When I first walked into the shop, we were quickly notified that their piercer (Brett) wouldn’t be back for almost a week. I was happy to wait and wasn’t expecting a message from him until the day I was told he’d be back. He messaged me a couple days later while on his vacation, which I thought was awesome. He made sure he knew exactly what I wanted. He was super nice, hilarious, and informative. Everything was clean and super professional yet down to earth and I felt very comfortable. Will definitely be visiting again in the future!

My wife and I went to Ben for our tattoos.Ben was 100% a professional, we told him our idea and the whole time he was just stoked for us. He redrew what we wanted multiple times and was patient as we contemplated options, etc. this was our first tattooo so it was a big deal for us and he hit it out of the park.The tattoos look incredible, he was thorough, took his time, answered all our questions, etc. I wouldn’t go to anyone else after having this experience. Truly fantastic!

A friend referred me to 1896 for my first tattoo. I had been planning out a quarter sleeve and some other minor pieces. Nathans work was beautiful!! I was impressed with both how quickly he was able to work on the art piece and I cant stop staring at how high quality it is day after day. All the rest of my pieces will now be done here. Extremely high quality place. Attached are the inner arm pieces done by Nathan.

Best place in town for tattoos! The shop is clean and the folks are top-notch. Nate, Ben, and Lily may have different styles but their No. 1 priority is making sure that you leave feeling excited about your tattoo. They take the time to make sure that your design is perfect before they start. They always demonstrate exceptional professionalism and skill. Lily has done three tatts for me so far and both Nate and Ben have consulted over a design to breathe new life into one of my older tattoos. I will definitely be going back to let Lily stick me some more. Novice to hardcore....they cater to everyone!

I’ve got over 20 hours of work done at 1896. It’s a great atmosphere with friendly conversation and incredibly talented artists. Ben is working with me on my sleeve right now and is always very careful and precise, and blows my mind with every progressing session. Nate has over 10 years of tattooing under his belt and always works with you sleeplessly to make sure you’re taken care of with the best quality tattoo at the fairest price. Ben even bought me coffee once! I recommend 1896 to everyone I know.I drive up from Salt Lake to get tattooed there because I know they’re going to treat me the best and will care about my tattoo the most.

If youre looking for a piercing, 1896 is the place to go! Brett is professional, friendly, and full of helpful advice when it comes to piercings. 90% of my piercings have been done by him, and I wouldnt recommend any other place!

Ive gotten about 8 tattoos from lily so far and every time I come in she makes me feel so excited and relaxed about the whole experience. Shes such a funny lil lady and her talent to create beautiful works of art gets better and better every time. I would recommend her to anyone

Do not go here to get your helix pierced. He pierced mine with a lip ring so tight that it embedded itself in my skin and gave me a permanent deformity on my ear. The lip ring was so impossible to remove from my ear that I had to have my dentist use his drill to get it off. So ridiculously priced might I add, it cost me $80. I will be asking for my money back.

Horrible experience. The guy that booked my appointment was super friendly and helpful, so when I went to this tattoo shop for the first time I felt extremely comfortable and was happy with my decision to go here for my tattoo. However, the guy that actually did my tattoo was extremely rude. He brought up an extremely controversial topic that we both had very strong opinions and viewpoints on, and it was something I had no interest in talking about with him, especially with someone I just met. I tried to change the subject MULTIPLE times, but he just kept egging on the conversation, almost to the point that I was about to walk out of the shop mid-session. I went in to his shop hoping to leave just as happy and giddy as I was before I went, but I just left exhausted and just happy to be out of that shop. I thought he did a pretty good job on my tattoo, until after it healed I realized there was a lot of blow out around my tattoo. I think its important to go somewhere where youll feel comfortable to get a tattoo, and I didnt feel that way. I do regret getting this tattoo because it reminds me of the whole experience.

I was a little apprehensive for my first tattoo, but Lily Gustave took all the stress away. I asked for a dandelion in full color and realism and she blew me away. I would definitely recommend Lily as shes a very versatile artist!

Nate created the perfect tattoo for me. I told him everything I wanted and he exceeded my expectations. I even messed up when I told him the quote that I wanted and he fixed it without making me feel like a dumbass. I was super nervous and tense during the first session but he helped me focus more on my breathing and made sure I was as comfortable as possible. The following three sessions were awesome because I knew exactly what I was walking into. Its been about 4 years and I still love it. Since then Ive sent a handful of people there for tattoos and piercings and everyone comes back telling me how great of an experience they had. Also, during one of the sessions, there was a couple getting tattooed by Ben and I just have to say, that man has A LOT of patience!

I went in for a headache piercing. Left with a nose and an ear piercing, and not where I thought I needed it. Artist sat and masaged my ears while we talked, he hit a spot that cut the headache I had, so we pierced there. Great place, clean, patient, so kind. Going again with my daughter this time!
