The bad: the bagel dog (with cheese) was apparently completely inedible. My son said it was hard as a rock and the hot dog was burnt and tough (and he said too wrinkly… whatever that means. It (and the nearly 8 dollars that I spent on it) went immediately into the trash.The good: basic bagels. Probably always a safe bet.The fact that I had to throw away the most expensive thing that I ordered (the lunch for one of my children) means I won’t be going back.

Excellent bagels, poor execution, otherwise 5 stars. I came in an hour before close and could tell I wasn’t wanted. Boxes for inventory were everywhere and mats rolled up. Kid was sweeping inches from my table to get out. I wanted a quick dine in. I ordered my bagels, one butter one cream cheese, and they didn’t bother to toast them. If that’s not a given (should be), at least ask the guest? So I guess I’ll try to enjoy this room temperature bagel with caked, cold butter 🤦🏻. Maybe I’ll just buy in bulk and toast on my own if it’s that much trouble. Great bagels for sure though.

Sunday morning service was quick and accurate. I got a bakers dozen of bagels and cream cheese and it was delicious!

We ordered 100 bagels of all varieties, along with many different cheeses for our Sunday brunch (after our sons and daughter-in-laws wedding the night before) Everything arrived on time, and as a true New Yorker, (the bagel capital of the world), I can honestly say these were some of the best bagels we have ever eaten !!! All the other guests agreed as well.Thank you again Cody, and Barry Bagels staff !!! Keep on doing what you are doing !!!

My husband stopped in to pick up two bagels for me. He requested two everything bagels and a small container of scallion cream cheese. He was asked if he wanted it toasted and he replied no. He did not check the order before leaving but upon opening the bag at home and removing the contents there were two sliced and toasted bagels with cream cheese already applied. Plain cream cheese not scallion. How hard is it to screw up an order that simple?

We tried a little bit of everything: a honey roasted turkey sandwich on a jalapeno cheddar bagel, a hot pastami sandwich on an onion bagel, a side of macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, potato salad, an onion stick, and a pizza bagel.The sandwiches are loaded with toppings, I could only eat half in one sitting. The onion sticks are big and a little salty, reminds me of everything bagel seasoning. The mac and cheese is creamy and tastes homemade. Everything was delicious!

Checked this place out. The chocolate chip bagel was delicious and so was the coffee. Their cream cheese is really good too! Customer service was excellent! The girl working there was super nice!

Stopped in for lunch once, and have gotten a dozen bagels to go two weekends in a row. They are truly superb bagels. My personal fave is the sunny grain (with sunflower seeds), and my husband loves the spinach feta. Our 5 year old recommends the chocolate chip. The flavored cream cheese is also delicious, love the veggie ranch with bits of fresh broccoli. Service has been very good every visit, too, with lots of patience explaining the menu and offering suggestions. So glad to have this location right down the street.

Super fresh bagels!! Yummy good. Fresh brewed tea great. However the ordering process was unorganized. Large sign order here w/ big arrow pointing down...logically thinking a person would order there...oh no that is where you pay and manager made sure you didnt stand in wrong spot. They must do an awesome business as there were several ordering in person as well as door dash and online orders being picked up. We would go back for another fresh bagel!

Was craving a bagel and decided to get a sandwich here over lunch. The staff was quick and the food was good!They have many bagels to choose from but you can also customize bagel sandwiches as well. More than I expected for a bagel shop!

The few times I have been here, they seem to sell out pretty quickly. The bagels Ive had were fine, but walked out twice when over 1/2 the varieties I wanted were no longer available. Once was legit because it was later in the day; the other time was still early in the morning so I was surprised.**Update--I received a response to my review from the business that I should ask if the racks look empty because they bake throughout the day. Lesson learned.

These bagels are THE BOMB! I made my own version of an eggel/turkey sandwich on a blueberry bagel. It was amazing. The bagels are fresh and labeled clearly. The atmosphere is hip and modern! I do recommend looking at the menu ahead of time so you can be prepared! (also get a cookie.)

Did not visit the establishment.Doordash delivery, I had no experience with staff. Only the food.Pizza bagel was sauce and cheese melted to top of bagel. I would have rathered the bagel be opened and than toasted after pizza ingredients. Item tasted microwavedChilds bagel hotdog- is exactly as it sounds hotdog wrapped in bagel bread. Was a bit over priced but was edible. Nothing spectacular.Turkey sandwich- appeared to be plump, and good coloring of contents. Was told it tasted okay2 bagels with cream cheeseDecent quality good amount of cream cheese arrived cool to touch which may have been doordash related.Overall I say its an average bagel shop with average food at a slightly higher price. I really love the bagels at Barrys. They arent as heavy and chewy as some other bagels. Ive also been able to get everything bagels (my personal favorite) there at differing times of the day, whereas weve not had much success getting them at Paneras. The matzo ball soup was excellent. The service is usually very good. Ive only gotten to-go orders, but the facility appears to be clean and well maintained. They currently have only front door entry, but you can exit out of either the front or rear doors.

