Easy as 1-2-3. Staff was helpful. Good prices.
There are note enough words in the English language to express how wonderful the crew is at Santa Fe Ewing location. Diane, Brittni, Chad (just to name a few) are outstanding! It’s always a fun, easy, quick, steps above the rest type of experience whether over the phone or in person! The absolutely make my job easier and our business run super smoothly! They are stand up people and company and we are being grateful to be able to partner with them in business!
Diane was wonderful. We arrived only knowing we wanted a retaining wall. She spent time explaining different styles to us and helped us figure the costs of a few different products. We purchased before leaving because Diane had helped us figure out every detail.
Tremendous supply and variety of stone, gravel, mulch. Prompt delivery and a wonderfully helpful desk staff. Just a great company for your landscaping needs!
A large and well stocked landscape supply yard, with a friendly staff. I was there to scout some materials for a small series of retaining walls, and the staff pointed me in the right direction and gave me free rein to wander around the yard. If you are a DIYer and looking for ideas, you can certainly scope things out here. The map of the yard that they provided for my self-administered tour, however, was poorly drawn and pretty confusing. Could definitely benefit from a more professional design. I had a number of questions and one of the staff people spent a fair bit of time with me, showing me different materials and discussing the needs of my project, even showing me pictures of how he had used products I was interested in in projects that he worked on. He helped me troubleshoot my own project and made very helpful suggestions. If you do want to walk around and get the lay of the land, just be very careful. It is a very active yard with large trucks coming and going and no specific way for pedestrians to navigate the yard. Youre basically just wandering among the trucks.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Quality products at great prices.
Name has changed, but still quick, easy landscape service. Drive on the scale, wait for confirmation, then load up and drive back on scale before going in to pay for materials. If loading more than one material you must get on scale before 2nd item loaded. Always helps to go in first if you need a yard map. My go to place for rock and other landscaping material!
I have a half ton truck and Ewing is the only place i found near me that dowsnt require a trailer or flatbed to load the material i needed, they also were the only place i found that didnt have a minimum as all i can hold is a half ton thats what i was charged for where others would have charged for a full ton regardless of what i can holdStaff is friedly and very helpful ill be back and will recommend them to anyone who is looking for landscape material.
Very friendly and helpful. I have been buying from this business for 20 years
Lots of people coming and going, its an Organized Mess, just be patient and youll get out alive
After buying 30 tons of rock, I had about 2+ tons that was a completely different size and color. I called several times to address the issue without a single call back. If you like to spend your time picking through all your new rock, paying for rock you don’t want AND receive terrible customer service in return, this is the place for you!
Place is amazing. You can count on Dave and the team to get you want at amazing prices! Thanks guys! On a side note.... why dont you guys sell Comand soil? Would sell like crazy, just a thought.
Remarkable customer service. Had a pallet of retaining wall blocks delivered. Wrong kind. Noticed after driver was gone. Swapped it out no questions no charge same day. Awesome!
I bought 8 tons of multi color river rock to which 1 ton had to be of dirt that was mixed in with the rock. I called the manager to complain after they had dropped the rock off. I even sent him pictures showing how bad the rock was full of dirt, he did not care one bit. It is now three months later and me and my wife are still loading wheel barrels by hand to avoid bring the dirt into the wheel barrel. I have spent over $8,000 with this company on pea gravel, fire pits, retaining walls etc and that did not seem to matter. I am beyond upset and hope this review saves somebody the hassle of going through this same issue. Worst experience of my life!!!! I will be disputing this with my CC company and filing a civil suite as well. DO NOT GO HERE
Excellent customer service and even greater selection for any job. Stephan, Jack and Freddie found me everything that I needed to complete my back patio and even helped me load it into the back of my car . They were very helpful very intelligent and friendly. I am Definitely a returning customer!!!

