Richardo the optician, was lovely and very helpful an only charged a small fee for dmv test n put it right into the computer for me. Jennifer, the young woman in the front also was very helpful and pleasant. I will def use this place again . Highly recommend.

I’ve been needing new glasses for a while, and I knew I came to the right place the minute I walked into Sterling Optical in Lynbrook. Rinaldo, Abigail and Chelsea were extremely friendly, helpful and great with fashion advice. I found the perfect pair of glasses and sunglasses that framed my face beautifully! They even resized them to make sure they fit my face perfectly! My eye exam was quick and smooth and the doctor was friendly and easy to talk with. I highly recommend anyone needing glasses to come here!

I came back to Sterling Optical Lynbrook for my yearly exam because of my positive experience last year. They answer the phone right away to answer questions, and Ive always been seen promptly by the eye doctor. They are very friendly and are willing to go the extra mile to ensure that you leave their office fully satisfied with services received and purchases made.

I’m really disgusted with the man who runs this place. It’s a shame because I thought they were all nice and helpful when we went in for our eye exam. But the truth is, that Ronaldo is just a savvy business man and not all that genuine. His attitude and demeanor completely changed when my husband chose to get his contact lenses from 1-800-contacts instead of Sterling Optical. Ronaldo goes “you’re going behind my back and ordering from 1-800-contacts?” As if we did something wrong. We paid for our eye exams through his business, we bought glasses and my husband spent almost $400 on upgraded lenses and now Ronaldo won’t send my husband his contact prescription out of pure spite. He sent the wrong prescription, then my husband called back twice and I called once, and then Ronaldo proceeded to send his glasses prescription but not his contact lenses one.Ronaldo, newsflash, he doesn’t need to get his contact lenses through you! We supported your business by getting our eye exam there and buying our glasses there. AND GUESS WHAT? we won’t be back. You lost two life long customers, I deleted my positive review AND we won’t refer our family and friends to you. Also, this could be a potential lawsuit because you’re refusing to give us our health records after we paid for our exams there.

Abigail and Rinaldo were amazing and were very helpful, kind, and courteous. It was my first time and they explained everything in detail to me and really made me understand the type of lenses I would be getting. The eye doctor was also extremely nice, thorough, and knowledgeable on the eye exam he performed on me. I didnt know how much a different glasses would make until he showed me different prescriptions, and wow what a different it made for seeing far.Definitely recommend them!!

They know me by Yuri Lopez. I visited this optical a little bit over a month. At first I gave them a bad review. I have to give them a 5 now. Rinaldo took ownership and helped me with the issue I had with them before. Will definitely recommend this place. Yes I had a bad experience at first but to see them doing their best to helped me, means a lot to me. My experience with them now was excellent.

I love this place. I decided to come here after getting a very large cost for lens at another place. I liked their customer service right away. Everyone is friendly and don’t charge you for every little thing. By the way the cost for my new lens with them was $300 less than the place I walked away from. They calculate every charge based on your insurance in front of you.I came back a week later to get trial contacts. Rinaldo was patient with me while I tried to figure out how to insert and remove contacts. Abigail was at the front and was also very pleasant.Will go back there from now on

Really frustrating experience. The first time we went in, they quoted us a special price on an exam plus a years worth of lenses, so we made appointments. When we came back for the appointments and went to pay, they charged us almost triple that, and denied the original quote. Even more aggravating: my daughters appointment was several weeks before an overseas trip and she made a point of ascertaining that her lenses would be in before she left, which they said they would. They were not. So we got them another ride, as a favor from a friend, over a week later, and theyre STILL not in. Now my kid is stuck abroad with only one set of lenses because of their either dishonesty or incompetence. Definitely do not recommend.

When I need eye care this optical ranks amongst the best. The workers at this location are very attentive and makes sure you receive the very best service, they go out their way to make you feel comfortable and to help you in anyway possible.

