This is a really awesome Food City! All of the employees are friendly and helpful. Its a very clean store. The produce, meat, bakery items are all fresh. Anything I need is right there in this store.
I dont like the store but its the closest to my home . It was a very nice Bashas but recently made into a Food City. The aisles are marked in Spanish as the bold print and English very small. The specials are made over the intercom in mostly Spanish. I might be wrong but arent we in America and Spanish is our second language NOT first. Sorry if this offends anyone but its my review and thats how I feel.
This store used to be a Bashes. It is now remodeled to be a Food City. If you are used to the East and France know that it has now been moved to the West most side of this store. The exit for this store is now in the middle of the building. I found the location to be really good. There are 2 nearby pharmacies that you can get your items if this store does not have what youre looking for. The deli and bakery have some very unique and fun items you can also sit down and enjoy your afternoon there in their eating area. I was also able to find very unique plants as gifts in the florist department. The only thing I did not like about the remodel is that they have polished the cement floor to a very shiny finish and I am always scared about slipping and falling on it.The bathrooms are clean. I love the tile on the wall. I like that each tell has a hook to hang your purse so you dont have to put it on the floor.
It was a little after nine p.m. I had just left QT and Mobil. The former for drinks and the latter for $5 pack of cigarettes. I was pressed for time but I had a little bit of a cushion built in and I felt that I could accomplish it all and still make it on time. It was three miles from my last stop. I took the gamble and off I went.Arriving I quickly found a parking spot at the top of the row close to the door.Jumped out of my car and grabbed a cart as I entered the store. I had added a few extra items on the drive still feeling confident about the time.Looking up I zeroed in on the Dairy and started heading that way as I checked the aisle signs for Cookies. Turned in and found the wafers for 99¢. Grabbed two packages and kept moving towards Dairy. I just happened to notice the Guava fruit roll. A giant one for $4 and gabbed it. Making a left I stopped, backtracked to the juices and picked up two Guavas and a Lemonade for $2.99 each. Made a U-turn and came upon the cheese. Queso Fresco or crumbling cheese. Opted for the 32 oz. double pack for just over $10. On the way to the self-checkout grabbed four Kerns cans of guava at two for a dollar.Arriving at self-checkout I was the only one in line. Scanned the goods, bagged and paid and I was out of there in record time. Not bad for a spur of the moment decision and I made it back with plenty of time.
Ive been to a few food city stores and this has been the cleanest, most organized one. Very comfortable environment to shop in.
Although its convenient, I really dont care for their produce. Especially bananas theyre always brown. Other then that the employees r friendly and helpful.
Great lower pricing clean environment and great customer service
Love the pumpkin and apple enpanadas. Thank you so much my grandkids loved them!!😋😋😋
Nice place not too crowded around 9:30am. Nice people. The floors were dirty but all in all a really nice place. Their selection of herbs and spices are great... will always go here for my herbs and spices...
Very clean and well stocked. Produce dept has great deals and quality produce.
The meat and produce are less expensive. I felt the other departments are too expensive.
This location is super clean, has great produce choices and many selections of Mexican inspired high-quality store brands items.
Love this place. The customer service here is what keeps bringing me back time and time again Ill be having a bad day Ill come here and they will cheer me up immediately. I also absolutely love the meat selection.
I just want to say that the new management has done a great job in taking over this store. They actually listens to customers and employees and gets things done. Store looks more stocked and checkout has become much faster. Such an incredible improvement from the last management.
The workers are friendly and helpful my go to food city from now on.
Previously was bashes now food city. Its cool...
Clean & super friendly staff.
I wouldn’t give it any stars or maybe -1000. The manager and customer service customer service so rude. I bought four different items from that store that have been spoiled. The cashier got in my face and tried to fight me. Worst store ever do not go!!!The manager would not give me any names or corporate office when I called she just put me on hold for over 20 minutes and never picked up. I had to call a different store to ask them what I should do. Seriously go somewhere else! The store is very dirty and the bathrooms are disgusting .I will never spend another penny in that store. Even if that store is the only store around for a 1000 miles, I will drive 1000 miles instead of going there. They also talk to each other in In Spanish when they were just talking in English.
I really am liking Food City. If Im being honest, I have to admit the upkeep and some of the produce isnt as clean or as good as other grocery stores, but the prices are amazing! At least for some things. The weekly ad always has great deals! Ill always go to Walmart for a few things, but over all, I get most everything at Food City now! Thanks for helping me with my budget! Haha
This Food city smells like mold. I had to go out quickly. 😥
Love the food city...it used to be our local bashas and its seems so much cleaner and the meat is so much better and affordable. And who makes better refried beans than food city??? They are awesome!
Had SRP machine on site, no ATM available at this time. Staff is always friendly and helpful 🙂
Fair prices. I buy lots of vegetables here
Clean, prices are averagetheir sales are good and for me location is close
Had to put $$$$ on In-Power box not tooExciting...
