This is a nice place over in La Mesa. Its got a good variety so chances are youll find what youre looking for. The staff are by far the best! Everyone is knowledgeable, professional and helpful. Theyll give you the run down on anything youre looking for and suggestions based off their years of experience. Great guys and will be coming back again.

You can buy a gun anywhere but customer service you cant. This is my go to place for everything. Bill has helped me multiple times and is my go to guy. I have talked to the other guys there as well and they all are great.

Outstanding gun store! Staff is extremely helpful. I have traded & purchased over 4 firearms the last three years. Each time has been a great experience. You may have to wait outside a few minutes to be let in. This is due to COVID. To bypass the wait simply make an appointment and the staff will be expecting you.

As I walked in today, I was told to make an appointment. They told me I wouldnt be able to make an appointment for 2 weeks. This place was as big as my bathroom. So yes, Ill be going to a better place next time. Costumer service was a joke. Before going here, try going to other places that would appreciate your business.

Everything about this shop is mediocre. Mediocre guns mediocre customer service and high prices. They’ll leave you locked outside in the baking sun then lock the door on your face before closing hours. If all you need is a gun and you don’t care about pricing or customer service, they’ll get the job done, but if you want a good experience and a helpful staff, this is not the gun shop for you. Trust me there hundreds of local gun shops in San Diego that will be much more appreciative of your business. Do yourself a favor and check out a few other shops before you go here.

The staff was very helpful and nice. They move in a timely manner and try to help you as quick as possible. I’m glad I came here for my first firearm purchase and I highly recommend coming here for your first as well. The staff makes everything seem simple.

Dan was very helpful to me. Yes prices have gone up, but so have his personal expenses. He always keeps his appointments and takes plenty of time to explain things to you. Every purchase is personal and informative. He has worked nights and weekends to accommodate the current state of affairs in order to help people and I appreciate his dedication and hard work.

Havent bought anything YET. But I stopped in yesterday to have a look at what was out in the sales area. Guys are very professional and courteous, knowledgeable about their firearms, and will definitely be getting my and my friends business.

The Staff at Fine Firearms are professional and knowledgeable. I am a firearms enthusiast, NRA instructor, and believe I have a reasonable perception of responsible firearms ownership. When I moved to the San Diego Area I visited a handful of gun shops and simply browsed the displays while I listened to the interaction of the Staff and consumers - I wanted to find a business that was professional and responsible - Fine fit the bill.Always respectful to their customers, none of the Rambo attitudes here. I have witnessed a customer getting a handgun safety briefing with his young son standing nearby, the FF employee made a point to talk to BOTH of them, in fact, when the Dad went through the load/unload process (with snap caps) the Son pointed out what he did wrong! The FF employee was genuinely working with this customer to assure safety and responsible ownership.Ive sent my wife in to pick up ammo, accessories, etc - they always work with her to be sure she gets the right thing, No condescending attitudes, no sexist attitudes.Another plus (for me) - none of the over the top political ranting going on here. If gun laws are brought up they are addressed factually and openly -Pricing is competitive, maybe a little more than the less professional shops but I know that I can trust these folks to stand behind their products. The couple of extra bucks are well worth it to be sure you are getting the best product for your use - be it optics, accessories, new or used firearms. They ask questions to help zero in on what will be the best value for you, not always the most expensive or most popular.You wont go wrong here.

Deserves five stars for customer service. I went in with a friend who had never even handled a firearm. The guy that helped us was very knowledgeable and helpful. He was very patient in answering her novice questions. He let her handle a few handguns so she could feel what it was like to hold one. He even suggested a couple of firing ranges that could give her safety and use training. They carry most brands available in California.

I stopped by here while traveling, just looking for a few specific handguns that they didnt have due to them not being CA compliant. The employee was extremely helpful and recommended some firearms that they did have in stock based on what I was looking for. He really knew his stuff and was willing to spend time helping me choose a gun even though there were other people in the store. Their number system really makes sense in a store set up the way this one is.

Cool place, lots of old and surplus rifles. New stock is pretty varied but prices seem a bit high on some items. Purchases are smooth and the staff are very helpful and respectful

Found this store over a year ago and I have steadily made more and more visits. They are friendly and willing to spend time with you. They are not the cheapest at all, but you get what you pay for in the way of availability and quality. I am willing to pay more to have a local gun store stay in business.

I like the selection of guns and I want to support a local shop. I called to check on a repair and the person was rude and unfriendly on the phone. When I arrived at the shop, the same person was again rude. Apparently they dont need my business enough to appreciate custom service.I have had good experiences in the shop with the younger employees and they seem knowledgeable however, not always the case with everyone. I believe the person with the poor customer service is a manager which makes it worse.Too bad, there are other gun shops and I will start going to another from now on...

Im a new reloader, and been to a few shops in the east San Diego area. This is my preferred place to shop or ask for any information. I was recommended to come here through a coworker and i am glad i stopped in the first time. Even though i have a few places closer to me i prefer to come here. Do yourself a favor and stop by.

