We are frequent visitors to Goodwill in Lakeway both donating and sometimes looking for things to buy. I have found them to be very efficient. Recently I was returning something and the person there, Maria (sorry no last name) was training another person to do the return. I was impressed by her patience and good customer service. A few days later she was working at the donations intake area when I was dropping off some donations. Again, she was super cheerful and very positive and professional. I hope this person is continued to be given opportunities for advancement because she is a great reflection of the organization and probably a reason this location is one of our favorite places to donate and visit.
Plenty of great supply at reasonable prices! Very organized, and there are big sales from Sunday to Thursday. Rows are narrow so unfortunately when it gets busy, you can find yourself pressed body-to-body with others (COVID concern), and there was not any hand sanitizer that I could find around. Also, the entire store smells strongly of detergent or fragrance, so beware if you are sensitive to that. However, this location has some great finds that are defects or outlet items, and I’m sure you’ll find something you love.
Such great items and do not forget senior citizens over 55 get 30% off every Tuesday plus they have their weekly specials!
First the people are great but the prices are too high. Some of the prices especially on Knick knacks are the price of new items. Sometimes the new item price is on there and their price is the same or maybe a dollar less. Blankets, knickknacks, you name it, it’s all way too high priced. When I mentioned it to a manager a while back they responded by saying we price for the community were in. How does it help the people that are not rich in this community?
Didnt buy anything to over priced in sporting goods! Over 75 %
Wouldn’t recommend bringing kids here. Within a minute of being in the store a worker told my child to stop touching a non-breakable object. A few minutes later another worker asked me to put masks on my 1 & 3 year olds. Obviously they have a right to make these requests, but being corrected at every turn makes for a less than enjoyable shopping experience. Just not the place for us.
Friendly and helpful staff! Excellent variety too
Just ok. One woman who was wearing sunglasses was VERY friendly! In fact, all the employees were really friendly! The shelves/racks were a little bare but that happens sometimes
This store used to have gently used items but now only has junk. Over priced junk.
Sort of a long wait, but attendent was very good...
Mom and I found some good items there, but the staff was nonengaging, the native Lakewayan shoppers were rude. One bright perk was a lady who was VERY nice. She loved my kilt. Turns out she was from England, not Lakeway. Lakeway does not seem as friendly as Spicewood. We ended up going to the Goodwill in Marble Falls instead which was so much nicer.
Lots of cool things!
Best Goodwill Ive been to in Central Texas!
The most expensive goodwill in the Austin area. I visit Goodwill’s regularly and this one is close to me so I visit a lot. The prices have sky rocketed over the last few months. There has been a $50 old chair about to fall apart with cobwebs sitting there for weeks now. I just don’t understand how they price things that high. It’s Goodwill not a department store! None of the other locations price this high. Please re-evaluate how you price it’s crazy for used stuff! The staff is friendly so that’s why I gave them a better rating.
8 Bougt a Name brand shirt for pennies on the Dollar. I also bought a very Informative Book. 🥳🥳
I always find interesting items at extremely reasonable prices every time I shop here. Good quality and clean.
We resell donated items to fund our education, job training, and job placement services in the community. 89 cents for every dollar we make in our stores goes directly to those programsIf your prices were cheaper youd have more word of mouth advertising. Which means more traffic; which means more sales; which means more .89 per every dollar multiplying to go to the programs, instead of having inventory sitting around and going to the clearance center. You dont want to have the reputation of being too highly priced. Cher said it in her song called Baby Dont Go....I never had no money; I shopped at the second hand store. Get away from wishful thinking pricing and get it out the door. Flip it, turn it, but dont marry it. (It=your freely given inventory)
Great Selection of Women Clothing. Prices are fair. They reorganized and everything is more coordinated. Sections are broken down by type and then size. The people working there are kind and helpful. The day after Halloween, I needed a last-minute mustache, and I called, and they said they had one. When I got there, we could not find it and 3 employees helped locate it for me. I will keep going back.
It didnt have 1/2 the items as in Cedar Park store
A very good location with a lot of rotating stock nearly every day. The friendly people working here help to keep this Goodwill one of the best in town.
I love the upscale selection here! I always score beautiful dress shirts for my husband at a fraction of the price. The staff is always friendly and the store is always organized. Occasionally there will be a line at the registers but it goes pretty fast.I only pop in here once or twice a year, but every time, its a jackpot for mens dress shirts. The prices are a little high for a thrift store, considering everything is given to them for free.
