Great little shop! All the gear for diving and lots for fishing in the Keys! Wish I could remember the guys name that helped us? He has a beard and was super helpful and nice. Great experience. Is definitely now our “go to” shop for fishing and info in the Keys! Thanx guys!!

The Tackle Box was a huge blessing to our last-minute excursion to the Keys. The owner and his lovely wife were very kind and helpful in setting us up for some successful family fishing without breaking our bank. They offer supplies for all levels of anglers!

They have a good selection of tackle, unfortunately their live shrimp guy was really late.....we never ended up getting shrimp after waiting 2 hours. Dont think its their fault though. Check out ChallengingTheOutdoors on YouTube

Great little bit shop! Was in marathon for 9 days fishing out of the canals out back of our rental and caught lots of fish but only because this guy at the tackle box told me how to get em!! 10/10 would recommend

This shop is fantastic! Super helpful and answers questions. Doesn’t try to sell you stuff you don’t need. We went back three times during our week long stay for more bait and hooks.

These guys are amazing! Not only are they friendly but also very helpful! We needed number to take our grandkids snorkeling and Chris didnt hesitate to give them to us. We have been back many times since!

Kid there sold me a bucket (6 doz) dead shrimp. I had an aerator going from the time they went into the insulated bait bucket. Drove 20 minutes down the road, not a single live shrimp. The other day they lasted nearly 24 hrs in the same bucket and aerator. Should have checked to make sure I wasnt getting ripped off, but I trusted them. Marathon Bait and Tackle would not have done that.

Bought two rods and reels, spent almost $900... came back because one rod had a small defect....apperantly NO warranty...instead charged me extra $30 for repair....I will not be back...very disappointed ☹️. Plus service of a previous reel took twice as long as promised..... my recommendation to owner: give better service and customers will come back and give referrals.

Good bait store with Live Shrimp bait. Shrimp price is awesome! We had some issues with Shrimps on Friday all went dead quickly, not sure why but I went on a couple of days more and live bait was good and alive.

Was gonna go to K Mart to get fishing equipment but decided to come here because of the reviews. Glad I did! The store looks small from the outside. Don’t let that fool you. They have a huge supply of fishing equipment & bait & tackle. Was looking to buy a rod & reel. The owner helped me out in my selection of a combo unit. He didn’t try to sell me on the top of the line stuff. In fact after he showed me what would suit me on the lower end I actually upgraded to a little heaver rod and reel. Very reasonably priced! Within an hour leaving I was fishing...

The Tackle Box in Marathon has tackle and supplies for the serious fisherman. The Tackle Box is the go-to place to get your reel re-spooled and your rod repaired. The owner Chris Still is a genuinely professional and nice guy. Highly recommended.

First time going to the Tackle Box was this week. I went simply because it was right across the street from Faro Blanco Marina and where I was staying. The people here were really awesome! I come to Marathon 3-4 times a year and will be coming here for my tackle and bait needs again without a doubt. Met the owners and Captain Bobby who were more than willing to help answer my questions and give me some good tips. I highly recommend this place!

Nice shop with some friendly folk. We got some great tips for fishing here in the keys and decided to book the 6hr charter. Captain Chris took us to a great spot where we caught a lot of fish. It was a lot of fun and his personality was awesome. We made some great memories. When we come back next year, we are definitely going to do the charter again. Thanks for all youve done. I would highly recommend you to everyone I know.

My oxygen hose got ripped of my face on the door when i walked in.. i was trying to get it back on with my MASK. All the woman at the counter could say was you need a mask!!! You need a mask!!!!! Very rude and nasty. I was trying........ went somewhere else. I never give bad reviews of anything.... she was just nasty... i dont think i was in the store more than 45 seconds. Total.....

What a great family owned business with a large selection of tackle, bait and gear. We got lots of great advice and were able to catch lots of fish on our first real fishing trip to Marathon. I just couldn’t imagine shopping in a chain store when I could go to “The Tackle Box” and be treated like an old friend.

My first visit to The Tackle Box. Friendly folks here. Owner quickly found 3 new parts I needed for a very old first generation Penn International 30 reel, one part of which manufacturing has ceased. I walked away with a smile. I was able to properly repair a neighbors reel that had already been worked on twice by repair shops. Ill definitely be back.

Went in to get a tip replaced on a rod, expecting to leave it there for a few days. The guy there ( i think his name was adam?) replaced it while I waited. Great service and a lot of invetory. Everything from entry level gear to pro gear. Highly recommended.

