Overall, very good and honest shop. Ive had them work on my bike, Ive bought several accessories, and even bought a brand new bike for my wife. Great selection of just about anything youd want! However, as I write this (10/2021), they are STILL insisting on masks - their door is plastered with mask signs. Unfortunately, this means Ill take my business elsewhere until such time as the signs come down. Its their choice to enforce this religious edict in their shop - but its mine to go elsewhere as a result.
Hands down some of the nicest people I have ever met. They have been in business 40+ years for a reason.. if they can’t fix/find it for you they will contact someone who can. Kudos to a great bike shop.
Why closed on Thursday? What a great day to be closed 🙃 🙂.
Great local bicycle sales and service shop. TONS of great accessories too
Great place! I found a helmet, gloves, a basket and a cute bell for my new bike all in 15 min... One stop shopping.
My father went in yesterday looking for a bicycle. He just got out of surgery and is hoping to start cycling after recovery. The woman working saw him browsing, walked up to him, and said “The weight limit on these bikes is 265lbs.” So he therefore no longer felt welcomed in the shop. He felt offended, and humiliated by some bored old lady who felt the need to insult him. I will never give business to a shop that feels they have the right to body shame a man who has been fighting with his weight for years, and is finally in recovery. The words I would like to say right now are quite vulgar because I am extremely livid. But I’ll keep this professional, because unlike the incompetent bonehead that works there, I actually respect the people around me. Have fun with your failing business, I hope to never see it thrive.
***** BUYER BEWARE *****After 3 separate visits Adventure Cycles is one of the 5 WORST Bicycle Shops I have visited in the World. I have been a competitive cyclist for over 25 years in Europe and the US. This means I have been in a lot of bicycle stores. For starters the sales floor is staff poorly with incompetence and a vey basic product knowledge. The owners decision to have “Mom” running the floor as an initial face to customers sets the tone for this business experience. She is a nice enough lady but speaks down to customers with faux knowledge. There is a feeling of laziness among the other visible staff. The experience does change if you are buying their product pushes. The back mainly shop has a decent setup but does not scream the quality that’s advertised. I witnessed many instances where services unethically pushed product. Rather than make suggestions the tech would say without buying the products you were in more danger or it could not be done. This is reminiscent of shady auto repair shops. Additionally, when I took my high-end competition Trek; they did not know how to service it. The techs did not correctly identify my rear derailleur setup. The tech actually misidentified my bike as a 9 speed. They did not posses the equipment to services my front shocks. Overall I found customer service to be lacking, moderately priced parts, overpriced services. All in all if you are a serious cyclist, have a competition bike, or want a pleasant shopping experience DO NOT come here. This store is better suited for those with cash to burn, Wal-mart bikes, grocery getters, beach cruisers, and Johnny’s first bike. The business does not instill confidence in this former customer for any service beyond removing my kids training wheels. Then again, it would probably be to expensive. I now know why there is always parking available.
Great bike shop! Carol was very informative and helpful. I will shop there again. Much better then the bike shop in Titusville, dont waist your time!
I have been going to this shop for years off and on. They have always done a good job on my bikes and when I had to change to a Handcycle they took the time where other shops will say they do not work on them. They even got me in last minute to fix my deraillure; I won silver thanks to them. When I took my moms bike in and they did not have the part and their distributor did not carry it they told me who to contact and what to say. I did that and my bike company told me where to get the part. I ordered it and had it sent to the shop, piece of cake.I have not had any of the problems that the other comments talk about but some of them are judging the store for things other shops do too, like not switching out seats. When I rode upright, I always had to pay for a different seat and other shops had me pay for water bottle cages and tire reflectors. So, maybe it is the attitude you go in with because I have never had a problem.
Okay. Prices are fair except on their mechanical installalations etc $30 to change a flat tire is outrageous. Sometimes they dont open on time. Good prices on most bikes everything else is honestly a little over priced.
