This place is awesome! I came here recently to buy my very first guitar and they were very nice and informative. They have a great knowledge of instruments and many of my friends have even purchased instruments from them before. I havent been to many music stores, but this has got to be one of the best in Manteca!

Came in and talked to a man about guitars and pedals, he was very friendly and informative. I would go back any day just to talk to him. He gave me his attention even when other customers came in and made sure to finish my transaction before dealing with them fully.

Very large selection of accessories such as music stands, amps, strings drum heads, sheet music.....The store owners also offer in house repairs and tune ups, heavy focus on stringed instruments. All at reasonable / affordable costs with a quick turn around time. I have purchased instruments (Guitar) from them in the past as well as having all of my guitars serviced / repaired by them.The have music instruction and studios in house as well.Street parking as well as a parking area on the back side of the building, easy access.They do have a web site

This is a friendly, local, family owned music shop. I believe they have been in business there for a little over 50 years and they are a fixture in the community. Frequent them. They deserve it.

Really nice I bought a lot of stuff there

Ive been to this shop doezens of times in my life. Growing up in Manteca this was my only option until I started driving. Everything is overpriced, which is expected from smaller shops, but the service has never made up for that. Im ok spending a few bucks more if the staff showed value by making my experience better. Ive been treated poorly on many occasions by the owners. Talking down to me, condescending statements, poor body language. As a music enthusiast I hate to see this. A music shop should be a fun, welcoming place.

Rude, dishonest, and unprofessional. They have been rude to customers for years and I never believed it until experiencing it first hand. They have a terrible work ethic, with no sense of urgency. Janis music does not honor their word. If you have a choice, go anywhere else, like Legend Music. Unless you enjoy being treated poorly, then Janis is the place for you.

My ukulele was broken, so I searched up a place to repair it and Janis Music Co. came up. I went in for only estimates of how much it would cost, and to my surprise, he fixed my uke, tuned it, and didnt charge me for the repair. As an avid ukulele player, I thank whoever it was that fixed it for FREE! Mahalo!