Great place for landscape needs, very professional kind people
The staff is awesome!! They were so professional and kind. It was really busy but all of the staff made sure they took the time to help and direct everybody with a positive attitude. We will definitely be back for all our landscaping needs. Also the heavy equipment operators really knew what they were doing. 👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Fantastic place, and the workers are so nice. It was my first time at a quarry, and they helped explain the process so it was easy. If youve never been here before and are getting rock, drive on to the scale when coming in to get a dry weight. The scale handles both directions of traffic so just wait until its clear. Honk if no one is at the window. Once you get a thumbs up that youre weighed, drive to the bin you want. There is a price list inside that you might want to grab first. A worker with a front loader will load it for you. Then just drive back onto the scale, wait for a thumbs up, then park somewhere and go inside to pay. So easy, and the people are very helpful. Good prices too. They also deliver for a fair price so Ill be contacting them soon for that. Will definitely be back again.
I am not sure about their calculation sheets. I was trying to figure out how much planters mix I would need for a project. According to their sheet, 120 sq. ft. at 2in deep would equal a yard of the dirt I wanted. According to this, for my project, I wouldve needed 7 yards. I was shopping around and on other landscaping companies sites, for the same measurements, their calculators told me I needed closer to 5 yards. I just googled a yard calculator and plugged in the dimensions there, and that also gave me about 5 yards. So I put in their sheet dimensions so 120 sq. ft. at 2in deep actually equals out to .74 yards. I am not sure if they are trying to just give a rough estimation since when they load it into a truck it isnt going to be exact, but that is very misleading and may cause people to over-order.This wasnt enough to put me off entirely, but just made me re-calculate how much I needed. But when I called to price out the materials I needed, the person who answered the phone was rude and unhelpful and didnt seem to know the answer to anything. They seemed busy, but at the same time, I am trying to decide if I would like to purchase from you or not, so if you dont have time for me, I will take my business elsewhere...Which I did.
Liked bin 20
Great staff and great selection I enjoy working with Ewing everytime I go!
Hours say that they’re open until 5pm in Saturday. While driving, I called at 4:35pm and made sure they were open. They said, “we’re open as long as the gate is open”. I pulled up at 4:44pm after driving across town only to be waved off while the guy was closing the gates. He said that they start closing up at 4:45pm. All I needed was a load of sand and instead I got my time wasted. Be honest about your hours. My business today and in the future will go elsewhere.
Got here at 8 on Sunday morning waiting 45 minutes and no one showed. I use this place all the time. 4 trucks left because they were mad. Why cant they say they dont open at 8?I have a busy day today, cant wait at this place.
Purchased firewood. Paid $200 for about 1/3 of a cord. The wood was soaking wet and a week later is still impossible to Light. Wood was not covered and allowed to just sit in rain and snow. How much of what I paid was paying for water? The lady at the front desk While not rude, had an air of arrogance. Will not buy From here again. I was in a pinch and needed some firewood. Ill go back to Craigs list where Iv always gotten a good deal and quailty dry firewood.
Website says open 8am till 2pm Sundays... need to change to closed on Sunday so people dont waste their morning driving out here and can make other plans... otherwise its a great place to get rock, sand and stone.
Best selection in the state. Hey, the link to email y’all, office @santafesand doesn’t work. I’m looking for a cost sheet and my emails keep bouncing back.
We had a miscommunication (my fault) that Ewing resolved immediately without question. They saved me!!! Great, product, delivery driver, and customer service!!!
Had a full cord of pine delivered today and it was truly a full cord and I was not short changed as I have with other craigslist listings. They go by weight, 2400 pounds, which if the wood is good and dry, gives you more than a cord. A bit pricey, but worth it I think.
I purchased 4 cubic yards of growers supreme and 2 cubic yards of planters mix for my raised bed gardens. The soil is nice and dark and looks great - similar to a denser potting mix. They called me beforehand, made sure my order was accurate, and were right on time. They delivered right where I wanted it and the quantity was exact -filled up my raised beds as measured. Great experience!