I love working with this local business! I previously would take my mountain bike in for service and to shop for biking necessities. Recently, my husband and I decided to get hybrid bikes and picked up a couple of great bikes from here. The staff are very experienced and knowledgeable—from bike recommendations to assisting with servicing and upkeep. We had such a great experience and look forward to continue working with Adventure Cycle.
A great shop, however when I when I want to support small business and get my bicycle going on a Sunday when I can ride it, they are closed.
Great customer service and very prompt. Very willing to help where needed. Prices are very fair. Highly recommended.
Wonderful, professional experience here.Adventure Cycles worked with me to have Trek warranty my bike. Get this... the bike was 15 years old .Ended up with a new bike. Trek is a great company for sure but it was Carol the owner that made things happen.Great bike store with tons of choices for all needs.Lots of reasonably priced accessories and a great repair facility on site.
Can not begin to thank Carol and her team for helping my husband and I pick out bikes! They were all so patient, helpful and considering we hadn’t been on a bike in over 20 years-brave to let us test ride their bikes! Thanks to their guidance, we found the bikes that were perfect for each of us. Nicest, most knowledgeable people! Highly recommend!
Theres no great reason to go to any other bike shop in the area. They sell accessories, clothing, and Trek bikes. The staff and owners are very happy and willing to help, even without a promise to buy something. They also join in community bike rides. The people there go beyond the minimal steps to help customers and satisfy customers as quickly and best as they can. Bike shops with excellent customer service are the ones to support and keep around for years to come.If I lived on the east coast, Id make Adventure Cycles my home bike shop, but I live on the west coast (of Florida), so its a bit too far for me for now.
Great staff, such nice people to work with. Just bought my 5th bike today and every experience is outstanding.
Apparently what many others have said is true. They are very unhelpful. I took my business elsewhere and got what I needed. If what you need doesnt require them to move, work, talk, or think. Then this is the shop for you! No wonder the store is always empty.
We stopped in to browse and to see about getting new bicycles that would better suit our needs. We were greeted by Carol and she worked with us to picked out a couple of awesome Electra bicycles. Roughly a week later, we returned to purchase the Electra’s.The whole process was simple and painless. Carol and her staff were awesome to deal with. Not only did we buy two bicycles, but have returned a few times to say hello and purchase accessories. We would most definitely recommend to anyone looking to buy bicycles, to check out Adventure Cycles in Merritt Island, FL.
I bought my bike in Oct 2018 forgot to bring it in for my 60 day free check up in Dec . The other day I went to ride my bike and discovered I had a flat so I took the bike to Adventure to get my flat repaired. Not only did they fix the flat they also gave me a free bike check up after the 60 days. I would recommend buying your next bike at adventure Cycles. Great bikes and even better customer service o and great people.
I bought a bike last year from here and love it. I had a problem with the handle bars and Terry offered excellent customer service. Fixed it and I was on my way. I highly recommend this place for purchasing bikes and your biking needs.
I have dealt with this outfit for 25 years. They have always take care of my cycling needs honestly and expeditiously. They are very good at their profession. If you are shopping for a road bike or in need of repair and maintenance, this is the place to visit
Rip offs!
Great bike shop! Ive been getting bikes here since I was a little girl. Service is always amazing and they have an awesome selection.
The techs helped fill my tires when I stopped by with tires so flat I couldnt get the pump to seat on the stem. Prices very reasonable compared to trek prices in Charleston, SC where I live full time. Will definitely talk to them when selecting a recumbent for my husband.
I came in this afternoon with my broken cycling shoe cleat and Bob and Stefan were amazing. They spent time diligently working on finding a solution. Unfortunately, it wasn’t repairable. I was beyond grateful they took the time to help me. Thank you!!!
Just purchased a trek bicycle. Carol is very professional and informative. She and her staff are courteous.
A very friendly environment where both individuals and families are encouraged to get outside and ride bikes! Because they carry Trek bicycles, I purchased a Marlin 4 for my wife, who has greatly enjoyed using it. If you or a loved one are looking to get a bike, this is the place to buy. They have a broad selection of road bikes, mountain bikes, and childrens bikes.
Very nice friendly staff!