This used to be a bashas store Ive gone there for 25 plus years Ill have to say Im not going to go as often now since they changed it to food City its not as well kept as it was when it was a bashes they have Spanish music very loud playing through the store a lot of the products that I was used to getting or not there anymore it was nice to see that they saved a few of the staff members from the changeover. It used to be in Wells Fargo in there but they moved it to a different location its not in a nice part of town so be careful especially with the transients in the parking lot
Probably the cleanest and best kept Food City Ive been in.
I enjoy going to Food City. Sometimes I need more than the single multicultural aisle offered at other competitors stores, here I can get that. A few basic items are a bit pricey like Strawberry jelly. Outside of that its clean, theyre friendly and quick at the register.
The employees are nice at this location
Love the deals and glad it doesnt smell like other Food City stores
Love this place right around corner from where i live always friendly staff and very helpful
Always clean and friendly service always
Great employees, clean store, fair pricing, lots of gorgeous ladies, felt like Ive been shopping at the wrong store haha ;)
Clean and easy to find what I needed. Sell check out was fine. No one there so it was quick
Great variety of food and groceries. Staff always attentive and helpful. They have a clothing department available which most of the times items are on special. Clearance section always has good items as well
I liked it better when it was Bashes. They switched most of the store around so its not as quick for me to get what I need now. Also more times than not I cant find what I need anymore. I couldnt even find a small salad kit for my lunch for work. Staff is nice though, but I do miss saying hi to some people who didnt transition with the company switch.
Went yesterday to this store and just want to say that the grocery guys rock! a latin lady i guess she is a manager always find s what i am looking for, even if it is on the complete opposite side of the store. she even switched out my moms cart because she mentioned it was squeaky. Fantastic service.
I only go there for Western union...the quality of products not good or reasonable
Store is clean. Service is unfriendly and the bakery is continuously out of what I go there to get. Went 3 times this week and they were out of cream horns, other pastries and have been for over 2 weeks now.
Decent, comparable prices but not tidy.
Nice change from the Bashas it used to be, much cleaner, but still not enough cashiers!! Need to have that human touch!!!
Great New store! Grand opening happening now! Great selection and always great prices! Staff very helpful!
This place is way too expensive but your tamales are good
Nicest Food City Ive seen. Very clean store, best cuts of meat of all the FC stores. Friendly and Courteous staff.
This food city is a good place to go for shopping. The meats are very good the store is well stocked. The change in attitude with the staff there is like nite and day. They are very friendly, helpful and Courteous. I stopped going to that bashas because of how I was treated there. At that time the attitude there was opposite of how it is now. I hope it stays just like it is. Ill post again in about 6 months
Very close to home fresh produce and meats its convenient
Well, a lot more Mexican meat. Nothing I could choose from. Since I was White. But that was to be expected because of the area. Outside of that is was OK.
I love it! Clean, friendly staff and a whole lot cheaper than Bashas! Warm bolillos and pan dulce in the mornings!😍 they grill their chicken to perfection and is so inexpensive! GREAT job Food City👍
Employees are helpful. Aisles spacious and easy to get around store...
Small store. No staff. Go to Frys instead
Love the baked goods!
Clean, organized and friendly !
I got my 🌮 meat for tacos am making for dinner. At a low price.
Food City is just not to my taste
Best place for produce and pastries.
Spanish is your first language I think you will love it. But I had trouble reading the signs and they didnt have the variety that Bashas has
Worst service of any grocery store. Please dont say because its Food City. I always shop at food City this one is just bad and doesnt care about there customers the cashier is rude the check cashing takes forever to get someone there and they dont even give you change
I love the updated look and they finally have a self service checkout.
Not a fan of this part of the Bashas brand. Most of the products I regularly bought here are now no longer carried. While the renovation looks nice, I will rarely shop at this store going forwards even though it is less than a 5 minute walk from me.
Check out the produce department and the bakery at this supermarket. Just darn outstanding. Prices are overall lower than the former Basha in this location.
This used to be a Bashas, looked so old and runned down. They recently remodeled the store and it looks a whole lot nicer! Nice staff as well.
I love it fresh veggies..great meat cuts. Chicken, seafood.. all household items oh and I must not forget bakery delicious... also they sell hot food ect.. A diffently must stop
Good place to shop has almost every item that you could want
This store is recently remodeled and updated from a Bashas store. Its clean and organized, with plenty of choices in every department. There is plenty of staff in every department as well, so its easy to get help if you need it. This store has the expected departments, as well as Wells Fargo ATMs, SRP payment center, and check cashing. I like being able to choose my favorite name brand items at the same time Im stocking up on family favorites for tacos and sopa. Be sure to wear a face covering if you go, they take the health precaution very seriously.
