Yesterday, I stopped in purchased a 3 inch thick New York strip steak. My wife did the grilling, and I have to confess that it turned out to be the best steak Ive had this year. The quality far exceeded anything that we previously purchased at any big supermarket. Get you steaks here, and quit eating meat that tastes like cardboard.

Went in this past Sunday to grab deli meat and cheese, the turkey we got we threw it away that same day. As well as the provolone smells awful idk if they haven’t cleaned the slicer or what. By far the worse deli I’ve ever purchased. I’m from the area and heard alot of good things prior and that was my first experience won’t see me back there

The service here is second to none. I placed an email order after business hours to be received the next day. The requested pickup time I asked for was for 11:00 am (an hour after opening). I got an email response that due to high demand they could complete the order but it would not be ready until 2:00 and asked if that would be fine. Due to a tight schedule I had that wouldn’t work so I replied back that I’d need to cancel the order and place another one a different day. Within minutes of sending the reply I got a call telling me they can put a rush on my order so it would be ready at my initially requested time. That kind of customer service can be hard to find these days.Butcher On The Block goes above and beyond to satisfy AND their selection of meats/sausages cannot be beat. I highly recommend giving them a shot...you will not be disappointed.

Always a cheerful staff that gets you what you need. Premium quality stuff. I shop there 1-2 times a month and am never disappointed. Best little known secrets are the major steaks. Great for kabobs, pepper steak, or just straight up grilled. The Amish chickens are fantastic, always cook up on my grill tender and juicy. I was impressed with their tomahawk, and we grill their pub burgers and brats often. If you want a butcher shop that knows meat, this is your meca.

I have a few medical issues that make wearing a mask very difficult for me and I have breathing difficulties even without a mask.That being said, I thoroughly appreciate and I am extremely great full Butcher On The Block offers curbside pickup. You have made my life so much easier and you truly do not know how happy this makes me. Because curbside pickup is just about everywhere is great and I can still get everything I need done. I still choose to wear my mask even in my car for pickups. It’s just a short period of time to protect ALL involved and it’s not going to kill me to do it.For the person who says “The mask underneath my nose, only prevents me from inhaling any virus particles, doesnt save someone else”You are incorrect; The primary purpose of a mask is to prevent your respiratory droplets from traveling to other people. Those droplets come from your nose and mouth so your mask should cover both of these areas and the perimeter of the mask should maintain tight contact with your face.BOTB please continue doing everything you are doing. I love the quality of everything you sell. As well as the friendliness of every single person I have come in contact with over the years. THANK YOU😊

Well orginized from fresh cuts to deli with carryout sandwhich, corner displays of all the fixings especially the Idaho potato bin. There is a craft beer shelves and competitive display of wine. Staff was especially helpful for questions from those who have the name of a cut, menu or just in this time try something beyound beef patty. Health safety feature in place complement existing over all quality. Second visit and found this is no one trick pony or flying pig

The staff at Butcher on the Block has been doing a great job following guidelines necessary to keep everything running smoothly and safely through the entire pandemic. I understand they offer curbside pick up for those who cannot be in the store or choose not to be. It’s not convenient to shop anywhere with these masks on our faces but they do try to be as helpful as possible, being sure to keep the pace graciously moving through swiftly. I’d rather buy our meat here than any corporate grocery store where good customer service is scarce.

The BEST butcher in the suburbs! Quality is always top-notch, and their expertise is unmatched when it comes to specialty cuts of meat. We ordered sirloins via curbside pickup, and recieved major steaks instead. When we called to let them know of the mix up, the staff put us on the call with the head butcher who explained how to prepare and cook the cut of meat, and encouraged us to give it a try. If we didnt like it, theyd make it right. It turned out to be the best mix-up since that cut of beef was superb. The staff stands by their product and by and large that is the most important reason why we love them!

My first time there I got to meet the owner. What a great guy running a incredible business. He helped me with all of my steak selection and help guide me to getting the right spices and rubs. This will be the only place I get my steak from and other meat. I recommend this place to anyone who wants good meat.

While they enjoy my husband and 1 cheekily talking each other into a meat purchase they always provide great products and always a friendly face even behind a mask. Any one who knows this place knows they are the best. The review below is disgustng. How dare you Paul Brown? This family owned business has done everything right during the pandemic whether sanitizing techniques, social distancing and capacity limits and beyond. When no one could get toilet paper or cleaning supplies or eggs they brought it in from their food service provider and did not price gouge. When grocery stores had almost 0 beef. They had it. They did it for the community as they have for over 20 years. Paul Brown wearing your mask like that is like wearing your underwear below your junk. Does absolutely no good. If you cant wear it correctly so it is effective than do not go into a store. SIMPLE. They are better off than ever without a customer like you.

