Completed a clock repair in time for a big occasion, and on a fairly short deadline. We really appreciated Marks Jewelers’ effort and professionalism. Clock works great! We were glad we could get it repaired at a locally owned business in Downtown Lawrence.

Allen assembled my dad’s grandfather clock after it’s transport to LFK. He was kind, efficient, knowledgeable. He went above and beyond helping me out. He made a point to ask me about my fathers love for clocks and even took the time to look over my dads personal notes about clock repairs (one of dads hobbies) after he learned the circumstances of getting the clock to Lawrence. A few years back, my older sister was graduating from nursing school, and my mom sent me to go look at jewelers to find a gift for her. We were thinking a very nice pair of earrings and a necklace or a ring. I typically go to another local jewelry store on Mass, but I parked by Marks so I decided to stop in. Upon entering, I was treated with so much disrespect. I was 19 at the time, and the woman assisting me seemed to think that I was up to no good, or wasting her time. I was talked down to and made to feel like I could never afford anything in the store. When I asked about earrings, she led with, Oh well, the least expensive ones we carry are $____. I was shocked, because it felt like she assumed I had no money, when I was prepared to spend a considerable amount at the store, and I never even mentioned a budget. I was definitely the youngest person in the shop that day, but as a business, I dont think it should matter what your customers look like. Luckily, I went down a few blocks to my favorite jewelry store and was able to find the perfect gift for my sister! If you are a younger person or KU student looking for jewelry, I would look elsewhere before you try going to Marks. Their merchandise is nice, but the service is horrible.

I went in to get my wife a gift for having our daughter and the staff was extremely helpful. I ended up getting her a pair of peridot earrings (daughter was born in August; birthstone). I was very satisfied and my wife loves the earrings. I highly recommend shopping here

My husband and I took our enameled clock to Marks Jewelers to have it repaired. The service they gave us was excellent. While my husband was there to pick up our clock, he had them replace the watch band on his watch, too, which had broken. They did this easily and cheerfully. We are very pleased.

I brought in a variety of pieces to be looked over, some for insurance appraisal, some for general sale value, and some for repair/resizing. And of the insurance and sale pieces, I wasnt sure which category theyd fall into so I was a bit worried I was going to be a problem. But Rachel was great, quickly sorted what should be appraised for insurance versus from the rest, explained how shed fix a string of rough-cut stones so they couldnt come free of the clasp again (and helped me choose a stronger clasp), and more. Shes enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and friendly -- as was the other staff member we interacted with off and on (my apologies, I never got her name!). The insurance appraisals came back quickly and when I picked everything back up, she made sure I understood everything and didnt have any questions. Marks is officially the only jeweler in town for me now!

Your ring is finished. The jeweler leaves in an hour. Can you come down and try it out real quick? This was told to us the day before our wedding. They said it would be done a week before. We called them and they said it would be ready by the wedding. We got that call the day before. The ring fit, but if it hadnt wed have been out of luck because the day before your wedding tends to be pretty busy and we couldnt get down there. Jeweler had left. No apology from anybody of any kind. If you want to add extra stress to your wedding day, by all means go to Marks. If you want to get your stuff at the time you agreed upon go anywhere else.

My mother’s wedding ring is from Marks. After 30 years, it’s still beautiful and in great shape! We recently visited just to look around and the woman helping us was delightful. I had the BEST experience with Marks Jewelers, particularly an employee named Rachel. I had ordered a bracelet and charm through Marks and requested that the charm be engraved. Rachel was so kind to call me to say that the engraving would be less expensive if they were to have the company from which theyd ordered the charm actually do the engraving as opposed to Marks doing the engraving (as Id initially requested that Marks do the engraving). After the bracelet and charm arrived, Rachel called again to ask if Id like them to attach the charm to the bracelet; she then called again to let me know that it was ready to be picked up by me.Upon arriving at Marks, another employee asked if Id like her to box and wrap the bracelet, which I did; she did a lovely job.A wonderful experience from start to finish. I love Marks! I have a ring that needed repaired, I brought it in and was greeted with a smile by their lovely staff. All of the staff is knowledgeable and so helpful. They told me it would possibly take two weeks to fix my ring, I was fine with that. I was surprised when I got a phone call less than a week later letting me know it was ready. They fixed it beautifully, I can’t even see where it was repaired. I will use them again for my jewelry needs.

I brought in an all but antique Chelsea Naval Ships clock that even my boys in the Navy could not get parts for anymore. The craftsman at Marks went through and cleaned the defunct clock, identified what parts were no longer working and replaced them for a now good as new timepiece. I was especially impressed with the speed and professionalism expedited by the entire staff. Would highly recommend Marks Jewelers for this kind of speciality service.

My expansion watch band (some of us still wear watches) had come apart. I dropped it off at Marks, where I was told it could be fixed within a few minutes. My companions and I went shopping. Marks appraised and sorted my jewelry for me, helping me tell the difference between costume jewelry and real jewelry.They even buy jewelry.My $50 diamond necklace broke, and they made the remaining parts into a cute and sturdy little pendant for only $30!I couldn’t afford to enlarge my rings, but making them smaller is affordable. Every time I go in, they polish them for free!

The face of my watch completely shattered when I dropped it on the ground. Brought it here and asked them to swap out the broken face with one from another watch I own that wasnt broken so I could keep using the band because it was my favorite. Went in to fix a very old ring of mine with a cracked band. Staff was knowledgeable, kind, and gave me great personalized recommendations. I ended up stacking the ring between two other bands to ensure stability and strength in the future. Turnaround was very quick, cost was incredibly reasonable and I got my ring back in probably the best shape it has been in since it was bought.

We wanted my wifes anniversary ring custom made using the diamonds from her grandmothers ring. We had always used Marks when we lived in Lawrence and had nothing but great experiences. Now that we live in KC, we inquired as to the service of other jewelry stores, including the galleria that everyone always talks about. To compare, we drove to Lawrence to talk to Marks. Rich was awesome to work with. He listened to want we wanted and gave suggestions to make the design even better to compliment my wifes pear shaped center stone. The price ended up being 60% of the lowest other prices we were quoted in KC! Yeah, just over half! We actually called back to make sure the quote was for platinum and not white gold. Marks continues to be the best in the business with service and quality that has no equal. They are absolutely worth the drive to Lawrence.

I took a very special bracelet to Marks to have the clasp repaired. The young lady who waited on me was friendly and very helpful. She even consulted with their jeweler for his recommendation for restructuring the clasp to prevent future possibilities of its coming undone without my knowledge and then my losing my bracelet. The bracelet was finished in a timely manner, and I was more than pleased with the result.

Affordable, quick service to get the crystal on my wife’s watch replaced. Watch looks like it did when we took it out of the box. Staff was also very courteous and helpful.

I believe since I did not have some serious bling I was not shown the utmost care by the jeweler I was talking to. I waited almost 3 weeks to have him even discuss my design with him. I did indeed let him know of my dissatisfaction with his service to me. He then came around..got the design finished in a matter of days and also gave me a discount. I wish this could have happened sooner but in the end I hope he saw his way. I am very pleased with the work that was done and love his insight to design.

My Teague watch had become a bit hard to wind over a few years use so I brought it in fo a cleaning. Marks jeweler took it apart, cleaned it and replaced the gasket seals. It is working like newProfessional and friendly service. The lady I talked with was very nice. I’d go back again and recommend them.

Customer service was excellent, even though I was just there for a ring resizing. It was also nice that they cleaned my ring for me too. And, they guessed 10-14 days and it was done in no more than 7!
