Took 3 hours to sell my car. The initial estimate was close to the online offer. Initial estimate took about 45 minutes. Was told would take another 30 minutes to complete the sale. More than 3 hours after arrival received the check. Expect to be here half a day if you are selling your car. You have to provide your own transportation after your sale. The offer was a bit more than others.

I enjoyed doing business with CarMax. My sales representative was very friendly, knowledgeable and since I drove all the way to the lot from upstate ny he went that extra mile to make sure I was in and out and back on the road heading home. He even helped me get the rental car I used to come down,back to the rental agency. The sales Rep was Awesome to say the least.

All the comments about the process talking 3+ hours is true.Our sales person was great. Signing the paperwork took HOURS.2 stars because you can get a great deal.

We arrive a little before our appointment,We filled out some papers and had the car appraised, we were told it would be 30-45 minutes. After three hours someone finally came over to greet us and go over the appraisal. When I expressed it was a 3 hour wait the rep said “oh yea that’s normal” I explained we were not informed of that, the receptionist told us 30-45 minutes. Not once in the three hours did anyone “check” on us. Keep us update. I felt like we handed over the keys and were stuck with no communication what so ever. Once the appraisal was completed, the process was pretty quick.

Bought a car from here 2 months ago. During all the paper work they took out the money for 3 years of registration. I still have not seen it. Everytime I have called the number online they either dont pick up the line or will pick it up and hang up immediately. This has left a sour taste in my mouth. I would encourage not using this place in the future.

Bought a car from them and 5 months and 3,500 miles later the engine blew up!! When I first bought it I purchased and extended warranty from them which was a SCAM that didnt cover any of my damage! The car had an excessive oil consumption and it was tested and confirmed by their mechanics but still didnt want to respond for the damage! Ended up selling my car somewhere else losing SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS and buying a certified one!

Got my first car here great customer service and very informative. I would recommend. Always do your research before any big purchases and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Take someone with you that knows about cars. The process was a little long but I know that it’s because it was my first car and things take time. I spent like 3-4 hrs here . I don’t remember the exact time but I was there all day. Left with a nice car and was happy with my purchase very minor issue got fixed immediately.

It was a rough start getting my new car and I contributed to a few of the issues with mistakes on my end but Carmax made it happen. They went above and beyond to make sure my car was delivered to my house and not only did they deliver my car they brought my fiancé and I a Bouquet of flowers and card for our soon to be born daughter and they even remembered her name! I dont know what happened to my other review on here but it suddenly disappeared. Very sus. This is a bait and switch. When I arrived I stood and waited around at least 20 minutes before I realized there was a reception desk bc no one bothered to greet me in the lobby. After finally receiving paperwork the quote I was given was not even close to what I was told in the original email. It was a waste of time for me..I have since received better offers from 2 other companies and a fantastic deal on a refinance. CM has since asked if I wanted to trade on another car. I guess so they could have another shot at ripping me off. I checked the prices and terms on this site. Who would buy a car from here??

It was nice being able to pick the car i wanted to test drive and the process of purchasing was pretty painless but there was some damage on my front bumper from transport that i was told would be fixed for no charge.. and that their service department would reach out to me to schedule an appointment.. a week after purchase i still hadn’t received a phone call so i called on a friday morning and had to leave a voice mail that i have yet to hear back from…

Bought a car from Kop branch in June and a few weeks after buying the car it started having mechanical issues, car couldn’t start then had brakes and rotors issues yet it had passed the inspection test for 2022.6 months down the road they didn’t get my car registration . I sold my car to CarMax, and it was a very easy process. Got an instant quote online and appraisal came back at the same price. Very pleased with the transparent and easy process.4 stars because the logistics at the store could use a lot of improvements.Setting up an appointment has no purpose. Its first come first serve. So if youre coming on a Sat, get here at open otherwise itll be at least a 2 hour wait. They estimate about 20 min per person. I had 3 people ahead of me and it took them about an hour to get to me, so true to their word.Theres only 1 person at the business office who checks you in. Wish theyd at least have 2 people checking people in and letting people know the ETAs.There are forms to fill out if you are selling your car which has a loan or lease. Itd be nice to have those forms available so that you can fill it out while waiting in line. Why have people wait 30 min in line then fill it out once you get to the window? Oh and make sure to have title (if you own it) and registration in hand. Theyll need it in the businesses office.Overall selling the car was super easy. Lots of inefficiencies at the store however.