The eye doctor was friendly and very thorough, giving me a proper and sufficient eye examination. I have the best experience coming to Sterling. The doctors take the time to explain what they are doing during the exam. The ladies behind the counter are crazy smart, super friendly and most importantly know their jobs very well. Last but not least are Arson and Reynaldo. Both of these gentlemen are hands down excellent representation of what customer service is!! If you were ever in doubt about going to this location, don’t be. Yesterday - within a 4 hour time frame.. I got my eyes examined (thoroughly by Dr. Fuchs - VERY kind man), Jalene broke numbers down with me and made sure i was fitted well for my glasses, and Arsen picked out the perfect frame for me on the first try! They are a great team! I will absolutely be back and will bring my husband to get his next pair too. Best part, to be honest, I didnt feel rushed (during the exam, or while shopping for my frames). Dr. Fuchs let explain my issues, observations and gave me great feedback. Jalene (I hope Im spelling her name right) explained the difference between all the options they have (coating, crizal, etc.) patiently and in detail.

Awesome. I walked in for a pair of glasses, ended up with 3 pairs and contact lenses. Just really appreciated the personalized, thoughtful service. Planned to get more pairs and, based on the customer service, I wanted to support the store as much as I could. Shout out to Abigail and Rinaldo who helped me. Regarding the doctor, I really preferred Dr. Fuchs. I had to see the other doc for a follow up and didnt find him very personable and he was cocky. Off-putting but he was only there one of the times I was at the store. Everything else, wonderful!

Today went to Sterling in Lynbrook to get a pin replaced. The entire staff was welcoming & eager to help me. Even before the optometrist came staff members tried to fix it. Left my glasses there & returned 30 minutes later to find them fixed. They did not charge me. I highly recommend this branch.

The staff at the Lynbrook location were very helpful and accommodating when I picked out a new set of glasses. Abigail had a good eye at picking out frames and ensured that the measurements for my astigmatism were correct. Rinaldo also verified that the measurements of the pupils were correct and adjusted the glasses that I wore to the store that day that had been badly bent out of shape. When I picked up my glasses everything was perfect. My wife thought my glasses looked great as well. I highly recommend this store for its excellent customer service.

Let me tell you guys this place is practically family. They will literally take care of you! My brother recommended I go here since he loves to rave about this location and I’m glad I did. I went In yesterday for an eye exam and new glasses within minutes I saw the eye doctor. The doctor was amazing and was explaining everything to me which made me comfortable. I had jayleen and Arden help me pick out glasses and some sunglasses. These two hands down were the best !! They explained what insurance covered and broke everything down for me to understand . I had a great experience at Sterling Optical! The service was very nice and friendly and the manager, Arson, was very helpful and explained to me how the process would work and how to use the Groupon that I found for a contact exam and trial. Dr. Fuchs was very thorough and explained the different parts of the testing to me. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait depending what time of day you go, but I’m a patient person, so it isn’t a big deal to me. I am happy I chose to go to Sterling Optical for my vision needs since I’m practically blind as a bat without glasses or contacts. I definitely plan on going back to Sterling Optical for future eye exams! What a great find.

I called earlier today for a quick glasses repair. The person I spoke with on the phone was informative and helpful in letting me know the optometrist wouldnt be in until 1 but I could walk in and they would take care of the issue. Despite some negative reviews, my experience with this store has been great. Sure there are some issues with any establishment, but Mark and Julia went above and beyond to make sure I was a happy customer. I purchased glasses for my son and myself. We needed some corrections and they were very considerate in making sure we were satisfied.

Just wanted to find an open eyeglass store during this quarantine and this place was open. The owner didnt even charge me for the eye exam (for drivers license). Good dude.

Arsen is the new manager at this location and I can honestly say it was an extremely pleasurable experience in the store. Before with the previous owners everything seemed disorganized and kinda strange the way they ran the business but this new gentleman is honest, witty, and very customer oriented and am glad he took over. Due to a health insurance change I had to use vision providers in-network and chose this store because of its short distance from my home. What a huge mistake. After my eye exam I began looking at frames and immediately noticed their high prices ($200-$500+), but figured they were probably priced up so that a discount or coupon will be applied at checkout (like many retailers do to give customers the sense of being given a huge price cut). And of course this was the case with my chosen $500 frames. Saleswoman (Julia, I think), said shed do me the favor of giving me the 50% off sale that was effective the week before and charged me $212 for the frames. Now let me pause here to say that I am fortunate to have good vision insurance; and let me further state that Im a trusting person. Perhaps foolishly so, because when Im charged $212 plus another $346 for lenses I automatically think my insurance allowance will be deducted. When it isnt I ask the saleswoman why not. In broken English she says shes already given me a discount and cannot charge insurance, that I instead will get the benefit. Not one to make a person more uncomfortable who clearly is having difficulty communicating in English, I take what she tells me at face value and expect payment from my insurance. To make a long and arduous story short, Sterling Optical in Lynbrook not only took my $568 but also filed an insurance claim for payment and received an extra $442, (AND tried to give me damaged lenses when glasses were ready). Thank goodness I paid for glasses with a credit card and was refunded all of my money. Whatever you do, avoid this merchant for vision wear at all costs.

