I just had the most wonderful experience here at Stanton Optical with the help of my optometrist I was able to pick out a fabulous pair of glasses and was able to save a lot of money. Alyse was so great helping me get the best deal for my budget. Everyone I spoke to are so very friendly. Alex really welcomed me in with a warm smile and helped answer my questions. I recommend coming here. The only thing I was confused about was the $59.95 gets you 2 pairs of glasses and the eye exam. I fell in love with a $49 pair and I had picked out a cheap other nice one. I guess I didnt understand that there was a second option and it was to buy a pair and get 60% off the the frames and lenses at regular price totalling $155 and I didnt want to spend more money but Alyse spoke to the manager and worked it all out with me still getting my second pair since I had already paid. Over all a little misunderstanding but Im 😊 happy. So thanks team at Stanton!

When i got my glasses here the appointment was fast in and out. Then when i came back to pick them up I felt ignored. It took to long and was upset. Now i brought my daughter in and its taking even longer. We had an appointment over an hour ago. When hasnt been seen. Three patients came in at the same time only one has been seen the other girl and my daughter are still sitting here. There are two exam rooms and no one is getting seen. They just came in to talk to the other girl. Idk what they said but she just walked out. We still havent been seen.I guess i need to know what fast actually means.

My experience was very professional and the main technician definitely helps you out in every aspect from information to discounts. The office and everything was very clean. They were understaffed for the day and were still quick and able to help everyone come in, in a timely manner. I’m very pleased with the service I received from the staff at Stanton Optical in Grossmont. I bought 2 pairs of glasses, had transition lenses, non scratch coating & designer frames for both & they really exceeded my expectations…the price for all was better than I expected & I go to get adjustments & it’s free. I went today (07/19/21) to get an adjustment & was given a new complimentary frame since they didn’t have my original frames in stock & it only took 10 minutes to change them out.

Exceptional service!! Accidentally stepped on my glasses that I purchased from this location a year ago. I took them in to see if there was any possibility of repair. After looking at the damage, the manager, Alex (if I remember correctly), replaced them with an identical frame, free of charge. This store has great service and affordable prices. My frames were warped and twisted from an unsuccessful adjustment at a place I wont name. He fully realigned both the front and sides so that they fit ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! In this modern world where service is a quaint and faded memory, Haykel at Stanton La Mesa stepped right up as soon as I walked through the door. I explained that I could not make new lenses for my wifes sunglasses fit in the frames. Me and my husband went today for an exam and glasses. We saved so much money for 4 pairs of glasses. The staff was great and the exam/ checkout process was easy. They give you the space and time to pick out glasses and they are great for checking up on you during the process. We can’t wait for our glasses to come in :)
Booked an appointment and cancelled the next day. They won’t give you any information over the phone, they say they except most insurance but won’t let you know if they take your insurance over the phone. Which makes no sense that they don’t know which insurance they take or what they don’t. I obviously didn’t wanna drive there in 90 degree weather just to find out it was a no and get scammed into paying out of pocket. I called 7 times and 4 out of 3 employees were very friendly but still didn’t answer my questions, the other 3 were very rude and quick to hang up. Figured I’d just call wallmart optometrist and they were able to give me a quick yes or no for my insurance. It seems they REALLY want you to pay out of pocket.

I am writing about my experience at the Stanton Optical in the Grossmont La Mesa location.I was using an old broken pair of eye glasses that I would crazy glue ever day so they wont fall apart on me.My eye glass frame were on its last leg, they fell apart. Due to my economical situation and started working again. I had no choice, I needed to buy new frames!So I called Stanton Optical to find out if they still carry my old frames that would fit my lenses. I spoke to Alex, and he gave me the good news!They have the frames in stock! And he mentioned he can give me 50 percent off!So on Saturday, January 30, I experienced the very best customer service of all time!After talking to Alex, I explained my financial situation and the whole crazy glue ordeal with my frames.I was so impressed! Alex is a remarkable good kind hearted employee,Alex decided not to charge me for the frames! I was taking back with so much emotions that started crying. Im grateful for his generosity and his help.They have a customer for life!!!

I had the greatest experience with the wonderful workers at The Grossmont location. From the time I arrived I was very impressed by how attentive everyone was. I tried on so many frames and never felt rushed. I really liked saving money too and got two pairs for the price I paid for one last time at another optical store. I was really eager to visit this eyeglass store in La Mesa because of the big sign that advertises affordable glasses. I called ahead to get my insurance vetted and called my insurance to inquire about my eligibility. When I called Stanton, they said my exam and glasses were covered but when I arrived, the doctor told me there was a $45 copay, then a 65$ copay, then finally a $25 copay. She did not run my insurance, nor do they care what plan you have--they are really just concerned about getting you processed and to deceive you into paying the fee which they promise to give back in store credit. Do not come here if you want a transparent transaction. Youve been warned!

