Cute little bookstore that is definitely unique. Lots of books, of all kinds, crammed everywhere and definitely smells like old books. But if you love books, you will enjoy looking through them all. Sandy is very friendly and unique herself.Things to note: Cash only, two cats walking around, and price is apparently done by halving the price written on the book, then adjusting according to the books condition.
After a mix up with an Amazon order, (completely unrelated to Sandys) Ive been searching for a Psychology Textbook. My class started today and Ive resulted in calling local bookstores to try and find it. Sandy didnt have the text book, but you know what she did have? Kindness, attention to detail and great customer service. She was able to locate the text online and offer to order it for me. Even though I declined, for now, she went above and beyond for me. Her kindness and overall professionalism will not be forgotten. I cant wait to go see her and all of her beautiful pets! I would also like to add, this woman is in her 90s! And still rocking life! Love her kind of energy and love of life
Okay let me explain something. Do not go here expecting to pick out a book and just simply walk up to the counter and pay for it. You are in for a real experience. Yes people are complaining about the smell. Yes people are complaining about the dogs. This is not your typical bookstore. If you are a complete Bookworm youre in for a real treat. Sandy is looking for people who love books the way she does and so in order to get a great deal just be real about your interest in Reading. Youre going to wind up very surprised. She makes very good deals for her customers. Ill give you an example. We planned on getting one book. We ended up getting a box set for a really good deal because my son loves to read books over and over. So definitely allow time for her to entertain because youre going to want to go back again. Thank you Sandy!
Quirky little place. Huge selection of books in every genre to pick from. They only take cash. Unfortunately, the smell of mold and mildew is very overpowering when you walk in. The shop dog was cute but they had him chained up to weights as he walked around?? Super bizarre & kind of upsetting to see. The checkout process includes the shop owner handwriting the names of every book. And then she randomly writes a price. Book lovers- it may be a good idea to check it out
Really nice lady needed a book and she worked out a deal with me.
For an older shop it has alot of character. But its no Barnes and Nobel
Sandy is very lovely and friendly and willing to go the extra mile to help. She also has a cute shop assistant dog and two cats! Although the store is small, you can find pretty much anything you want! Prices were very fair but make sure you have cash!
My brother and I stopped in on a whim after Google showed us that they were nearby. We found a lovely selection of books, and such a wonderful owner. Prices were great, ended up buying three books for me to sample, and four for my brother. We will be back.
Best bookstore Ive ever been to
Found this store randomly and was pleasantly surprised at the service and selection. Both were wonderful. My family got lost in the selection and searching for our never ending booklist. The owner and her staff where super helpful when we asked if they had certain books and even asked to help us find them. We paid between $1-5 for our 12 books.
Never judge a book by its cover! That’s statement couldn’t be more true about this little hidden treasure. Floor to ceiling stacks of adventure, romance and wonders waiting for you.
I called to inquire about a childrens book today. After being asked by the owner..What is the name of the book ? I mentioned the name when I asked about the book.. Then had to repeat it 4 times.Who is the author ?What does the book look like? How many pages does the book have? What does the front of the book look like ?Holy smokes... So nerve racking ! I will never step a foot into this book store .
I found this bookstore a really wonderful experience. Been there several times and will go back every chance I get. I found Sandy and her assistant very pleasant and helpful. The prices were very good and she even lowered the prices sometimes without my asking. If you are in a hurry, come back when you are not in a hurry. There are way too many books to sort through in a short time and I personally have yet to get past the first room in my search for the right books. She may be slow listing your purchases manually but I enjoy using that time to talk to her, I like visiting with those who are not in such a hurry they do not have time to be friendly, and she is very friendly and pleasant to be around.
Lots of books but had to look for a while to get what i got.
Sandy is a little quirky and her store is just overrun with piles of books everywhere. She did give me a tour on my first visit, which was very helpful, but if you are looking for something specific, she will try to find it for you. She also apparently has a warehouse somewhere in town that has more books than the store, if that is possible. She operates her cash out by hand, with a calculator and the process is usually a bit slow. This is part of her quirkiness, but she really is a sweet lady.
Great selection of all types of books. I’ve been to Shakespeare and company in Paris and the strand in NYC and this place is similar but on smaller level. Sorry there are no new books
My high school age daughter loved this bookstore. Prices are very reasonable. Lovely people to greet you at the door. There was quite a large selection of Christian books. Weve been repeat customers since we decided to stop in.
I really liked this place! I went this morning for the first time. They have a ton of books to choose from. The prices are reasonable.
Great bookstore though you have to dig sometimes to find your treasures
Owner was very enthusiastic about helping us find what we needed. She was very forgetful and kept mistaking me for other people, and she was very pushy to keep us in the store. However we did end up finding what we needed, and at a very good price.
Had to dig a bit but the selection available was awesome!!
Oh my goodness! Sandy is amaziñg! I have been in search of several out of print books; Sandy has worked so diligently to assist me in finding the books in great/good condition. This is the start of a beautiful relationship.!.
Its my new favorite place the ladies are friendly and helpful. You can trade book there as well it looks small but once you get inside you Gould get last for hours!!! Its a must visit
A hidden gem as far as used bookstores. The ladies working there were very friendly and personable and eager to help. Huge selection of books! We are very happy with what we found!
The customer service at this store cant be beat! Good selection as far as a used book store goes. I enjoyed the store and will return again and again! Hours: Monday-Saturday 11:00am-6:00pm
A little pricey for used books. She does have a nice selection. The place is small and you have to dig for books, which is like a treasure hunt
Erin may have been there without the owner present four years ago. On 6/31/16, I spent 70 minutes picking out 80 books to purchase. The price was unclear from the beginning, and the owner raised the price three times while thinking of a figure. I offered a hundred dollars just to pay for everything and leave, and she wanted an hour to write down every title for her antiquated filing system by hand. Since I planned to give these books away as Christmas gifts, she raised the price. Finally, she refused to sell me any goods because she was unclear of my purpose with them. Then asked me to leave because Im not from Lawton. Then followed me outside and wrote down my license plate. I feel sorry for its employees, they are pleasant and obedient to the owner. This store is a full hoard of dust, and mold and seriously needs an update on many levels. The building is probably a fire hazard and definitely unclean. They are more emotionally attached to its inventory then to sell it for cash. Theres a dog blocking the entrance door and its creepy. Enter at your own risk!
Interesting little store; definitely has a larger selection of books than you could imagine!! I will definitely go back !!
Lots of books. Cash only. Short floppy eared dog named brutus and a couple friendly cats. Cramped, but I found alot of books I liked. Feel like I missed a bunch though. Fairly well organized. Some authors are in multiple sections. More expensive than I thought. 2 bucks per goosebumps. 5 for a zombie book. 7 for hard cover legend of hyrule zelda. Not bad. Not great
Great people there to help,I really enjoyed seeing these young kids offerings to help at no charge cuz I asked. Yesterday done my heat good but yet there are there still somepeople that just DONT CARE they just need to remember someday it wil?l;
They are amazing love seeing their smiling faces
The owner is super nice and they have a large selection.
She has a ton of books. You can spend all day on there if you dont mind the cat smell and Sandy talking your ear off.
Sandy was very helpful, I recommend this place for anybody who loves books.
Very nice lady.
Great store very friendly and affordable
I love it
Never again