Website says call for pricing on some items. When you call the main number the staff is extremely rude and give short responses. I felt rushed when asking questions. But yet they do not list the price.
Owners responds, below, by telling me Im wrong about the color difference and says they offered to remedy - thats not true. So, now giving only 1 star. Originally, had 6 yards of mulch delivered that had an orange tint but the mulch I saw on site and ordered was brown. Called Santa Fe to see if they had any ideas or a remedy. Even something I could purchase would be fine. Was asked to send a picture and told they sell tons and never had an issue on this product before. Sent pictures and got a message back saying they didnt see the problem - sorry but thats the way it is and not much to be done - if there was anything they could do, let them know. Wasnt what that what I just did? There are a lot of ways to leave the customer feeling like they would definitely go back make more purchases even after there is a problem. But this left me feeling like I will go somewhere else next time I need landscaping materials.I am going to let the orange color fade and then buy mulch colorant to refresh and darken the color. Santa Fe says that mulch colorant will not work but we shall see. I see plenty of reviews on Amazon that say it does work, it is environmentally friendly, and it will delay how quickly I need to buy new mulch.
Buyer beware. I will never use them again and I would not recommend them to anyone. A early afternoon delivery turned into a 5 p.m. delivery with no explanation, and the driver was completely incompetent. Also beware that they charge by the hour for deliveries, something that can add up if you have a driver who doesnt have a clue and cannot operate their own equipment properly. Save yourself a lot of aggravation and just call Pioneer Sand and Gravel, where they hire professionals.
What a horrible mistake to do business with this company. Not only do the employees lack basic algebra skills to calculate a bill, they are also rude and unprofessional. I initially came in to place an order for rocks and landscaping supplies. Dave helped me out and was very friendly and efficient. He helped me packed up the items that fit in the car and the rocks would be delivered later in the week. I came home and discovered that they shorted me 4 packs of the edging pins so I had to run to the local Home Depot to purchase them in order to finish the prep work since Santa Fe Sand & Gravel was not very close to my home. I called and got the missing pieces refunded after spending a good 10 minutes explaining to them that they did not give me the right number of pins not to be confused with the fabric pins. The day before the delivery I received a phone call and I went through the bill verbally to make certain everything was in order. When the delivery person showed up he handed me the bill and it was nearly $200 over the amount I was supposed to pay. It turned out they double charged me for 3 tons of rocks. I called and talked to a gal named Brittney to try and get this corrected. She issued a refund that was less than what it was supposed to be since she somehow did the math backwards and did not calculate everything in. I called her back and tried to walk her through the whole process and get her to understand that her calculations were incorrect but she refused to listen and kept insisting she did it right and I was wrong. I finally asked to speak to the manager. We went step by step to get to the right number and sure enough, they owed me more money than what they refunded me initially. He rudely brushed me off and said they would refund the difference. Not a word of apology was ever uttered. I understand mistakes happen but good customer service is important and if you can’t agree, start from the beginning or at least listen to reason. I would definitely not recommend this place. I’m sure there are other places that can provide your landscaping needs without the attitude.
My kids bought three truck loads full of garden soil for me for my birthday. They brought it home carried it by the bucket from the truck to fill all of my raised beds. I wanted to start planting but guess what they gave the kids instead of garden dirt? PEAT MOSS! If the employees do not know what is dirt and what is peat moss why are they working there? Why are they trusted to load the trucks for the customers? My kids thought it was garden dirt since that is what they asked and paid for.
Helping you get it done! Great selection of products, competitive prices, and above all, GREAT service. In one day, I made 5 pickups here for dirt and 2 types of rock. Because of the great and quick service, was able to get it all done in one day.
Santa Fe sand and gravel get my recommendation. The sales people were very helpful and respectful helping me pick the type and quantity of gravel I needed for my backyard. The driver who delivered the material was also great,. She was able to position her truck so I didnt need to shovel the rock out of my alley and into the yard. Santa Fe will be my first choice for materials for future landscaping projects.
