Selection is good. Prices are reasonable.Staff is great. Every time I’ve interacted with someone here, they are very warm, courteous, and the management is great.Recent updates are good, and self checkout has really removed the checkout bottleneck that was there before.

This Safeway is currently undergoing a very long overdue remodel. Unfortunately there is a good bit of empty shelves. However,once done I think they will once again be a competitor in the grocery market.

I have read some of the reviews. I give 5 stars. The managers have went out of there way to be friendly. Our first delivery here we were nervous but everyone was so nice and accommodating. Were from Indiana and I dont see what all the complaints are on not being modern? This store out does a lot of them in our area. Wonderful store, clean, restrooms and very friendly and helpful staff. 413 king street location. We enjoy being able to stock our truck when we deliver here. Just wish construction crew came in earlier.

We found everything we were looking for, including wooden matches. The produce is good. The store is a good size. Not too much walking.

Oddly, I consider this the new Safeway (as opposed to the old one, which was across the road). Still, this store is years past its prime and even a full shutdown and refresh would struggle to make it modern. Smaller refreshes only highlight how old everything is. Currently, the deli is ripped apart and there are steel plates down one whole aisle.In the past, I didnt like self-checkout. I dont work at the store, so why do I have to ring up my own purchases. Now, I consider it a must, and this store doesnt have it. Maybe a labor issue, I dont know, but whatever the reason it needs to be fixed. Combining this with a limited number of checkout lines makes for a bad experience.Still, they have all the groceries most people need and the staff are friendly and helpful.

I just like this store. Sometimes I need to pick up things for other people. The store is easy to navigate!

Love Safeway. You have to look for the deals. But still love the place

They openly lie about which vaccines they have in stock when you register for appointments. Dont waste hours driving to an appointment to get the only accessible J&J vaccination like I did.

This is your hometown grocery store. I have been shopping here since I was a little girl. Everyone is friendly and helpful. They have a lot of gluten free alternatives as well.

Ample parking, opens early, fresh vegetables, well displayed items, and good customer service.

You really cant go wrong shopping at Safeway. But why are paper towels and paper napkins about six aisles apart? Why are cookies and beer in the same aisle? Things could be grouped better.

So I generally purchase Ben and Jerry’s ice cream every 6 months or so. I went to the freezer section a saw a tag advertising 3 for $10. I thought to myself, I’ll take advantage of the promotion.I went to check out and told the cashier I didn’t have my card for the discount and would he be kind enough to give me the discount? He then said that will be $14.89. I said what about the discount? He then asked me to walk back to the freezer to show him the discount. Well on our way the manager followed us and they saw the discount tag. I then had to follow the manager to customer service desk. He ran the items to credit my card and said, oh! That’s not for Ben and Jerry’s, it’s Häagen-Dazs. I said the tag only says 3 for $10. It was right under the first row, but next to B&Jerrys. No message on what product and right next to B&Jerrys. No apology or adjustment on my card. This is done intentionally and this manager should have adjusted my purchase. I won’t shop there anymore. There are plenty of other choices and I won’t support a business that isn’t interested in customer service.They need to better train their managers.

Ive never really been to a Safeway before, but I am happy to say they have a lot of things that are usually out of stock at other places. The only con to it is there is usually only one or two registers and no self checkout, so if you come in for only a few things, you may be stuck behind multiple people buying their months worth of supplies.

The cashier that was working called for another cashier. The other cashier came quickly to open another line & he was pleasent.

Im still not used to their high prices.

This particular store was cleaner than the last when I was in . however I did not use the restrooms like I did in the other store I purchased a cold drink the cashier was friendly and quick

I went to the Safeway in McLean, VA. The cashiers are great but the store looks like it should be updated. No problems with the quality ir cost of food.

Most of the think they make their cake its awesome.

Robin was very helpful, but there was only expired skim milk on the shelf, and none in the freezer. Robin offered the more expensive milk, but I didnt want to spend even more money.

This store is great if you like Safeway Select brand or live within walking distance otherwise I cant understand why you would want to go here. The prices are higher than you will find at Giant and Food Lion which are also nearby.

Its an old store and just kind of blah. A little on the pricey side and they never have enough cashiers.

Its not a bad store not to expensive and grate deals with a Safeway rewards card.

Safeway was great. Joe K at the pharmacy went out of his way to help me with a prescription issue. Ive never had this personal service at a pharmacy before. I thought all of them were jerks until Joe and his coworkers helped me out. Ill be using this pharmacy as often as possible even if it means driving from Purcellville.

This is for the bakery... Bonnie did a fabulous job on the cake I ordered for my daughter. I asked her to put a cat on the cake since my daughter loves cats. I wasnt able to explain what I wanted but she did it exactly what I had in mind. I wish I can post a picture it was so cute and delicious. Everyone at the party really enjoyed it. Ill definitely be going back.

I have been going to Safeway all my life.DC, California and Virginia. This store is a very good place to shop and all they need is a slight makeover.

Friendly staff!

Not big... not flashy but clean and sale prices are great. The produce dept is so nicely organized... not vast... but so pretty and fresh. None of the depts are big but a variety of offerings still exists.

I prefer this Safeway location to the Giant that is closer on East Market Street. The Safeway is quiet and never super crowded. The selection is a bit better here than at Giant. The staff is friendly, and the deals are pretty good so long as you have one of their member cards.

This is one of the oldest groceries in Leesburg, and you can tell. I go there for soft drinks, energy drinks and tea. The pharmacy is very good with rarely any line. The meat department is.. to be avoided.

The front of the store is nice, but the rest of the store feels run down. When I visited the meat selection was so paltry it was embarrassing. The staff was nice enough but there is room for improvement.

I shop here all the time. The food is fresh, the staff is nice and I can always find great deals. Plus the gas points are great!

Nice and helpful employees in the isles, not sure how I feel about a particular male cashier that stole 10$ from me . I always check my receipt now but it will do you no good to argue and try to prove it . :(

I feel like Safeway is a grocery store chain thats probably going to fade away in the next five to ten years. The prices are higher than at Food Lion, and since its a smaller grocery store, the selection is not always as good. Plus, this Safeway in Leesburg always seems to be understaffed, so that there are long lines, even to buy just one or two things. And they havent gone to automated checkouts for customers with only a few items, either. I definitely would not recommend the pharmacy here. However, one bright spot is that their wine selection seems to be pretty extensive, if you like that kind of thing.

Purchased some pork chops.They looked good. My wife cooked them up. Thought she over cooked them Like eating raw hide. Need a saws aw to cut them. Cooked one my self to check. Toughest meat Ive ever ate. Would not feed it to my dogs. Must have come from old sick pig. Get it together Safeway. Ill never buy meat from your stores again!

Old old old and small Safeway.... Its pricey. Not a fan of the produce section and The meat section. The staff members are very sweet... This Safeway needs a MAJOR upgrade.

If you are not in a hurry and want to see what a grocery store was like in the 70s, this is the place for you. There will always be a line of 5 or 6 people regardless of how empty the store is. The store is dated and needed a refresh 10+ years ago. The one positive is the pharmacists are great, kind, knowledgable and friendly.

This place is like the Twilight Zone of grocery stores. There are always long lines to checkout and only one cashier working, and the place is kind of odd and depressing. I give two stars because its convenient (good location, open long hours) and they have a decent selection for a small store.

Store needs updating, limited meat selection today that had sell buy date that was not this weekend. Staff very friendly and extremely helpful. Good seafood choices.

Close to home, reasonable prices. Theres always someone there to help with your groceries. They even have pedestrian crossing.