My family loves Adventure cycles! Carol and the rest of the crew have help us with every bike purchase weve made. They allowed us to put bikes on layaway and when we ran into financial difficulties they even held on to the bike and keep us updated until we were able to pick it up. Needless to say, we will be life long customers of Adventue Cycles!!! The wide selection is amazing and the family friendly atmosphere (that you dont find at big box stores) is what keeps us coming back. THEY ARE THE BEST!!!
Came in as a walk in and these people are the real deal. Extremely polite and incredibly helpful. Went above and beyond to make sure we could get back to riding for our charity!! Thanks so much!!
Unfriendly, push a sale type of customer service. 3rd time visit and still feel that way. I wont return.
Gave me a price of $300.00 to fix my brakes; took it to another shop, they did it for $150.00; will never go back!!!
Very friendly and helpful. We were just doing some quick research.
Bought a new Trek, trying to support local business. After a couple months took it back to have it tuned up first time. They wanted to charge me.....said after sales tune ups were only good for a month. Short sighted, no customer service.
Dropped off my bike last week to be worked on. Picked it up today. Bob, Bill and I believe her name is Carol are the most downed to earth, friendly and very professional people you will ever meet. Gave me an estimate on the spot. Walked right in with no trouble. You cannot go wrong with them servicing your bike.
Customer NO SERVICE. Stay away. New beach cruiser for Christmas. Both tubes failed in 4 months. Poor assembly suspected. Charged 51.00 for new tubes installed. Tires never below 35 psi but stems cut. New tubes installed crocked, would be cut like original. Took it back to show owner, was told they were good.
Awesome service. Always have the parts I need. Billy and Carol are such great people. Been buying from them for years! Ever need a new set of wheels, THIS is the place to go!!!
My boyfriend and I went in to buy two bikes that we were very happy with how they rode. However, we did not like the fact that they did not have rideable seats and a kick stand. We asked the sales woman if she would switch the seats that come with the bike with more comfortable seats. She says we used to do that but we ended up with a ton of seats no body wanted and there was not enough profit for us. Therefore, we were being forced to pay an extra $60 for seats that they wouldnt discount. Thanks to her, they lost an $900 sale over two seats. On top of all that, once she realized she was not getting a sale then she became very irritated with us and proceeded by being very rude and making sarcastic remarks to us.
Great quick service and very kind people.
Mixed results here. Prices are not great. I dont mind paying more than online prices, but 2 to 3 times more is unreasonable, and discourages my patronage. I really try hard to support local businesses, but I find myself driving over the bridge for better prices, or waiting for FedEx to make an online delivery. Instead of getting the mo$t from every customer, they would be better served by the higher volume that comes from more competitive pricing.I have purchased 2 new bikes from them in the past, and have had mixed experiences with warranty service. They complained that they werent making any money on my warranty service and pressed hard for an up-sale tune-up that was unnecessary. They could be a great business, but it would take a culture change, and a less money-focused customer experience.
Awesome place with great people who provide fantastic service! My go to bike store.
Only reason Im giving them one star is because no stars isnt a thing. I took my brand new wheels I just laced to get trued I got them back same day. I started riding and I heard a noise thinking maybe the new hub is setting in. After a day of riding It still didnt stop so I felt the tension on my spokes and there wasnt any! Very un happy that I have to now pay someone else to fix their mistake. And to add on top of it he told me I had cheap rims because I didnt spend hundreds of dollars on just my rims. They will never get another penny of my money.
I recently bought a Columba folding bike on Amazon and was having difficulty centering the brakes before each ride and keeping them centered. Within the first month of having the bike the right front brake tension screw sprung out of the brake and I could not get it reinserted. I brought it to Adventure Cycles for repair and a tune up. They diagnosed the screw was stripped, unfixable, and the brake needed to be replaced. They submitted pics and info to Columba to replace the parts covered by warranty. Columba was challenging the defect and Adventure Cycles spent extra time communicating and emailing Columba to obtain what was needed. I could not be more appreciative for the work that they did for me. They are a good group of folks who do good work at an affordable price. My family bought all of our bikes from them for us to get back and forth to school since the 1970s. I highly recommend them.