Ok so Im usually so nervous going to get my eyes checked (lol childhood trauma, dont ask) but the service here is awesome!! The doctor (forgot his name, very kind older man) was incredibly patient and thorough. And when it comes to prices, I could just tell they were not trying to rip me off right away. Not to mention this store is OPEN during the quarantine, and they were still not tryna rip me off. Went to check a few other stores on the block but they were closed. This spot is clean and looks new too. Love my new frames! This is my eyeglass spot now. Go here!!

My family any I have been going here for over 10 years. While the prices arent the cheapest around, the customer service is over the top! The ladies really go out of their way to satisfy customers. I came here a couple of months ago got a great pair of glasses Dolce & Gabbana with transitions Crizal Lenses they were great then something happened and the lenses had some defect I called arson he told me not a problem theyre on the warranty replace them without a problem without a hitch no charge would definitely recommend definitely coming back

The Dr. Was terrific but the service getting contacts etc was horrible. Store does not open on time always late. Ordered wrong contacts, then waited for correct ones. Stopped by s vernal times then I was told they were on back order. Going on vacation without contacts. No apologies, very rude.

Went there on a Wed. morning to get new lenses and frames from a prescription my Dr. gave me. The woman who helped me was extremely polite, quite knowledgeable and very professional. I am just sorry I did not get her name to thank her in this post. Prices were a little high, but mostly that was due to the fact I had to get progressive lenses. Otherwise the frames were very reasonably priced. Like I said, went there on a Wed. morning and I had my glasses by Sunday morning. So, it was not too long of a wait at all. It probably would have been sooner if they were just regular lenses instead of the progressive ones. I definitely would go back again so I would give it my recommendation...

I normally never write reviews but the service really exceeded all my expectations and so I felt it needs to be acknowledged. I’ve been wearing glasses for years and so I have had my share of experiences at many optical stores and went to check this one out because it was recommended by a close friend and I knew I was due for an eye exam. Dr. Fuchs was friendly, knowledgable and thorough and available on Sunday which was perfect for my schedule. My prescription changed and so I needed a new pair of glasses. The new manager Arsen helped me pick out a pair of glasses I really loved, he was very attentive, witty, and patient (I definitely took some time to find the perfect pair for me). He was able to get the glasses ready for me much sooner than I expected, and I’ve been getting compliments on these glasses all the time. I tell everyone to go and see Arsen at the store, he really works with you and makes sure you are happy from beginning to end. Thank you Arsen and Dr. Fuchs! A+ service !

Charged me 35 for absolutely nothing, and very high price range.If you are looking for good quality glasses, go to American Vision next door.I was charged 35 for an eye exam, which already had been covered. I was told months later by an American Vision employee that I needed to get a refunded. Never going again.

I was in the neighborhood and my sunglasses screws started to come loose. The awesome folks at Sterling Optical took them off my hands, asked me to grab a coffee and come back. They repaired the bent arm and tightened the screws. I was prepared to pay for their services but they graciously declined any payment.Next time Im buying glasses, I know where Im going!

I went for prescriptions to buy contact lenses. The doctor doing my eye exam was nice. However, staff members had a bad attitude. They got my name spelt wrong on my prescription which I did not notice until I came home and when I called them about it, they did not even say sorry, would not fax or email, and hung up on me rudely after demanding me to pick it up myself. I will not go back for any more business.

I was also a patient with Dr. Kaplan for over 20 years and was sorry to see him retire. I decided to stay with the current optometrists and have been very pleased. The doctors are very professional and kind.