Captain Chris couldnt be better! Schooled my husband on some fishing/tackle and chartered us for 6 hours, expertly teaching us how to reel so we didnt lose the fish. Down to earth all around funny guy with a great play list on the boat 👍.

Great family owned business! Spoke with the owners several times while spending a week fishing out of Marathon. They were always super friendly and eager to offer advice and information. Great products at great prices. Their live shrimp were fresh and healthy and stayed alive in the live well for hours while fishing. Parking can be a little tricky, it’s way easier if you can back in to a spot. It’s my new go to tackle shop for the southern keys.

We are on a family vacation to the Keys from Minnesota for a week. Although I’m an avid freshwater fisherman, and have gone off shore a handful of times, I have never done any salt water shore fishing. I walked into the Tackle Box today and the co-owner, Robin, was amazing. She took 30 min to walk me around, get me set up and gave me tips and tricks on how to fish the area we are in. It was some of the best customer service I have ever received. Thank you Robin and team! I plan on coming back for fresh shrimp multiple times this week. Tight lines and bent rods to all the fishermen and women!

Very informative on public places we could check out and what kind of tackle to use. Most of all didnt make you feel like they were rushing you. This is THE place to go here in Marathon! Friendly advice given to tourists and locals alike. Need to know where the fish are and what is biting? Stop on in, the fishing reports at the shop are always right on! I have been shopping here for a long time, prices are great, selection is awesome and they even make custom lures and do rod and reel repair! Unlike other shops they always have live bait, and a good supply of chum on hand.

We bought a $42 cooler bag and tried to use it one time and the zipper broke immediately. We took it back the exact same day and they wouldn’t exchange or return it. Terrible customer service! We won’t be returning here.

This is the best place to buy tackle and bait in Marathon. I brought 4 rods in and the owner installed new reels, line, and tackle on all of them. He took the time (1 hour) to show my teenage boys how to tie knots and bait hooks. He also hooked us up with bait and fishing coordinates for some of the best fishing around Marathon!Thanks again for all your help!

Super nice people called them to see if they were still open just as they were closing and they stayed open for me just to come get a couple things. I will remember this place and recommend it to anyone going to Marathon to do some fishing. The Ballyhoo were very fresh the pilchards were big and all did the job. Great little tackle shop.When I walked in I was kindly greeted.I explained what I was looking for not knowing if they would even have what I needed since it wasnt actually tackle related.I needed a small float of some type to attach to the anchor line of my kayak so I would be able to cut it loose and also be able to retrieve it.When I described what I was looking for he walked from around the counter and straight to the perfect size float.I also asked him if he could recommend a good charter company that would better suit my needs than the run of the mill party boat down the road.He recommended the same local company they fish with.

The owner is very rude to those putting food on his plate and is clearly out to get peoples money. He charged me $20 plus materials to crimp 4 leaders which took all of 2 minutes. There are many other great tackle shops in the keys so I would avoid this one at all costs.

The owner was super nice and soooooo helpful! I had first went to KMart because it had a huge sign outside that said Fishing Center and was so disappointed. They had zero usable fishing poles available to purchase, and much of the bait for sale wasnt anything appropriate for fishing here in Marathon. There was no one to help me so I googled fishing poles for rent and found The Tackle Box. Not only did they have awesome poles at half the price, they had all the appropriate bait and gave us some great spots to fish. I highly recommend this place and will likely return se real times while we are here!

Im an avid fisherman at home in CT, tackle shops are not known for being excellent to tourists, let alone helpful. The owners of the tackle box recognized us even though we only stop in once a year. Always gave us extra bait than what we paid for, they were extremely helpful and knowledge. Well always be back!

Very helpful staff for bait and terminal tackle. Unfortunately, we rented spinning gear - it turned out to be low in quality. When a handle broke off a reel while fighting a fish, we lost more than an hour fishing time to replace it. The probable owner was downright rude when we returned it. No offer to refund the rental costs. I was fearful he going to charge us for the reel. I probably wouldnt go back again.

Great bait shop that has everything you need. Live bait is hearty and you can get frozen to if thats your thing. Tackle is extensive and apparel is from name brands like Costa.

Chris went above and beyond! This is my wife’s account, that’s why it say “Pam”. I’m Mark.My buddy and I trailered my boat down from Virginia and we are only here for 2 weeks. We purchased bait from Chris the first couple days but on the 3rd day we started having boat troubles. I explained the symptoms to Chris and he said he would try to reach out to his boat mechanic for an answer. Keeping in mind that they are open 365 days a year 11 hours a day. Chris called me after hours from his personal cell phone saying he reached his boat guy and with some advice. This is incredible customer service!
