner has a wealth of knowledge and will give recommendations. Had I not been flying home I could have spent lots of time and money in Mainely Murders!

I love Mainely Murders! We try to go at least every couple of months to restock our reading pile. It’s owned by a couple of women who are absolutely brilliant at suggesting new authors to try.

Loved the book store, bought a local authors set of 4 books and did not receive my free Maine lottery ticket or scratch off, whatever it said you received with a local purchase. Hence the 3 stars...I spent over 100.00, on several books- should have gotten my ticket.

Anne was just lovely. We showed up in the off season from out of town, not knowing they werent open, and she let us in anyway. She gave some excellent suggestions that led to a few purchases, chatting with us the entire time about books. What a great shop!

Drove all the way from CT to come shopping here, but the hours on google are wrong. Says they close at 5, but they close at 3:30 on saturdays. Annoyed is an understatement.

Great little bookstore to visit! Cute and cozy and such a fun theme. Owner is very friendly and you can tell they love what they do. Definitely recommend swinging by and looking around.

Ann and Paula are fantastic! Their little store is packed with books and they know exactly where every single one is. I could have spent the entire day listening to their stories and seeing how they interact with their regulars. They both made recommendations after listening to my favorite things, and I was not disappointed! I will never again go to Maine without saying hello to these lovely ladies.

The real deal... owners are generous with their extensive knowledge of mysteries, the authors and all kinds of interesting details. They are the center of a community of devoted mystery lovers. I was engaged by the poignant information re: loss of wonderful books because they are not being reprinted and the books were published 20 years ago. Guardians of an undervalued genre. Worth a look.