I had a 10:30 appointment and I was finished and back in my car before 11:30. I had my eyes check and got the 2 pairs of glasses for $59. Alex D was full of info and helpful with questions I had. I will be back. I had to take a star away. I was never contacted when my glasses were finished and the phone number provided on the paperwork is invalid and should be removed. When I picked my glasses up they seemed to be short staffed and they have two doors that people can enter so if you were suppose to be next as you were the first person in line, you could get skipped as I did. Get a number ticket system.
I was in need of some frames, when I called a couple locations to make sure they had them in stock. Nicholas from the Chula Vista location made the process so much harder than it needed to be. However the dude at the La Mesa location, although its further out, made sure they had them. He even put them aside for me making sure I would get what I needed. The process was so much easier, and smoother even swapped out my lenses to the new frames. I was in and out within 15 minutes. Great service sorry I didnt get their names (Girl with the pink hair, Dude with the one eye not trying to be mean)
I went to stanton optical and it was the best optical experience that I had in a long time. Alex Dopp was the person who helped me, and they were incredible, every test was done quickly, and effectively. They were friendly and eased my anxiety, Id honestly come back just for them.An undiagnosed astigmatism made all my previous glasses a little blurry. But for the first time I have glasses that let me see clearly.
I purchased 3 Pair of glasses in past, and I went back for another purchase, but my experience at this time was unpleasant and awful. I walked into the store and one of the worker start helping me, but he started helping another customers came after me, and he ignored me totally. I walked out with disappointment. And will never go back again. I dont recommended this place at all, they dont value a customer!!

I loved the transparency with the prices and the frames were reasonably priced compared to other optical shops I visited before. There are styles for everyone and a large selection of frame designs. Re; Alex DoppI purchased 3 frames and 2 pair of glasses back in January took 5 to 6 months to receive them and a huge problem with Hillary the then mngr. Customer service was something that she deliberately avoided and left a huge bad taste in my mouth, so to speak! So I have decided I could definitely replace my lenses in one pair of my glasses with the warranty I have but going back into Stanton optical does not appeal to me in the least although this needs to be done! I was more than pleased not to run into Hillary again! Instead I was greeted by Alex who was compassionate about my plight ! She was the epitome of customer service and extremely helpful! By the time I left there I was expressing my thanks for her and the fact that she knows her job and greatful for her customer service in a day when it seems that is not even an option any more!! What’s the point of having a scheduled appointment only to sit there and wait for a whole hour and not being helped and walk-ins were helped before ? Only for the assistant to say that everything got pushed back. Why not call and let the patient know before then instead of having us sit here for almost 2 hours for a damn prescription?!

After choosing a heavy set of eye glass frames on my own which kept on falling down I decided to go back to Stanton Optical to see if they could help me find the right pair of glasses and surely Robert who is the manager of Stanton in La Mesa, Ca suggested that I choose a lighter frame and thinner glass, it was all I needed. Also I would like to thank Alex for making sure my pair of glasses stayed on my face, Thanks Alex who is the Optometrist, he also told me I could go back to get my glasses tightened when needed.

Second time here, love their customer service! After coming home after months away on military duties I found my frames were broken during my traveling, in no time Alex helped me to get my new frames ordered at no additional cost.
My first experience at Stanton Optical was great last year my daughter needed glasses right before school started and the manager made sure that I got her glasses within a few days it was awesome. This year on September 1st I went and get an eye exam and ordered two pair of glasses it took ***23 days*** for me to get my glasses this does not include fitting, I was very disappointed when I went to pick up my glasses she said only one pair were ready well when I received the email that my glasses were ready they did not specify that only one pair were ready so I had her send them to me when when they were complete and ready, this is so disappointing I will never be a customer at Stanton Optical again I will take my money and my customer service elsewhere they are very short-staffed and it was a very disappointing experience.

Made an appointment for 3:05, arrived 3:00. I checked in and was told I could take a look at frames while I waited to be called back. Next thing I was waiting when someone asked if I had been helped, I said I think but was not sure. Then a woman said I was waiting for an iPad which then another man told her there was one right next to her. A few minutes later I was given the iPad to fill out some questions and then I got an email saying my appointment time had been modified. Thinking it was a mistake I looked at the email and it said my appointment was changed to 4:15. I asked one of the technicians but she was unable to give me an adequate answer as to why my appointment was changed without my prior authorization. When I asked how long it would take she said maybe an hr tops but that she only does one part and the rest is up to the other technicians. I’m still waiting it’s now been 1 and half hrs since my appointment time. I wouldn’t suggest if you are trying to get in and out at a specific appointment time. But if you have all day with nothing to do... maybe the price was pretty good but I could have went to Walmart optical and got the exam for glasses included in the exam for contacts rather than paying for both exams separately.

