Earth-friendly, world-peace, coffee-rocks place that serves delicious Rileys coffee, sandwiches and a small selection of baked goods. Feel free to pull out one of their books and read, visit with friends, make new ones, or plop down by the window with your laptop. I was not there at the time, but I understand they regularly have life music.

Always love the coffee. The food is excellent, a tasty surprise and always an original. The fall special is Chilli and it’s excellent. The flavor harkens to traditional but it’s full of originality. Come by you’ll enjoy the laid back atmosphere without any pretentiousness. You’ll just enjoy.

My husband and I used to frequent this place when we lived around the corner. The coffee is average but their matcha latte and chai lattes were delicious. My biggest complaint is how pretentious the owner is. She comes off really fake and rude with the whole “I’m better than you” attitude.

First time was this past Saturday. Purchased an americano and a cold brew. Both had a delicious taste. Its been a while since Ive been at a coffee shop and Im glad I broke that with this coffee. So good. The space is eclectic and really fun to look at the art. There is plenty of seating indoor and outdoor, with books available for perusing. There was live music that made the visit even better. Spent hours there reading a book and enjoying the music and fellow patrons. A very quirky atmosphere with great coffee and food. Will go back.

Had to stop here before I finished my visit to the wonderful city of St Louis. Loved the rich inner and outer decor, the stone spiral with a Biden/Harris sign in the middle, friendly staff, scrumptious fresh baked pain au chocolat, and great double espresso. There is as nice park across the street and plenty of easy parking. Bon appetit!

In response to the open star review, I agree completely! This is an over priced dive coffee shop that caters to white Maplewood trendies. You know, the type who love appropriating culture while having enough privilege to drop $10 on some fancy coffee drink.Very hard pass.

Always a good experience when visiting this coffee shop. Its cozy, its laid back, and its comfortable. My husband and I dont head out this way often but when we do we stop and grab a drink. The food is not bad either but I would have to say I prefer the drinks! They also host board game meet ups that are very fun to socialize and meet new people. If you are looking for a nice cozy please to relax and enjoy a beautifully made drink, then I suggest highly in coming here.

Great food, great coffee, great atmosphere. All their food is freshly made in house. Very eclectic decor and clientele. I really like this spot. Cozy and a bit rough around the edges. I had the drip coffee which was solid. They have a pretty good menu and some interesting baked treats. I had the french toast casserole, their special. Sweet, but not too sweet. Id definitely come again. Right across the street from the park too.

Curly-hair Rick Moranis wanna-be at the counter is rude and i’m surprised he has a job, if anything could make me leave without trying the food it would be how he responds to those in line and his co-workers.Same fellow brought out the food, now with a fake smile, which turned out to be mediocre with nothing actually special about any of it.Overall, first impression will be final impression.

Review №43

I visited this coffee shop on the premise that they have very good coffee (per other reviews). The espresso drinks that we bought (latte and cappucino) were very poorly made. The milk was essentially boiled with the steamer, and the coffee itself tasted like it was just hot milk mixed with burned drip coffee. To add insult to injury, the coffee was $5. The aged decor with mismatching coffee mugs would have been charming if the coffee didnt taste like how the place looks.Consistent with the dilapidated building is the outdated feeling that people of color, like my wife and myself, were not welcome here. The food that we ordered did not come out for 30 minutes, and other patrons, who came well after us, received their food much before us. It was not until I asked the waitress where our food was did she say, Its coming, and she decided to finally take out our quiche and microwave it at that time. A very curiously fabricated delay.Subpar food, terrible coffee, and bad service. Do not come here unless you are one of their usuals that can squeeze them for a better attitude. The Living Room, which is a mere 0.3 miles away, is orders of magnitude better. Give them your patronage.

A great little place smack-dab in the middle of a neighborhood. I learned about this place, because of their Wednesday night open mic (8pm-11pm). The open mic is great with a mixture of local musicians, poets, and some comedy (I do standup mostly at their open mic). They also have a great menu. The food is good and I havent had a bad drink yet, either. They serve a mixture of coffee-shop style stuff, liquor and you can get a soda if youre not feeling adventurous. They regularly have performances as well, so pay attention to their schedule if you can. Ive been to a couple shows outside of open mic and it is always a treat. And everyone who comes is really nice and warm. Feels like a community there on Wednesday nights.
