This store is always clean and UNCLUTTERED. I hadnt shopped here in a few years because of the employees, they looked like their store...poor and dirty. In the past week I walked in and was shocked! The store was so clean and neat. I had access to all the merchandise. Oh, yeah. The employees were nice and neat and werent so eager to go outside and smoke cigarettes. So I went again a few days later...same vibe and no one outside smoking...BIG PLUS! there. My new local shopping center. Goodbye Dollar General

Left stuff by cashier. 10 mins of 2 workers talking with customer pulling stuff outta box. Come on people. Got other stuff to do then her yak yak

Always have my stuff I need in stock and very very nice staff would recommend Family Dollar in Lake Station over Dollar General in Lake Station very well organized as well

Im always very impressed with Family Dollar! They usually have everything I go in there for. The prices are great!! The service is excellent, they always help you, if your looking for a item. Im very happy with the Lake Station Family Dollar.

Always have cute stuff

Very rude people in there they dont want to help people when they are asking for help and then on top of it theyre going to accuse somebody of stealing something when nobodys told anything she checked the bags and everything so she went ahead and accuse somebody of doing it and it turned out that it wasnt true you needs to be fired and trust me I will get her fired

Not that I loved it but its an easy stop by the house for your everyday needs. You dont have to drive far to go to this big store just to grab some toothpaste for instance. Its a nice stop and shop real quick. 😊

The girls that were there were super nice & helpful. It was a late night stop cuz I forgot something yesterday @ the store & it was important & dollar General was closed. So glad family dollar was open cuz I didnt wanna go all the way yo Wal-Mart.

The Lake Station store could be a little cleaner, but plenty of selection, staff is nice and they have items I cant get anywhere else.

The manager at store #01600 is very rude and distasteful. If i could rate this’s 0 for your manager actions today I would.I Can’t believe they would hire someone who talks to their customer so nasty over the phone and in person treats them like trash. All because I called and asked if I could return something that I opened and my great grandmother and I didnt like the way the product taste?? My grandma lives in a nursing home and she loves chocolate covered nuts,she can’t go to the store and get things herself anymore, so I thought i’ll try a different product and see if she like them. If i could I would have return them to the store closer by my house but since the product was open I had to go back to this location. I was very nice to her on the phone and also in the store, but she had to degrade me and say “if their brought with food stamps card I’m not returning them and if half the bag is gone she not returned them either . When i had already told her on the phone I ate a couple, I have a receipt and I used a debit card. When I got here, I did notice a signs that said if product is open can be exchanged for same item etc. Which is fine and that is all this manager had to say instead of being very rude and nasty to me. She throws my receipt at the counter and tells me to sign like I’m some damn idiot she also was so rude to her cashier. But you know what All i did was smile and told her to have a better day. I don’t know what your going through Miss Manager but I hope you take account for your actions today. If you don’t like your job then just QUIT . I’m sure you wouldn’t want anyone treating a family memeber or say it was your grandmother like how you treated me today. Poor young lady thats the cashier I truly feel for you to work with someone in “management “ that is so incompetent. Needless to say I went somewhere else and got my grandmother the chocolate covered nuts that she likes!

Dyna or however you spell her name is the rudest person Ive ever encountered. She does not belong in a customer based job and should definitely not be employed. I will no longer shop at family dollar as long as she is employed there. I called her out on being rude to an elderly man in the store and she refused me service and kicked me out of the store.