I highly and strongly recommend instead of going to Stanton, which is highly publicized constantly on commercials, go to Walmart or other places that arent as publicized, you will probably save money, but best of all this place, not just the one in Grossmont, it is company policy that if they are to make a refund your Cash purchase, they will not make that refund back to you for 30 days. It doesnt matter if you special request it, doesnt matter if you offer to pay for you know faster mailing, whatever, I believe for the sake of them being allowed to use your money for for doing stock trading probably they keep your money for as long as they probably legally can and they do not refund you for 30 days, they had $322 of mine which they failed to make the proper prescription for I offered to let them keep the money just redo the prescription they refused they said they had to refund me the money first and then redo the the whole procedure, nonsense!!And the Now, I just get this BS response, that they are going to forward my issue to the Right department, to make sure it never happens again, Pure BS, FOLKS, You cant even Reach, Anyone in their Headquarters period, Ever, their Business model is a scam

Yesterday we went for an exam for my daughter to be fitted for contact lenses. Mark was super patient and helpful with her trying Im the contacts. He was knowledgeable and kind as this was her first time trying on contacts. Afterwards Hilary looked up what the most affordable options were and answered all of our questions, again knowledgeable and kind. We didnt purchase anything so I cant speak on products but the service was great!

I did some price comparisons before I decided to make an appointment with Stanton for contacts. Since I have astigmatism most places up-charge for that but when I was on the phone with one of their rep he assured me it was $89 regardless of my astigmatism or not so I was pretty ecstatic about that. Made my appointment for the next day.When I came in, Hillary was the first to greet me even though she was helping another customer, which I wouldve understood if she hadnt since she was already helping someone out. She got me checked in very quickly after and was very pleasant. John was also very helpful and extremely nice as well. He told me just the right information I needed so I didn’t have a lot of questions after and kept me informed of my prescription through out the entire process. After the eye exam, because their prices were pretty awesome I decided to grab a six month supply of contacts for 130, and a pair of glasses for around 15, since Hillary gave me an option of purchasing a pair of glasses with a promotion price with ordering the contacts as well. I went home with a pair of contacts on the spot since they had my prescription, and only spent 370. Which seems like a lot for even myself because this is my first time purchasing eye glasses and contacts for myself, but I got a pretty good deal compared to how much I would’ve spent with with my previous optometrist that my dad goes to (with much better customer service as well) and other optical stores. Plus my appointment was at 10, and I was out in 45-50 minutes, which I spent about 15-20 of that looking at frames for myself.Over all my first experience here was awesome. I did read the reviews from previous years before I even decided to come here when there were a lot of complaints but my experience has been nothing but very professional and pleasantly easy. I’m definitely coming back here from now on for any problems and optical needs I might have.

The doctor got my script wrong which I had my current script with me. They did not get my background which included 2 previous eye surgeries and double vision. They kept me there for 2 hours and didnt even complete my visit which should have included ordering of my contacts. They told me they would call me later to go over my insurance and order but never called. Next day I called 3 separate times and was unable to get someone to help with my order because the operator said they were busy. I was a brand new patient coming from another eye doctor because it seemed more convenient. Horrible experience. Tried to make a complaint and again no help. I wont be going back.

My glasses broke last night, I needed a pair asap! Came here because the have same day service. I didnt take into account covid-19 may have changed that, and it did. Its gonna take at least 2 weeks. I cant go 2 weeks without glasses. They gave me a pair of contacts, and fit my old lenses into a different pair of glasses so that I can see. Thank you Tony, and Martin for being so genuine and caring. I appreciate you guys so much!
Purchased a warranty for my glasses & was told by the guy it covers everything even if theyre lost he gave me a little booklet & wrote it down. Just called in to get my replacement because I lost my glasses & the last said we dont cover lost glasses, also youre out of warranty which I should not be & I was told they would be covered if lost or damaged. So that was a scam apparently. After you give them your money they become scumbags.
Is 1/2 star possible? I guess asking for an itemized receipt is like kryptonite for this business. I’ve called the store multiple times only to be transferred to a hypothetical customer service that never answers. If they have customer service personnel working from home maybe they need to evaluate how things are working. They can call me and I’ll give them the skinny. As I type I’m still on hold. This makes about 2.5 hours of miserable hold music since Friday. I won’t be using them again.
UPDATE: I just got my refund on the glasses and contacts and left the store. You will need all of your original receipts and packages must be unopened.I am extremely unsatisfied with my experience at Stanton optical. I got an exam for glasses and contacts. I knew the price of the exam for both would be higher. I was just planning on getting a six months supply of contacts and 1 pair of glasses.The associate Martin told me all glasses are buy 1 get 1 free.The selection of frames is little to be desired. Mostly very cheap looking, poor quality, no name brands. I picked out 2 frames. I was told my 6 month supply of contacts would be $56 a box. I was charged $113 for each box of contacts, and FULL price for the glasses!When I questioned the charges, he told me the prices must have updated but he could give me a coupon. I again questioned the bogo promotion and he said it was discounted. On my itemized bill it shows I was charged FULL price for the frames and lenses. That is not 1 free. And double charged for the contacts. I dont like surprises. I recommend this establishment should be upfront on prices and additional charges. The buy 1 get 1 free is misleading.
