Recently came in and got my entire tint removed and reinstalled with higher quality tint. They took the time to take it off and do the job right and remove all the adhesive from the prior tint. It took a while because it was so bad but they assured me it would be done right. Car now looks fantastic and they offered to work with me on the price and offered something no one else was able to beat. Very happy. Will be back. Best place in Lawrence for what you need. Ive included pics of before and after of the terrible rear window. Now looks spotless.

I was very pleased with the service at Car Toyz. They did a great job with installation and explained everything very well. In fact, they exceeded my expectations in terms of service and I set a pretty high bar.I dont have a nice car, but they never made me feel like I was less important because I drive a basic car and wasnt spending a ton.The selection of products is wide enough to fit a variety of budgets, but everything is of good quality even at the lower end. I will be a return customer for sure.

They were friendly, helpful, and the only place that was able to get me in for a remote start in December. I just wanted to warn everyone that not a single employee here wears a mask, not even when interacting with customers and they dont require customers to wear masks either which was extremely disappointing.

If your young or a college student seriously bring a elder like your Dad or GPA with you! If your young and not a expert on Audio they will mark up the product atleast 500% as they make up prices on the spot from person to person. 2 people can buy the same thing and receive a different price I’m not joking.I needed a small 1 piece harness that plugged into back of radio that connects to car. Online order start at most places for 3-6 dollars for this 1 piece with next day delivery. They seriously tried charging me $25 then popped at attitude when I asked him to double check it as I was interrupting Bro Time watching TV and looking at their phone. I will never come back.......

I was looking to get a new radio and speakers for my car. I know the basics regarding car electronics but wanted some professional advice and install.And let me tell you, that is exactly what I got.Without even needing to look in my car Matt was able to tell me what size speakers I needed, what harness I needed, and overall seemed very knowledgeable about car electronics. Matt walked me through a few options I could do. He gave me a good, better, and best option and let me decide which one best fit my budget. With such a wide selection of products I felt like I had more choice in the matter. I can’t stand when shops try to force you to buy their certain product. Other car stereo shops just carry one brand, one type of product, and don’t have it in stock. Because Car Toyz carries a lot of their product at the store, I was able to set up an appointment the next day.The install looked clean and had no issues after the fact. Car Toyz has gained my trust and will be doing business with them if I ever need any work on my car.

So, I started a project to change my 13 year old stereo. For whatever reason when I installed it my front speakers went out (probably user error). I thought it was because some of the wires were left over (however come to find out they werent even plugged into the old stereo). I decided to take it to them when they opened the next morning. They figured it out and installed new speakers pretty quickly and even put everything back together. Super please. Im excited to get my windows tinted from them!

Went there to get door locks and alarm put in. When they installed it non on my door worked and the guy a the front got mad at my about it not working. Asked them to take it out because there was no point of keeping it, literally ripped my car about and destroyed my door handle. Now I cant even open my car door. THe worst experience ever, cooperate needs to be contacted. Imad was the S/P

Where to start, they illegal sell cars as is with out some form of warrenty which is against the law for dealers to do, they also clear out codes on cars and dont disclose those to the buyer which is also illegal. they dont count of the buyer finding these laws out. nor do they bank of you putting the car on a computer at the dealer and getting a print out of codes and the DATES THOSE CODES WERE CLEARED. Never take a copy of a car fax, ask for the original or run your own. Car Toyz is not a better way to go. stick to certified dealers or private sellers. and always have a mechanic check out the car.... SHAME ON YOU.ps. it is illegal to sell cars from a dealership AS IS. and its illegal for a dealership to try to sell a car as a private party to a Private party and thats what you did. See yall in court... My lawyer would like to know if you have a lawyer he can send this to or do you just want served in your store. or you could just do the right thing!

They were great!! I went in the shop looking for car accessories. When I told him I was getting my windows tinted the next day, he said he would tint them and gave me a cheaper price. 2 hours later my windows were tinted and I was extremely happy with the end product. My car is looking right now.