Not only do they have great food, but their service has gone beyond what is expected during this pandemic. They have made getting our order super easy with multiple options depending on our comfort level. Our entire family loves the different meat options and the quality of the food. We’ve ordered Prime Rib several times and each time it’s been an excellent cut of meat. Their customer service has been great in terms of both preparing the meat and answering any questions we had. We are long time customers who love absolutely everything about this establishment. From the amazing staff to the wonderful owners to the AMAZING food, absolutely everything is perfection! I love Butcher on the Block! I recently started shopping there in the past year and I fell in love! They are helpful and knowledgeable and everything I’ve purchased from them has been quality. Crab dip is absolutely delicious; Ive never had anything like it! Extremely high quality meats and the prices are comparable to other stores. Only concern was the bone in chicken breast. It may have been too close to the seafood section so it tasted a bit fishy when cooked. However, none of this would stop me from shopping here. Support local businesses! These guys rock! I wish I could have given Butcher on the Block 5 stars. The butcher side of the shop is friendly, courteous, always having deals, very attentive, and has a wide selection of top cuts of meat. The middle of the store contains grocery items that are perfect to pair with anything you find at the butcher section, from fine wines and beers to cured meats and cheeses, the store provides everything you need to entertain for a party (or just enjoy yourself by cooking up a nice dinner). The other half of the store contains the deli section with a fine assortment of deli meats and cheeses (including high quality Boars Head). It is this side that I find myself in most often because on top of being able to buy deli meats, cheeses and breads for take home use, they sell soups and sandwiches. These sandwiches are some of the best I have encountered in my life. The sad part is, while I often get good service, the last time I was in the store I did not. The woman behind the counter seemed angered that I was there with my girlfriend to order, she took our first sandwich order and then left, and when she took our final sandwich order (it was only 2 sandwiches) she marked down and gave us the wrong one. I had ordered a Cuban and was given a Reuben instead, in addition, I had asked for no swiss on half and was given a sandwich completely void of swiss cheese. Our sandwiches were also cold instead of hot on top of this. I love the store and hope to come back and receive better service next time. But unfortunately I could not give them 5 stars because of this, and it truly saddens me to end this review by rating them 4 out of 5. I will still return, but I will do so with some caution.

Always has great food and the staff is very courteous. Been coming here for years and when the pandemic hit, all the safety protocols were in place and that makes me feel very safe going inside even during the pandemic. Wonderful service and even better food! We purchased some brats from the, recently and they were amazing! The Philly cheesesteak one is probably our favorite but they are all pretty awesome. Can’t wait to go back!

Outstanding quality! The selection of brats/sausages is outstanding. Now they have added the ability to dry age their cuts as well. Try the bacon, youll never buy pre-packaged bacon again. If you want something that they dont sell, ask for it and most likely they will get it for you. A while back, I wanted some crabs and crawfish for a party. I asked Tom and 3 days later, I had my order filled. I get all my meat from here. Awesome employees to boot.

I love this shop! Fresh and tasty meat products PLUS I am so grateful that they care about their customers. Their drive up service has been a godsend to our family which has health issues. I’m a new customer of Butcher on the Block. Every time I’ve gone in the staff has always been super polite and helpful! The quality of their products is fantastic, and it is the only place I’ll go to purchase meat. I will be a customer for years to come!

It took me 16 years to find Butcher on the Block! After moving to IL and finding the usual grocery stores horribly lacking, I went on a hunt for a butcher. Tried them all. My test purchase was always a pot roast. All were lacking in flavor. Then someone told me about BOTB. Gold star rating for the pot roast! Eureka! I found the mother lode!! Have purchased filet, flank steak (prime when on special-what a DEAL!!), brisket, sirloin steak (again, often on special for PRIME!!), picanha, chuck roast (prime, no less! and on special!!), ground sirloin, baby back ribs (OMG), pork tenderloin. Seriously folks....where else can you occasionally find PRIME meats on special? Heck, where can you find prime meat anywhere these days? But all meat Ive tried has been incredibly flavorful, tender and a delight to cook and eat.Thank you, BOTB, for providing such incredible meats of such high quality and decent pricing...a special thanks for the periodic sale on prime!! LOL

I discovered Butcher on the Block during the pandemic when I heard about their curbside pick up option. What a blessing! Ordering was super easy and pick up was efficient. It’s a bit of a drive for me, but the quality of their meats just can’t be beat. I ended up buying a second freezer so I could take advantage of their sales. My favorites so far, are the Brisket Short Rib Burgers, Italian Meatballs and believe it or not, Chicken Breasts. I’m super picky about chicken and the quality has been excellent, regardless of cooking method. I know BotB had to jump through some incredible hoops to operate during the peak of covid, and I, for one, truly appreciate all they did to keep customer and employee safety top of mind. Can’t wait to try some new items as soon as we can start up the grill again!

I love butcher on the block go there every week friendly good food. meat is priceier than you find in the grocery store but so much better than anything you would find there and not that much more expensive. So if you want quality friendliness good service its the place to go.

Top quality meat we are really spoiled. In addition all employees are always so kind and helpful. A real plus for us is the COVID-19 protocols that are followed in the store. We learned about this amazing butcher just a short 2yrs ago! I never expected what I walked into!! First off, let me say how FRESH it smells! Everyone is so helpful too! We come in for their outstanding brats all the time! The filets... OMG mouth watering!!!Even during this pandemic they have been amazing! I’ve witnessed a customer being asked to pull their mask up over their nose and I was AMAZED!!! I wish all stores did this! I personally refuse to walk by or be around someone whom I don’t know with their mask being worn properly! So I am a customer for life! I won’t even walk into the grocery stores any longer and do curbside pick-up now specifically because people are not wearing masks properly! If someone has health issues/concerns and are unable to wear a mask properly then they should figure out alternative options to shop. Working in healthcare I know a lot more than I want and see a lot more than I would rather not. Kudos to y’all for helping keep us all safe and following protocols!!!!