If you want to get ripped off, go to this place also named EWING! The employees make up their own prices, and not for the benefit of customers. I have been there three times and got three different prices for the same product. You never know what the price is going to be next time for the same thing. At least at Pioneer Sand and gravel which is only 1 mile south from this joint I get the same price every time. So that’s where I’m going from now on. Maybe charging more to pay for there office remodel?
Santa Fe Sand & Gravel went to a lot of effort to make sure a mistake made in a delivery was put right ASAP. . .in the pouring rain, even! They are very courteous and very professional. We will definitely continue to shop with them.
I have been doing business with them for years but its really upsetting when they have a management that is not as honorable as the business itself. On November 5 2018 we had an incident while they loaded my truck. I told the employees how much of the material while he accomplished his work he didnt let us know he had hit the tailgate while loading it. After paying for the material of course I left the establishment to go finish the job the material was for when I had to open the tailgate is when I found out. I talked to the supervisor Tony who was really cooperative at first and said to me what can we do about it and told me he would give me free material or if I wanted to buy a tailgate and paint it then bring him the bill and I just asked we go through the insurance to get a correct quote. Tony sent me to do an estimate at his suggested place so I went the following day. Now the body shop gives me an estimate that was going to leave the tailgate good again. The shop was cooperative and even said they worked Santa Fe Sand & Gravel for years that they have these types of incidents all the time that they would fix it no problem. After the estimate was recieved by Tony was it all went downhill. He tells me that they looked at the camera recordings and that they cant see if it happened there. I went to see them but what a coincidence that 5 minutes of the recording from when the truck was about to be loaded was gone??? Then all the sudden while talking about the recording the truck comes out of nowhere again??? If he edited the video at least do it correctly. So after all he decided to that they werent responsible. Now I give them a suggestion for their future incidents. When you show a video you are putting yourself at risk because you cant just show what you want to to your convenience. We are going to go through with legal matters and when that discovery of the recordings is asked for we will see the truth. Unless they want to say that those 5 mins are still nowhere to be found??? We would still win the case. I will put out a review of the outcome.
Called last week to see when they could deliver me some mulch, was told Friday morning. Went out to store and picked what type I wanted and confirmed Friday morning delivery. Called them on Friday at 11 am to see if they could tell me a time frame for delivery as I had a few things to do. Was told I was the next delivery, at 3.30 I called them again to see what the heck was taking so long. Guy on phone said Let me check with dispatch and Ill call you right back. Never heard from anyone. Cant get any worse service than that.
Even on a busy Sunday, the staff in the sales office were upbeat and helpful. I had my order the next day, and the driver was also very warm and professional. Overall, great experience and will return for my landscaping needs. Thanks!
Excellent. Picked up big load of firewood. Good price, easy access. Considerate staff.
I have been working with Santa Fe sand and gravel for 20 years. They are one of the finest companies in Colorado. They treat both their customers and employees well. They treat the small home owner like they are every bit as important as the large landscapers.
Love these guys for firewood. I used the Craigslist delivery guys for years and had nothing but bad luck and wet wood. They usually have 3 choices, pine, pinion, and oak. Also they will happily load with the tractor if you ask with a smile and re-weigh 3 times for each wood type. Thanks!
I just bought a cord of firewood from Santa Fe sand and gravel this week. Everyone I talked to was friendly and helpful. The price was competitive and the quality of the wood is good. I recommend them highly.
Seriously fantastic service! From the sales desk to the delivery, these guys were great! The prices and turn around were also very good. We may have to find new space for gravel just to work with them again.
Beautiful rocks for affordable price. Thank you!
I have dealt with Santa Fe Sand & Gravel many times over the past year. I have always found them to be a great company. I was always approached very soon after driving to the bin where the product I needed was and the guys in the loaders were always polite. Great company to work with.
