I was highly satisfied after visiting The Gun Store. Prior to my visit, I had gone to another gun store in town seeking information on taking classes to obtain a gun permit for my friend, seeking another gun for myself and for us both to do a little target practice. The other location lacks customer service so we left. We came to The Gun Store where our customer service expectations were met. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and do NOT attempt to push any sell upon you. They all have pleasant attitudes which means a lot. Id recommend them to everyone! Check them out!!

If you want to get your gun permit I do recommend this place. Its literally the cheapest way to get your gun permit.However, if youre playing the purchase a handgun here I would highly recommend do some research and look around other places. And their customer service is not the greatest especially if you are a first time gun owner 😔

To start I am not the person to leave a review on a business. Today was different when it came to this Gun store. First, off I am in law enforcement plus I work at outdoors store selling firearms. Their customer service is completely and utterly atrocious when it comes to interactions with customers. My experience today was one the worst I have ever had. I know they may have had problems with others in past as far as being victim of crime committed against. So they treat patrons a certain type of way to mitigate it happening again. All in all I felt like was treated like a common thug from of the street with no knowledge of firearms.Being a young black man that rubbed me truly the wrong way. Along with their outrageous prices basically marked up at least from $150 or more above MSRP for example a Hi-point C9 was $239.99 even for a gun of that quality that’s steep. I hope they see the error in their customer service to change it because that is a true detriment and disservice to sales.

Bought a VR80, Rossi Rio Bravo, and had a KR-9 through an online retailer sent to them never had an issue good selection great staff range is clean and safe great place to shop and no regrets in the year Ive been coming here.

I ordered a gun from an online gun business and had it sent here because I don’t live far from this location and this location is listed as a FFL. The entire transaction went terrible and I had to get a refund which this gun store made it a little harder to do as far as shipping the gun back to the online business. The online gun business that I ordered the gun from recommended that I never use this place again or go there again. This place is that bad.

This range is my go to during the weekdays and when I go with thw boys for and quick indoor match, jordan is great with the customers as safety officer at the range. Is not overpriced, the customer service is good, they have a great selection of firearms, they have ammo all the time(may be not the price that you want at the moment) the CCW courses are the cheapest and very informative, awesome instructors as well. Overall definitely not a fancy glass windows range with lounge area store but for sure they deserve the 5 stars for sure. By the way is owned and operated by a veteran.

Takes advantage of people who are new to gun culture. Sent my partner today who is unfamiliar with guns and equipment in for a holster with 2 active retention systems (for safety) and they passed of a single retention holster off as what he asked for and sent him on his way. Even questioned the request when he asked for the double retention. Would not recommend for people who are just entering the gun world.

This is by far the best gun store in Memphis. Great customer service, very knowledgeable, and always willing to take the time to answer any questions. Only custom AR lowers built in Memphis. Great prices. Great range. Ill no longer have to shop around, I know I will only spend my money at the gunstore.

The classes offered here are fantastic and those administering them are qualified and up to date with their training. Great selection of firearms and equipment.

My husband and I really like everything about this store,they have everything we were looking for and they have great prices and super friendly they help me filled part of my bucket list😀We the Mcdavid family is very greatful all the way to the discounts,We also took the class to get are permits to carry.

There is ridiculous price gouging on the cost of bullets. My husband and my daughter got communication wires crossed and EACH spent over $150 on 2 packs of 50 count bullets- a total of over $300. They were in the store less than 10 minutes apart. My husband returned to request a refund for one of the purchases and they refused citing liability for bullets exploding. The bullets hadnt been touched and were still in the same packaging with receipts.We have bought several firearms from this store and are in the market for more since our daughter and her friend are getting licensed and will both be purchasing firearms. We will spend this money elsewhere- way more than the $150 refund we were requesting.

TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!Brought two guns in for cleaning and servicing, one of them was jamming terribly. They called me to let me know it was firing fine and even said how many rounds he shot...HE LIED!!!..both were returned to me with the same RUST!! No oil ANYWHERE!!...and the same jamming issue I paid $120!! ($60/ea.) to have repaired!!..had to leave town for work so I took their word and didnt check till I returned...I dont believe in taking things back for bad service twice.

