I dont generally review potential competitors shops unless its all positive, so as not to be accused of inappropriate bias. The owner/operator of this shop is exceptionally knowledgeable within his niche, friendly and capable. Like me, he sticks to the best instruments and models. His knowledge of Japanese-made guitars is impressive and can prove helpful both in getting you a good deal on a guitar that would have cost a lot more under a different label. I can say that his reputation is strong, and that also says a lot about how he treats his customers. That only happens when the shop owner insists on treating the customers better than he might treat himself. Are the prices the rock bottom best? No, and they shouldnt be. If you want the cheapest, you can find that -- and be prepared to pay for that in other ways -- starting with lower quality you may not even be aware of, through to knowledgeable advice and service. Saving 10% and getting what you paid for? Stick with the small capable knowledgeable shops. Serves you best in the long run.

Wonderful, knowledgeable and friendly owner. Casey provided me an appraisal on a vintage Fender Telecaster and a vintage Martin which was in need of some repair. I found him to be honest and timely with the appraisal and repair. My daughter and I enjoyed sharing family memories with Casey who appreciated the history of these instruments. If only they they could talk!! Thank you Casey, you’re the best.

I want to thank Vintagemusicals for a super job in not only evaluating my guitars, but giving me an idea on how much they might get and what I could expect. Surprise, surprise Casey called me the next day and I was paid in cash Wow a two day turn around! I’m totally happy and satisfied! Thank you!

August 18 2021On August 14th Stephen Bradford purchased a Martin CPCPA5K acoustic-electric guitar 2014-2015 Kia w/ original hard case from Vintagemusicals.com. With the help of Casey Kairi from Lake Oswego, Oregon made the purchase smooth and comfortable and followed the tracking to the delivery 8-18-2021. I went from buyer beware to seeing a beautiful martin guitar in 4 days, Great job Casey for your attention to details.

Awesome “small business” vibe that actually cares about the customer. As a guitar lover/collector I have dealt with a ton of businesses, big and small, over the last 30+ years. I can’t say enough about how much Casey and his team care about making sure you, the customer, are taken care of and happy. Spend your money smart and deal with a company like Vintage Musicals, you will not be disappointed like you would with the “big box” stores like G.C........

The entire process with vintage musicals/Casey was phenomenal, it exceeded all my expectations. From our first conversation till the final payment and the delivery of the guitar everything went as planned and all expectations were met. Casey and I will be making arrangements to make further purchases from here on out. Not 5 stars but 10!!!

My response to the EDITED version of the Owners response:Its true. I was sacked from Guitar Center Beaverton. At the time, the newer manager there and the new repair tech did not like me and found the first reason they could to let me go. But I can confidently say that many of my former customers and co-workers from that location (circa late 2013 to mid 2017) would speak highly of my work as the guitar Repair Tech and they would stand for my character as a decent human being (But a loner - hit me up if any of you are reading this!). You see, Ive nothing to hide nor will I. I am not normally one to write reviews - let alone follow up on them - but you have slighted my integrity and I have the facts on my side and evidence to prove it.IF I had I been given the option to take it home for testing then OF COURSE I would have taken it home to test it, found the issues that could not have been so clearly diagnosed in-store, and returned it as soon as possible! But you, Casey Kaisi (or the business we), insisted on having me unwrap it to test it, then proceeded to intensely suggest a factory reset when it didnt work. I work in electronics and honestly should have known better, but I was too excited for the pedal to think clearly. The factory reset was a band-aid for a larger issue that you clearly knew existed but refused to acknowledge. I then spent some time looking into the pedal, but certainly not an hour. Especially given that you were a pushy salesman when all I wanted to do was look around the store real quick before looking at the item that I specifically contacted you about. But youre right: It is nice to be truthful. And the great thing about all this technology we carry around is that the truth is much easier to prove these days. As such, I have attached screenshots of our initial conversation (in which you didnt know the price of your listed product, specifically requested cash payment - a huge red flag that I ignored, stated that you were open until 10pm due to reorganizing, and that I could take my time). Also attached is proof from my Google Timeline (with sections redacted for my privacy) that I was in your store from approximately 9:20-10:01PM and home by 10:13PM. Oh, and a back-up of your response as it currently exists just in case you decide to edit it after I update this review. Unfortunately I dont have a copy of your initial, milder response.Call me a hypocrite? Thats rich... Oh wait, no - You are: From ripping people off.Take note: I made the mistake of dealing with this guy and it has cost me hundreds of dollars, days of time, and a mountain of stress. YMMV. I will continue the struggle to get the display working again on my otherwise functioning BOSS RC-300. If you think you can help in any way, please contact me!My original review:Sold me an effects pedal that exhibited some issues, but a factory reset while in-store seemed to resolve them. After getting the pedal home, the issues came back. Casey is refusing to acknowledge the issues were present upon initial inspection and will not accept a return, despite the policy stated on the website:If you claim your purchase of instrument or any device does not work when in fact works and was tested and you still want to return it, we are happy to return it minus shipping fees, boxing/packaging/insurance reverb fees and 15% restocking fees that we determine, remember PayPal fees are non-refundable, we get charged.if we are at no fault, you return your item back to us and we give you a full refund once you return the item in question minus seller fees, boxing/packaging fees insurance fees shipping fees and 15% restocking fees.I would have paid the 15% fee, but he completely refused and stated that online and in-store purchases have different policies. He is a pushy salesman who took my money knowing that the item was flawed. Also, when I mentioned that I was looking for guitar amp that would also accept a mic he kept recommending amps without an XLR input, so I feel I can say that he is a shyster and a charlatan. Do not recommend.

I was looking for a mint condition nylon string guitar. I play a Martin HD-28 and wanted one that would feel close to my steel string. Was fortunate to find Vintage Musicals. Casey was extremely helpful and listened not only to what I was looking for but also the type of music I was playing and where. The Taylor was the perfect solution and was priced right. It came within a week and he packaged it better than I’ve ever seen. Can’t wait to play it in church this weekend! Thx so much. Couldn’t be happier.

There are many obstacles and uncertainties when purchasing a musical instrument online.A week ago I purchased a guitar from Casey at Vintagemusicals. I was immediately drawn to the instrument from the nicely presented photographs and thorough description. I decided to purchase the guitar. The guitar arrived professionally boxed. The guitar was accurately described. No exaggerations or misrepresentations. It was just as Casey described. Vintagemusicals is a class act.-JOEY

I bought a Walden acoustic guitar from Casey several weeks ago. I must say it was a thoroughly positive experience. Casey explained the space that Walden fills as a lesser-known but very high quality instrument which is under-valued in the market. He helped me get it set up properly and the guitar has the tone of a much more expensive instrument (I also have a Martin and this guitar has a richer sound). I will definitely be dealing with Vintage Musicals for any of my future musical needs.

AWESOME guitar shop! They are extremely polite, humble, and eager to help working musicians. In an era dominated by Amazon and big box stores, it’s an absolute pleasure to be able to see how incredible smaller shops treat their customers and go above and beyond in so many ways. Thank you vintagemusicals! A+++