Been to a lot of other rock/dirt companies in the area and this one by far has the best prices but I feel the quality on their rocks arent quite the same as others. Really just a hit and miss on some stuff. If they have what Im looking for, they have started to become my first choice! Plus the staff here is one of the only ones in the Denver area that is friendly!
I went in there, looked the associate in the eye, and asked if the rock load would be pure rocks without dirt mixed in. I told her my children and I would be spreading it, and dirt mixes in like an earlier review stated, would be a hardship for us. The load was apeedily delivered. There was quite a bit of gravel mixed in. The price was 20% over what I had stated I was comfortable with and been quoted. They did call me and refund the overage within the hour. I tried to have a good attitude about the gravel mixed in to the boulders. We spent over 20 man - hours hand picking cobbles out of the gravel, another 6 man- hours cleaning the 100 gallons + >12 full wheelbarrows of gravel out of the street. I estimate we received well over 1 ton of gravel on a 5 ton cobble order. I am ready to file a BBB complaint as well as contactthe city of Littleton. They literally lied and screwed over a woman working with kids for an extra $80 which they refunded anyway. The worst part is that if we had received instead an equivalent amount of cobbles as ordered, we would have completed the job two days earlier . We spent two days cleaning the gravel out of the street and finding corners of the yard to dump it in, and we didnt have the cobbles to finish the job. While the people may not be evil, they are too busy to do their job well. Go somewhere else. Jensen had equivalent prices. This place is too busy to care about what they are doing. It was pretty bad cleaning up after them.
I requested top soil and it was filled with rocks and broken glass. Terrible customer service.
I always come here to get firewood. They normally have a few different kinds and easy to weigh in and weigh out.
Since this place turned into Ewing Lanscape Supply its been all downhill. The quality of products has definitely gotten worse. This place is also a circus. It can easily take 45 minutes to an hour to get in and out...dump trucks parked everywhere blocking bins, materials spilled across the drive lanes, zero coordination happening here. Prices are ok if you get what you are actually after.
Excellent staff and great service. I really enjoy working with them on my projects.
Its nice to have a landscape supply company actually sell to the home owner. Very helpful and nice people.
Helpful staff! Very affordable supplies too. Definitely our go-to place for landscaping materials!!!
Well organized and simple for the regular home owner looking to get a project done with knowledgeable and friendly staff. Large operations to small they will get you set up.
Still closed at noon on a Sunday when they are supposed to open at 8. Just lost my business permanently. I have stuff to do
Chad helped out tremendously, great employee. Very informative.
I have been using their services for about 3 years. Prior to, I was using one of their competitors and am so grateful that I learned of Santa Fe Sand and Gravel. Every time that I visit or call they are pleasant and helpful. The staff in the office is great. I use their services about 20 times per year for mulch, sand, planters mix, pavers, edging and fabric needs. I just wish they were open later. Thanks Santa fe Sand And Gravel.
Was able to do a rock landscaping project for less than expected, delivered next day.
I like working with the people there as well as the pricing is typically better than their competitors
Great place lovely employees. Always worry about the customer and their needs
Great customer service and great prices
Great place to search for exactly what you are looking for Bulk pickup or delivery.
Yes customer service may sound rough at times (these folks never stop working), but quality and delivery exceed all expectations.
Very poor customer service. Lady at the service desk was very rude and impatient. Delivery was 1.5 hours late. Would not recommend this company.
Santa Fe sand and gravel has always been helpful and fair pricedPer father and son towing
Friendly and helpful staff. The had samples out that you could look at and a few you could take home (rubber mulch).
I was looking for firewood and they went above and beyond to help me. They texted me photos of what they had and reserved it for me.
Trash
Ive been coming here for many years..and it is just as wonderful today!!
Selection and availability pretty nice, prices just OK.
Friendly, great selection and prices!
Super nice, very knowledgeable and the prices are competitive!
Best prices and selection
They got a new computer system, so it was a little slow.
Super friendly service!
