Though weve begun having difficulties finding our gluten free, fat free, and coffee substitutes here, the staff is always friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Im very glad this easy-to-locate store is here, or wed end up shopping in Cheyenne or Ft. Collins. Great place to find new foods and other products to try, as well!

There are few places in the world like Big Hollow. The selection and bulk buying opportunities that are here is unreal! I love the milk they get and love their half sandwich and fruit lunch deal. Such a special little place.

ONE OF LARAMIES PRECIOUS GEMS: Big Hollow Food Co-Op! Their new store, located at 112 South 2nd Ave, is accessible from front or rear (facing a handy parking lot). The store itself is the same only better; expanded selection in a fresh, new environment. The Co-Op’s emphasis remains organic and locally grown foods including excellent meat, eggs, cheeses, deli items and —seasonally— produce. It is easy to zip up and down the aisles to find my favorite good foods-- from bulk items such as coffees, grains, dried fruit, and nuts to herbs and spices, honey and nut butters. They also have lots of packaged foods, familiar healthy food brands. The produce and the dairy items are fabulous. I also like the enviro-friendly cleaning and paper products and the pet supplies. I would love to see the co-op offer some wall space as an art gallery for area artists; that would add another dimension to this fun co-op.

They have the best milk Ive ever had (root beer float milk). They also have a very nice selection of high quality meats and produce. Their dry goods are very expensive but high quality. It seems like all the dry goods were gluten free too.

This is a great little Co-op grocery store. Their bulk dispensing is awesome. And they keep the place very clean.

Wonderful local grocery with a wide variety of unique items that are difficult to find elsewhere. Specifically, their selection of bulk spices is excellent and the prices are unbeatable. I love shopping here when I can afford it. The staff are helpful and welcoming and I always enjoy my visits.

I love the Co-Op. They have good, wholesome food at a fair price that is locally sourced as much as possible. The meat is all organically grass fed and locally produced, and all of it is so flavorful. I like the fact that we can get spices and other foods in bulk, and they can be purchased in the quantities that we use them. It prevents a lot of waste. All of the employees are so friendly and helpful. They are truly good neighbors.

So many healthy delicious food products,ie- HOME-made jams, Night Heron sour dough bread from an old starter. Many choices from gluten free products. Brands of food you dont find elsewhere in town.

I love shopping at Big Hollow Coop. I often order this amazing ancient wheat flour (einkorn) by the case, which gives me a great discount. I get my milk for yogurt making here, its the best price for organic milk in town. I also love getting bulk spices and grains. Im so excited about the new store soon to break ground...

I was so excited to find this little store. Great health food grocery store. Only people in a 80 mile radius from where I live that carries my favorite brand of tea.

Big Hollow Food Co-Op is a friendly and spacious grocery store. The staff have a very friendly and helpful attitude. Im happy that businesses like this exist, its a credit to local farms and customers alike.

Its great to have such an accessible, fairly comprehensive food co-op in Laramie. Its located in historic downtown, and contributes to a vibrant and revitalized area. Big Hollow seems connected to the community, and helps to serve as an anchor to support healthier options than might otherwise be available.

Good variety, produce and nice employees

Recently moved from FL to WY - and was in the market for an organic all around grocery store. What I love about Big Hollow is that they use their space efficiently, not only do they have every product I could need. But they organize their store in a way thats not overwhelming, like so many other chains tend to do. Love the quality, the prices, and the people.

What a wonderful place! I came through while traveling and could only get what I could keep in my cooler. Great selection of all kinds of meats, and in a fun area to walk around.

Fresh food, clean food, and friendly staff. Cant wait for their new location! They do have some grab and go options for lunch including sushi. Also fresh produce, and a frozen foods section. Definitely worth the stop.

Great selection of bulk foods, spices and herbs, as well as well stocked groceries, but there is not a large variety of fruit. I do most of my regular shopping here and it satisfies about 80% of what I am looking for. Great option for quick take away sandwiches or other quick lunches as well.

What would Laramie do without Big Hollow?Not only is it the only health food store in town (and for at least another 50 miles outside town), but it has excellent prices considering, and carries some really special items that weve yet to see elsewhere – like Vintage Traditions line of grass-fed tallow-based body products, for example. They also carry some of our personal less-known favourites like Bees Wrap and Four Nuts By Natures soap nuts, which were always happy to see.Theyve got a very full, well-rounded bulk section (including vanilla extract and maple syrup), a rotating selection of kombuchas on tap for so cheap its absurd (and its sold by the pound! – they welcome bringing in your own jar, and that way you save plastic and cup cost) as well as a really well-curated bit of sustainable household & cleaning supplies.The produce section is admittedly a little lackluster, at least comparatively, but does cover most of the bases. Laramie and its surroundings arent exactly lush and easily farmable, so we understand the options being limited. The pricing and quality of what they do have though more than makes up for any deficiencies.Our only real disappointment was in the meat selection. Other than in jerky form, none of it was pastured or grass-fed, and seemed to be of relatively low quality as far as animal diet and welfare are concerned. If the meat were fresh, we could understand wanting to only stock nearby producers to cut down on waste, and travel time and cost, but its all frozen. These days, if youre already willing to sacrifice freshness, its too easy to find at least high-quality beef and buffalo.Big Hollow may not be perfect, but its a pleasant little place that isnt likely to leave you in want of much. Its easy-going, small town charm, combined with its well-stocked interior could very well make you wish you lived in Laramie just to have this as your local grocery.

Really nice selection and great that you can buy in bulk without all the packaging to cut down on waste. Only downside is it is really, really expensive and therefore isnt accessible to most people

I was traveling through Laramie on my vacation and the maid at the hotel threw away my bottle of Dr. Bronners magic soap. I googled health food stores, called one of them and told him what I was looking for. He suggested the hippy grocery store on 2nd. It was a very hot day so I brought my little dog into the store. No dogs allowed! bellowed the clerk. That was fine. I needed one thing, I could put the dog in the car, run in, grab my soap and run out. I get my soap, go to the one open register,and waited behind a lady purchasing several items. Just as the cashier was ringing her out, the clerk who had yelled at me opened the other register. I handed him my card, tapped on the counter, and he gives me a dirty look and says Are you in a hurry? I tell him that yes, my dog is in a hot car. He makes another face at me and takes his time running my card. He apologizes about the dog thing, but it sounds sarcastic, like he thought I was trying to guilt trip him or something. I understand that health food coops are usually a little slower paced than your horrible corperate big box stores, and hes probably used to chewing the fat with his customers, but I was in a hurry, I told him I was in a hurry and why, and he went slow anyway and was frankly kind of a dick to me.