I called ahead trying to get an estimate for a gun I wanted to sell, they asked for the model and told me Id have to bring it in so it could be appraised, understandable. I asked for a range, they said they wouldnt give me a price until they saw it. So I drive out with my firearm, they look it over, then tell me they have too many in stock and wont even give an offer. Thanks for telling me to drive out for an obvious waste of time.

As a precision shooter with a somewhat rare caliber (.300 WSM) and a finicky high strung rifle that wont shoot factory ammo well, I have become a needy customer. John and the crew got me off on the right foot for re-loading, got me into the very best gear for my challenge, even if they didnt carry it/stock it themselves. I would say that half the stuff on my to get list they didnt carry because literally nobody has these kinds of challenges. Other types that wouldnt have been as good were right on the shelf though. To me, that type of honest recommendation is absolutely priceless.The consistent, expert advice I get while Im there is literally unbeatable. Nobody knows more in the region about these competition shooting challenges, and across the board Ive gotten well researched and thoughtful responses to questions and challenges Ive presented.Ive been going here about five months, but Im a customer for life. Didnt want to fax over a doc saying that they are willing to receive my firearm and make safety modifications. My firearm is legal in rhode island but not cali. Dealer suggested that flying it in was easier. Lol what a joke

Its really hard to get brownings in SD unless you buy it from somewhere else and get it shipped in. So when I saw that Fine Firearms had a lot of brownings at the gun show, I went up and asked for a quote on a specific model. They told me that they couldnt do it on the spot because of the lack of internet and asked me to email them for a quote. I emailed them, giving them the exact model and specs and instead of getting a quote, they tell me to go find the browning model number for them since they were too lazy to do that themselves. I was pretty upset so when I decided to go in to the store myself. The guy that helped me was very nice, however, he said he wasnt able to help me either because it was a weekend or something and he couldnt get a quote for me. Instead he asked me to write down my email and would have the quote emailed to me right away on Monday. I waited for 3 days and still no response.. I called only to have the first guy I emailed complain to me that I didnt give him a model number. Seriously... Im trying to buy a $3000 gun from you the least you can do is look up the model number yourself given the model name and all the specs, if youre going to be lazy and unhelpful Ill just go find another way to get the gun. This was my third gun and never had I been so unhappy buying one. Never going here again.

I was at Fine Firearms over the past weekend. Looking at scopes with a friend. This was the first time I had gone to this store. Somehow, it had missed my radar. The FF rep - John - was knowledgeable and professional. He let us both handle, touch, play with any of the scopes we were interested in. (Many shops wont let you touch a scope unless you prove your a buyer.) He even went so far as to mount it on my friends rifle for him to see - before any commitment to buy was expressed.I also noticed that the rest of the staff was very nice to the various customers that came in. As most of you know, the main complaint people usually have with gun shops is the bad attitude of the employees and the belief that the customer is a pain in the ass and shouldnt bother them. NOT HERE. Never felt that way or got that impression.I did notice the earlier complaint of a person bitching about the prices. I have shopped on line and at virtually every gun store in San Diego and surrounding areas. I did not find the prices at FF to be outrageous or out of line. In fact I would say they were competitive with most other RETAIL gun shops. The reviewer that wrote he could buy on Amazon for less and as such gave a 1 star is just a fool. Everyone knows that you can buy on line for cheaper prices normally. But do you get what you ordered, do you have to wait, what about shipping etc. Stores are business. Real building, real employees and real inventory. Most Amazon sites are not. No store, No employees and no inventory. (i.e. most is drop shipped.) Of course there will be a price difference. Thus, I would recommend viewers to ignore that review. Useless.Over all this is a great shop and one I will continue to shop at.And by the way, my friend did buy a scope and John mounted it and bore sited it on the spot. I also made a couple purchases that I am quite happy with.

Not impressed. Customer service has declined, prices have increased. I have always tried to buy local and support these guys but todays experience changed this. As military I am always humbled when a vendor offers a military discount, I am never too proud to accept it. Fine Firearms has always given me the military discount. Todays experience- when I decided to buy two boxes of Berger 185 bullets, which are $11.00 over priced per boxof 100 than I can get from Sinclair, I asked to receive the military discount. The kid ringing me up tells me we dont do that any more for reloading stuff because we are so low priced anyway. I didnt feel like hitting up the manager which would probably would have corrected the situation, but then again I should not have to. Don tell me your prices are so low when they are over 20% higher than I can purchase them online for and usually get free shipping! Todays experience lost FF a customer.

I live only a few blocks from here and I have now been here on 4 occasions for ammo to browse and look for my next purchase, well today was the last straw and the last time I will go to this place the staff and one guy in particular always have attitude and they tend to talk down to you, was looking at a gun today and it was stainless I asked if it came in blue steel and the guy said What you dont like shinny things Im a mexican so I;ll take it in the back and spray paint it for ya the guy was just a jerk, so Im done .