The store needs some help to organize it. In this neighborhood, the racks should be color-coordinated, better staging, and there should be better care to the racks and displays. The manager of the store ( north Austin along I-35) has the best organized, color coordinated store and should be the model for otherooked managers. The Lakeway Goodwill would see increased sales with the new organization! Presently, there is no care in displaying the mdse. Messy; ill-kept store as are many other in the Austin area. I’ve moved here from another area of the US where they take greater pride in their stores and mdse-‘.
They have pretty good stuff there
I went up to the cashier who was wearing his facemask incorrectly saying I had two questions: I was trying to confirm that even the the fitting rooms are closed, is it still only store credit refunded for unwanted items and he told me to read the sign that the fitting rooms are closed which I already acknowledged. I also tried asking if they do discounts for shopping on your birthday and he said no. I showed him on my phone where it says Goodwill does. He then asked for my phone so we could ask someone in the back. I told him I wasnt comfortable with him holding my phone and asking him to call to use the phone by the register to call for someone. He still wouldnt. He told me he needed my phone to ask his manager and I said if he changed his gloves, then I would let him..then he said he did want to be respon for my phone. I dont know what the heck is wrong with him, but he needs some serious training in active listening and how to use the phone by the register. I just wasted 45 minutes on my birthday and walked away with nothing because he was being so difficult!
Great Goodwill. I was worried it might be too small like the one we have at Bee Caves and 71, but we got the kids shoes we were looking for, PLUS kids boots, moms skirt, and dads shorts that were opportunistic wins. Not as cheap as some other thift stores, but the cashier explained to me that they fund skills training programs for people including low/no cost GED, medical tech support and plumbing, among others, so thats where the moneys going.
Their items of decorations, furniture, lamps and paintings are definitely worth checking because the price is fair and the options are good.Although, for clothing, bags and shoes prices are just crazy! Too EXPENSIVE! Honestly, could find cool new clothes for cheaper in other stores. Also, brand doesnt matter when youre selling a normal, white, and very used t shirt for almost 10 dollars just because its from a known store. If its old and used, it shouldnt be that expensive.Location of the store its good though.
Just keeping it real here but their prices are OUTRAGEOUS! I dont know if its the area so they just figure folks have it but this is USED stuff, yall. An UNMATCHED coffee cup was $2.00! A shirt, of no particular designer, was $7.99!! The staff was extraordinarily pleasant and helpful but those PRICES!! First and last visit here for me.
Prices are okay... they dont have as specials like other locations... No 99 cent days just half off days... staff has been friendly and store is kept up well. I can never get out of there feeling like I truly got a bargain though like other stores.
I love the Lakeway Goodwill location!
Theres a nice staff at Goodwill who will help with anything you may be looking for in a thrift store. Theres a large amount of used clothing sold at cheap prices and in good condition. Great place to shop!
We generally go to Goodwill for the house-goods, so I cannot speak for the clothing or other items. This store in particular, usually has a good pick of items to choose from. Happy to stop in once every few months or so, just to see what they have.
Clean, Orderly & Service with a smile!
Selection of products and price are great. Waiting an hour while one person checks out 50 people needs to change. Pull someone off the floor to wait on customers please.
Good stuff today, went here first to see what I could get to set up a new rental home. Saved hundreds and helped others in the process. Friendly helpful workers too!
Good prices, nice stuff
Wasnt my best Goodwill experience. Not much to choose from. The bathroom was a bit dirty as well. I found a small candle holder and went to check out. The 3 ladies there were lounging behind the counter and 1 was sitting with her back to me on the ledge of the counter. When she realized I was ready to check out she sighed heavily and groaned, rolled her eyes. Then slowly slid off the counter edge and didnt even address me. Started speaking to the other employee in Spanish and never once spoke to me, except to tell me the price. Other than poor customer service... all in all, I guess its Goodwill?
Its operated more like a for profit business than a charity org. Im appalled by the very high prices on products they get for free. They hold an in-store auction on items and I thought you had to have a license or permit to do that. Makes me wonder if Goodwill is really good.
Overpriced and profit driven. Employees make minimum wage while corporate executives garner outrageous salaries and million dollar bonus. All from donations given in the name of charitable good faith.
Just went to drop off donations. Donation line was packed, but employees were working hard!
Workers are nice, prices are very high. Not your usual goodwill. I would say for a true thifter go elsewhere.
I visit all the Goodwillsv around Austin and this one is by far the best one in my humble opinion. Lots of higher quality stuff, wide isles.
Clean store. Employees are always friendly. Prices are a little high for the used goods they are selling.
Perfect arangement. Good work ladiesFrom10-8 sales
Not a good size baby toddler child selection. Did find a few good adult item finds. Staff seemed nice.
Great store in Lakeway
Was a terrific experience all the way up to when baby girl wanted 2 toys and wouldnt settle... in the end good will did their part.
