I was visiting Lake Jackson and decided to find a quilt store to visit while we were in the area. I ended up at Calico Cats. Despite being initially confused/put off by the fact that there isnt any handle on the outside of the door to allow you to enter the store, once I figured out how to get in and had an opportunity to meet the owners and chat with them for a bit, I had a great experience and walked out with some beautiful fabric. While they may not have as many bolts of fabric as other quilt stores, it was definitely worth a visit and I wouldnt hesitate to go back again. Very sweet owners, get to know them if youre local to the Lake Jackson area.

The owners and staff are friendly, encouraging, and helpful. There is a nice selection of material and sewing machines for clothing, embroidery, quilting, and related gifts/crafts. A nice variety of sewing classes for quilting, machine embroidery, sewing crafts to name a few. Service for sewing machines is also available. Classes have been offered either during the week or on weekends. A great way to learn and have fun.

Get store!

They have a reputation of not treating the customers with no respect. They make you feel like your not wanted are you don’t have enough money. Unless your buying one of their sewing machine then it’s a whole new story. My sister true story went there to ask questions about her Viking they asked where she bought it. She told them they told her “ well it wasn’t too much trouble to drive there and buy it. It shouldn’t be to much trouble to drive it back!!!!