Amazing produce prices
I mean its okay. Its not the best food city around like the one on southern and mesa driver. I miss bashas more
Fast service, clean store
Convenient, clean and friendly
They didnt have my favorite ice cream like they always do😳
The Mexican bakery is wonderful
Great place to shop, for food, groceries, and all the everyday items you need, shop here at food city. Express checkout available.
Its a nice store i just wish i can keep maintaining through because i dont like when my body controls me from wanting to work hard i want whats best for me as doing security to be all i can be and work hard to protect companies.
Love the deli section.
I was concerned because the week before it was a Bashas supermarket, and i was wondering if i would get the same service as before. Well, let me tell you that the service i recieved was even better than before, by far. And now i feel confident about doing my shopping there.
Way nicer than most food city
Quick stop...Great Looking Beef Short Ribs!!
Store is being remodeled, totally understandable. But there were only 2 lines open with at least 5 people waiting in each. Finally someone came to open a third lane and Im not sure if he meant to come off as rude by telling us we needed to exercise more? Then bagged raw chicken with our other groceries. Wouldnt have been a super big deal except they didnt even have bags to put the raw meat in. I understand its a pandemic and everything is crazy right now. But raw meat contamination should still be taken seriously
I like these new food city, every body was so friendly.
Nice place to shop for food
I placed a last minute order for several party trays from this location and Brenda, who works in Bakery, was so kind and helpful. When I picked them up the trays which included mini sandwich, fruit and cookies were all perfectly done. My office commented on how great the presentation was. Will definitely order from them again.
So weird, I was here a month ago, it was bashas. Clean, nice store. There are a lot of elderly in the area, be nice and please have patience
Great food city but their prices are not the same as 8th Ave and alma school. Noticed and wont be back. Cost me an additional 15 bucks total for the week. Cant afford the nice store. Back to the old one.
It was nice place sure wish they would open up one on lindsay n University in mesa
Still getting stocked up on more hispanic items.Store looks well taken care of.Bathrooms are clean of all the times Ive had to use it.One negative thing is... whoever is on bakery needs to be taught how to make mexican bread if they will be trying to sell that. The bolillos are bad. They are tiny hard and dont look taste or smell like a bolillo. The mexican bread is also another thing. The carnicería is a bit small and from all the times Ive been to the store is mostly empty. The vegetables seems to last unlike when you shop at other food cities.Cashiers are mostly polite and helpful (thats probably because they were bashas cashiers)
Was way better when it was bashas dont think Ill be coming here anymore
Worst Food City experience ever. Weekly sale prices were not ringing up correctly. Educated the assistant at self checkout who had to run around the store to confirm ad prices. Then comes back and goes to correct this. Oh this is going to be hard because I have to do math. Hmm explained this has been an issue every time since they changed from Bashas to Food City. Well did you know that there ads change so often they can not keep up with the sale prices. This was a surprise to me. Since the other Food Citys do not seem to struggle with this. So I asked another question and was asked if i wanted the sale prices or not. Then he took an incorrect item off of the total. I tried to tell him that he took the wrong item off and was promptly told to quit talking. I promptly exited the store. My husband now standing there is waiting and he makes another error that would have cot the store. My husband told the young man and was promptly told to quit talking. Yes my husband promptly exited the store. We will not return.
Great selection and fair prices...
Nice people good prices
Not a lot of people which I love and the music was great. However there was an employee who kept approaching me in the aisles which I found kind of creepy and rude. she then made comments as I got towards the checkout but other than the store was amazing
I love their prices
Very clean and helpful store with great prices
I love Food City and their low prices for quality food. I was also excited to learn that this was going to be switched over from Bashas to Food City since this would be a closer and more convenient location to my home. However, the staff needs to work on customer service skills. I was just there today trying to use the self check out lane; I didnt notice the sign that specified it was for 15 items or less. I kept having issues with the machine stopping everytime I removed an item to make more room for the rest of my groceries. The attendant tried to explain that I needed to punch in a code for the watermelon so it would scan and a manager walked by and told her to let me figure it out it spanish. They both giggled and I ignored it and tried to hurry up and leave with the rest of my groceries. This is frustrating to me being Hispanic and obviously understanding Spanish that they would feel this was acceptable behavior. Definitely need to work on this type of behavior.
I am very excited because I saw a poster saying that this store will soon become a food city. Only one thing the owner should talk to his cashiers, because every time we go they are with the same thing, telling us that everything is going to be different, that there are not going to have many items that Bashas has now. In short I will wait for the store to be food city to start doing my shopping.
Im going to miss my dashes one right down from the street from me is now a Food City did Reddy folk treasure big changes are coming hopefully for the day
I stopped in and found some fried chicken wings and salad for my dinner or snack and able to sit and rest my feet at an area behind the deli. Nothing fancy, but suited my needs for the moment. The security guard was friendly and really doing his job, watching and observing what was happening in his surrounding.