I took a wrong train from penn station and somehow ended up in lynbrook. Went into sterling optical just to ask for a phone to call for a ride, but once i got to know Arsen, he not only provided with a phone to call home, he also fixed my glasses free of charge. I stumbled on the place by accident, but I will now be a lifelong customer.

I was unsure about this place as its new and doesnt have many reviews. But so many of the other glasses shops around have countless suspicious 5-star ratings, which feel like poorly veiled shilling by the owners. Seriously, whats with that? So, fewer reviews may be a plus. Had a great experience. Took my daughter for a walk-in exam ($75, or $50 if you buy glasses), and got her some new lenses for her glasses. The total was less than I thought--no aggressive upselling--and the optometrist and other folks there were nice to deal with. Ill be back.

I went for my eye exam in late 2014. I really liked the doctor who did the exam, but thats the only good thing I have to say about this place. The people selling me contacts / glasses were pushy and not really interested in listening. I didnt go back for my next exam.

The dont even deserve 1 star. Very rude and disrespectful. I called and received information only to drive 45 mins to a place that dont follow on the information given. The guy was very unprofessional and does not to be in a position where he deals with people to be spoken in that manner. False information given just to get money.

I had a scheduled appointment and although the service was nice friendly and welcoming, it was unorganized; in a way that there were walk ins and appoints were taken as first come first served. I didnt think it was right. The glasses were not as stylish as I originally thought. When inquired about a groupon deal, i would only save $10 after spending $39 with my insurance in place. The facility was clean and inviting only thing that was bottled water.

I was going there for years and then Dr. Kaplan retired and all the prices went up dramatically. It took me over 3 years to realize they were never putting any claims through to my insurance so I was paying as if i didnt have any insurance! $250 for 6 months worth of contacts! Ridiculous! They are crooks!

I broke three pair of frames and two were absolutely my fault and only one was only maybe my fault, but they fixed them all for free. One of the ones they fixed I had bought three years ago and they still helped me out.

I absolutely love that they have young & stylish glasses, all of their collections are up to date with the latest trends which makes picking out glasses a lot easier for me at least.

The turn around for glasses is very quick highly recommend, wont go anywhere else.

Let me start by saying i came in here because the surrounding locations had a horrible selection of generic cheap quality frames. This store had Prada versace feragamo all made in italy etc.. I dont have any vision insurance but julia gave me a great store deal, she sold me a feragamo frame for only $200 (she gave me $150 off this frame) and she gave me a FREE versace frame and all i had to do was pay for the prescription lens. I also wanted anti glare on both of them but i was only able to afford it on one but she gave me the coating for free on my second frame and i couldnt be more grateful. I will forever come back to this store after the exceptional customer service and how great the glasses came out to be.I basically saved over $400 and got the exact brand name frames i wanted, not to mention i got my glasses very quick (2 DAYS)

Id give them zero stars if possible. Extremely rude and dishonest, worst part is the glass frames they sell fall apart so you cant just walk away. You have to continue to fight for new frames until you finally give up. Youve been warned

I dont have any vision insurance but julia gave me a great store deal, she sold me a feragamo frame for only $200 (she gave me $150 off this frame) and she gave me a FREE versace frame and all i had to do was pay for the prescription lens. I also wanted anti glare on both of them but i was only able to afford it on one but she gave me the coating for free on my second frame and i couldnt be more grateful. I will forever come back to this store after the exceptional customer service and how great the glasses came out to be.I basically saved over $400 and got the exact brand name frames i wanted, not to mention i got my glasses very quick (2 DAYS)

I had a horrible experience at this place. They were extremely rude and refused service to me . Never go there!

Eye doctor examined me and gave me wrong prescription. He missed prism that i needed for double vision.WASte of time and money. I told him i had double vision and he ignored this key vision problem.

The services was horrible. Lost 2customersAfter spending over 400.00 on glasses we got a dirty use eye glass clothe and a case to small for the glasses. When i called to let Mark know he hung up on me. I just speakingon the one in lynbrook.

Very poor and arrogant. Selection stinks and the staff was very cold..NEVER AGAIN!!
