The employees at the Mason City Menards store were absolutely amazing. My mother-in-law called in an order. The employees that helped her did as she asked. They were helpful and willing to help her. She is rather older. However, the employees helped her. We came in to put the order on layaway after some double checking the items in the cart. Then helping to find an item forgotten and added lastly. Amazing job your employees did for my mother-in-law and she even became a bit testy for a second. They wore their smiles anyway. Thank you. My only disappointment is they only had one bag of the dog food I wanted. They had gotten 10 bags in yesterday and at least I got one. I understand there maybe shortages so I understand they fly off the shelves fast.

Where menards is never a fun shopping trip this branch seems to mostly employ unhelpful and untrained staff. From having to explain that a ton in fact isnt 1000 lbs to I cant find culvert pipe ... headache. And for Gods sake avoid cashier at #5, he is slow and doesnt know how a scanner works

I just love this store they have got everything that I love for my house from the biggest project such as a new bathroom designed for the handicapped and new kitchen cabinet’s to the little things in the house such as cleaning products and waste baskets. They even have food products. So whatever you need this is the best place to go shopping at for all of your shopping needs’

My husband and I just left this store. We were checked out by a cashier named Harrison. We were not greeted at all, we were not told our order total, our items were not put on the conveyor so we could bag them. When we left there was no Thank You or anything. 0 communication from Harrison to us through our whole transaction. Please train for better customer service.

Awesome place to go If you need anything for your house such as shingles, Floors. Workers are very understanding and know how to do theyre job better then anyone truly love going here and just roaming around but have bought something here!. Wood stock is amazing, and have good wood working products.

Have been to the store five times in the last few months. While the garden section was very busy and understocked in April, recently it had a great variety and low prices. They do have everything you need in one place.

When Dennis an I went to look at a new washer a very neatly soft spoken young gentleman told us all the info and that they had one in back still in the box! I will have someone bring it out to the dock and here is all the information you may have to checkout and I will meet you at dock 14! Absolutely; clean as whistle we were checking out! It was a pleasure to buy without to much info but very knowledgeable about what we needed to know!Thank You; Sir we look forward to seeing him the store when we come back! I believe that his name was Imam! He told us that he had just started working there!You would have never thought that for as much knowledge he told us without a sales pitch!Hes an awesome man! Not a joyful shopping experience, Im sorry to say. Theres no real brand diversity available from which to choose. Staff go out of their way to be unavailable and if you do manage to catch one, theyre not helpful, knowledgeable, or even very happy for that matter. All the lumber is warped and/or split. Checkout is uncomfortable if not stressful; since the cashiers are expected to do as little as possible, I have to do all the bagging while operating card transaction (on a kiosk that hasnt been sterilized,) and then the next customer is already being addressed and pushing me aside. Theres no assistance for heavy items out to my vehicle. And the cart caddy is overflowing across the parking lot. There ought to be more competition in this town.

I was asked to leave because I will not wear a mask.At that time, I pointed out 3 employees who had their masks on their chin.Yep, have a good day. I will shop elsewhere.

The cashier dropped a heavy purchase, in with the bag of dish soap. She did not wrap the fish soap separately, first. The cap busted and leaked soap all over my car and pants. Im furious that thus happened. I expect better. I will not be coming here again. Very, very, unhappy with Menards.

Did not have a good selection

I ordered blow up kiddie pools 4 in store pick up. When i got there with my confirmation#, they had none in stock. I needed the pools 4 a party 2maro. By this time walmart & everywhere was also sold out. Messing up my plans. Dont trust ordering online. I was disappointed.

My rating is based on my delivery experience. Full truck load unloaded in 1.5 hrs. Good job guys, keep it up

Have spent a lot of money through the years at menards. The governor repealed the mask policy... I was jumped right when I walked in the door to wear a mask... Other stores will welcome my money. If you think a 10 cent mask is going to stop a virus you better research more

The associate in paint department was very cheerful and helpful. The cashier was also very nice and engaging.