Just got an OK overall experience in this store. The staff was very nice, providing me with all information about the bicycles I was looking for. Looking forward to return and by my new one!
So, I had a problem with my bike and took it into this shop for repair. First, they were going to charge me $59.99 to take a look. Second, $49.99 for the part. Third, $200 for the part. Finally, over $309 with taxes for a repair that Bobs Bicycle Shop on Eau Gallie charged me only $65.00 to repair. This is not my first shady dealings with this shop. Just stay away from here. They are not worth it.
The crew at Adventure has always been great in helping me with my bike and components. Their cycling knowledge has been great...
Brought my sons bike into the store. This is a brake less bmx bike. They didnt have the parts I needed or wanted so tried to leave the store. Then one of the employees came up to me and said sir you cant leave the store you dont have breaks on your bike. Then they said we can drill holes in your bike so you can put brakes in then you can leave. Like seriously what is this?
Have purchased 3 bicycles here. They will not throw in anything like a kickstand with the purchase. I can live with that. However when my less than a year old bike had 3 spokes break while riding I took it in. When I got it back they had replaced my single walled wheel with a double walled wheel which I appreciated. They also said my casette and chain was worn out and they replaced those which I thought was strange. They said it was done under warranty so I didnt have to pay. After I got it back the chain kept slipping out of 2nd gear. I took it in, they said they fixed it but it still slipped. I dont use the gear very often so I just decided to live with it.Fast forward a few months and I notice my rear tire is practically bald. As Im riding I look down and can see a noticeable wobble in the rear wheel. This explains why my tread is wearing away. Front tire has plenty of tread. Decide to take it to a different place to have it checked and just like another reviewer my spokes are loose and when they are tightened wobble goes away.Fast forward to this year, I decide to replace the twist shifters with thumb shifters. Everything goes well until I test the rear shifter. It will not shift into 1st gear. Decide the problem is mismatched shifter and derailleur. Buy new derailleur, same problem. Take to other bike shop they think its still a derailleur problem so they put on yet another derailleur. Still doesnt work. Finally figure out it has some odd casette on it that this bike shop never heard of. They install casette that goes with the bike and problem goes away. Cannot figure out why that casette was ever installed on the bike since its not even the casette that belongs on the bike and explains why I always had the slipping gear problem.Never going back. Owner is also very politically biased and has no problem letting you know it. To me that is bad for business and alienates certain customers.
I love this place they where right there to help me and my son we were looking for lights on our bikes and cup holders and they helped us they showed us were they were even put them on our bikes cuz I didnt have no tools with me even at home so they put them on for us this place is awesome
Fantastic place to buy a quality bike with a very knowledgeable Staff. Buy one quality bike and have it for Life!!
They are very good and quick at putting together bikes.
Great service. They repaired my cannondale and gave me options that didnt break the bank.
I took my sons bike in there for some minor repairs, and I was told that I needed to buy him a new bike. My son even said that there was nothing in there that was anything like the style bike he even rides. I got the impression, they did not know how to work on my sons BMX bike. We went right over to the bicycle shop next to it, in the Chinese Buffet plaza. That place has it all, or can get anything we needed for our BMX style bike. So, over all, this high overhead looking bicycle shop is not really all that educated in bike repair, and only knows what they can sell you sitting right in front of them - nothing more.
Horrible customer service
Idk why the other reviews talk about bad service. Ive went in there on multiple occasions without making any purchases and the lady (I believe to be the owner) was polite in every which aspect the whole way through. Her customer service along with the other associates helped make way for two first time buyers with quality bicycles. My fiancée and myself are now dedicated Trekkies lol...anyway, this is a solid shop that was great from beginning to end. The second bike we bought took a full fledge hour maybe. Thats with them adjusting the brakes, tires checked and kickstand put on. Also to include my lady taking the bike for a test drive and pondering around for a good thirty minutes deciding between the one we purchased and the one we thought about purchasing.Overall great experience. Looking forward to doing business with them again!
Nice people great bikes
Thanks for the help.
