Ive been taking my cars there for years and have never had to go back twice for the same repair. Excellent service. My only concern is that they have changed pricing models over the years. When I first started going there, labor was charged by the hour. They now use a flat rate book which provides a labor charge for a particular repair for an average mechanic. Ron is an expert mechanic. A repair that is listed at 2 hours will probably be completed by Ron in 1 hour however you get charged for 2. Now their labor charges are more in line with a new car dealer service dept. So if you willing to pay the higher labor, you cant go wrong going there. However, there are definitely less expensive mechanics who may be just as good.

Couldnt be happier with the service received from RAM Auto & Tire. We ordered new snow tires from tirerack and had them shipped to the garage and brought a set of our own rims to have mounted and balanced with the show tires. The experts at RAM handled everything seamlessly and even used black wheel weights to match our black rims. The tire install took about 20 minutes and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

Laurie and Ron at Ram Automotive are simply put, the best!!!!Honest, friendly and always have your best interests at heart. Not that I enjoy car repairs or maintenance but its comforting to know that when I do, I can trust Laurie and Ron.

We have taken our cars/SUVs to R.A.M. many times over the years we have lived out in Algonquin. They are a small business that deliver BIG time service. They are professional, honest, and the prices for their services are very good. I always recommend them to people I meet if they are looking for a great place to service the needs of their automobile.

RUN- do not walk- away from RAM Auto Repair. My vehicle was towed to their complex. I waited for a week to have them schedule my 1976 GMC Palm Beach for repairs. Finally, the day arrived and I called them. They hadnt even started on my vehicle. That afternoon, I drove two hours round-trip to discuss the repairs. Tuesday morning, I get a nasty email saying they werent going to do the job and were leaving my vehicle behind their shop WITH THE KEYS IN IT. So much for caring about you or your vehicle... They were upset that I had brought the parts required for the job. Anyone who has an old car knows how difficult it is to find parts- even more so for an old RV. Plus, I didnt want it sitting there for forever while they scrambled to find them. This is most likely because they wanted to charge more than the parts actually cost. If you want to have prices jacked up and be treated like crud, by all means take your vehicle here. They did me a favor in the end though, the next shop is charging me half as much to do the same work.

Just had one of my cars serviced there again and Ron and Laurie did a great job, as usual. I have 8 vehicles and RAM has serviced all of them save my Harley and my airplane and I would probably let Ron work on them too! It pains me to see reviews like the one from ms. who is clearly a RETARD and her childish rants should be dismissed out-of-hand. These are great people -- something that is hard to find in the auto maintenance industry.

They are flexible, honest, and very thorough. My last automotive repair shop neglected to check the air filter for a long time...something I assumed they were doing with the regular check-ups. RAM caught the dirty air filter and my car gets better gas mileage again!

Im a former ASE certified mechanic that moved into an engineering occupation. Having first-hand knowledge of the potential ugly side of the auto-repair world, I looked long and hard for a quality shop in the Lake in the Hills/Crystal Lake/Algonquin area to do the work that Im either unable or unwilling to do in my own garage.The couple that runs RAM Auto are cool cats. She knows her stuff as a service writer, and hes a good and honest mechanic. I trust him.....and thats not easy for me.I refer a lot of local people to this shop as a result. Ill keep coming back to this shop until one or the other of us are laid to rest.

Ron and Laurie helped us AGAIN and saved us a lot of money while performing superb work. Cant say enough about these guys--They are great people and you simply cant do any better.

Ron and Laurie are the best, have taken my two old Suburbans (both 200Kmi+) to them over the years to keep them on the road, and the work is always top notch at a fair price. In fact, I have another of my vehicles I will be getting in there within the next couple of weeks for some brakes and other misc work.
