I recently purchased a used J/100 from broker Michael Beers and then worked with yard manager Grant Vogt to get her ready for the trip via water down to NJ. The level of professionalism, attention to detail, and knowledgeable insights from both gentlemen was impressive and proved extremely valuable. Don’t be put off by the understated manner of folks at McMichaels. They seriously know what they are doing. From start to finish they always delivered what they promised (or more), on time, with no surprises. Ive bought eight new boats over the years so I ought to know. This organization operates as a team, with nearly flawless handoff from sales, to commissioning, to after sales. The commissioning orientation was incredible -- a whole day of an experts time, and the after sales support is excellent. Everyone Ive dealt with at McMichaels, without exception, has been great. During the commissioning, even the fellow who was putting on the barrier coat stopped to explain the evolution of barrier coat technology since the 1950s. He obviously knew his stuff - and loved his job.One of the advantages is that these guys are boaters themselves. Its what they do in their time off. In my opinion, if youre going to spend money on a discretionary item like a boat you ought to have fun doing it. Our broker, John Glynn, the customer service manager, Peter McKenzie, and everyone else weve met at McMichaels, understands that.

Extremely poor service especially from Todd Williams. I would not recommend using this broker to sell your boat. They did not return calls, did very little to promote the sale of the boats and misrepresented us to the potential buyers when they finally found someone. We were extremely dissatisfied with their service and will never have anything to do with this company again.
