We had them install two new garage doors for us last winter and were very pleased with their service at that time. Last week when I was having trouble with my opener, I called John to see if he could come out and take a look. Even though they did not install our opener, he came out right away, spent about an hour looking things over and fixing it for me and didnt charge me a dime. Hes very knowledgeable and went above and beyond for us.

My Moms garage door opener went out late Monday afternoon. We called the company we usually use and they were very busy and couldnt come out until possibly Thursday. Unfortunately she has medical issues and needs her garage door functional to allow the people that help her to come and go. I called John from Barrett on Tuesday morning and he came by within an hour and was back later that afternoon and replaced the whole system. She was back up and running that same day! Wonderful service!!!

Offered to come out same day, unfortunately timing didnt work out for us so they came the very next day! Kevin was super knowledgeable and informed us that the way our door was installed was very dangerous for the size. He was able to convert our opening mechanism and it has never worked better!! It also used to make a terrible loud noise when opening and closing and now its so quiet!! I cannot belive we waited so long to have it repaired! Thank you!

I found Barrett on Groupon and saw high Yelp and Google reviews. I was not disappointed is an understatement. I called on a Friday morning and was able to get an appointment at noon the same day! Eddie called to confirm on his way to my house. He was very polite, respectful, and thorough in his explanation of what he would do with the garage door maintenance. He was done in about 30 minutes, showed me what hed done and had me open and close the door; which now sounded brand new. They have my business and recommendation from here on out.

Ill preface this by saying that I am in no way affiliated to this company or its owner. I called Barrett to get a second-opinion on my broken garage door opener after a negative experience with another local company. I dont want to badmouth that company, but if you look you can find my review of that company which is also a 5-ish star rated, local Elmhurst company.The tech for that company pressed the opener button once and never even got up on a ladder to look at anything on the unit. Within half a second he happily said, yep, its dead and began spewing out info about my $400+ options for a new opener.Like I said, I called Barrett for a second-opinion. From the get-go John was very nice and patient with all of my questions. He said that my model is very repairable and that it sounded like a circuit board - not that I needed a new opener and those are only about $100! He came out within a couple hours, as well.He opened the unit, made some calls, ran and got a few parts, and as he was troubleshooting and working on connecting new parts he saw that one of the wires to the capacitor was disconnected. He connected it and just like that it worked! So no new $400+ opener, not even a new $100 circuit board....nothing, just a loose wire!! He literally didnt sell me anything!!He fixed the wire, made a few adjustments to the door track (he noticed the wheel was grinding), oiled everything and was on his way. I paid the trip charge and that was all! Great service, nice guy, not pushy or arrogant. I will use him again and recommend him to anyone that asks.
