Extremely nice. Fixed a flat for me in an hour and. My girlfriend went there with a similar issue and the mechanic immediately helped her. Would highly recommend
Took more than 6 visits to get all fixed. Absolutely terrible. Check engine light popped back on immediately. Asked them to check over the entire car yet by the time I got down the street rear brakes were grinding. 3 more visits to properly fix rear brakes including one because they forgot to hook in the emergency brake. SERIOUSLY????🤨 Supposedly changed oil but light popped back on and Valvoline said no oil change was done. 3 months later check engine light is on and I’m told my engine is damaged by what was done. Terrible job
It’s hard to write this review because the staff at Pine Banks Auto was so friendly, and in that way they were great to deal with. But the result of taking our car there was unfortunate. We were pretty sure our car had an issue with a wheel bearing due to a noise it made while driving. Pine Banks Auto agreed that this seemed like the issue and replaced both front wheel bearings. When this repair didn’t solve the problem, they insisted it wasn’t the bearings after all, and they apologized and said they were stumped. They recommended trying to change the front tires and wished us good luck. We took a chance and changed the front tires elsewhere, but the problem persisted. Reluctantly, we took it to the dealership and told them we were assured it was NOT an issue with the wheel bearings. After they fiddled around with other possibilities they told us they were sure that the issue was still with a wheel bearing despite what we’d been told. The dealership replaced the right front wheel bearing (again) and the noise finally stopped. About a month later, the ABS & traction control lights came on in our car. We took it to another mechanic. Turns out the left front wheel bearing (replaced at Pine Banks) had somehow broken the ABS sensor. We had to replace the sensor and have the wheel bearing replaced yet again. All-in-all, our trip to Pine Banks Auto led us on visits to three additional mechanics for well over $1,000 of additional work. I don’t know what happened when they replaced our front bearings, but it created quite the headache. I see based on reviews that my experience isn’t the norm and I hope it was just the result of an “off day” because they truly were very nice in demeanor.
These guys are great!
Pine banks auto has a customer for life! They have stood by their work and free of charge replaced break parts when they didn’t perform 100%. They are fast with their work and my goodness they are honest! I had a “door open” light on my dash board that was broken for years. This drained my battery regularly. I was quoted many different prices upwards of $400 for this to be fixed. Pine banks auto not only fixed it quickly but did so only $25!!!! When I say customer for life I mean it. I can’t say enough to show how happy I am with this service.
The guys at this shop are amazing! Easily the best experience Ive ever had at a garage; truly the nicest, fairest, and best quality work in all of Boston.
Great place to bring your car or truck 4 repairs been going here for over 30 years...
Not sure if this was typical, but my one time experience was not as smooth as anybody would prefer it to be. Its nothing big though, so 3/5.We simply needed to change a part in our car. Its already charging 3 times as much as you would spend buying it yourself, but all auto shop profit from parts, so we were happy to go along, just wanted to get it fixed quickly. And it was. Dont see any problem with their work so far. But then we found out the tiny discount they promised was not added and the part got a bit more expensive than the quote. Obviously they said “it’s not that different... there is nothing I can do on that now...” It was not much more that we had to pay, but it didnt feel good.
Excellent
Hands down the most honest mechanic Ive ever met. Bob will tell you what needs to be done without trying to juice you on things you dont.
Best
Saved me on a trip from Vermont.Drive shaft broke on the way to a Bo-Sox game, didnt know what to do, we were 3 hours from home and didnt know the area. We rolled into Bobs shop hoping that he would have time to look at it. He instantly gives us a game plan and managed to get the car done day of! Super helpful, very nice, worked with us to get us home! Thanks so much guys!