I went in today, Friday April 11 at 2pm, to get a price on speakers for my Honda civic. I *thought* the rear one was blown. I had just been to Best Buy where (after being ignored twice) they were quick to just make the sale. The nice guy at Car Toyz wanted to go out and listen to the speaker, which I thought was a good idea. After listening for a bit he removed a piece of paper that had been laying on the speaker. Surprisingly to me, the blown speaker noise subsided. Granted, I felt like a prize idiot, but the guy just smiled (I know he was trying not to laugh, I would have laughed). He of course still offered to sell me speakers if I wanted them, but said mine sounded fine.THAT is true professionalism and great business practice. Even though I luckily did not need speakers today, I WILL be back to Car Toyz when I am ready to purchase new ones. I did look at prices while I was there and I must say they are very fair and reasonable.My infinite thanks to this wonderful guy and to Car Toyz for being such a great company.

I initially came in only because it was near my house and would allow me to test drive equipment I would then buy online. Well you know what? Now I wont spend anywhere but here!! I found the unit I wanted at a price very close to what I had in mind. The overall value of my experience is money well spent. The install was smooth and flawless. Im VERY particular about how I like my possessions, and some who know me well say Im high functioning OCD. Matt not only met every request and guideline I imposed upon him, but had the poise and product knowledge of a seasoned audio/video vet twice his age. Ive called in with questions and visited for demos. Now Ive made two large purchases/installations with Matt & Car Toyz. Already making arrangements for my third. The ONLY place to retail and install for 100 miles.(& prices are better than my boys at Independence Audio;)

Went to Car Toyz and got quoted a price for a new head unit. The employees were very respectful and knowledgeable. Ended up getting the head unit installed, they were very time efficient and had me out of the store in no time even with them having a person getting a whole system installed. I would totally recommend Car Toyz to anyone looking to get great customer service from knowledgeable workers.

Went in with a stereo I bought elsewhere, made sure I knew I needed extra parts because I researched this model, install was great would get a 5 star as I bought new speakers up front and was told the back are fine but they are not working at all, went back to have them checked the manager said I called him a liar said I wanted free stuff, if you want to be treated like a customer go elsewhere, the manager called me ignorant, said he would call the police and started yelling because he wanted to be right, go elsewhere they do not respect customers especially when they yell at you, not a professional at all!

Shady. Full story....I was out of town visiting my brother in Topeka .my sub of about 10 years blew .Went to Car toys in Topeka and bought a replacement . After installation it was blown. I should of followed my gut and not accepted the open box with screws rolling around in it. I wanted a replacement for the long drive home though. Took sub back and guys at car toys blamed my setup. After arguing with them they gave me store credit minus a fee for blowing the sub which was blown in an open box when I bought it but what choice did I have. I was told by the Topeka store my credit could be used in the Lawrence store since it was closer and the Topeka store did not have another sub. Headed to Lawrence where that store says nope Topeka store credit was no good but they did have a replacement sub if I wanted to buy another one. Yeah right. Bought a jbl sub from another shop in KC close to home loud and clear where they looked over my setup and said if I blow it bring it back and theyll give me another. Ended up using store credit eventually from car toys next time I went and visited my brother weeks later. Hours of driving time down the drain, poor customer service, misinformation, and shorted money on return.

Got my windows tinted today and Andrew did a great job!! I cant believe how much window tint completely changed the appearance of my car for the better!! They have a nice homey waiting room with couches and a TV with cable so even my kids were entertained (which was something I didnt see at the competitors shop). I did some shopping around before I made my decision and Im so glad I chose CarToyz! Pricing was about the same but the staff at CarToyz was much more friendly and seemed to have more product knowledge than their competition. They will come highly recommend from me!

