We absolutely love this little spot for both grains/brewing supplies AND local brew on tap. Lots of canned and bottled options from ALL over as well. This mango infused beer was delish!

Great place to pick up ingredients or equipment for home brewing. Excellent selection of grains, hops and other flavors and fermentables. And while youre there, you can enjoy a pint or two of their selection of canned, bottled and tapped craft brews.

Nice owners and premium selection! Solid variety of Richmond beers. Pricing is reasonable per the quality of selection. Looks like you could brew your own beer there and or have classes to learn. Will be back and look forward to following the tap lineups.

Unfortunately, I cannot rate them high for having a beer at. They weigh the beer. So when you order a 16oz draft, you dont get 16 fluid ounces, you get 16 ounces by weight, which is less than 16 fluid ounces. Second, they have half pours, but they charge you 60% of a full pour. When asked why its not just half, they said its because they may accidentally pour you more than half. So in the end, I paid for 15.5 ounces of beer and only received about 11 ounces. The workers were nice enough and the selection isnt bad, but there are better beer stores in the area, or better yet go to one of the nearby great breweries.

This place is never open! Even during posted hours. I’ve given this place several chances but they are often times much over priced compared to other shops around. Selection is good but would rather visit similar stores since the operating hours are so inconsistent.

Long time coming for this review. This place is a complete gem in Leesburg, for craft beer fans. They always have a great selection of 4pks and singles along with 8 taps of rotating local and other hard to get beers of draft. They have been killing it lately with their weekly drops. A ton of amazing out of state rarities paired with a great local in state selection as well. They also sell brew at home supplies and before covid, provided in house brew options and workshops.I hope they dont take offense to this but this is a complete Mom and Pop store/operation that really adds to the appeal for me. They know their customers, they know what they do well and they also do it on their terms. Dawn and George are amazing people who try their best to make every interaction a positive one.Quick story, one the one of many reasons I love this place. There was one beer that I continually bought from K&G whenever they had it. When a new hop variant of the same beer came out, K&G got a limited quantity and it sold out before I got over to the store. When I didnt see it on the shelf I asked Dawn and George and before I got it out, Dawn goes You really liked this beer right? I saved you can, it was tough but we know you really liked it. I was floored.Support this local place. You wont regret it.

4/5 November 2018. We did a beer brewing here in November and December of 2018. Theyve got a very capable Brewing set-up whether you know nothing about Brewing or quite a bit its an interesting place. I would say if you have any interest in Homebrewing its absolutely worth trying. They also have a bar and pretty good food options while you wait. If youre not used to Brewing youll figure out that waiting is a significant part of it. Well its not cheap, its investment worth making if you have any interest. Weve gotten plenty of positive feedback on the beer we brewed at kettles and Grains.

Ive done group brew-on-premise at least 3 times with George and Dawns guidance and this is before all the taps and food services were available. Tons of fun. The beer we brewed were very satisfying. George even refunded us the cost of batch when it didnt ferment well. And I didnt know that the smoked malt tasted like smoked BBQ pork. Overall, a wonderful and superlative learning experience.

I got a gift card for a 5 gallon brew. The staff helped me pick out a beer, took me through the process, and make it an engaging and fun experience. As a novice brewer, I felt comfortable that they were taking me in the right direction and we were going to end with a quality beer. It was a great weekend excursion with beers on tap and food to share with my brew partner. Highly recommend it to anyone wanting to try to brew, watch others brew, or find some great beers!

George and Dawn really run a great home brewing shop. Its very clean and extremely well organized making finding what I need quick and easy. Ive purchased both home brewing ingredients and equipment here. If they dont have it, George can get is pretty quickly and help you improve your home brewing setup in time for your next batch as well as save you some shipping costs. I really appreciate the Do-it-yourself grain bins and the super accurate scales they have available. Im one of those people who likes to get my measurements accurate to the gram so my brews come out consistent. Its also tough to beat their selection of beers on tap for growler fills.

Great place for supplies. Their grain Mill is set too coarse and reduces extraction efficiency. Buy your grain whole and grind it yourself. Great on site beer selection for consumption while shopping or brewing or just having a cold one. Limited kitchen. Sort of cool for a store.

Im sure this is a great place to buy beer crafting supplies, beer on tap, or even bottle or can beer to go, just dont drink that bottle or can of beer in house. I was pointed to what was a tasty can of beer after tasting a couple of tap beers that I didnt care for. The can had a price tag on it of $2.75. Fair enough. Asked if Id drink it in house or take it with me, I said Id enjoy it there while I looked around. He opened the can, asked if I wanted a glass and said, That will be $5.20. The can has a price of $2.75, I replied. He said, We add $2 to the price because you may occupy a table and we have to wash the glass. I said, $2?? You should have told me that, I would have just taken it with me.What I should have said was, You enjoy that beer now and then left.

I spoke with George, multiple times, who was VERY knowable about his products and other general questions that I had not related to products and just needed help and advice with! I did not actually but from them because I found someone closer to me with the same price, but I would definitely recommend then to anyone! He was extremely helpful and intelligent about products and processes that I needed help with! Even though I did not buy from them, I would recommend them to ANYONE!!!! When calling or going in store, request George!!!!!!

This place is absolutely amazing, and exactly what Leesburg needs. The front half is a home brew shop, and wow- they have everything you’ll need. The back half is their bottleshop and taproom. They always have great craft beers on tap. If you’re looking for a Miller Lite- sorry, you’ll be SOL. There’s no corn syrup here.

A great homebrew shop with a lot to offer. The owners are incredibly knowledgable and very helpful when it comes to brewing either on premise or at home and are more than willing to offer suggestions and recipes for the less experienced. On top of that, they have a really nice selection of beers on hand that you can try while youre there as well as a more impressive set that you can purchase and take home.Definitely recommend if you need the ingredients for home brewing or a bit of experienced wisdom to get your next brew off the ground.

I stopped in at the end of a business trip to see if I could find any beer that wasnt available from home. The owners were super nice, we talked for about 15-30 minutes. The place was spotless and very well maintained. The bottle selection was average and could benefit from the addition of more variety/choices. The homebrew setup looked very nice with large kettles. This place looks perfect for almost anyone looking to brew beer, from those who have never brewed before to experienced homebrewers to homebrewers looking to brew large amounts without purchasing larger equipment. If I lived closer I would be a regular. I even traded a beer for some nice swag. Check the place out. I dont think youll be disappointed.

IMHO, this is the DC areas finest homebrew supply store. Its clean, orderly, and they have a great variety of ingredients/hardware. George is very knowledgable - without being pretentious - and is always eager to help you out. There are other local homebrew stores nearby, but its worth it to me to make the trek to Leesburg to support these guys. As a bonus, you can pick up singles, bombers, even six packs (some cold) of your favorite craft brew!