Not impressed with the garden section. A lot of the plants looked like they were on their last leg. Thats mainly what I was looking for. So it was quite the disappointment to find so many plants looking dead. The cashier was nice and friendly tho.

Not so happy with Menards today. Wanted 1 disposable basket. We found them but they were on the top shelf and second shelf from the top. Walked from the west corner to checkouts where there were several checkers (nice) but no customers. Asked one of them to call some help for us. No one came. Finally got it myself, almost on my head. When i got it home it was missing one end piece.

Waited over an hour for a set of tub surround to come out of the order area after being told over and over it was the next thing they would do, just to immediately watch them do other things right in front of us. Every other person came and went immediately and promptly. Our order was wrong from the start so they had to get us the right parts and took all of the time in the world. Will be looking elsewhere in the future.

Its a place that occasionally Its a necessity. This visit, I just needed garden items. In and out fairly quickly, and holy mother they had rebate slips at the register! I almost passed out due to the surprise!

The customer service rep was unprofessional which could be poor training. Whatever the case, the service we received was disappointing considering we drove an hour over other choices.

Needed help with ordering a door, no one around to help. Asked for assistance from a worker walking by. He said he would call for someone. 30 min later still no help. Not going back on a Sunday again. They lost out on 2 doors.

Mask required to check out. So I walked through the whole store getting my items and stood in line without a mask. Walked by many employees and no one says a word until you get up to the register. Some people dont wear masks for health reasons and you dont provide masks in order to check out. I will not be coming back and from your recent reviews, it looks like I wont be the only one.

Always a good experience

Especially disappointed with my experience at this store today. Our satisfaction with this store varies greatly with each visit. Often it is a struggle to receive adequate help, or even the right directions to an item. Today we stopped to pick up a new toilet, and when it was brought to our car it was damaged, as shown in the photo. The clearly marked fragile box was dented on two sides and even had a small hole. The employee assured us that the toilet would be in good shape, so we brought it home. Sure enough, the toilet is shattered. Called about a replacement and was told some of the others looked damaged, but some boxes were probably okay. Why dont they check their stock before selling it if they are on the shelf damaged like that? Regardless, I was told I would not receive compensation for my hour drive for a replacement, and they do not do deliveries. So disgusted for the wasted time out of my day today.

I must commend Menards on their Covid 19 policies. I would like to see better cleaning of shopping carts, so I gave 4, not 5 stars. It is great to see a large retailer take steps to protect customers. Please remember to wear a mask covering mouth and nose.

Great selection had exactly what we needed

Slow to restock- it is Tuesday already. I expect to get 90% of my list at my first stop. I only got 50%. Hard to Save Big Money when you spend lots of time.

Ill never be back.. I had to spend a rebate, but was hassled about the mask. She said its been posted for over a year about required masks-ITS BEEN OVER A YEAR.... maybe masks dont work.

Huge store with lots to offer we got some outside chairs and are looking into getting a bed from there soon, things can get expensive quick, depending on what you buy.

Wow what a bunch of mask nazis. Like shopping in North Korea. Didn’t ask if I had health issues just wouldn’t check me out without a mask. Asked so many times about a mask I felt I was being harassed. Don’t shop there.

Cannot shop without a mask. Products are terrible and cheap. Never worth the %11 and never will be. I drive to home depot and home lumber and supply every day. Fleet farm offers far better quality lumber and tools right across the steet. To hell with this place and the people who shop and support this nonsense. I hope I see it go out if business.

Save BIG money at Menards!

Went and bought cabinets for our kitchen. Kyle was fantastic! Super knowledgeable and walked us through the whole process. Very thankful for his time and expertise and would 100% recommend him!

The wipes i bought were all dried up. Useless ! Very disappointed

Dont expect help in the paint department. They point to where it is that you ask for. When asking for color charts the answer is any of it. I will drive 60 miles to get paint before getting from them!!!

