Ohhh they have very nice halo halo. It was our accidental find. They have quite good selection of Asian groceries as well as they serve the food to eat there as well. We ordered just halo halo. It was nice with a lot of beans and jelly at the bottom. Next time we surely order lunch or dinner as well there!!!!

Born and raised in Manila, Luzon 🇵🇭... I know what good tasting Philippine cuisine should taste like.I ordered three different dishes tonight, I was disappointed with all of them. The pork lumpia(for appetizer) was ok... not much taste from the fillings, wrappers used were too thick also. For main dishes, I ordered both lechón kawali(deep fried pork belly) and chicken adobo. The lechón was overly cooked, so it was too crunchy all around and dry also. The chicken adobo was bland and watery. In photos, they dishes look delicious... were they? To me, no. Hindi masarap.2 stars for clean dining room and excellent customer service.

Tried this place for the first time and it is AMAZING! Pork belly like this is hard to find and it is the 2nd best Ive ever had. First place belongs to Tansuo but they no longer serve their pork belly dish. It was crispy and well flavored. I also got the sisig. OMG! It was the best thing Ive ever had! I also tried the flan. I am not a fan of flan at all but I wanted to give theirs a chance. I still dont like flan. Thats not anything negative about their flan. Im sure a flan lover would love it. I will definitely make this a regular spot!

What a great place! Bright clean open space with very kind, accommodating, and passionate owner. Chris is great and clearly has a passion for food and the Filipino culture. I will absolutely be back. The whole pompano fish was awesome! Shrimp were also great. Oh... pork belly... sooo good. Cant wait to come back and work my way through the menu. Thanks again!

Homemade Filipino Food at its best. Try some Lumpia, Adobo, Halo-Halo, Sigsig, Flan, and so much more. You can shop for Groceries to make your favorite dishes at home, order to-go, or stay and dine in. The atmosphere is welcoming and family-oriented. Theres plenty of parking in front.

We are on a short vacation here in Nashville and thought of trying some Filipino food. I searched and came across MaeMax. The pictures looked very promising and delicious. So even if it took us an hour drive to get there we still did.I ordered their sisig, lechon kawali, pansit with lumpia. It was all okay. Why I said it was just okay? It’s because the lechon kawali they served was full of fat, sisig was dry (not the sisig i expected that has liver and some pork ears and pork snout) lumpia had barely filling in it. How bout the pansit? Nothing special. Not a very good experience for me though. Was just disappointed. On the brighter side, I am not sure if it was the owner who served my orders but she was really nice and friendly.

Amazing food--I cannot convey through words just how delicious the food here is! We ordered the tocilog (pork tocino and rice, topped with a fried egg), inihaw na tiempo (grilled pork belly marinated in crushed garlic, vinegar, and salt & pepper), and lumpia (Filipino meat spring rolls), all of which we ate in the restaurant. The portions were very generous. We also bought a baskets worth of Filipino groceries to carry back with us, as well as two to-go orders of tocilog (please see pic).

Filipino food is love. A simple restaurant sharing space with a small grocery. The food hits all the right spot for comfy filipino food. Though they have a very limited menu, what they make is all you need really especially if you are looking for some good homecooked meal. If you go during the weekends, they even have a meat ‘n three type of buffet. I won’t need to recommend anything because everything is good.Definitely will be back…

The best thing about this place is the halo halo dessert drinks and the lumpia. The worst thing is the BBQ skewers because it taste like cleaning or pesticide products. I am very sensitive in terms of taste. My mom complained about the taste too. It taste chemically maybe because I am not use to Philippine food or their food got caught in airborne cleaning products during sanitation.

My dining companion is Filipino so we decided to quest out from the Nashville metro area and try Maemax Market, which is listed as an authentic Filipino eatery. I will say, having been to many across the country, it delivered. The food is divided between a cafeteria type format and items you can buy that are cooked to order. I bought both types - I tried the longginsia, beef steak, and pork asado. All three were solid, had a good amount of flavor, and were on par with other versions I have had. The staff was entirely Filipino and provided quick and friendly service. The restaurant itself is a combo restaurant and market. It was clean and I felt comfortable eating there. Slightly hard to find, tucked away in a small strip mall. Overall I was pretty happy with the food and plan to return to try some of the other dishes!

The staff was very friendly and adorable in helping me find what products they had available. I ordered take out (since im COVID times) and it was readily available before I was even done shopping. The store only had a few aisles but for what they couldnt provide today (sold out), he did give recommendations to try to help. Regardless, it felt cozy inside with the young kids running around and having fun.

There werent any Filipino restaurants or markets when we first moved here, and I missed being able to get home cooked Filipino food whenever I wanted. Heard about this place a few months ago and finally made it there.Immediately my new favorite local spot, complete with fresh lumpia & folks speaking Tagalog (I never learned but its basically a comfort language for me, having grown up with relatives speaking it). We also had pancit, chicken adobo, palabok, & of course riiiice! The food is spot on authentic. I almost cried.

I ate lunch here on Saturday with my son and my Filipina daughter-in-law. I had the combo with Chicken Adobo, Bistik, and rice. We 3 shared Veggie Lumpia and Banana Turon. It was all delicious and I enjoyed the clean, bright space where we were seated. I live way down in the southern part of Rutherford County, so I wont be able to get back here frequently, but it is certainly a place Id like to return to as often as possible.

I have been a fan of Filipino food after living there for a few years. Everywhere I travel one of the things I look for is a Filipino Restaurant where I am visiting. I found out that Maemax Market and Restaurant recently opened in La Vergne and I was like a kid on Christmas morning. My first (and not last) meal was Bistek, plain white rice, and Shanghai Lumpia…it was delicious. The Bistek that was well seasoned and the meat very tender…it went well with the sticky white rice. As for the Lumpia…those four pieces did not survive!!! Just a word of warning…go early…lunch early to get the full buffet available. But what was really nice, Malo told me if given a bit of notice she would fix something up for me. Just love the Filipino people and their friendliness!!!You get a lot of food for the price, excellent conversation from Chris and Malo who were wonderful hosts, and that satisfied feeling after a really good homemade meal. They have so many other items to try…I know I will be a frequent visitor!Masarap na pagkain!!!P.S. I know a half eaten plate is not pretty...but I had one taste and couldnt stop...LOL

Friendly staff to old customers but a bit stoic towards new customers.Honesty system as you declare what you ate when you check out did not work out well for the three of us that despite the cashiers curiosity as to how 3 people could have eaten so much food we ended up paying without question.Despite the good food it was hard to get rid of the bitter taste of being overcharged!