I had been looking for that specific truck; loaded with low miles and no rust. My local CarMax dealership did not have what I wanted but I saw on the CarMax web site that the King of Prussia store did. I called the store and scheduled to come up immediately to test drive the truck. I walked in and was greeted nicely; told the salesman the truck I wanted to see; he got the truck for me and my wife to test drive; and we both loved it. The truck was a great deal; low miles; and loaded with all the bells and whistles; and absolutely no rust. A 5 star experience.

Selling my car here was a very simple process. I entered the car information on their website and got an appraisal, then went in person the next day. It took about an hour and left with the check. Jackson worked with me and was very polite and helpful. I recommend getting there as early as possible, I was one of the first people there with an appointment and it got busy quickly after that.

Process of selling the car is a bit slow, I did go there in the afternoon, around 5pm. Other than the long wait time to get them to prep the paperwork, everything was very smooth and staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.

Terrible. Made an appointment for 5pm. Car was physically appraised by 6pm. Did not have an offer or speak to anyone until 9:23. Staff left after 7:30 leaving one person to take care of multiple customers waiting for 3+ hours.

I purchased a Volvo S80 2 weeks ago and the car was as described on the website. The test drive and sales process was straightforward and no pressure. I noted that the car did not have original floor mats (inexpensive aftermarket mats) and that oddly the gear shift knob was damaged. The car was also not clean. CarMax ordered a new gear shift knob and said I could purchase OEM mats and send them the receipt that would be fully reimbursed - so very fair and accommodating service. And the car would be thoroughly cleaned at pick up. My only initial complaint was that I came up two days later to pick up the car, the business department was swamped (short staffed) and despite my appointment time being established (I actually arrived 30 minutes early), I ended up waiting 3 hours to conclude the sale and complete the paperwork. CarMax did apologize and offered a free oil change certificate. Secondly, the car was still not clean. Again, CarMax delivered by saying I could have the car detailed and send them the receipt. Very fair. All in all, we got a very nice car for a fair price and the sales service was very good. At this point I am a CarMax fan and would recommend them, and I would buy there again. EJM

Got bad experience with Car Max King of Prussia. I went there 3 times they keep telling me to come back because they are lazy calling my toyota loan payoff over the phone. I told them I took a day off on my 3rd day but the manager just send me home. at 11:00am I was there when they open at 10am so I went to another Car Max dealer at Maple Shade NJ at1:30 pm and I was able to sell my car and I was able to get my check at 5 pm. The CarMax in King of Prussia does not have a system they should fire the manager.

Do not purchase vehicle in the kop store. Immensely inept. Purchased vehicle with 2022 inspection and it ended up needing four tires full brakes, pads and rotors, front end alignment. I returned in 4 days to exchange for a hopefullybetter car. The business office never returned loan money from first purchase. So we were paying for two cars for four months. And the registration address was recorded wrong. Simple things yes, but extremely inconvenient for the customer. No help from a curt, uninterested business office manager and it took an additional 10 days for the company to reimburse the bank. I mean they had four months but needed another 10 days. Terrible experience. Im returning to a regular car dealership to purchase my sons vehicle. It cant be worse than this experience.

Best place to buy used car. They have different varieties of car including some of the luxury ones. You can check any car and also check the details of the car. And if you like any car, you can buy. Their price is really very good. I checked one Honda car and car max price is lower than the West Chester Honda dealer price.

Saw the car i wanted at my local carmax on a Sunday (because who doesnt like to go to carmax on sundays?)...it wasnt priced yet, so, that gave me a day to come up with a number I wasnt going to pay. Carmax priced the car on Tuesday morning, I financed it online right then, a carmax woman called me and got my numbers and I picked up my love on Wednesday. Everything was flawless.