They round robin their inventory with other Good Will stores in the area, but before they do, the stuff you find in this place is just fantastic. One of the best thrift stores in all of Austin.
I was interviewed for job
Great place, good deals, nice service.
Bought a used 9 ft. Christmas Tree. Very happy with purchase & service at the store.
I expected better quality stuff because of its location, but its a decent location even if its not what I expected. Pretty standard GW
They have lots of clothes. The store was very clean, and they have a courteous and friendly cashier!
I like how the store is set up, very different than most other Goodwill stores. Staff is very courteous. Store very clean and orginized.
EXPENSIVE! $6.99 for used shirts!!!!! The goodwills in San Antonio are $4.29 $24.99 for banged up Nikes! Again, standard shoes in SA are $6.99. SERIOUSLY!?!? If you are a regular shopper here a trip to SA will save you big. Heck, go to Burlington or Ross.
4 tops and a pair of shorts for $20 on top of a painless shopping experience.
Found an interesting comic there and its a first print awesome
I SO loved working here. I wish they would hire me back but I live in Kenedy, TX now and was hoping I could work at the Beeville store near me. Maybe someone who I worked with could help me out. It would b Extremely helpful. Thank yall!!!!
This goodwill has a good variety household items, the prices are very reasonable.
Very friendly staff, lots of great items including brand new Halloween items at a fraction of the price.
Im here right now and feekbthe need to post how rude the register lady is there. Ive only done this with one other place due to leaving shaking appalled by my experience there. If you dont like your job lady, go find another one, but I did not deserve the eye rolling, huffing and puffing I got at the register. I waited patiently for 5 mins and a kind man let he know someone was waiting and I heard her say I know and that was rude right there. One lady had already waited in line with me and left the line. Will not be back due to this. Incident occurred at 11:45 Thursday the 19th.
We absolutely love the Lakeway Goodwill. Always find something great!
Eh not alot of selection here. Not very nice things either, traffic is a nightmare to get here. Expensive for ugly selection.
This place is small and waaaaay over priced. Donated books are 4 dollars for a hard back! Also, there is a very strong detergent odor in the shop that makes me sick to my stomach!
Not a lot of good options compared to other locations in the area. Their drop-off is easy and convenient and the staff is nice, but the selection in the store is either picked over or non-existent.
Some of their clothes are priced much higher. Still cheaper than retail, but if you dont want to spend 25 for a pair of pre-worn jeans, just check tags. Hate the fact that in Austin they do not have bags, but it is not all their fault as it is a stupid city ordinance.
Prices are super high comparing to other goodwills
Smell gave me a headach
Very disappointedStore was a mess and the floor was dirty (not a rainy day). Items on every shelf were broken. And it smelled like sour mop.
Went for wine glasses. They were asking between 1.99 and 2.99 ea. Walmart has a box of 4 for 9.99.
Great finds clean store even has auctions for amazing donations
The highest class goodwill in austin. Maybe its the neighborhood idk but its got the nicest stuff by far.
Stuff is in a good shape, my daughter got a nice big mirror
This is a pretty small location, so not a lot of variety.
Got just what I needed( shoes) and something I wanted. An early Christmas gift for myself
It has good quality items at a cheap right price
My favorite spot... Dont like recent changes in price increases since store setup changes.
Its nice but little to much for my ck book.i like to buy more.
Great store! Huge selection of books.
Good merchandise .Needs more cashers
Good deals. Good variety
It was very clean inside. It smelled great!!
A few nice finds for today!
I came all the way from roundrock and brought my family with me I looked up the store schedule online before coming to the store All the employees are outside waiting for there boss to open its 8:40 am and weve been here since 8am and no management on sight employees waiting for there boss no customer respect or a phone call to co workers its a shame .
Nice selection of normal and WATER supply for the lake
I typically always have a good experience at this goodwill but this last time an employee was bothering me In regards to the dressing Room I know youre only supposed to take in 5 items at a time I had six but they acted like I shot their dog being very redundant Its only goodwill not like its Saks 5th Avenue
Slow and pricey they can do better than that
Cant keep employees, because of the management and has one register open and takes forever to check out. Place is a mess!
Always good deals, nice staff
Friendly and nice people and place
Goodwill has gotten ridiculous with their pricing. Seriously, if youre going to resell for more than the Target price, at least remove Targets sticker.
Great finds, helpful, happy staff!
I work there
Hard to find consumer assistance. Store was clean
Overpriced and unfriendly staff.
Long line at Check out only one cashier
Always find a bargain!
Too expensive, one very rude woman always there.
GREAT PLACE TO GO!!!