Its okay. I only ordered bagels with cream cheese for myself and a few coworkers..the blueberry bagel is bland and so is the strawberry cream cheese. Im willing to give them another try though, just different flavors!

I was in the shop this morning both as a Door Dasher and a customer myself. In both instances the customer service was incredible. As a customer I appreciate how Barry’s continues to spice up their menu with seasonal selections. Their seasonal bagel and cream cheese were amazing as an egg sandwich. I’ve never personally been into this bagel shop, but I have heard from numerous people that the owner, Jen treats her employees like trash.

Every time we go they’re always out of everything. Just visited on 11AM on a Monday and they were out of coffee. The staff seemed more interested in talking to one another than paying attention to their job.

Really nice staff!! You guys are working so hard, and my food was delicious! I also love that they let customers put their own ice in the iced coffee, a smart way to make sure everyone is satisfied!

I used to order from barry bagels several times a week through door dash, but now they (Barry Bagels) have changed the delivery area and I am unable to order. Not sure why? Are you not needing my business? Very disappointed 😞.

Our favorite Saturday and Sunday morning spot! Spot is consistently prepped and is great and they really adjusted well to maintaining and making service easy during the pandemic. I wish there were more locations around town, especially in Springboro or Austin Landing!

I placed an online order last night for 8 everything bagels and two 1/2 lb containers of plain cream cheese. Today I picked up the order, got home, and most of the everything toppings had come off all 8 bagels and were loose in the bottom of the bag. It almost looked like Barry Bagels had taken 8 sesame seed bagels and tried to turn them into everything bagels by putting water on the top and trying to get the everything topping to stick. I dont know, but what I received was a poor imitation of 8 everything bagels. I was in there last week and the everything bagels were great. But today they were not good at all. I would have taken them back and requested a refund, but by the time I got home and then realized the problem, the store was closed.

We love Barry Bagels! The staff is very friendly and the food is always very fresh. Cody, Jenn and the staff are great! They keep the restaurant very clean and it is overall a great experience every time we go.

Dont like that you cant order over the phone, only by text message. Website said they didnt receive the order but employee checked and said the store had it. They didnt have the type of bagel we ordered but instead of texting back, they just substituted what they wanted to. Ordered three drinks and received no straws. Overall, not a good experience but normally like them.

This is our second time here. Staff are very friendly and the place is very clean. Our sandwiches were delicious. Of particular note was the Matzo Ball soup...its a must try. Coming back soon!

These Bagels are really good! Staff is always so nice. Last weekend when we came in they were out of Everything Bagels. They immediately started a new batch offered us drinks and a cookie while we waited. The soup or macaroni of the day is always amazing. Definitely a place to check out!

Third week in a row, no onion poppyseed bagels, blonde bimbo at the counter, just says “no baker” and moves on to the next customer. Manager grabs a phone, walks outside, walks back in and says “no baker, place an order and come back tomorrow”.Sorry, I don’t have the time for this. If I could rate them no stars I would!

I love that you can see them making the bagels all the time - theyre always fresh! The employees are friendly and helpful in navigating the menu (and great at providing suggestions of bagel/sandwich combinations to try!). There are so many different options but you cant beat the vanilla cinnamon bagel!!! The seasonal bagel is a nice way to keep the menu exciting, too. Its definitely worth the wait!!!

Just ordered catering from Barrys Bagels for the first time. Their bagels are incredibly fresh, great-tasting, and have excellent texture. The cream cheeses are delicious, too. The staff was very friendly and had my order ready to go since Id placed it online in advance. Everything was packaged nicely and conveniently (everything bagels in a separate bag, etc.). Will definitely return soon. The restaurant is cozy and modern. Thanks for doing such a great job and making our morning!

Im not a huge bagel fan, but always looking for a good spot for deli sandwiches. They have a good selection of standard deli meats and breads and everything is usually very fresh. Barrys has some of the best cookies for a treat afterwards. Lines can be on the longer side, but glad I found this deli hidden in a bagel shop!

Good food, parking stinks

These are our favorite bagels in the Dayton area. They are the only *real* bagels, because they boil them before baking which makes them crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. My favorite thing to get is an everything bagel toasted with plain cream cheese, tomato, and bacon. Theres lots of other yummy cream cheese flavors to choose from, lox, breakfast or lunch. They also have soups (including matzo ball which I havent tried), salad, fruit, potato salad, macaroni salad, pickles, chips, coffee, bottled drinks, fountain drinks, fresh brewed iced tea, and hot chocolate.

