It is a chain store, but having a large brick and mortar book store is nice to have. Big selection, friendly staff that make it feel less like a chain and more like a local store.

I went in looking for Native American books by Native American authors and the gentleman who helped me was simply put...AMAZING!

Amazing!! Been A Long Time Since Ive Been In Barnes & Noble & They Surely Did Not Disappoint Me At All. They Have A Plethora Of Books (of course), On Many Many Topics!! Surely A Must Visit If You Find Yourself Going To The Columbia Center Mall To Brouse, Shop or Kill Some Time!! You Wont Be Disappointed!!

They always have the books Im looking for. They also have books my 9 year old loves to read.

Nice to walk into a real bookstore. Very clean, even the bathrooms, and well-stocked displays of particular subjects on small tables were scattered throughout the store. Masks are required and large dispensers of hand sanitizer were strategically situated at entrances.

A lady asked if I needed help and very kindly showed me where the item is wanted was. When I asked the worker at the Starbucks where I was meant to pay since I saw that the registers werent open they kindly told me where to pay and let me check out at the Starbucks as well. Overall everyone was nice, respectful, and the music in the store was great, loved walking in and hearing White Flag.

I have been coming in here since I was a kid. It is a great place to just relax and look at all of the different new books on the shelves from all the great writers. We are really losing touch with tactile reading and we really need to get back into teaching our children the value of a book over a smartphone.

Awesome. But mens bathroom is structured where someone in the hallway can see you peeing. Kinda weird.

Love the variety that they had from the books, to the games, even the kids section was very well set up. The only down side was just the seating arrangement was limited! I know their are covid restrictions in place but it seemed like they didnt have much in place for seating at all, 2 tables with 2 chairs a piece is a little ridiculous!

Lots n lots of books. One can get lost in fun and knowledge.

Love it usually but the way the store was set up was very spacious and they keep everything posted with sings to keep up to date with the times. Very very well organized and clean

Although I didnt go inside it was inside a shopping mall and it looked very beautiful from outside from what I can tell everybody looked comfortable it was a warm and inviting environment

Vast selection of books, board games, card games, hobby packs etc. Store has a nice welcoming atmosphere to it with a coffee shop inside. It would be awesome if they had more tables for people to play board games and drink coffee though. Overall, a well-kept store with very friendly staff!

The ventilation who checked us out was absolutely amazing. So nice.

I get most of my books here. Its always so clean and the staff is wonderful and very helpful.

Great place to find a wide assortment of books, whether its a book of fiction or fact. Theres a wonderful coffee shop inside, and the food/drinks are reasonably priced. Helpful staff, and clearly labeled shelves. My only point i think they can improve on is that they need to put the books on Paganism and Wicca in the religious column instead of the mythology section. They can order nearly any book you want, and can recommend many more. If youre in search of games, they have that, too!

Great staff if you are buying lots of stuff I recommend the discount card they offer saves you money in the long run plus xmas is right around the corner

I liked how clean the store was and how welcoming it felt. My nephews enjoyed looking at the books.

Excellent customer service from Jamie and Jessica. I was having an issue with my brand new nook not being able to read the sd card. They literally spent 2 hours trying to find the issue including research (as the device itself just came out) until they learned how to resolve it and then taught me. They were extremely friendly and helpful.

Best place ever!If youre looking for a good place to relax while you search for, not only books, but, more stuff like board games, notebooks, etc. This is the perfect place!

Liked it because its a book store. The book selection is okay. They have a large variety. The workers are okay if you can find one.

Covid still complicates everything. Finding people to work anywhere is challenging. It is obvious Barnes and Noble is no different. The book side of the store has some if not many of the previous employees back. The lady manager is an angel.The disagreeable cashier commented about in other reviews is still here. He was rude to me also. The cafe struggles with short staff, inexperience and lack of supplies. Attempting to communicate thru a plastic barrier with a mask on and a lack of experience and confidence is tough. I wish them all the best. We are in this together, but rude cashiers are not appreciated.

Love me a bookstore! This one has books galore and more. Great place to find a new game or two.

We haven’t been in Barnes and Noble since right before the lockdown ( we are from out of town). Barnes and Noble is ALWAYS our first stop when we are visiting. I was a little shocked as we entered store. The store felt like it was closing. I was surprised by the new layout. Some spaces wide open (obviously for 6 feet social distancing) but some spaces closer together and cramped. Because we had been on the road we needed to use the restrooms. The stench was almost too much. The restroom could have been cleaner. My teens went over to the manga section while I checked the rest of the store out. The store was neat and tidy. As I was wandering I noticed that employees were watching my kids closely. Which was a little annoying I did check in with the kids a couple of times to let the employees know they did have a parent around. Didn’t seem to change the hawk like attitude. And then came time to checkout. During checkout the older man asked me if I had a Barnes and Noble card. ( we have in the past ) I said “no” I wish we had a Barnes and Noble in our town. At that he pretty much scolded me and told me we never had one we had a Borders. I was shocked, first of all I said I WISH we had a Barnes and Noble. Not anything else. And second I’ve worked in retail for over 30 years. I would get fired if I spoke to someone like that. Some people are not equipped to work the counter and should not. His demeanor along with the lifelessness of the store has made our once happy place to shop not so happy.