I have been to the store on several occasions to purchase ammo and to inquire about the upcoming range. I have always been treated with respect by both black and white employees! I was even given a discount coupon for when the range does open. Prices on guns and ammo are competitive with big box stores!

Extremely expensive!! They do not take refunds. They claim that they make everyone take off their mask and look into the camera upon entry but this is NOT true. I was not asked to remove my mask when I arrived or look into the camera. So it must be a black man profiling issue. Unacceptable.

Update:It would also appear to the owner that having an opinion that they dont approve of is wrong and instead of exploring the the issue would rather make a sad attempt to justify my criticism. Maybe Im wrong for describing how I personally felt about my experience, even though that description was based solely on my perception and not a desire to look for things to complain about. I forgot that you cant have a critical opinion without hurting peoples sensitive little feelings nowadays.Oh well.Semi-decent selection but not a very welcoming atmosphere. Maybe I just have the wrong skin color or staff were having a bad day, not really sure. Oh well.....and its a range but employees dont know information on range prices and stuff? Kinda weird....

There bullets are extremely high 60 and 70 dollars a box.When you can go elsewhere and buy the same bullets for about 26 and 30 dollars. I will no longer be spending my hard earn money there.

DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE unless youre extremely trying to get scammed. Over $160 spent for 2 types of ammo and range time for 30 min. Trying to patronize a community store had me spending twice what I would have anywhere else.

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS PLACE! This establishment will rip you off especially if you are new to owning a firearm. I was sold range ammunition instead of defense ammunition. Once I was advised I was scammed, this establishment refused to reimburse me. Im so happy I didnt purchase my firearms from them, because they probably would have spiked the price up. Left a 380 pistol with the gunsmith, I believe his name is Don. It needed a part that was hard to find and most places wouldnt even attempt to locate it for me. But he did! He got a hard to find part in a convenient amount of time. Didnt charge out the rear, and Im super pleased with the work he done. We shot the gun today and its like new!

If I could give nothing I would... I left my gun at this store to get repaired due to me cleaning it and not placing it back together properly....once it was “fixed“ I picked up my 9mm... i fired off one round which was good... I got home to take my clip out of the gun and to also make sure there wasn’t a bullet in the chamber And upon doing so... my gun wouldn’t go on safety... the trigger pulls half way through and the chamber won’t open!!! I feel like if there was another bullet in my gun and I decided to shoot another round I would be dead! And now I have to pay to get my gun fixed again from what ever the tech did there! Just unnecessary!! Not safe at all!

Came here before and decided to come back to support a local business but I was not very satisfied with the shopping experience this time around. Maybe things have changed a bit since the robbery a few months ago and the ongoing pandemic, not sure. Its a real pity as the store is conveniently located but will have to take my money elsewhere.

Ive pretty much purchased the vast majority of my weapons from here. (VR60, MP15 SPORT 2, G23, etc) I also got my weapons license from here lol. Very great place to shop and I hear the range is open so thats a plus. Nobody wants to drive all the way to Point Blank. The only issue I have is the price of ammo has definitely been increased because of the pandemic. Last I saw, 20 rounds of XTAC .223 they want $20! Online, its like $11.99. They had Tennessee Reloaded Cartridges $34.99 for 50 rounds. Thats an insane upcharge given I purchased the same 5.56 from them a year ago for $14.99!I definitely know business is business and money needs to be made. Its hard to purchase this ammo tho because Point Blank DIDNT upcharge on any ammo regardless of shortage or not. Again, The Gun Store is where I usually purchase weapons, but I am disappointed in the upcharging. I hate having to drive across town to Point Blank, Classic Arms, or Guns & Ammo! Bring those prices back down man lol.

Apparently there is an issue with a Black man wearing a hoodie while shopping, when I walked in i was 1st asked to remove my mask and look into camera by 1 Employee (understandable) then asked to remove hood on sweatshirt thinking its for purpose of identification by 2nd Employee sure no problem looked in camera...pulled mask back up then asked we good, can I pull hood back on? 2nd Employee walking around store with gun holster strapped across chest answers not in here ok thanks walked out... I could have asked what was the issue with my Hoodie but I didnt want to stick around where someone felt uncomfortable because of my presence....

