What an amazing local shop! Short story long, I was at the rehearsal dinner the night before my wedding when my brother needed to borrow my car to run to my house for something he left there.45 minutes later I got a call saying he needed a ride. Come to find out he burned up the clutch in my 2014. It still had a lot of life left in it when I let him borrow it.I called Wally and told him the story. He was able to get it towed to his shop same day. He kept me informed the entire time and gave me a best case and worst case scenario.Wally got the car fixed and under the price of what he said would be the worst case scenario. He had to replace the clutch and flywheel because of the extreme damage my brother did.Needless to say Wally saved the day and saved me some money. He is an honest business man and he and his crew really know what theyre doing.

Great team of guys, all are straight forward and no nonsense. I got to speak with everyone that was involved with working on my truck and they were all straight shooters. I have a very old 1946 vehicle and they were able to take care of my transmission, torque converter and driveshaft by a predetermined deadline. Reasonable prices, and they were in contact every step of the way.

Dont waste your time here! Took it in for trans problem told me it needed a transmission, took it to another place only need a trans solenoid. Been driving for over a year now and no problems

Fantastic service! I went to another shop and they wanted over 2 grand for transmission work. I went here for a second opinion and they were able to repair my trans for under $600. They are extremely knowledgeable and have great people working there. Dont waste time going somewhere else for transmission work. Now I only go here for all my repairs. Got my emissions done here and a tune-up. Friendly capable shop!

Dont let their name fool you. They are a full service shop. Theyve told me they do everything except for tires and body work. They do a good job at a decent price, and wont do work you dont need. What more do you want from an auto repair shop? Id recommend them to anyone!

I recently took my 1969 Plymouth RoadRunner to DuPage Transmission for a rebuild of my 50 year old 4-speed transmission. I was extremely pleased with the handling of my classic car and the car taken to insure al repairs were completed properly. Wally not only rebuilt the transmission but replaced the clutch and cracked flywheel. Additional repairs were done as he completed an inspection of the entire car. The price charged was reasonable and I was kept informed of progress as it was done. I will gladly take my car back to DuPage for work and recommend them to friends for future repairs.

Back in 2008, my transmission was slippy so I scheduled a time to bring my car in. After a couple days, I called to ask what was going on and the manager said theyd look at it by the next day. Thats 3 days that I was using a rental car. This was a scheduled appointment, not a walk in where they warned me that they were so busy that they couldnt look it for a while.They charged me the full price for the service and my transmission started slipping again 13 months later (conveniently after their 1 year warranty).

This company really cares about their customers. Not only are they fantastic at what they do, but they pay attention to detail. When I brought my car into their shop I was greeted by the owner, Wally Smith. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was in pristine shape. My car runs better than ever thanks to him. I highly recommend this company for any automobile needs.

Scott and Wally and Pete were very helpful. I am rebuilding the transmission and replacing the clutch on a 1946 Willys. They resurfaced my flywheel and gave me much helpful advice. Also, they do much more than transmission work.Well, a year later I needed more help because I didn’t do the rebuild exactly right. So, the pro team at DT bailed me out and she runs like a top!

They will take the car thru the test lane for you after the repairs are complete.

I was a pita to these guys. I wanted my trans built exactly how I wanted it. I then broke it, took it back to Wally and he did it his way, its not breaking now.

I brought my car here for a noise that could of been the transmission, it ended up being the barings. The guy working the front talked to me like I was beneath him. He seemed very annoyed to talk to me about my car.He said that they would not even be able to look at my car for a week and he told me not to go back to my regular car shop. He then called someone at a shop down the street, gave them my name and car description and told me to go straight there. I couldnt tell if he was helping me, trying to get me to go away or maybe the two shops are in it together to make money for each other. I am undecided if I will ever go back.

I wont take my car anywhere else.

Went all the way here to get my emissions test and they dont do them. Not sure why they come up every time I search for emissions test. Pretty annoying