I have been here so many times where the manager was here and still the lazy employees let me sit there for 20 minutes before they even acknowledged I was here. Now Ive been outside (they wont let people come in) waiting for an order of 1 sandwhich and 1 bagel for well over 25 minutes. While people that have come much later than me got their order. These people care nothing for their customers. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Very nice concept. Tasty food. Definitely you need to try it. There are a lot of things to choose from. The only issue is the slow process. They become really slowwwww if a 3 sandwiches get ordered at the same time

It was my first time going to Barry Bagels and it was a good experience. My sister recommended I go there because she enjoyed her experience. I got a plain bagel with traditional cream cheese and the flavor was simply delicious. Im definitely recommending this place because of the quantity and quality of bagels which I believe beats store bought bagels

I dont even like Bagels, but Barrys is different. The food is wonderful for starters, enough so to entice someone like myself who rarely even enjoys the food the restaurant is named after. Much more importantly is the environment inside the store. The managers are incredible, and Jonathan in particular will stop at nothing to care about every customer that comes before him, hes just such a warm and hospitable person. Even though the shop is new and their employees are still learning, its a pleasure every time I get to go because the food is great and the staff is too!

The restaurant is very dirty. Crumbs on the table. Crumbs and food on the floor. Staff was young. Bot well trained on customer service. I feel the prices compared to other bagel locations such as Panera bread or Marx Brothers Bagels seem fresher, more competitively priced and the staff is better trained and the restaurants are much cleaner. A single bagel here is $1.19. but if you want to add cream cheese, then the price goes up to 2.95. 1.80 for cream cheese? Well I would not recommend this place. It will probably go the way of Pizza Fire and the Sushi place prior to that. And if you want a drive through.....keep on driving.

I just moved to Dayton and I was terrified I wouldnt e able to find a good bagel place. Not only are the bagels delicious, but they use real fresh eggs on their breakfast sandwiches! The bagels are a bit smaller than Id like, but this place is still a 5!

I really liked this place. They have a good selection of bagels - lots of classics, some savory and a few sweet (I got the chocolate chip bagel) - and several different cream cheeses to chose from when you start. They also make sandwiches and they had a lot of ingredients for that, too. The prices were fair and it all tasted good.

Excellent bagels and quick service. Weve been here a couple of times for lunch and both times were great. The bagels have good flavor and are traditionally-made, boiled & baked with a firm crust and chewy texture. They offer many sandwich choices including an excellent lox and cream cheese; though the staff will need you to cue them for the traditional accompaniments of a lox and cream cheese bagel. They definitely have everything, but youll need to tell them. Otherwise, the staff is attentive, friendly, and eager to fill your order. We also appreciate that the produce is locally sourced through Dorothy Lane Market and the sliced bread comes from Big Sky. Both are high quality associates. When youre not in the mood for a bagel, they have plenty of soup and salad options. They brew several flavors of coffee including a rich regular roast, all of which are self-serve and regularly maintained. They also offer standard soda fountain and real, brewed iced tea.

The best everything bagel I’ve ever had! So good and tasted so fresh. Their Matzo ball soup was delicious also. Very very impressed with this restaurant.

Food is nice. Not too filling but just right. I recommend a pumpernickel bagel with turkey pastrami, hot mustard, and havarti cheese.

A coworker brought in bagels for the office from Barrys and it was glorious! Its been a very long time since Ive had a tender bagel. The exterior had the traditional bagel shine and smoothness, the instead from like fresh baked bread from the oven. It was doughy and melted as you bit into it. I had the Everything bagel and it wasnt an overload for your tongue. Just the right spice and seasoning, if didnt linger once I was done eating.

I am originally from near Toledo. A small town called Waterville, 5 miles from Bowling Green. But we always say Toledo because everybody knows where Toledo is. Barrys Bagels was started in Toledo. When I heard that they were coming to Kettering I was so excited. They make their bagels the traditional New York way. There bagels are completely amazing. The cookies are to die for. I cant decide which ones are my favorite. Salted caramel, M&M, double chocolate chip.

There are a lot of details about the menu that are not published. For example the standard BLT comes with 8 pieces of bacon, but there is a Junior with 4 pieces and a smaller one with 2 pieces... If you are a regular or are familiar with the menu, the food was good (not as flavorful as I expected) and the staff was friendly.

To the guy that made my order: you are the pinnacle of productivity, you made all three bagel sandwiches in the time it takes an average human to make one. You even took the time to flip my extra crispy bacon in the microwave to ensure all pieces are equally crispy like a fkg savage. This is why we keep coming back to Barry Bagels.

We spoke with the owner today. Her name is Jennifer, and she was the sweetest thing. We spoke of how she wants to expand, and how the people are so happy to work here. She really seems like she treats her employees well. And happy employees make for happy customers! The food is superb, and made me appreciate bagels so much more than I did. I come here any time work allows me the day off to do so! And she is expanding all across Dayton area, so I can’t wait for more to open.