Came in looking for an amp+sub combo to fit under the driver seat of my car along with a budget in mind.Matt delivered. He worked with me on my budget to get the most bang for my buck and ended up with a pioneer ts-wh500. It fits perfectly under my seat with room to spare on top of the amazing sound the subs have for something so little.Andrew did the installation. Everything looks clean and i like the fact that the controller was place where its easily accessible and doesnt get in the way of my driving.Overall, I’m very happy with the results. They even fixed up the mess I did when I installed my aftermarket head unit. I no longer have that cheap plastic sounds coming for my cheap plastic interior after they fixed me up. I now legitimately enjoy listening to my music over listening to the sound of my car 😁

I have a 25 year old Lexus SC400 that I have kept in almost mint condition over the years. But it was time to replace the premium Nakamichi sound system that came with the car in 1992. I really wanted Apple Car Play and excellent current sound system but was worried at the new system looking like a add on.Well, let me tell you, these guys provided the top of line Pioneer system, all new speakers, replaced the amp and added a second amp for the new sub woofer and installed SiriusXM and a back up camera. Every single item looks like it was original to the car. No visible wires for the mike or digital antennas or the back up camera (all new items to an old car).I love it. To top this excellent installation, some months later I was having trouble getting the head unit to connect to my iPhone for Car Play. I went in to see them and it turned out that the connector in bottom of my phone was dirty. They took the time to diagnose this issue, clean the connector (It now connects every time!) and didnt charge me a thing.I will always shop here for any of their toys that I want!!!

I feel that Car Toyzs installation price is very fair, given the market average, yet the customer service I received at the Lawrence location was very poor and unfriendly at best. They almost seemed unwilling to install any product I did not purchase directly through them. I ultimately utilized University Audio here in Lawrence, which I recommend highly, both for their reasonably priced installs and their owners fantastic advice and patient demeanor.

Constant issues with their house hold brand Rockford Fosgate 12 P2s subs with defects...havent had the subs for a month and its my second time having to replace them! 😡

In response to the gentleman who was talking about his rear view camera system that was never installed. the customer was never charged a dime . after we installed the backup system we decided to let the customer decide if he liked it before we pulled the car out of our bay, he decided he didnt, after three hours of work we gave him some alternatives and he declined. so we told him we had to charge for our time and he refused to pay so we cut our losses and returned the vehicle to the customer. never was there any cursing or anything of that nature . the reason he called the cops was so he would make sure his car was put back together I guess? the car was returned to the customer before anyone showed up. these are the facts the customer was charged nothing for three hours of work then he calls the police for no apparent reason, then he gets on here to write a review. the first thing he starts with is an Arabian looking guy . I think that really shows you what kind of guy he really is you decide. I want everyone to read the rest of the reviews of customers that actually purchased something here or even ask around about us Im sure you will read or hear great things about us. as for the second gentleman who suggested he didnt hear such great things about us so he decided to go somewhere else. the customer he was referring to bought a gift certificate for a dollar amount based on the current estimated cost for a remote start in November. the reason he bought a gift certificate for a dollar amount instead of the specific item was because of the fact that he didnt know what kind of car it was going on. six months later he comes in to use the gift certificate for a remote start and there was a price difference of $30. those are the facts you decide. if we were trying to in his words scam people wouldnt you think we would try something a little more lucrative! you decide.

Are zero stars possible? I had to miss 4 days of work because these guys couldnt get it right. I had never had any electrical issues with my car until I bought a stereo system from here and had them install it, which came close to $1000. When I showed IP to pick up my car, my drivers side window was broken, it was stick down and it wouldnt roll up. I was unable to drive my car all week as there was an 80% chance of rain all week and I did not want anything stolen. After I brought it for them to fix, I went to test out my windows and to my surprise the rear window didnt roll all the way up, and then none of the windows worked. Then after a week my radio just stopped working, no sound, no touch screen nothing. So I brought it back in and they would do nothing to compensate for the money I lost by not going to work due to having to deal with their mistakes, nor would the give me a refund. Long story short, Car Toyz in Lawrence Kansas, will never get business from me again, and I hope that you find this review helpful and make an educated decision in going to another company to have your radio or stereo installed.

