Oh my goodness, this for sure was one of my favorite stops in my entire trip through the Keys! If you like books, coffee, and kitties, and you’re in the area, well then what are you waiting for, go here!!! But really. This is a coffee shop that has good* coffee, and they have used books literally on shelves on every wall where there’s space. And you can buy some for super cheap, at most a couple bucks per book, it’s just wonderful. They also house two resident kitties there, who were adopted by the owners and just come to hang out everyday and greet customers while mom and dad work, it’s literally the sweetest. Mr. Beans, the black and white one is especially friendly and just loves to be held and cuddle and hang out. He was just adorable and I absolutely loved him. Not to mention, the owners were so friendly too and great to talk to, they are just locals enjoying their small business and so personable. This is just a really cool, homey shop and it will forever be a required stop for me any time I return to the keys. All love, Mr. Beans.

I had an extremely pleasant morning chatting with the owner, drinking high quality coffee and enjoying a delicious muffin. Were a Miami couple who try to get down to the Keys any weekend we can. Keys News and Coffee is going to be a regular haunt for me. The Keys needs gems like this! Definitely give this place your business whenever you find yourself in Marathon.

Great coffee and unique ambiance. There you can get a book or magazine, a cup of coffee and a snack, and wind down for a while. There are two wonderful friendly cats: Mr Beans and Princess Jasmine, who are the sweetest! Side note: Mr Beans loves cream cheese, so you know what to do it you get a bagel!

The name fits perfectly. Gourmet coffee, a few bakery items, & magazines, books, & local news. Barista was super friendly too. I got the Super Frozer & a Almond Danish.

Cannot recommend this place enough! The guy who was working (I think hes the owner) was so pleasant. He answered all of our questions and made great conversation while we were waiting on our coffee. Theres a cute cat named Beans that you might get to see if youre lucky!

We come across the place on our way to key West. The smoothie is super delicious. So on our way out, we stopped by again to have the so fresh and full of flavor smoothie. BTW, the cats in the store are cute too.

Smoothies and frozers are delicious. Owner seemed annoyed by us ordering multiple drinks and ended up charging us 15% gratuity even though it wasnt stated anywhere. Would have tipped more because the drinks were really good but that made us not want to return for the remainder of our trip. Whats the difference if 6 customers order one drink versus one customer ordering 6 drinks? Hope the owner can hire some help so he isnt as stressed out in the future.

I can only speak on the coffee and smoothies, but we visited everyday for a week and it was hands down the BEST! Super cool little quiet spot with great customer service!

My parents and I went in and waited in line to get smoothies and coffee. The gentleman that was running the shop made my parents coffee, which was very good. After that we discussed which smoothies us kids wanted. The gentleman seemed annoyed by us kids and even offered the gentleman behind us to go before us, even though we were still ordering, which was rude. Also, you had to pay extra for fresh bananas in a fruit smoothie.

I always try local coffee shops instead of chains and this one is definitely worth checking out! Really cozy seating area, wonderful owner, and great coffee! You also can’t beat the prices…. This is a medium iced coffee (already sipped from)and it was $3! Can’t beat that….

This was a great experience. I needed some more books on my trip. I was able to pick up a ton of books I had wanted for a long time for dirt cheap. The owner was super nice and super witty. A great stop for the wayward individual or local looking for some books!

One of (only) two great coffee spots in Marathon, FL... love the owner, he has his coffee beans custom roasted to his own specs and really knows his stuff. Best part of it is that the coffee tastes great! I say that because some coffee snobs have strange taste that doesnt jive with me, but my first cup just left me wanting more!

This coffee shop is a great stop! The cats are cute and the amazing coffee syrup selection is hard to find. I recommend the Toffee Nut iced latte. Also has great breakfast sandwiches. Cool place!!!

A great little coffee shop in Marathon! There isn’t too many coffee options in Marathon, but this is a great place to go to! We tried some different lattes and a cinnamon roll, and they were all delicious. Also, in a central location so it is easy to walk to! Would definitely recommend and would go again!

No one ever gets a small coffee right for me… EXCEPT THIS PLACE! Slightly abrasive but good intentions because he was very knowledgeable. 43 different Monin flavors so no need to ask, “do you have” just order. Affordable. Doesnt let you walk away until you taste your drink and agree with it! Gave us an amazing recommendation for lunch (Burdines) and adorable coworker (🐱)

What a happy accident. I found this place because the McDonalds drive through line was outrageous and all I wanted was coffee. The coffee was fantastic, the place is inviting, and theres a super sweet cafe cat too

Iced coffee was pretty decent and gets 3 star, customer service gets zero star. Old man behind register was rude; made the assumption Im there to use his wifi just bc he saw my laptop and had the audacity to comment you need to spend at least min $5 to use wifi. Firstly, I have hotspot and was not there to use your wifi but thanks for the assumption and rudeness. Secondly, dont expect tip when your customer service skills are lacking. And thirdly, stop arguing with customers who leave reviews that are not to your satisfactory. Instead, try to be a good boy and just run your business right. DO BETTER!!Responding back to the rude owner. You saw our rental van and had the nerve to make a comment. Very immature to say the least. How about you focus your energy into improving your customer service skills. And no, we werent expecting much from a small shop of yours. Theres really not much to offer.

Just stopped by here for breakfast with the wife. It was awesome. Got to meet Mr. Beans and Princess Jasmine (the cats). Had great coffee and a bagel. My wife had a fantastic frozen coffee drink and a warm muffin. Filled with books, magazines, newspapers, trinkets, groceries, etc... Do yourself a favor and talk to the owner as well. Great man with great stories. When we come back to the keys, this will definitely be a stop again.

Great little coffee shop! Owner was kind and helped my daughter figure out what to order since she has really only ever had Starbucks... and now she knows what shes been missing! Definitely worth stopping in!