I bought the car on sep. 6th 2021 its now Oct 21st. I was told Id receive a package in the mail to take to MVA to get hard tags. Also that Id receive a call before that to guide me on what papers Id be receiving. None of that has happened and my tags are set to expire. Ive probably called the dealer 50 times with No one ever picking up. Ive called corporate who told me they make sure someone would call me and that hasnt happened. So I guess the only option for me is to drive 3 hours to the dealership to hopefully get it resolved. Ill never buy from carmax again.

The process for selling my car was relatively easy but painfully slow! Once checked in, the person who helped me in the Business Office told me the whole process should take about an hour while in fact it took 2 hours even though the place was not that busy (I was there on a Tuesday afternoon). Its very annoying, and unprofessional, for someone to give a misleading time estimate just to retain your business. The people in the Business Office need to figure out how to speed things up and set realistic expectations for their customers.

The ease and convenience of buying car is at Carmax. Like any other used-car shopping experience, you just have to see what youre buying for yourself. We had a car brought over from another CM and it just wasnt what I wanted. Even though we had a preliminary credit app done, changing the app to our nearly brand-new 2020 was a breeze. The staff at the KofP facility is just top notch and would highly recommend them to anyone. Ask for Jayme when doing your financials.

More recently, we went in to sell my old car, and the process was very streamlined and easy.I filled out a form online to give information about my car and received a quote I could bring in to evaluate. It was fairly busy there, and we didnt have an appointment, but it didnt take too long for someone to go take a look at my car, drive it around, and then handle the paperwork to transfer the title and give me a check.The process was really painless, and Cynthia, the lady who helped us out with the paperwork, was very friendly and helpful!

The carmax experience was absolutely the WORST. Do not go to them!! They ran my credit 12 times. Not because I don’t have excellent credit but because they had to keep starting the process over because their salespeople were incompetent!!! If I could give it no stars I would.

I went to Carmax to sell a car. The online process was super-easy. Set aside about an hour to get the whole process done once you get there. The staff was friendly, and the whole experience was trouble-free.

I purchased a sienna on 7/30 (process took 5 HOURS) I already had finance secured before walking in but them figuring out their paperwork took them so long. My husband and I had were offered $100 for dinner just send them receipt and they would give us the money. Emailed Luke Heckel that night with the receipt as per our conversation. Never got a reply nor money. 8/16 I email him again and call the store asking approximate time for my paperwork to arrive so I could get my car registered in my state, MD. Never got an answer from him and the business center told me oh we are still working on the packet.9/17 I call again asking for my packet and told it was FedExd to me. 9/23 call again to ask if my tracking number shows if it was lost or not. Turns out my packet still hadnt left so NOW it would be FedEx to me. Today I finally get my packet and instead of the check for registration being made out to us, it is made out to MD MVA which wouldnt have been bad if my tags didnt expire on the 27th! MVA requires an appointment and the next available is after my tags expire. CarMax is incapable of cutting a new check if I return that one to get it with our name so we can go to an express tag and title store. I was told it would take too long but they could get me a rental car. That is inexcusable for it to take 2 months to get a person their title to get it registered. Per their own contract, 30 days to get vehicle registered in your state. Never had a problem with CarMax location in White Marsh, MD and highly regret not paying the transfer fee to just get my car from that location instead where I can buy and leave w tags on the car that day and in half the time.

From beginning to end starting with looking at cars that I was interested in on the website to the test drive to the financing process to finalizing the process and going into the celebration area which I thought was very very nice very nice touch my car was placed with a bow on it and a picture was taken and I just love the experience. And if youre interested in getting a car from CarMax youll enjoy the experience too from beginning to end.

I bought a vehicle from this location June 2020 and I actually felt the price and condition of the vehicle was amazing!!! However 13 months and 10 visits for front end issues with my vehicle later I found out my frame is bent oh and to make matters worse my check engine light is on and I just found out it was on last year and Carmax “fixed” the problem. To say I am upset is an understatement I am completely disheartened not cool at all I felt like I was patronizing a good honest car dealership boy was I wrong. Now my sister bought a car from the same place in June 2021 and she’s currently having issues that 10 point inspection is a complete and utter fabrication.