A Few months ago I went to Best Buy and got a New Kenwood Stereo and had Best Buy install it. The Stereo did not do all they said it would do. They did not show me how to use it and it never looked right in my car. the installation was not professional and they had broken the trim cover when they installed it. It also cost me a lot more to install it compared to what the price of the stereo was itself. Now shopping for a New Stereo for my partner. I went to Car Toyz in Raytown they were very helpful and professional. I had them them pull the stereo out of my car and put in in my partners car and it now looks and works so much better in his car. I then got a New Pioneer Stereo from them that does everything I wanted and more. They did everything for me so quickly and professionally. I was very impressed the stereo is great and the installation was perfect. I also had them install key-less entry & remote start with an alarm. They were awesome at getting everything done professionally and quickly. I would highly recommend.

When i came in there i wanted my 2 15inch subs. I was set on that, then they convinced me to get 2 12inch subs.. now im stuck with these weak 12inch subs and cant do nothing about it.

Cant put a single star because I didnt come in, but I got put on a twelve minute hold. I called them at about 4:25, and I have to imagine I was just sitting there because they didnt want to do anything before the store closed at five. I understand waiting a few minutes, but twelve is more then enough. Im disappointed.

Someone below wrote a bad review because the manager yelled at him for parking there. I actually did the same thing because the Chipotle parking lot was full, and he just came outside and politely informed me that parking there was not allowed (I hadnt seen the sign). This man couldve easily towed my car but was instead very polite and forgave me for illegally parking on his property. Im planning on getting a new stereo in my car soon, and when I do I know where Im going to shop!

I was an installer here for a long time, I can tell you that the manager would get into arguments with me for wanting to do things the right way. He would use the incorrect parts for vehicles. Such as the LED headlight bulbs of your vehicle needed a 9004 and all he had was H3 bulbs, he would put an H3 bulb into your car and use hot glue to hold it in. He would use used parts and charge you for the new part. Overall, being a person that worked there, I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT LET THESE GUYS WORK ON YOUR VEHICLE!!!Update to the comment they left: in no way, shape, or form am I upset. I actually have another job that is way better, and wayyy more pay. I leave this review to let the public know what goes on behind the closed doors. And believe me, there is alot of sketchy stuff that goes on. The manager, known as matt which his real name is Imad Heyyeh, loves to use hot glue as a fix or remedy for everything. As your vehicle is there, he will constantly bad mouth you. All they want is your money. For a car audio shop that could be amazing, Matt will try to tell you anything to get your business, but when it comes to the quality of work for how much you pay, this place is #1 in town for ripping you off!!!

You tell me, what stars would you give? I payed for a Pioneer AVH4200 I have the box and the receipt. A Pioneer AVH 4100 was installed. When we figured this out, we went back to talk to who I believe is the owner. I was expecting the right system to be installed but instead we were kicked out of the store and told THEY would call the police. So much for promises of good service on their website.I payed an extra 99.99 for a seperate camera. So no. The 4201 you allege brings a 4200 with camera. What I am sharing is that this company installed a 4100.Further, I called the Topeka store to see if they would work with us given that the Lawrence store kicked us out. The Topeka manager said he was busy and would call back. I am still waiting for that phone call.

I parked in their parking lot for 5 minutes because the lot next door at Chipotle was full. The middle eastern looking guy (the manager I think) came outside and CUSSED me out, called me all kinds of names and even threatened me. This is the most unprofessional person I have come across in a very long time. Thats saying quite a lot since I work construction where yelling and cussing is commonplace. It says something about a company that would promote someone with a temper like his to a management position. I will NEVER do business at Car Toyz because of the confrontational nature of their manager. A very polite hey, can you please not park here was all that needed to be said. This guy has no business dealing with the public (which are all potential customers). If one of my employees acted like this, they would be fired on the spot. No questions asked. I can only hope his boss reads this review and sees exactly what kind of person is running his Lawrence store.

Ive had Matt and his guys do 3 cars, a corvette, a honda and a truck. All complete systems (subs, amps, head units, etc). All sounded great. All done timely. All great service. Im getting ready to have them do a 4th car very soon.

Havent heard a lot of good things so far and was thinking about going there to outfit my sons car with some serious tunes, but i had a really good friend share his experience with them from earlier this week about a gift certificate he bought for his wife around Christmas for an auto start and when they went to pick it up they were told they owed money on top of certificate because when it was purchased the auto start was on sell but not on sell now. WTH? what a terrible way to do business and what a rip off move attempt. ill be taking my business to the new 6th street car audio store now for sure.