I got manga from here and I love it sm!! The workers are so nice and so helpful!

A good book or 3 from your favorite authors is great for summer cool downs.

When I went in, it was very quiet- but a comfortable kind of quiet! Employees are always kind and extremely helpful, going above and beyond for their customers!! plus the waft of new books and coffee makes the atmosphere in there so cozy

When I am unable to find a book anywhere else Barnes and Noble always had it no matter what!

Well appointed store at the Columbia River Center Mall, no mall entrance because of Covid-19 restrictions but easily accessible from parking lot. Good selection of books for all age groups.

Good cafe. Only 30 minute seating. Can not linger and look through your purchase. Miss the extra waiting seating, if more than 1 looking and buying.

Store was clean and organized. Found everything I needed.

My daughter is an avid reader. We are always able to find the books she is interested in at this store. Love it

Mall prices for sure, but has anything you might want in a book store. I found adult coloring books with swear words!!! It was AMAZING!! All my friends wanted one for their birthdays. But dont expect to find anything cheap in this store.

I placed an online order for curbside pickup. Waited 2 days but didnt hear anything so I called. Automated message says they are open 10-7, M-Su and then transfers me to someone at the store. Phone rings and rings and rings. After maybe 3 minutes of ringing a robot voice tells me no one is available and then hangs up. So I decide to drive down to the store. It is apparently closed indefinitely, no date for when they will be reopen listed. No reason for the closure listed. The only reason I know they are closed is because they have a small note on their front door. No notice online, no updated Google listing, no message when you call them. Why am I able to make a curbside pickup for a store that is no longer open? The store management could have done any number of responsible things to let customers know the store is closed, least of which includes a sign on the front door. I have no doubt Barnes & Noble will go bankrupt in the near future and I hope as that time comes every lazy SOB involved in this debacle will be the first ones let go.

I normally dont get excited to go to a book store, but i do have to say this one has got my approval.

I went to look at books with my sister in law like we normally do and an employee from Barnes and Noble told us to wear a mask so we put it on and he left, he’s fine, we’re fine . Later on we were looking at books and read some and put them away.We went to another aisle and saw some books and put them away. We left to another aisle looking at more books and the same worker comes upset telling us why are we trying to cover books with other books! That if we were triggered by his books we could walk away from the store! When really we had only misplaced some books, but he was making it about political books because he didn’t complain about the other books we accidentally misplaced. So we told him sorry for that but it wasn’t enough for him. Two minutes later he came back again looking for us (in he’s hand the two books I was looking at ) to tell us that he had us on camera and if we have a problem we can leave and slowly raising hes voice to where people were starting to get his attention . But like I told him ‘no I’m not buying the books, I already read part of it so that’s why I put it away ‘Was he doing it because of politics?Does anyone else know of workers who get this upset when you misplace an item ?Or was he upset cuz we didn’t have a mask at first, I’m not sure if this qualifies as harassment but it seems like it to me.

Barnes & Noble has always been my favorite place to go! They have a huge selection.

Happy to see BnN focused on selling books and not lining up w politics. We found books on Trump as well as Kamala. Love the bargains, love the aura all around. So happy.

We werent allowed to leave the store by normal mall exit doors. We HAD to go outside and go all the way around. Which made no sense to me. If they were trying to keep coming out and they should lock the doors from the outside mall entrance and allowed the people leaving the store to go out into the mall easy enough to do. But the way we were treated by the staff are I will not be back

Just got a huge japanese learning addition package for my early birthday gift, and a lot has been added and moved around, very well done.

I love B & N. But, I was disappointed here. I wanted a best seller political book, and they had 3 copies. After Taking me to the locations around the store I had already been to, they asked me stay put and they would check one last place.They found a copy. Of that Im happy, but not that it was buried in a back room. Partisan politics at work ?

Such a wonderful place to go when the library is closed. It is quiet, clean, and full of wonderful things!

Staff always willing to assist you, take you right to the section or the book of necessary. Friendly courteous staff, always a joy to go there.

This is my favorite place in town. I have found almost any book I wanted so far without Amazon. There are cute gifts too. I strongly recommend Barnes & Noble membership. This will help keep alive book stores against online retailers.

Book selection is excellent. Comfortable temperature. Clean and not cluttered, walk ways between shelves is good. Good signs on top of shelves telling you fiction or non fiction and the topics like cook books or crafts ect. They have a large selection of magazines. A small Cafe. Some comfortable chairs to sit and read so you can determine if you want to buy. A really good book store, you feel comfortable shopping here.

They have so many good books, they are all interesting. My only problem is how expensive things are. I bought 2 books and it costed around 25 dollars and they werent super special ones either. I do know that a hardcover book is always around 16 dollars! Besides that I would recommend getting some books u enjoy from there.

They changed up their shelves so things look different but they have a wide variety of things I always love coming in.

Even the local library has staff who greet you and help you find what book you need. The clearance section is actually pretty fire though.
