A very well organized store with new and slightly used baby clothes, toys, gear and maternity clothes for moms too. Everything is clean and in working order which takes the guesswork out of buying used. Looking forward to bringing items in to sell once baby is a little older!

First time here and it was just the place we needed to go to find a few things we’ve been wanting and needing for our new born son. The people who work there are very helpful and knowledgeable which was a breath of fresh air. We will definitely be coming back!

So glad we came to The Baby Exchange, we’ve been looking for a baby hiking backpack and I called this morning and Bella put the only hiking backpack they had available for us on hold. We came to the store and was surprised how big it was. The store is very orderly and you could find almost anything from clothes, to toys, to all kinds of gear including our hiking backpack that was perfect for us. We would definitely come back to find more gently used items for more than half the retail price.

Best deals and quality second hand clothing! I always score when I come here. I definitely recommend coming here to purchase or resell items you don’t need! The employees are helpful as well.

Nice shop, sad this location is closing at the end of the month because I live so close! Have shopped here several times. Friendly and helpful staff. They have new stuff and mostly gently used items but some items are pretty used but still decent quality for resale. Will continue to shop at their El Cajon location after this one is closed.

Such an adorable boutique spot without being overpriced! Great setup and easy to navigate. Easily find amazing used or new items every day as the inventory is always changing.

Awesome place. Been coming here since my daughter was 3 months old. Helps a lot especually when your a single mom. Sucks were leaving, but I hope they have similar stores in other countries. Saved me a lot of money!!

Great selection, really. Theres a very good mixture of new and gently used clothes for every age group, very easily sorted by size and gender. They also sell larger items and the prices are extremely competitive. MY new go-to for kids clothes.

This store is amazing! I sell here quite often and the staff is wonderful! I usually always take the store credit since its more than the cash amount offered and I can use it at borh locations! I have 4 kids and i find super cute clothes in all their sizes. I find its best to check their Instagram account almost daily to get the best finds and I just call and pay over the phone then pick up when I get off work :)

I was weary about selling here because of other reviews but i was pleased with the amount I was paid which was more than I was offered at other resale stores. Maybe people have an unrealistic expectation for selling. The staff was very helpful and friendly and their selection is great!

Great photo room. The backdrop was cute and they had lots of great props. Plus you can use anything on the floor. We always find an outfit to buy.

I came in and exchanged some clothes which they offered me $25 store credit (NOT cash). I said that was fine because I wanted to buy their bassinet in the window. She then told me I was not allowed to use my store credit for the bassinet, only clothes?!I ended up going to the other baby resale place and they had a much nicer wooden bassinet for only $40 and gave me cash for my clothes.I would not recommend this place to anyone, they seem to make thier own rules as they go.

This store is not quite a as big as their El Cajon location but equally as great! I will be shopping at both locations from now on! Checkout their Instagram page, you can get the best finds if you follow them and you can shop over the phone too!

Baby Exchange has two stores, one in El Cajon & 1 in La Mesa. Great mix of gently used toys, gear and clothes. There is also a large selection of brand new nursery furniture and super cute hip/trendy baby accessories for boys and girls! I havent seen accessories like these available any where else in San Diego and they are very affordable! Headbands/turbans, bibdannas, leather moccasins, adorable knee high animal baby socks, tutus, baby bow ties, suspenders, fedoras, amber teething necklaces and so much more! The employees are sweethearts! The stores are also large, clean and have a boutique-like atmosphere!

Came to this store for the first time today, I was not disappointed at all great staff super frendly and attentive they have a great inventory in store. I will be coming back again.

I hardly ever review but have chosen to because this place is horrible! The staff member I delt with was completely rude and disrespectful. I went to the Lake Murray location two weeks ago to bring some items. The woman was helping another customer at the time so I politely said I’d wait. She continued to talk to me explaining she was too busy to help and for me to wait. The woman she was helping told me she was also extremely rude to her as well. I decided to leave and bring my things to a different consignment.Flash forward to yesterday, I was looking for a Finding Nemo door jumper, they had one advertised on Offer Up. The add clearly stated it was located at their Chula Vista location. It was $20 and I’ve been searching for one for weeks so I drove over to pick it up. The Chula Vista location said the Lake Murray location had it. They called and the woman verified that they did and would hold it, I was hesitant because of my prior experience but I went anyway. When I arrived the woman (same as before) was condescending and rude. She kept telling me it wasn’t a door jumper but that they had an activity walker that was Finding Nemo. I told her never mind and tried to leave she followed me out trying to show me the walker(which was a baby Einstein brand not Finding Nemo)! I will never return to this store the customer service is atrocious!!

I almost never review but I just had my 2nd bad experience so had to share... I have a 7 month old and am currently pregnant. I was at the El Cajon location and purchased a bike trailer for 2 kids. When my husband went to install it, we then realized it was missing the piece that goes from the trailer to the bike. Ummm... kind of critical. Looked online and that piece costs as much as i paid for the whole trailer to get separately. Was pretty ticked but by then, it had been a week and i didnt have the receipt anymore so im just stuck with this stupid trailer.Today, I spent half the day trying to load my electric swing in the car. I wanted to exchange it for a breastmilk kit i really need. I finally get the thing in my car and call them to find out they wont buy anything after 4pm. Its now 430pm. So i call the other location and she says if i can get down there by 530, shed take a look at it. So i load the baby up and go down there. Apparently the rules at this location are different because she told me to bring the item inside. I said that i had to park really far, Im currently pregnant, and I have my infant here with me. She says shes alone and cant leave. Im like, ok is there maybe a cart i coild borrow then? She give me one and i maneuver it out of the store, walk it to the other end of the shopping plaza, unload the swing in pieces, wipe it off real quick, and then drag it back to the store with my baby in carseat in other hand.When i get to the store, she was not with a customer but didnt offer to help me get it through the door. I literally had to set my baby down as a doorstop. Finally almost to the register and she sees me struggling and comes to help. I am literally sweating and nasious at this point but whatever, the dumb thing is finally inside. She plugs it in, sees that the mobile piece wobbles, and says she will pass. Im like, let me try to tighten it up. My husband can do this but he wont get here before you close. (The way I had to put it in the car apparently moved this plastic coupling .) I dont know how to fix it so shes like, ya well pass. Im thinking, you can sell me an incomplete piece of equipment but wont take a wobbly mobile on a swing? But Im like, ok... Ill drag it outside and wait for my husband to come help. She said shed bring it outside so I let her. I left the item up front and went to get my car. I double parked, had my baby in the car, and began disassembling the item to pit it back in my car. She saw me do this and then watched me take the pieces one by one to my car, never offering to assist or anything.So Ive been there 3 times and 2 were very bad experiences. I definitely would not recommend. Also, i just found the breast storage kit online cheaper than they are selling it for anyway.

Very over priced. I found similar swings at the other trade places for $10-15 cheaper and in newer condition. A lot of their swings, bouncies and bassinets seemed very dirty.