I was pleasantly surprised how delicious the coffee was here. My husband and I stopped by while on our way to Key West. The coffee was very authentic and had great taste. I love the flavor, mocha in general, so I ordered the big Frozen Mocha frappe (has 3 shots of espresso) and we enjoyed it while we continued our journey to the Keys. The atmosphere was very relaxing and seems like it could be a great place to read, talk, or even pet the kitties that are just enjoying life there with their owner. This shop also offers coffee bean bags from different parts of the world. Highly recommend to try this if youre looking to expand your coffee horizon.

I love this local spot! Jeff and his kitty, Mr Beans, are friendly and fun! The prices are reasonable, but more importantly, the service and product is outstanding!The cappuccino, my preference, is perfect. Milk and flavor options are numerous. Theres delicious breakfast sandwiches and pastries!Stop in and meet Jeff and check out a local artist or two. You wont be disappointed!

Was looking for a cafe con leche to give me a boost. Saw wife and I were close to cafe. My cafe con leche was delicious and spot on. Wife got a medium black coffee and was as pleased. The shop definitely had personality. Wished I had time to browse the magazines and books I saw, maybe next time. There was a friendly adorable 13 year old cat, that was being petted by another customer. The gentleman that served coffees was nice. Will have to add to my spots when I visit the Keys again.

We LOVE Keys News and Coffee. Jeff is the nicest person AND he knows his coffee. We spent a good bit of time talking about his beans and different roasts - then we ended up buying three bags of beans! He’s got an interesting life story he’ll tell you about if the shop isn’t too busy, so definitely ask him :) Also don’t bother with any other breakfast place on the Key, Jeff’s bagels come in from New York and the sandwiches he makes are better than any others you’ll get in Marathon, probably the Keys entirely. Finally, he’s got two sweet kitties, Jasmine and Mr. Beans, who hang out at the shop. They’re so cute and friendly. Definitely visit. He could charge at least two times more than what he currently does, but he doesn’t (Jeff, charge more - we will still come :) hahaha). Enjoy!

Stopped here on our way to Key West for a pick me up. I had an incredible iced latte with one pump syrup - using a flavor that was recommended by the owner (the number of syrup options is huge). My husband had a “delicious” espresso. We sat for a bit and each picked something to read from the generous reading selection. Will stop again.

Visiting the keys from ND & came across this place looking for a book for flight home. The frozer drinks are better than any frappe we’ve ever had and got our books too! Highly recommend.

The Super Frozer is the best darn blended frozen coffee drink Ive ever had, and I swear Ive had them all. Love the ambiance and the great service from the owner! Cool cats too, though my dog gave me the stink-eye when I got home smelling like cat.

Great coffee... Not a bitter nasty cheap coffee... But, dont ask to sweeten up your coffee, he looked at me like I insulted his whole existence when I asked for 3 splendas LOL. We went back several times.

We walked in and were instantly told (in not such a nice way) to close the door that we did not even open. Then the food and lack of atmosphere had us walking right back out the door which we closed behind us with pleasure.

My husband and I found this place on our first full day in Marathon and we were instantly hooked. Jeff, the owner, is so welcoming and makes amazing coffee! He gave us great recommendations for things to see and do in Marathon and helped make our week long trip memorable. We made it a priority to stop by every morning during our vacation for a great cup of coffee, specialty coffee drinks as well, along with yummy breakfast sandwiches or pastries. You also get to meet and hang out with Beans and Jasmine, the store cats!!!This is a must stop place for anyone near or in Marathon! Jeff, Beans and Jasmine will definitely be missed when our vacation ends!

Just had a traditional hot machiato with a splash of Carmel. If u like real coffee this is as good as it gets, highly recommend.

Well, its quite simple and clear.. This place is great for a coffee, conversation, opinions, and sharing with respect for everyone participating in the discussion. Owner was really nice, made us feel comfortable and as if we was locals on our start to another day in the keys. Good atmosphere, you could drink a little outside of the shop in the sun or enjoy indoors with a variety of books and magazines. Note the cute cat if you like cats will be strolling around the shop. Highly recommend this place during your visit to Marathon Key.

I love this local coffee spot! Jeff is super friendly and quick to whip you up a drink. My favorite is a dark roast iced coffee with one or maybe even two favors mixed, there are tons of options!

Stopped by on our way back from the keys and such a nice hole in the wall coffee shop! They have pastries as well as a book shop too. The breakfast sandwich and iced latte were delicious! When you go make sure you also ask for Mr. Beans! 😉🐱

This seemed like a place local men would hang out in the morning. Lots of space to sit and read or do a crossword puzzle. Coffee was good! Man at the counter was friendly!

Was on vacation in marathon. Went here every morning all week. One master coffee maker behind the counter and thats it. Highest quality drinks Ive ever had. His traditional macchiato will light you up! Owner is passionate and very friendly your not just another number.

Friendly place. Not many options for espresso in the area so you take what you can get. Mine was extremely bitter, even though I usually dont mind, this was excessive. Looks like a good place to hang out if you have nothing better to do.

Not a lot of coffee shops in the marathon and mid keys area. We stopped by this place for a coffee and some pastries. The coffee was pretty good. Wish the pastries looked more fresh than in plastic containers. Were giving a generous 4 star. The bookstore was nice.

Very good coffee and smoothies, a friendly proprietor, and Beans the cat is cool too. There is a great selection of magazines, books, and newspapers as well. He also has pounds of his house coffee beans for sale at a reasonable price. Wifi available and room to chat or take a conference call.

Very nice cafe! The place is very cozy with nice ambiance. It has big magazine racks and even a sofa with a TV. Service was top notch and the coffee tasted great!