Wanted to shop local! Purchased a air horn for my husbands truck. Cost 60 dollars later to find out, I could have gotten it off the internet for 15! Cheap plastic, looks like a novelty toy! He also said it would come with everything, it didnt!

Wonderful experience. These guys know their stuff when it comes to car stereo equipment and car alarm systems.Ive been a studio musician for many years, mostly in the past at this point. Still, I like my tunes in my car to sound right. I dont want to spend a fortune like I used to do when I was a kid, either.The other day I noticed some air flutters coming out of the stock 2003 Buick Century I was driving. Blown speaker was my only conclusion. I went to Car Toyz and began the process. I was fully prepared for upsale and headaches but was pleasantly surprised when the manager was super mellow; more than willing to listen to MY needs and requirements (I mean, its a 12 year old car). He steered me in the direction I needed and the rest was up to me. No pressure at all and all the time I needed/wanted to select what I was needing.I started off with just a pair of the singular blown front speaker. The replacements I selected, along with the assistance of manager Matt were installed as I waited (in a comfortable space area, complete with a HD tv and many channels to occupy my time) and in less than one hour, I was out there and my tunes were back only far more better than ever.In fact, I returned two days later and went through the same process, getting assistance only when I asked for it; no hustle; laid back sales help when needed; as I looked for speakers for the rear deck of this Buick which had 12 year old stock speakers in it.I ended up replacing all the speakers and for a beyond fair price, including installation which comes with a LIFETIME install warranty and full warranty support for the products from Car Toyz.For Lawrence, this place is the only place to go. I drew the line at purchasing a remote starter, which they both sell and install. And Car Toyz also has some very most excellent high end sound and video equipment if youre in that market place. Theyve got the new console modules complete with rear camera for back up purposes as well as in car DvD systems. This place is not into upselling, either.If you have no idea what you want or need, no problem. Theyll help you discover for yourself what you want.All told, its a good deal all the way around. Just do it.

I recently went in to Car Toyz to see about getting my car adapted to an ipod or other audio device. I do not know much about car audio, but the guys at Car Toyz were very helpful and explained clearly what I needed to get going. They are informative and friendly. They did the work quickly and did a great job on the install. If I need anything for my car audio I am going to them. If you are just an average joe when it comes to this stuff like I am, then I think you should definitely check them out.I see some bad reviews on here but I dont get it. I think the bad reviews are from car audio freaks who probably freak out about stuff anyways. Yeah, they are those guys pounding your eardrums in when they pull up next to you at a stop light. I think those enormous subwoofers are damaging their brains.

Go to Independence Audio! This place is a joke. I was quoted 1 price and once my truck was in the shop, the price inflated over $100 more than originally quoted. The owner kept telling me that my Alpine Navigation, blue tooth dvd player is a f*$#ing headache and I shouldve bought a unit from him. My unit is the best Alpine has to offer. The owner helped his installer install it. When finished they made me pay and they left without showing me anything about how the unit operates. Upon further inspection I realize they scratched the face and housing of my head unit, the usb jack was not connected right so I am stuck having to glue it myself, there is soldered metal drops stuck to my carpet and floor mats which will never come off, my door now creaks badly when opening and closing, they mounted my gps antenna outside the vehicle on the roof in plain view when I was told it would be mounted on the dash inside the vehicle and they smoked in my truck and left ashes everywhere. TOTAL DISASTER! I called Joe, the owner and explained my issues and that I have been a customer of his family for over 10 years since they were in Bannister mall under a different name. He was short and rude as he was from the beginning. He of course denied everything. He even said the scratches were already on my brand new unit. I asked why he didnt tell me about the scratch prior to installing, he said he didnt think it was necessary. He then proceeded to insult me for buying onlne and not buying some of the low end junk he sells. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere reputable that cares about their customers. This review is based on my experience with the Raytown location.