Not alot of guns and very rude and answers everything but want listen and fix the problem to treat everyone with the same respect and post all rules on the outside of the door so the customer will be aware and have the customers picture taken before they come in that way they will have there mask on needs alot of work and dear owner just listen and do better instead of thinking u have the answer to everything

I had a problem with my ruger turns out it was a simple fix Mr.Don the Gunsmith there was very helpful and informative not only did he fix the problem he was kind enough to show me exactly what went wrong . Im telling you hes BETTER than YouTube . This is my new go to all around gun shop.

Unlike other gun stores in town with rude know it all employees, the team at the Gun Store are great people. Whether you are familiar with guns or are a first time buyer, the staff is very knowledgeable and will happily answer any questions you have. This place tries to get over on people and they can be rude. I’m not fooling with them no more. Today I walked in there to sell my p320 .40cal that I purchased from them for around $620 because I’m sticking with 9mm. They tried to offer me $200 for it which is a 3rd of what I paid for it. I was at least looking to get $300+ for it but when I politely said “Naw I can’t let it go for $200” the guy got irritated and said “well you’re not hurting my feelings” I’m taking my business to Bass Pro from now on. Stay away from this business.

Im absolutely floored by how I was treated here. Long story short, I ordered a gun from here under the impression Id be receiving what I ordered. The gun I purchased, however, was not the same gun. I only found this out after trying to buy a holster from a separate store and when called to voice my complaint, the manager of all people hung up the phone on me after saying he was sorry I felt like a fool. Absolutely horrid.Now, the long story. In late July, I went to The Gun Store to order a Springfield XD Mod. 2 4 Service model. I was quite sure of the make and model I wanted and, as the manager and I had chatted about, supporting local gun stores is important. The order is placed, I leave a down payment, wait for it to arrive, and pay for my gun. Everything seemed great, the gun looked great, and I had the upmost faith that the gun I ordered was the gun I received. Boy, was I wrong.During my winter break from college in December, I went out to purchase a holster from another store nearby, a Blackpoint holster supplier. They say nothing theyve got will fit my gun. I give them the measurements of the gun I ordered from The Gun Store, but they instead measure my gun to be a 5 model. Well, that cant be right. But youre here reading a one-star review, so guess which one was right.I called the gun store and talked to Chris, the same manager who thanked me for supporting local gun stores, and I told him the situation. What do you want me to do about it? Seems like a rather odd response. I want the gun I spent $600 and a summers worth of labor on, Im willing to return this gun. So you special ordered a gun, paid for it, were happy with it, and now you want to return it? Thats partly true, I was happy until I learned this wasnt the gun I ordered. I said if nothing could be done, frankly Id be furious. Youre furious and youve had this gun for six months? Yea, because I learned from someone else, not you, that the gun in my possession that I paid you for is not the gun I ordered and now I feel like a fool. Well Im sorry you feel like a fool. *Click*My jaw hit the floor. Really? The manager hung up on me? After everything, thats how this ends? I thought Id be furious, but now Im way beyond that. Im in Knoxville at this moment, but Im going to be making time next weekend to drive six hours on a Friday evening to come in Saturday and give them a piece of my mind in person, only to drive six hours back Sunday morning. I am beyond appalled that I was scammed here.If youre a customer and youre reading this, please do me a personal favor and dont support this local gun store like I did.Edit: Im appalled at your behavior and the gross negligence in my order. Ill accept the blame that I didnt notice you handed my a different gun than what you claimed you were handing me, but that doesnt make my experience any less despicable. I will not be speaking with you in person or be doing any further business with you.

I have been 4 times to gets this and that, really nothing hard glock 26 glock 26 magizine, 9mm 124 g pratice rounds a gun close to a glock 26,maybe a sig 365 when i ask about that they start laughting at me. 3 gun stores had the 365 on the same day. of all of the items i was looking for they had none of it . I guess i will get the last laught bye now