Im not sure where to begin. There are so many positive things to say about Menards in Mason City. I moved to Iowa about 4 and 1/2 years ago from Texas. The place I moved into needed of a lot of work. My nephew told me about Menards in Mason City so the two of us made the 30 mile drive down almost every weekend.Last year I purchased a 100 year old house much further away. Its been my dream to restore an old house and this one needs lots of work.I continue to make the drive to Menards in Mason City because of the excellent customer service I receive every time Im there. There is Henry and Jeff in plumbing, Jenny in wall coverings, Tony and Charlie in hardware and seasonal and Dawn in the garden Center. They have all helped me time and time again. The folks running the contractors desk have always been very helpful and have taken the time to give me advice on my projects. And whenever I need to pick something up out in the yard, theres always someone there to help me load.Now the round trip to Menards is over 120 miles. You may think Im nuts for driving that distance but let me tell you - the shopping experience at Menards in Mason City is well worth the time and distance. Not only that, they have very good prices on the products they carry.

Bought over $2000 worth of building supplies on 12/20/19. Some of it was special order. Order arrived, went to pick up and part of it was not there. Waited two weeks, said it would be there,drove 90 mile round trip again and still not there. Said they would order it again and have someone deliver to me. A month later still have not received the last of my order to finish job . They never once offered to do anything to make me want to spend another dime at Menards.

Was busy, but everyone was distancing, and everyone had masks on. Was very impressed how everyone in this store was serious about pandemic safety.

Good luck actually finding anything in here. Good luck finding an employee who actually knows where what you want is. I don’t blame them. You could be in this store 24/7 and still be finding new places in it. If you need something fast- don’t go here. You’ll spend an hour here no matter what you’re looking for.

Great help with finding things!

I am extremely disappointed with the customer service here because there was none, and the mattress we bought here didn’t not match the tester that was out on the floor. Super uncomfortable to sleep on and now we can’t return it after one night of horrible sleep? Awful.

Asked a guy for some help finding some trim I needed, then he just started helping someone else... Get half of what I need (as other stuff was out other than 2 junk pieces) then 3 registers open and 25 customers lined up... Walmart of hardware stores is what this place is becoming!

Got some items because of 11% and some other items that were discontinued and talked to some of my friends that still work there

They will sell you products they dont have in stock. Even if another menards store has the item in stock they refuse to do a store to store transfer. Even though they told me themselves that they have no idea when more may come in. They have been waiting for over a month.Was told that I would have to wait or drive across the state myself to repurchase it from the other store. Manager.. Brian who I spoke with was very unapologetic and didnt seem like he even cared. He told me that would be robbing Peter to pay Paul if we got it for you another customer might not be able to buy what they need even though Ive already bought it. I said you cant get it for me because Frank mightve want to buy one next week that makes no sense.

Really appreciate that Menards is requiring masks! Makes good sense for all.

They really could learn a thing or two about good customer service. Few people are helpful. The woman at the front desk who handled the carpet cleaner rentals was rude and condescending.

If you ever have a problem that needs a quick fix I wouldn’t suggest shopping here! Slow rate of service from the entrance to the check out. Renting equipment from customer service was a task in itself, “What do you want?” was how that process began. Fortunately for them it’s the only major hardware and lumber store around so people have to keep coming back!

Not very happy with this trip. 4 items on my list from current ad nowhere to be found, 1 didnt even have a spot on the shelf and clerk couldnt find on computer! Went for those items specifically. And no rainchecks either!

Always have amazing and friendly service. I dont know why the post office considers lows to be the home improvement store of Mason City because it should definitely be Menards. Theres a actually not much you cant find at Menards. Has everything you would need to work on your house along with food, clothing and snow gear!

Stopped in to Menards again to find something to repair a ice dam caused roof leak this time. Got something that should work great. Also found 3 more items that jumped into my shopping basket. Always fun to shop at Menards.

Would like to order flooring trusses. No one will answer phone in lumber. And no one calls you back. I will just make my own.
