Au Marche and its counterpart store are always part of my downtown trips. I always find something I want in there. My husband found his now regular soap, the Mistral brand bar soap, which are all good quality and amazing smelling. I also usually go here around Christmas to pick up a specialty blend ground coffee for my mother. When Im feeling particularly fancy I will treat myself to the delicious and inspired chocolates they sell in the front case. I highly recommend at least getting a 4 pack at some point, its at the very least an excellent form of self care, and also a great present.

Best little shop for fresh cheese and sliced meats. The assortment was great and everything I purchased was delicious. Visiting from east coast and stopped in near closing time to order an assortment of sliced meats and cheeses. The ladies were very pleasant and willing to go the extra mile to accommodate me. We put together our charcuterie board with the 10 samples of cut meats and 12 cheeses. All were so delicious and enjoyed. From the crackers, Olives, meats, Cheeses and chocolates I would highly recommend them all. Thank you.

A lot of these products you wont find at other international or world markets. The treats and candies are incredible! My go-to recommendations are the Niederegger marzipan and a crisp cold mezzo mix from the fridge. Hope they carry more Polish foods and sweets again soon!

Just a Sample of French DelightsDuring my exploration of Lawrence, Kansas, I trekked over to Au Marche. With my current book, The Fat Girls Club Paris Bound on it’s debut, I longed for a return to The City of Lights. This quaint and delightful shop was a reminder of the ones I came across along the streets and alleys of Paris. The store offers a sampling of beauty, food and other fun items. The clerk, October, (yes, that is her name) assisted in my search for items to offer my contest winners. She was an enjoyable host as she pointed out unique items I couldn’t find anywhere else.Don’t pass up the candies in the display case. Not only are they a treat for the eyes, the flavors will wake up your taste buds.Overall: This classy shop is worth a visit because of the wonderful customer service.

Great store for us lost souls from Holland 🇳🇱. The chocolate letters that I remember as a young child coming from my Oma & Opa during Christmas is a fond memory. Today I brought (3) letters.

You can buy a lot of things at Au Marché that you wont find anywhere else in Kansas. Its all pretty fancy, too. French soaps? Why not? Chocolates so pretty you could frame them? Do it.

We love this shop in downtown Lawrence, and have missed it during the pandemic. They now have early morning and late afternoon appointment only shopping hours for up to only five people at a time, which is a great idea! My wife and I had 25 minutes all to ourselves this morning to shop, which was wonderful!

You can get different Scandinavian cookbooks here! They have rare Scandinavian Fish too. We will have to come back and purchase some. Enjoyable especially these days when these immigrant groups arent as numerous as they were in centuries past.

A cute little French goods store with an interesting selection. Do you want a bit of handcrafted candy? They have it. Fresh ground coffee? They have it. Looking for quality soap? They have that too. I stopped in when a local vineyard Blue Jacket was having a free tasting. They paired the stores cheese and chocolate with the wines. The pairings were excellent and I went home with a little bit of everything! This was in part because the customer service and knowledge of the staff helped me make a decision. I recommend stopping in and giving them a try!

I love this place. It is one of the few places in town where you can find European imported foods. Its a small shop, so they dont have everything, but they carry a lot of the things a person would crave that are very hard to come by in the US. They have deli meats, baked goods, tons of treats and candies, frozen meats, cheeses, etc. If youre looking for salmiaki (salty licorice) theyve got several varieties. Lots of great mustards, sauces, etc. For an import store the prices are pretty decent too.