This was my fourth car I have purchased at CarMax. Their prices are fair and I like no-haggle. Their cars are in good shape and they do a nice job detailing them before you pick it up. The sales process is efficient and hassle-free. Besides their extended warranty, there is no hard-sell on last minute items. Their stores are clean and bright and the staff is professional. CarMax seems to hire good people and treat them well - so they in turn treat customers well.

Blown away when they bought my used car... KBB offered $8800 and I got calls from several dealers right away. But I also made an online appointment for selling to CarMax and was surprised by a much higher offer. When they reviewed my car, they found an issue where the odometer had been registered with 30k more than what was currently in the car, and they offered $10k. After 30 min, they returned and noted that because it was a tire service, and not an inspection/registration reading, that they could likely prove it was from human error and not an odometer rollback (which it was since the car only had 38k miles on it) and raised their offer to $12k. This was honesty and transparency! So glad I went there and the entire process was less than 90 min.

My fiancé, Melissa, and I bought a 2014 Chevy Spark from this dealership about a month ago. Although the employees were all very kind and helpful, it didn’t change the fact that the process took an entire day with tons of waiting around… when we finally got to drive off in the actual car the gas tank was empty, there was a crack in the windscreen, and most importantly we ultimately found out from the Chevy dealership a few weeks later that the cars suspension was completely blown out and required new front struts and rear shocks, plus there is a hole in the exhaust flex pipe AND the coolant bottle was cracked and leaking. We didn’t get the extended warranty from CarMax so the $2k+ service came out of our pockets. DO NOT trust this dealership to sell you a car that’s in any kind of driveable or safe condition. We won’t buy from CarMax ever again.

I must admit, it was a different experience. I loved being able to choose a car, test drive it, kick the tires (not really), and look under the hood without a lot of haggling. No haggle pricing has its advantages and the power of no means just that. Super experience.

Super smooth process. They gave me double what our new car dealer was offering for trade in on our 2011 car. Highly satisfied.

Worse car buying experience ever. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. They have the worse customer service after you purchase your vehicle. I’m in the process of returning a vehicle and going somewhere else to buy. They tried to strong arm me into doing their in-house financing which I did not want just to switch my car. Long story short run from this place fast. They only see their customers as a paycheck. No real customer service.

People were nice and kept me up to date on the appraisal and final offer. Took a little longer than expected but overall a good experience.

My credit score is in the high 500’s and Dave and Julian made my experience of financing a car very easy. Dave was very patient and went above and beyond to get my car transferred and here safely and at a timely manner. Dave gave me options, listened, gave suggestions, and we worked together to find a car that I wanted based on my preferences. Julian was very kind and made me want to come visit or recommend them to others. I wasn’t in for no more than about a hour in a half. Usually when financing I’m at a dealership for more than 3 hours getting everything together. Thank you!!

I was looking for a late model Mercedes GLC 300 with several specific safety features. In order to get what we wanted, I was able to do a nationwide search and find exactly what I was looking for clear across the country. We had it shipped from Connecticut to to King of Prussia where we had planned a month-long vacation with our son’s family. He owns an AMG car with similar features so that gave us a tutor for 30 days before shipping the car to the West Coast. It also gave us time to see a couple maintenance items CarMax covered in their 90-day warranty. No other used car dealer would have been able to do all this for us. We couldn’t be more pleased.

It was a smooth process from start to finish. They gave an estimate of about 1 hour when coming there to sell your vehicle and I was probably done in 45-50 min with the check in my hand.

The process was pretty seemless. The process at the store was about 2 hours, but that was because everyone had the same idea I did. Carmax stood by their offer. Great experience.

Did an online offer and received and estimate cash offer. Went to Carmax and they gave me the offer without any issues. Easiest car dealer experience I’ve ever had.
